Welcome from Sananda. Today we're talking about upheaval in your world. It may be, as you hear these words, that you're aware of, a lot of upheaval in the world. Perhaps when you hear these words, there'll be a sense of not quite so much. But one way or another, you're born into a time of great change on the planet. You're part of the change. Indeed, you may well understand that you are here, at least in part, because you wanted to be part of this changing world. You knew that you had a contribution that you could make. And you also recognise that there were things that you could learn that would help you to grow through this time of change.
0:54
Behind that suggestion is the understanding that there are no accidents. The reasons why events happen may often be mysterious or, if you have a sense of the reasons for particular events, those reasons as you explore them can turn out to be multi-layered, so that there can still be a mystery, even where you feel that you have some understanding of what brought about particular events. And in talking about upheaval in the world, part of my purpose is to encourage, to validate a kind of not knowing. You are in the process of creating the future. And the way that you have organised energy on the earth plane is that, whilst you may have glimpses of the future, sometimes very vivid glimpses of the future, the broad understanding of humanity at this time is that the future is outside of the realm of what you can know with certainty.
2:06
With that recognition that you're creating the future as you go along, allow yourself to feel empowered: that the future isn't fixed, both in the personal sense and in the global sense. And so the way in which you express your energy in the present moment creates the future. And in the moment you have free will; you can choose how to express your energy, how to experience it, how to relate to the world, how to feel that relationship with the world. And those choices that exist in the now are creating the future you are magnetising towards you.
3:06
If you look now outside - beyond your immediate sense of being you - at the world in which you live, this planet, planet Earth, you can certainly recognise that upheaval is a characteristic of the Earth. In your own age, there can be earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunamis, major physical events. And these, as far as you can tell, are outside of any control that you may have. So you know that you live on a planet that can behave in ways that have profound and widespread effects, and which you cannot wholly predict. In other words, you chose to invest your energy in a world in which change, sometimes very great change, and change that, as I say, is not entirely predictable, is part of the deal.
4:17
From that, understand that you are beings of change. Not just in the sense of growing - that's change for sure, and you cannot be in this world without growing in some way or other - but in a more specific sense, that you are agents of change, that you are as beings studying the whole process of change. How does oneness become many? How do many come to oneness? How do you create out of nothing or out of oneness? You can have a sense that you derive your personal experience of being you from a larger consciousness. And that larger consciousness may be experienced or sensed or believed to be more of you, a more of you that's not immediately accessible at the human level. Or it can be sensed, believed to be, an ocean of which you are, shall we say, a drop, an independent consciousness in the way that you might imagine a drop of water having its own independent existence, held in by surface tension. But then in other modes of being, it can fall into the ocean and that surface tension goes and it is just absorbed into the wholeness of consciousness.
6:09
And so, by the very process of emerging from that oneness, that immensity of a sea of consciousness, into individual form, you are by virtue of that exploring the process of creation, of change. How does it happen? When you come into this earth life, you come, of course, as your own individual self. For most of you, that identification with your individual self is lifelong, but you also recognise yourselves as belonging to a particular species, that you are one of humanity. And however diverse this species might be, fundamentally you recognise that you are of that same species. And this is not simply a biological truth, but an experiential truth. It may be that this experiential truth is more powerful than you might imagine. You are connected. You've seen how a crowd, shall we say at a concert or a football match, can find themselves absorbed into a shared emotion, or range of emotions, a feeling of oneness that can be uplifting or cathartic. With your thoughts too, it may be that your sense has tended to be that you are the generator of your own thoughts: you choose what you think, or you choose at least much of what you think.
8:13
But this too may be less true than it seems. Many of your thoughts, perhaps the majority, do not fundamentally originate with you. It's more as if you are tuning into the mental energy of humanity, or the mental energy of your particular society or community, and sharing in some of those thoughts, perhaps many of them, perhaps modifying some of them, perhaps reacting against them. But fundamentally, as you examine it, you can find that the mental space that you think of as your mind is not hermetically sealed or anything close to that. If you come to your body, you're in a continuous exchange of physical energy with the planet. Every breath you breathe you're drawing in from all of the atmosphere of the Earth, and every breath changes you. It brings you energy that your physical body can use.
9:42
So though you have this independent example of being yourself before you, you also can recognise that you are part of a larger consciousness or related closely to a shared consciousness, related closely in many ways to humanity with whom you share the planet, and beyond that, related to all lifeforms on Earth. Some of those relationships can feel closer than others, but you are all of the stuff of the Earth, you are all spirit, having gathered, having received from the earth gifts, that you then give form to as your physical presence, as your human presence, as the activity and movement of your emotions and your mind.
10:48
So now we come to upheaval. Upheaval of itself is neither good nor bad. It's just change, but change that has a degree of intensity that leads you to think of it as upheaval. Your familiar routine, your familiar path, is either directly affected or it can be a feeling that it might be affected as you observe change in the world around you. So that perhaps the first step is you consider your relationship with upheaval in the world, is to allow yourself to welcome it - as change. You do not need to welcome suffering, but you can welcome the potential, the beneficial change for you as an individual.
11:50
But in this context, the question of suffering is important. It may be that right now, as you listen to these words or read the transcript, your immediate environment is peaceful or relatively peaceful, that upheaval is elsewhere, in another place or another time. And you can be aware that whilst the process of upheaval is experienced as relatively comfortable for you, either because you enjoy engaging with it or because it feels muted for you - the upheaval is elsewhere in that other time or other place. You can then look upon the suffering of others who are caught up in the maelstrom, and you can wonder, many do, ‘Is it really right that I should welcome change into my life? Change that is being, in some way anyway, promoted by this upheaval in the world. when that same upheaval is bringing suffering to some, perhaps to many?’
13:25
So many of you came to the earth plane out of compassion. If we can describe it in this way, many of you are already skilled practitioners of this energy of compassion, and many of you saw an opportunity in coming to Earth to develop that skill even further by using it, by expressing compassion, by looking at how compassion interacts with the events, the changes, the variety of experience that the earth plane offers. Compassion for one who suffers does not require you to suffer. Indeed, it will generally be the case, that allowing yourself to be in a space of balance, of internal harmony, a space of acceptance, a space of a fundamental joyfulness means that the compassion that you radiate out into the world or direct to particular beings or situations is more powerful.
15:06
It is the case at this time that the connectedness of human consciousness carries with it two implications that are very relevant. First of all, the connectedness means that it's very easy for a kind of tsunami-like energy to build up in human consciousness, like the crowd at the football match or the concert. The feelings may be uplifting, exciting, but not necessarily. Collectively, you can find yourself captured by feelings of pain, of hostility, of anxiety, fear, whatever emotions there are can be felt by many simultaneously and develop their own kind of momentum. But then the other factor is that this is not as yet widely recognised, so it is very easy for people simultaneously to be caught up in a shared emotion, shall we say, or a shared set of ideas, but at the same time not realise that this is a shared consciousness and to continue to see themselves as individuals and everyone else as an individual. And this sets up or strengthens the idea of separateness.
17:00
Whatever your background is a human, what have your background as a being at the human level, really virtually every human energy field carries the echoes of trauma. Even if the trauma is long past, the echoes linger on, right through to the physical. The energy field of your DNA or of yourselves more generally carry very complex frequencies, they carry a kind of history, a history that is personal, but also history that is collective, the history of humanity. But then within that history, the history will serve your genetic inheritance. So if there has been trauma in the past, for you, for your ancestors, for humanity in general - and there has indeed be very considerable trauma in humanity's past - then those echoes exist within you now.
18:16
You're existing in a time when the qualities of energy coming into the world are stimulating change. They tend to draw up to the surface these deep wounds. Part of the challenge humanity has been facing is of partial healing. You've had the idea as a group of societies that history is fairly brief, that what happened a thousand years ago or 10,000 years ago or a million years ago is not relevant to you today. What happened to your grandparents? Yeah, that can feel relevant. But when you start to go further back, there's this widely shared idea that that's all done with, that's gone. From our perspective, this is like a wound healing over on the surface, but still having poison in its depth.
19:20
Many of you, as well as being gifted in the skill of compassion, are also and in lots of different ways, great healers. Another reason that so many of you hearing these words were drawn to the Earth was to use and develop those healing skills. Often in order to do that, you took on issues, traumas, for you to deal with in the knowledge that that would play a part in awakening or awareness of those skills that you already have, but because of the density of the earth plane have been somewhat hidden from you. So we're in a situation where the energies, the light coming in, is tending to draw the poison up to the surface from those deep wounds. In one way or another, there's a degree of pain in that experience. It's not really present pain as such, but it is an opportunity to allow the pain of the ancient past or the more recent past to come into the light, to be healed by the light in the same way that sunlight can be so very helpful in healing a physical wound.
20:50
This is fundamentally a very beautiful process and will prove to be immensely beneficial for humanity as you move forward. But there is a challenge, of course, in this. Naturally, most people really prefer not to feel pain. Ultimately, everyone prefers not to feel pain, but people's ideas about it can get a little twisted and uncertain. And since pain hurts, there can be a very strong instinct of wanting to get it out of you. And so long as there's a sense of other humans being separate from you, there is a strong temptation to project that pain which is actually yours onto another. The other is the bad guy. The other is the one who's doing it all wrong. The other is the one who's causing all the trouble in the world, et cetera. You've heard these ideas. So in this current era, you're finding that there is a rising to the surface of trauma, some of it very ancient, so that it may be cleared, so that humanity is free to move forward into a rather different future, a future that you yourself are helping to create.
22:31
In the process of that, whilst there is still that understanding that you are separate from one another, then you find in human societies upheaval, as people attempt to dump their pain onto others as a way of being free of it. When the understanding arises that there is no other, that you are one, that you are of the oneness, then of course, it is immediately obvious that projecting your pain onto another is a futile exercise. The other doesn't exist. You're just shuffling pain around yourself, we might say. It doesn't do any healing. And as so many of you know from your own experience and from studying the world, not only does it not promote healing, it tends to prolong suffering. Far from clearing the poison in the depth of the wound, it inflames it, it reinfects it.
23:54
All is not lost. It can sound as though I'm describing a rather dreadful process, and in that it brings suffering to many, it is indeed a dreadful process. There are many better ways of moving forward. Nevertheless, restimulating a wound also can be seen as bringing it towards healing. At some point, a recognition arises that trying to dump the poison onto another is not working, and actually the pain is getting worse. Then there's an opportunity for realisation, a letting go of the drama that is involved in projecting your pain onto another.
24:44
So that if you yourself, feeling perhaps that you're standing on the sidelines of other people's upheaval, or indeed if you are caught up in difficult events in which tragedies are occurring, close to you, even to you, or to those you love deeply, you are not powerless. You're part of the healing. For each person, what you choose to do is different. There is no demand, no requirement that you do particular things. All of you have your own unique ways of expressing energy in the world. You make your choices. If you're drawn to help in practical ways, then please do. But if you're not drawn to behave in particular, practical ways as you see it, do not accuse yourself of standing on the sidelines doing nothing, for there is much that you can do.
25:56
You are a being of light. The more you come to appreciate the light that you are, the more you relax into that light, the more you allow it to open, the more you embody it. The easier it becomes to see the light in all others, to recognise that you live on a planet of beautiful souls, beautiful beings, everyone, everyone of humanity, everyone, all beautiful. Some of the behaviours that come out of that pain, not beautiful as far as you're concerned. They're counterproductive. They slow things down. They generate more suffering, rather than heal it. But holding that vision, seeing the divine being in each, this is very powerful. It's more powerful, more transformative than you might believe, allowing yourself to witness what is happening in the world. And, as I say, if you feel drawn to be involved in practical ways, then please do. But allowing yourself to witness without feeling that you have to be drawn into the upheaval, this too is powerful, as if you are saying, ‘This old game, I'm not playing it anymore. I have other more interesting, more uplifting, more enlightening projects’. Let yourself therefore engage with your own joy, whatever that joy might be. Do not be distracted by the drama of others. Again, if you are drawn to help in practical ways, using some of your skills or all of your skills, go for it. But if your sense is that the most loving, most helpful thing you can do is to be centred, to be in a balanced space of inner peace, to know yourself as a being of light and all other beings as beings of light, and to sense a path of light, that energy that you are flowing into the future is beautiful, becoming more and more beautiful, and it is immediately available. It may be flowing into the future, but the future can be the very next moment, or a thousand years from now. In a sense, it doesn't really matter, but that you are expressing the beauty of your essence, your divine self, is immensely helpful to the Earth. That's why the Earth called you here. You are contributing by being the light you are, the love you are.
Thank you for listening. Goodbye for now.
