#79 - Ron Soto & Chris Hembrough, The Sarasota New Year's Eve Pineapple Drop

This year marks the 25 annual Pineapple Drop, which takes place each and every New Years Eve, in downtown Sarasota…right in Pineapple Square.  We brought Ron Soto, who has been in charge of the annual event, along with Chris Hembrough (of Misguided Spirits), who is one of this year’s sponsors.  There will be festivities all day long, which begin at 1pm in the afternoon on December 31.

In the episode, we’ll learn why a pineapple is used, how that pineapple was created, how much it costs, and so much more.  Of course, we’ll also dive into more Sarasota talk with Ron, and what he thinks of the roundabouts popping up across town.  Who knows, maybe they’ll drop a pineapple in the middle of one of those someday.  And, as always, we send Ron through the Rapid Fire Gauntlet.
