The Breakthrough Entrepreneurs
Treat Your Work Hours Like Your Greatest Investment
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Entrepreneurs often underestimate something that determines their future more than almost anything else: their work hours.
Many people sit at their workplace treating those hours like ordinary time, almost like a regular job. But building a business is different. Every hour you spend working on your goals, creating, solving problems, and serving others is shaping the future you want to live.
This conversation focuses on a powerful shift in perspective. Instead of treating your work like routine or something boring, begin to see those hours as the most valuable investment you are making in your life. Those moments at your desk, writing, creating, building, and solving problems are not ordinary moments. They are the moments where your future is being built.
Entrepreneurs who protect their work hours, eliminate distractions, and show up consistently put themselves in a position for success. The future you dream about is being built during those focused hours you spend working on your business.
Key Takeaways
1. Your work hours are building your future
Every hour you spend working on your business moves your goals and dreams closer to reality.
2. Entrepreneurship requires a different mindset than a regular job
Successful entrepreneurs treat their work time with urgency, commitment, and vision.
3. Distractions destroy progress
Protecting your workplace and your time is one of the most important habits you can build.
4. Showing up consistently builds belief and confidence
Every completed task and milestone strengthens your belief that your vision is possible.
5. The hours you spend working today become the results you enjoy tomorrow
Success is created during the focused, disciplined hours you invest in your business.

(0:08) Hey everyone, welcome to the Breakthrough Entrepreneurial Show, where we empower entrepreneurs to build (0:14) good habits, break old habits, rebuild powerful routines, overcome burnouts, improve performance, (0:22) and create a healthier and more focused daily and technological life, while making consistent progress in building their business. (0:32) I'm your host, Mohammad Faraj, and today our topic is, Treat Your Work Hours Like Your Greatest Investment. (0:42) You see, I wish I knew this earlier on.I think so many people, when they sit at their workplace, (0:50) when they start working, or when they work on particular projects, tasks related to their business, (0:59) I think so many entrepreneurs, so many people, they don't know this. They don't treat their time, their work hours, (1:08) their workplace, like it's the greatest thing that they are doing in their life. (1:14) They don't treat it as it's the most valuable thing that you can do in your whole entire life. (1:24) Like, just sitting in your workplace and just doing some work, you are living the greatest moment in your life. (1:34) You are doing the greatest thing in your life for your future. You are putting yourself in a position for success, for happiness, for winning. (1:49) So many people, they don't value just simply sitting at their workplace. They don't value their work hours. (1:57) They don't value their work efficiency. So this is an important topic that I want to talk about, (2:07) because so many people, they look at their business, at their entrepreneurial daily life, just like normal jobs, (2:15) just like corporate jobs, just like nine to five jobs. But my friends, the work that you're doing, (2:24) the hours that you are spending, the place that you are sitting, is not like your work. It's not like any other job. (2:36) This is something great for your life. This is the most valuable thing that you're doing for your life, for your future, (2:45) for your family, for your clients, for your audience, for your community, for other people, (2:52) because you are serving from that workplace, because you are making a difference from that workplace, (2:59) because you are changing lives from that workplace, because when you are putting those hours in your workday, (3:09) you're not just putting them for yourself. You're putting them for your family, for your clients, for your audience, (3:17) for the people that they are waiting on you, so you can help them, so you can solve their problems, so you can improve their life, (3:25) so you can help them get unstuck. The work that you are doing, the place, the workplace that you are sitting in, (3:35) the time that you're spending, you're doing it for your dreams. You're doing it for big goals. (3:42) You're doing it for a happy, healthy, bright future. So stay tuned with me in this episode, (3:51) so you can learn about how to treat your workplace, how to treat your work hours, how to treat your business. (4:03) So, I think so many people, they work just like employees. You know, you go to a simple or any job out there, (4:13) you see people are working, people are doing their work.I mean, they look happy, they look satisfied, (4:21) but they don't look driven, they don't look excited, they don't look very engaged, they don't look very driven, (4:33) because people at jobs, they are just doing their jobs, they are just working their work hours, (4:40) and then they leave their work, and then they go home, and they continue their life. (4:47) They spend time with their families, so they work at their jobs just for the purpose of doing the work, (4:55) just to get that salary, just to support themselves, just to pay the bills, the rent, (5:02) but they don't work with a drive, with a big vision, with excitement, with winning, with a strong mindset. (5:12) This is what we do in entrepreneurship. We don't work just like those people who work at corporate jobs, (5:21) or they have nine to five jobs, or some people, they just find any job that they can work, (5:29) so they can support themselves and pay their bills. This is how they work at work jobs, at normal jobs. (5:38) But in entrepreneurship, you need to be a winner, you need to be a hungry, you need to be a driven, (5:46) you need to be excited, you need to feel hopeful, you need to expect a bright future, (5:55) accomplishing big goals, making a big difference in this world, solving big problems that people are struggling, (6:04) that people are feeling very tired of these problems. So don't treat your work, don't treat your business, (6:14) don't treat your entrepreneurship journey just like normal jobs. That's not okay, that's not fair. (6:23) You need to be hungry, you need to win, you need to show up every day, you need to work with a big drive, (6:32) with excitement, ready for winning, having determination for success. This is how you need to work, (6:43) this is how you need to show up, this is how you need to treat your work hours in entrepreneurship. (6:49) When other people say entrepreneurship is hard, you say, for me, it's not hard. (6:55) When other people tell you, achieving your goals is impossible, you tell them, no, it's possible. (7:04) Because I don't treat my work hours, I don't treat my goals, I don't treat my dreams, I don't treat my business, (7:12) I don't treat my work hours just like others. No, I treat my work hours, I'm living my best moments, (7:22) my greatest moments in my life. I'm doing something that everyone feels happy and proud of me. (7:33) All my siblings, my parents, my family, my partner, my kids, my relatives, my friends, (7:42) they're all watching me when I'm working. They're all watching me when I'm working as an entrepreneur. (7:50) They're all watching me when I'm staying home, when I'm staying at the office, working long hours. (7:58) They're all seeing a big vision in my future, in my heart. They all see how driven I am, how crazy I am, (8:10) how hungry I am for winning, for accomplishing, for reaching, for making things possible. (8:19) They're all watching me.So, so many people, they look at their entrepreneurship journey, (8:26) it's just a normal journey and they're just hoping and they're just wishing and daydreaming every day (8:33) that they hope that one day things will change and they will accomplish all their goals. (8:40) But unfortunately, they spend most of their time thinking about a vision, (8:45) they spend most of their time visualizing, they spend most of their time talking about big goals, (8:53) they spend most of their time telling everybody to make a difference in this world. (9:00) But when it comes to doing the work, when it comes to spending their time, (9:06) they don't treat their time, they don't treat their work, they don't stay disciplined, (9:13) they don't stay committed in their business for those goals, for those dreams, for that vision of their future. (9:20) Because they treat their work like, just like average work, just like normal jobs. (9:26) They would just work some few hours and then that's it. (9:30) Or sometimes people are searching for motivation or sometimes people are falling back or sliding back into their old habits. (9:39) You find them, sometimes they talk about goals, they talk about projects, they talk about dreams, (9:48) but they're wasting so much of their time on social media, on distractions, on procrastination, (9:55) on answering that phone call, on reading that SMS, on checking their mobile phone every five minutes, (10:02) every one hour, every 30 minutes. (10:06) So many people, they don't treat their business, their work like their greatest moment, (10:13) their greatest asset, their greatest time in their life. (10:21) Because if you treat your work hours, if you treat your workplace, (10:26) if you treat your business like the greatest thing in your life, (10:30) you would break through in your entrepreneurship journey faster than everybody. (10:36) Because you look at your business from different lens. (10:41) Because you look at your entrepreneurship journey from different perspective. (10:46) Some people, they treat their entrepreneurship journey just like a hobby. (10:52) Oh, it's just fun or it's just an extra project that I'm working on. (10:57) Oh, I have set some goals and I'm just having fun. (11:02) If I ever have any extra time, I go spend some time on that business. (11:08) Oh, I'm working on that business. It feels good. (11:11) Oh, just now it's not working. (11:13) I mean, they talk just like their business doesn't mean so much to them. (11:19) They talk like they don't treat their work hours, their business, their time, (11:26) like their greatest things in their life or the most important things in their life. (11:31) Because if you treat your work hours, your time, if you treat your business like your greatest thing, (11:40) you would never let any distractions avoid you from making progress, from working. (11:45) You would never let anything distract you. (11:49) You would never let anything prevent you from making progress, from winning, from hustling, (11:55) from moving forward, from accomplishing, from reaching. (12:00) That's why so many entrepreneurs, they set deadlines, but they keep overdoing their deadlines. (12:06) They keep passing their deadlines. (12:09) That's why so many new entrepreneurs, they talk about goals, they talk about dreams, (12:17) but you look at their habits, you look at their routines, you look at their work ethics, (12:24) their performance is way below. (12:26) It's way different than what they talk about. (12:30) It's way different than their dreams, their goals. (12:33) You see, success is not easy. Success is uphill. (12:38) Success is hard. (12:41) But what is the solution for hard is to treat your work hours like your greatest thing in your life, (12:50) your greatest moment, the best thing you are doing in your life when you are sitting at that workplace (12:57) and you're watching your screen or you're writing or you're creating a content (13:02) or you're working on your business. (13:04) The best moment, the best moment when you have a meeting, when you have a sales call, (13:08) when you are writing that article, that blog, when you are building a business, (13:14) that's your greatest moment. (13:16) That is your greatest hour. (13:19) Please treat it like that. (13:21) No distractions, no noises. (13:25) No one can distract you. (13:26) No one will prevent you from working on what you are meant to be working. (13:34) So I had this bad habit. (13:37) I used to complain a lot and just always making excuses. (13:44) Oh, I can't work today because I'm not motivated. (13:47) Oh, I had not a good sleep. (13:49) Oh, today I'm tired. I'm exhausted. (13:52) Oh, I lost clarity. (13:54) I lost my feelings, my engagement. (13:58) I lost my drive on my business. (14:02) I used to complain like that. (14:03) I used to be this person when I used to be my old version. (14:07) I had these bad habits and they were constantly making me think that my business is not possible. (14:15) I will never be an entrepreneur. (14:17) Those dreams are just delusion. (14:20) They are not real. (14:21) And I used to treat my work like it's a boring project. (14:26) I used to treat my work hours that I'm wasting my time, (14:31) that I'm working long hours but nothing is changing. (14:35) I don't see results. (14:36) This is how I used to look at my work hours. (14:39) I thought it was boring. (14:41) I thought entrepreneurship was lonely. (14:44) I'm isolating myself. (14:46) I'm depressing myself. (14:47) I'm separating myself from others. (14:52) I used to look like this at my business. (14:55) I used to delay so much work. (14:57) I used to get so easily distracted, procrastinated. (15:02) I used to escape from home, escape from working, (15:07) delay so much work, stack so many projects (15:10) because I didn't treat my business, (15:15) I didn't treat those work hours, (15:17) I didn't treat those days in my week like my greatest things in my life, (15:23) like I'm doing the greatest thing in my life when I'm sitting at my workplace, (15:28) being fully productive, laser focused, present with my thoughts, with my feelings, (15:35) and doing the work. (15:37) I wish I did this. (15:40) I wish I looked at every day that I was unmotivated, (15:45) that the day was not determined by motivation. (15:49) The day was determined by that drive, (15:51) by treating my work hours like my greatest thing, (15:55) regardless how the weather looks like, (15:58) regardless where you live, (16:01) regardless how the circumstances are. (16:05) Simply, the art of sitting at your workplace and doing the work, (16:10) that's it. (16:12) You are living your greatest moments in your life. (16:16) And matter of fact, when you accomplish your goals, (16:20) when you make your dreams come true in the future, (16:23) when you look back and remember those moments, (16:27) when you look back and remember those hours, (16:30) when you look back and look at your workplace, (16:35) you remember those moments and you would notice that, (16:40) you would realize that the reason why you are here, (16:44) the reason why you have made your dreams come true, (16:48) the reason why you accomplished your goals, (16:50) because you were treating those moments as your greatest moments, (16:56) because you were really good at protecting your time, (16:59) your work hours, your workplace, (17:01) because you were really good in keeping away distractions from your workplace. (17:07) So, when you are sitting at your workplace, (17:12) just so you know, (17:13) this is a best advice for my listeners, (17:17) you are setting yourself in a position for success and winning. (17:25) I will say it again. (17:26) When you are sitting at your workplace, (17:30) you are putting yourself in a position for success and winning. (17:36) So, just by sitting at your workplace and doing the work, (17:41) you are doing the greatest thing in your life, (17:45) in your entrepreneurial life. (17:47) You are doing the greatest thing for your future, (17:50) because your future depends on that moment. (17:53) Your future depends on that workplace, (17:57) on that office, on that table, on that chair, (18:00) on that device that you are using to build your business. (18:05) Your future depends on it. (18:07) Your future depends on your habits, (18:10) on what habits you are implementing every day, (18:13) on what routines you are implementing every day. (18:17) All of these habits, all of these rituals, all of these routines, (18:21) they are all compounding and showing you results in your future. (18:28) They are all working in the background. (18:33) You are making progress. (18:36) You are moving forward. (18:37) You are winning. (18:38) You just don't see everything at the moment. (18:41) But the moment you are sitting at your workplace and doing the work, (18:45) regardless whether you are motivated or not, (18:47) regardless whether you are driven or not, (18:49) regardless how you feel, (18:52) you are living your greatest moment. (18:55) When you look at people who are achieving, (18:59) are winning, are making their dreams come true, (19:01) they are building, they are creating, they are succeeding, they are winning, (19:05) it gives you this burning desire. (19:08) It gives you this burning feeling inside your heart. (19:12) You tell yourself, (19:13) look, others are winning, but I'm not. (19:16) Look, others are achieving, but I'm not. (19:20) Look, others are succeeding, but I'm not. (19:24) And when you say, I'm not, (19:26) you know that you didn't treat your work hours like your greatest thing in your life. (19:33) Because if you did, you would have achieved just like those people. (19:37) If you did, if you treat your work hours like your greatest thing for your life, (19:45) for your family, for your future, (19:47) you would succeed, you would win, (19:50) you would make your dreams come true just like those people do. (19:56) So, I used to say, it's boring, (19:59) sitting at workplace and spending all those hours, (20:03) it was feeling boring. (20:06) I used to complain, I used to say, (20:08) oh, it's not fun, it's not sexy, (20:11) I'm not enjoying a lot. (20:13) It's because I didn't realize that. (20:16) Every time I'm sitting at that boring place, (20:19) every time I'm keeping myself away from distractions, (20:23) from procrastination, from any life urgencies, (20:28) that I'm doing the greatest thing for my life, (20:31) I'm doing the greatest thing for my happiness, (20:34) I'm doing the greatest thing for my health, (20:37) I'm doing the greatest thing for my future. (20:41) Your goals, your dreams, your vision, (20:44) they all depend on those hours that you're spending every day. (20:50) Are you spending your work hours on distractions, (20:55) on procrastination, on life urgencies, (20:58) on events, activities, people, (21:01) that are not belong to your life, to your future? (21:07) Are you donating so much of your time, (21:11) so many of your hours for others, (21:14) but not for yourself, not for your future, (21:17) not for your goals, not for your dreams? (21:20) Do not complain, do not blame if you're doing that. (21:25) If you're spending most of your time for others, (21:28) then you will be doing things for others, (21:33) but not for your own life, not for your future. (21:37) So, when you treat your work hours, (21:40) like your greatest thing in your life, (21:43) regardless how you feel, (21:45) you would find yourself, you're moving forward, (21:49) you're getting better, you're winning, (21:51) you're getting closer, you're making progress, (21:54) you're moving forward, you find yourself after a year, (21:57) you have made so much progress, (21:59) you have come very far along in your business. (22:04) So, do not treat your work hours, (22:08) in entrepreneurship, just like normal jobs, (22:12) just like normal work, from 9 to 5, (22:15) because when you're working there, (22:17) you're working for others, (22:19) you're achieving for others, (22:21) you're helping those people make their dreams come true. (22:25) But, when you are treating your work hours, (22:30) your own work hours in your business, (22:32) in your entrepreneurship journey, (22:35) you are doing the greatest thing for your future, (22:38) you are doing the greatest thing for your success, (22:42) you are making your dreams come true, (22:44) you are achieving, you are reaching milestones, (22:47) you are getting closer. (22:49) So, you're serving yourself, (22:51) you're serving your family, (22:53) you're serving your kids, (22:55) you're serving your future. (22:59) So, it's a great thing when you are sitting at your workplace (23:04) and doing the work, (23:07) because your success depends on doing the work. (23:13) When you are sitting at your workplace, (23:16) this determines the success that you will enjoy, (23:20) that you will see in the future, (23:22) because your workplace, (23:25) your work hours are connected to your future, (23:29) your future is waiting on you, (23:31) your dreams are waiting on you. (23:34) So, the days, the hours, (23:38) the time that you spend in your business, (23:41) it should feel so happy, (23:43) you should feel so excited, (23:45) you should feel so driven, (23:48) you should feel like burning inside, (23:51) when you are working, (23:54) because you are building, (23:56) you are building your future, my friends, (23:59) you are building your future, (24:01) you are building your success. (24:04) It's not easy, (24:07) but when you treat your work hours (24:11) like your greatest thing in your life, (24:14) you would look at your business from different perspective, (24:17) from different view, (24:19) you would commit, (24:20) you would be productive, (24:22) you would be laser focused. (24:25) Every time when I have bad days, (24:29) or when I get distracted, (24:31) or when I fail, (24:32) when I mistake, (24:33) I always look at those moments, (24:35) I always remember those work hours that I spent, (24:40) they make me feel happy, (24:42) they make me feel satisfied, (24:46) because I know that, (24:49) I am aware that I have done good job, (24:52) I have done good work, (24:54) I have spent so many hours before, (24:57) so when I get distracted, (25:00) I always tell myself, (25:01) like distractions, (25:03) or procrastination, (25:05) or things that are preventing me from making progress, (25:10) they shouldn't exist in my life, (25:12) because I remember those great moments, (25:15) I remember those happy moments, (25:18) I remember those joyful feelings, (25:21) that came from those work hours, (25:25) so one of the greatest things about putting those work hours, (25:31) is that they generate so much great feelings, (25:34) you feel so happy, (25:36) you feel joyful, (25:37) you feel excited, (25:38) every time you complete, (25:40) every time you scratch a project, (25:43) a task on your to-do list, (25:45) every time you complete, (25:46) every time you create, (25:48) every time you reach a milestone, (25:50) every time you achieve a goal, (25:52) they generate so much wonderful feelings in your body, (25:58) you feel happy, (25:59) you feel excited, (26:00) you feel driven, (26:01) you feel hopeful, (26:03) all negativity, (26:04) all self-doubts, (26:06) they disappear, (26:07) when you are spending your work hours, (26:12) just like your greatest thing in your life, (26:15) nothing can stop you, (26:19) you look at your business from different view, (26:22) from different perspective, (26:26) if you look at successful entrepreneurs, (26:29) they were really good, (26:31) they were so good in keeping all distractions, (26:34) all noises from their work days, (26:38) why? (26:39) because the days, (26:41) the hours that they were working on accomplishing their goals, (26:46) on making their dreams, (26:48) they were looking at their work hours from different lens in life, (26:53) they were looking at it from different perspective, (26:56) from different view, (26:57) they had different feelings, (27:00) they knew that, (27:01) that vision was living in their heart, (27:05) in their mind, (27:07) that future, (27:09) that success was a visual for them, (27:13) at their work hours, (27:15) they were, (27:16) they knew what they were working towards, (27:19) they knew what they wanted to achieve, (27:22) to accomplish, (27:24) even though the journey was hard, (27:26) not even though they meet so many problems, (27:30) so many challenges, (27:32) like Elon Musk, (27:33) so many failures, (27:35) but they had this belief in their heart, (27:38) that every time they show up to their work, (27:43) every time they show up to their business, (27:45) every time they show up to their goals, (27:47) to their dreams, (27:48) they are living their greatest moment in their life, (27:51) and look what they achieved, (27:53) look at their accomplishments, (27:55) look at their achievements, (27:59) look at the difference that they made, (28:03) they were so good in keeping away all distractions, (28:07) procrastination, (28:08) life urgencies, (28:09) all noises, (28:11) they did not let anything interrupt them, (28:14) why? (28:15) you will ask me why, (28:18) I'll tell you why, (28:19) because they were treating their work hours, (28:22) like the greatest thing in their life, (28:24) because that vision, (28:26) because those dreams, (28:27) because those goals, (28:28) they were living in their heart, (28:31) they had so much belief on themselves, (28:34) on their future, (28:36) and when you treat your work hours, (28:39) like your greatest thing, (28:40) your belief increases, (28:43) your confidence increases, (28:48) feeling hopeful increases, (28:50) because this is a big evidence for you, (28:56) that it's possible, (28:58) that those dreams, (29:00) that those goals, (29:02) they are true, (29:04) and they will become, (29:06) so treating your work hours, (29:09) like your greatest thing, (29:10) creates belief, (29:12) creates so much confidence, (29:14) creates so much hope, (29:17) because every time you show up to your goals, (29:20) every time you show up to your dreams, (29:22) every time you show up to your business, (29:26) and by sitting at your workplace, (29:29) and spending those hours, (29:31) every time you are getting closer, (29:35) to what you want to achieve, (29:37) to what you want to accomplish, (29:41) so treat your workplace from today, (29:45) treat your work hours, (29:47) like your greatest thing in your life, (29:49) because nothing is greater than, (29:51) achieving success, (29:53) nothing is greater than, (29:55) making your dreams come true, (29:57) in your entrepreneurial life.
