A few weeks ago, my friend Colin from the Kineticist uh used AI to populate his site with other people's work and content. And no one's really talked about this, okay? Uh he used it to basically steal some of our information that we have, right? And Knapp and really Jason Knapp is the one that took the bronze of this. Uh what's going on, Khan? What are we doing? So uh I I don't so here's the thing. If you're gonna use AI to organize your own work, I'm totally fine with that. You can use it all day long to organize your own stuff. But the thing I had a problem with is it was he was using it to curate everybody else's stuff and then post it as an article on his site. Now I I don't and if that that's okay if the if the creator agreed to it, you know what I mean? But the way a creator's gonna look at that is they're gonna go, well, you're now redirecting potentially sometimes views to you versus me. And it's not and like, of course, when we all publish content, we want people to see it, right? So I mean, if you went there and he consolidated your video to a page, I might not even watch the video. Do you know what I mean? So that I think that's where like Nap's like, man, if you're doing that, then they might not go to my site, and that that's kind of wrong, in my opinion. So I don't know what he was thinking. I don't know if he ever said, like, hey, I'm sorry, this was because supposedly the story was he was evaluating something. I can't remember what it was called, but he was evaluating an AI tool, but he never came out and said, like, hey, my AI tool was kind of messed up, sorry about that. Like, no problem. Like, that would have been cool. Like, that's what I thought after the nap thing. I'm like, oh, I was like clicking on the re refresh on Kineticist. I was like, he's gonna definitely apologize because this, you know, he never said anything about it. Like he so he just ignored it, which I think was even worse. Like, I would have just said, Hey man, sorry, it wasn't how it was supposed to work. I and it was it wasn't just nap, it was me, nap, don't it was anybody, you it was everybody. So I don't know, it's kind of weird. Yes, yeah, it was sort of weird. And I thought that was an odd choice. What do you think, Kale?

Um but I think at first when he deployed it, it was a little uh a little messed up because maybe there wasn't like pop proper attribution and and it was just like stealing stuff and putting on his website, and now maybe it was sorted out a little more. I don't I I don't know enough about it really.

Because I miss the Twippies. I miss it. Let's be honest, Jamie, okay? We had we were on the last one that they did live, right? And and there was issues, right? It wasn't it wasn't perfect. I f I felt good about it though. I felt like it was pretty fun, and I think we did a good job considering some of the tech issues. But here's the thing I do feel, and this is not I'm no, I know I'm gonna get beat up a little bit for saying this, but I feel like over the years, what it means that show has like continued to decline, and people have like almost a negative feeling about it. I it's it's just it's just fact, it feels that way. Like when I see people seem to be like, I'm not into that anymore. Yeah, so to me, it's almost better to not buy the Twippies, and I'm not suggesting uh it isn't like a you versus them or whatever, but maybe it's better to rebrand it and do your own thing versus that, you know what I mean?

You can caught but it's like I calculated something like if I was kind of thinking we we could get upwards of four to five thousand votes, and it might be more than that. The 10,000 tier was super expensive, and I was like, holy shit, for 5,000 votes, it was pricey, dude. So I don't know. Like, I don't know if maybe someone if we could build that.

My issue is even though it's like, yeah, the modules are interchangeable, so therefore I don't have to keep buying pinball machines, but I gotta store those things somewhere. So then you still have to store something, you know. I don't know. I'm not for me, it was a feel thing. I don't dislike it, but it's so different that I just I hasn't won me over yet. And then the other issue I had with portal, I almost liked the one that didn't have the you know how they had the two kits where they have ramps that like come on top. So like we were we were on a a group thread with Carl and Um Aaron from Fast Pinball. And holy crap, we learned stuff that I mean we didn't we learned so much. Like building pinball machines is hard as fuck. Like there's stuff there's magic behind the scenes that most people do not realize is going on, especially with electronics. Like it's it's very easy to do artwork for a pinball machine. You know, it's it's easy to do a basic layout, you know. It's hard to do an expert layout, like something like you know, Keith Elwyn's gonna do. I mean, uh that takes a special individual. But but it it's easy, you know. You can set up a layout where a ball goes through paths and you know, you hit it with flippers. Yeah. Um sound so you you have to think like Barrel's still a startup. They just started doing this, yeah. And and what they're doing right now is mind-blowing for a company that's been around for what, three years? Yeah, something like that. I don't know.

So, like my the QC thing, don't don't get that confused with me not liking barrels. I do like barrels, I just want to get no button up that stuff.

They didn't I don't know whether they didn't think it was important. So I mean they were like you gotta think about like sound is so incredibly important. Sound is more important than visuals, it really, it really is. And and and uh you know uh genetically, like humans, they you're more reactive to sound than anything, you know? And and so and and sound, there's no like frame rate and sound. It's such a it's such a very important visceral thing. You you you you have to think about most people like 99% of the of the people walking around do not understand what ducking is, you know, so like like they were just like uh triggering mp3s probably from you know, you know, yeah for for different things or something, yeah. And now they have like a real sound designer, you know, that that's doing like like real, real incredible work that that's noticeable. You know, you gotta think before Jeff, they didn't even think that was a big deal. And it's probably the same thing with electrical engineering, yeah. Like they they have a massive problem with electrical engineering. And and we learned a lot about that when we were troubleshooting all the bugs in Winchester. Like there was shit that was like way over our head. We were like, holy shit, I didn't even know you had to think about this kind of stuff. I mean, like, like I I mean I could tell you all about it, but it would put everybody to sleep. But um they yeah, I mean that that's something that they need to uh uh get a hold of. Uh you know, I talked to I talked to Bug and I was like after after dealing with Winchester, and I was like, man, like I had no idea like the stuff you have to worry about when you're developing a pinball machine, all of these EMI issues. Um and he was like, Yeah, it's a big, big deal. And he's like, the electrical engineers at all of these manufacturing facilities, they are the most important people in the building but the the least known.

In new game, old games, EM games, and all six, it's just the flippers are the first to give.
