#97 - Sarasota Police Chief, Rex Troche

This week, we are honored to once again welcome Sarasota Police Chief, Rex Troche to the show. On this episode, Chief Rex Troche is sharing with the community, the drastic reduction in crime in the city of Sarasota.  What’s more impressive, is that they achieved this in back-to-back years, a 38% reduction in 2023 and 2024 combined.  This was historical for the community, and the Chief is sharing some of the tactics and community engagement his staff is employing within the city.

You’ll learn that many of the initiatives don’t specifically look at crime, but engaging themselves within the community to build trust, and develop solutions to many of the ongoing challenges the city faces.  Chief Troche also shares some of the technological advances that his force utilizes to help them when they do have to investigate and capture criminals, along with items that assist them in real-time.  Not only do these advances prove more effective, they also allow them to act in a safer manner in situations where instant pursuit could escalate a scenario, unnecessarily.  We hope you’ll enjoy the episode, and here’s hoping we see a three-peat in the drop in crime across the Sarasota community in 2025!
