This is episode 143, and I'm your host, Satoya. And this is Equip the Next, where you get equipped to lead, disciple, and move the mission forward. Ready to stay close even when life gets busy? You don't want to miss this! And as we wrap up this series on just, you know, finding your way back, getting those rhythms back. And um as we um go into an even busier season, right? It's always busy. I wanted to first encourage you. Listen, if these episodes have been a blessing to you, feel free to share, um, follow. I wanted to um wrap this up by just giving some tools on staying close when life gets busy, because like I said, we're gonna be approaching August and people go back to school, all that stuff, you know, the drill. Come on, it's always busy, something's always going on, and we miss the intimacy with the Lord. My focus here is really just to maintain, you know, maintaining connection with Christ through changing seasons of life. You gotta maintain things happen. We got ups, downs, things happen. But we want to um maintain that consistency, that connection, even if life is busy, even if you can't read a particular verse that a particular day, right? Can you check in with God? Can you check in just for a little bit, split second? We check in with our friends, we check in with our family members, we check in with our loved ones. Let's check in with God. Let's check in, let's do a quick check-in. Just maintaining that connection, that line of communication is so very, very helpful in the seasons and the times that we live in, especially. Ask yourself this question. What helps me maintain, or sorry, what helps me remain connected when life gets full? We've been talking about little habits, we've been talking about rhythms. What helps you maintain or remain, as we just put that there, connected when life gets full? What is that one thing? That one thing that keeps that lifeline connected to the source. Hold on to that.
You know, it reminds me of John 15, 4 and 5. Hear this so much. Jesus says, Abide in me and I in you, and the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he is that bears much fruit. For apart from me, you can do nothing. You see, abiding in Christ is what's key. And apart from that, we can do nothing. He is the source of life, our life source. He is, and he's what connects us to the Father. And if we don't go through him, we're not going to be connected to the Father. I don't care what guru, what they say out there, there's different avenues, there's different ways to God. No, there is not. There is one way, one true way, one true pathway, and that is Jesus Christ. And abiding in him, not in the material things, not in your car, you know, material things, not in your house, material things, not in your job, you know, not even in people who are around you matters more than him. Remember, he put those people in your lives, your family. And we thank him for that. But we need him to teach us how to raise our family, to be honest, because nobody has a, I don't care how many books are out there. There's no book that teaches you how to be a perfect parent, a perfect spouse, a perfect woman, a perfect man. There's nothing out there. He is the source, and abiding in him is what connects you. We need to have that. And so you need to remain connected to him. You need to remain focused. No matter when life gets busy, it doesn't take that much. Don't overcomplicate it. Remember, abiding in him is the goal. Staying focused. Because the connection is what produces fruit. That connection, real true fruit, being part of a vine that flourishes, builds, and sustains, that prunes, grows, and strengthens.
And sometimes busyness can weaken our awareness. It can cloud our judgment, doom scrolling on the internet or uh social media, getting caught up in things that aren't in our control and frustrate us. Yes, we have to face things that happen in the world. Yes, we have to be responsible if you're adulting right now, right? But don't allow busyness to distract you from the connection. It's just like if you have um something plugged into a power source, right? You have it plugged into the power source and um you the wires are messed up. Or sometimes if if you have, depending on the cord, you might have a cord and it might get tangled up, or maybe there's something like very, very, very heavy. Let's just walk with me here. Very, very, very heavy that's sitting on the cord, it'll block or can potentially block the connection to the power source, and it can mess up everything, damage everything, may not even work. You want a smooth pathway to that power source so that way whatever's connected to it will remain intact, right? It will have that power. So we want to remain connected to the power source.
Remaining is more important than performing. Remaining is more important than overdoing, overbooking, over-scheduling, overcompass compensating. Remaining and abiding in him is more important than that because he is the source. Remember when we look at the Christ thread, how we abide in him and how he's the fruit. I mean, I'm sorry, we're we're the fruit. We're all working together in the body of Christ. We're all working together. We're all working together. He says, Every branch in me that does not bear fruit, he takes away. And every branch that bears, that does bear fruit, he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. And pruning hurts. But it's needed. The connection is key, the source is important. And if nothing blessed blessed you, if you listened to all of these episodes and they did not encourage you to go back to him, if they didn't encourage you that no matter what you did wrong, you can still connect to him. I want to at least leave you with the fact that we need you to be a part of the divine. Like we need you to be connected. We need each other to rebuild. We need each other. It's not a solo thing. You can't do this alone. We need
each other. So I want to challenge you to create one intentional space this week to remain with Christ. Listen, Christ is in you, the hope of glory. He is in you. There's no denying that. But we want to be connected to the source. We don't want to be astray thinking that we can be solo dolo out here, you know, just doing our own thing. Be intentional. You're we are in, listen, we are intentional about everything else. We are intentional about getting our nails done. We are intentional about, you know, uh being that soccer parent if you are. We are intentional about watching that favorite show. We are intentional about going to that game. We are intentional about all everything else. Let us be intentional about connecting and staying connected. I have been there where I have been burnt out from just doing too much, you know, or just not even burnt out, just needed a break. Like I just needed to detox. And then I would kind of drift away, you know, still be kind of in there, but it was stuff that was blocking the full connection because life and my pity parties and just all these things going on. And I had to shake myself and be like LaToya, get it together, get back connected. So you're not alone. This is not you, you might do it again, okay? This is just life. But I'm here to tell you that it's so important, so easy for you to get back to the basics, return back to your first love and get
