In today’s verse-by-verse study through Hebrews 2, we discuss the warning against drifting away from the gospel and why Christ must remain the center of the Christian life. We examine the danger of becoming consumed with dreams, visions, supernatural experiences, and “deeper revelation” while neglecting the simplicity and sufficiency of Jesus Christ.
We also connect Hebrews 2 with Colossians 2, looking at Paul’s warning about those who become puffed up by mystical experiences and lose connection with the Head, who is Christ Himself. Finally, we explore how Jesus came to destroy the power of death and deliver those who were held in bondage through the fear of death.
