Who Dey ALL Dey!!!
Happy April 8th, 2026, and welcome back to the Hood All Day Podcast. I'm your host, Michael Berg, beautiful, carefree Arizona. Sure missed y'all. Got our boys with us tonight. Brian Kyle, Utah County. Brian, how you been?
SPEAKER_02Been good. Yeah, it's been a it's been a long time, fellas, since we uh rallied the troops and had a little Bengals talk. So excited uh to be together tonight and get into it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, same. I know there's been a lot going on. I know the offseason is not only busy for the uh owners, the general managers, and the coaches, but for the three of us. So good to see you guys. Brant, Northern Kentucky, how are you doing?
SPEAKER_01Pumped to talk to you guys tonight. Been uh but yeah, we had a little bit of a layoff. So to all the listeners out there, uh, sorry about that. So, but uh really excited to talk some draft talk tonight with you guys and and see what's gonna happen with our uh with our Bengals here.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, this is uh absolutely our favorite time of year. I was I was texting with the boys earlier this week and some of the things we wanted to touch base on. Yeah, there's some Bengal news going on, but this is it. This is our Super Bowl. Uh that we love talking about the draft, and so we're gonna do some fun stuff for you all listeners tonight. Uh, but you all know the drill. We're gonna go four downs. First down. We're just gonna touch base on some updates. It's been a couple weeks, some of the things that we've been seeing in Bangoland, we want to chat on. And then second, third, and fourth down, we broke up the draft. Uh, we're we're we're going to use one of our favorite websites, profootballnetwork.com. They let you do a seven-round mock draft. I know for some of you that may not seem very exciting. You may be used to only wanting to know the stars in the first round pick. Stick with us. We're going to get you pumped up and fired up for all seven rounds. So, gentlemen, kick us off, Brian. First down. What's going on at Bangoland? What's on your mind?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you know what? I know you guys have some some good nuggets. So I will uh touch base on uh the acquisition of Kyle Duger. I think that's a kind of a maybe under the radar, solid acquisition. Uh, I don't necessarily feel that he's gonna be a starter on the defense unless Jordan Battle just falls off. But I like what Duger brings for the locker room. Uh he's coming from two organizations that that have historically won, which is you know nice to have in the locker room. Solid peace, good-sized guy that plays safety. I think he can come down in the box and and help out, play some special teams as well. And uh maybe he'll uh allow the defense to do a better job at uh covering tight ends, uh, if if given that role a little bit. So uh just excited. I think it's kind of what we what we clamored for this offseason is having some vets mixed in there that you know aren't aren't stars, aren't necessarily a starter, but can add to the locker room, make a play here and there on it on a Sunday to to make us better. So really like the signing.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, big fan of that. We we've talked a lot about that, about adding depth. I think that kind of shows a clear sign between uh signing uh Brian Cook and then bringing him in. Uh, that safety was definitely one of our areas of opportunity this season. And so having some veterans in there along with probably some younger guys that'll probably be coming in, but we'll get to that on second, third, and fourth down. Brandt, first down, your Bengal updates.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, kind of building off what Brian's already talked about. Uh, looks like on that same day we signed Kyle Duggar, we signed Jasir Taylor, uh, fifth year guy out of wake. So uh really love that we're we're going after some depth on this team, and specifically he's gonna give us some depth at the nickel position. But uh Jasir played mainly for the Chargers. He was actually traded midseason to the Jets. So I thought that was an interesting move. But he's played in uh 57 games before he was traded to the Jets this past year. Just for those that don't know about Jasir, has 76 tackles in his career, one tackle for a loss, one interception, 21 tackles on special teams. So that's the big key thing to note, I think, there, is uh I think he's gonna help replace a little bit of the special teams loss that that we unfortunately lost when Tyson Anderson signed with Denver. So I love bringing in just here to compete at that nickel spot. Uh we'll see what we'll see what comes of that. I'm hoping actually we address that in the draft with uh a lot of guys, honestly, that can fill that position. But at least he'll give us some some special teams depth, uh, at the very least. So the other thing I would hit on, uh, I thought was really interesting, and this actually happened yesterday, fellas, but they cut Matt Lee, uh center, right? Our backup center, who we really liked when they drafted Matt Lee a couple years ago out of Miami. And uh I thought I thought Matt Lee really had a chance to be our future center, and I'm not really sure what happened last year. I know he was injured for most of the season, but I think it's a glaring hole now on this team. And you want to talk about backup center or backup interior offensive lineman and how much that has jumped up. I think that has jumped up big time in terms of needs for the draft. So uh I wish Matt Lee all the all the best in his future career wherever he lands, but yeah, Matt got cut and we need a backup center.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I uh that I thought was very interesting, especially because we have not really signed anybody. And then as well, we don't know what's gonna happen in the draft. Uh Ted Karris getting up there in age, and Matt at least being in the building and him being a draft pick. Uh, I thought I had heard a lot of good things about him, but yeah, interesting, interesting move on that side. Uh, the one that I'll cover uh for first down at the owners' meetings. I was selfishly, it was awesome to have him here in Arizona. Love the energy. The weather was ridiculous. Down at the Biltmore, it's a beautiful area. Uh, I'm sure the guys were pumped to be in the sun. Um, I love the fact that the coaches get together and there's kind of this. I wish that you videos and pictures wouldn't have surfaced and people just put their phones away, especially what's what's the the guy that works out with everybody? What's his name? Oh, I forget his name. But, anyways, um he was he was posting out videos, and I'd rather just stay kind of quiet, but I love that that the coaches have that kind of camaraderie. But this is really an event for the media to get in front of the owners, the general managers, and the coaches. And this only happens once a year. And before literally days leading up to it, Katie Blackburn says she will not be making herself available. I think it's cowardly. I think it shows lack of leadership, I think it shows lack of direction and lack of confidence in the decisions that she's making. Because when you're doing the right things, it's very easy, no matter how tough the questions come, to stand confidently and take that. Instead to make Duke Tobin take the bullets, Zach Taylor take the bullets all year long. Katie, it's time for you to get in front of the microphone and start taking some accountability for these moves you're making and not making for the team. And so, especially with I think Burrow being vocal and expecting and wanting to see the defense be better this year, uh, I thought it was very it was a missed opportunity for her as the leader of this organization to not stand up as a strong woman owner and to say, hey, we got a plan. We're excited. We love the guys we have, we're excited to build in, bring in new guys and get this thing and get a championship to Cincinnati. So a little disappointed, but the thing that gets me excited is the draft. Two weeks away, two weeks actually from tomorrow, Thursday. Uh, but like I said, we're second, third, and fourth down. We're gonna roll this all into one. Brandt's gonna run with first and third down. I mean third round picks. Brian's gonna run with second and fourth round picks. I'm gonna run with oh wait a minute, what did we say? Sorry.
SPEAKER_02No, I think that's spot on.
SPEAKER_00Yep. Did I say that right? Are we doing four rounds? Is that what we want to do tonight? Nope, we're gonna do all seven rounds, but let's see. Oh no, I'm sorry. We're gonna go. Brent, yeah, that's right. We're gonna do all, we're gonna do all, but Brant, you're gonna go first. Brian, you'll go second, I'll go third, and then we'll come back through uh on those rounds. Uh who wants the fourth, fifth, and sixth? You want to just keep going? Brant, fourth, brian, fifth. I'll take sixth.
SPEAKER_01Let's just stay in order.
SPEAKER_00Okay, let's do it. So again, we're using ProFootballNetwork.com. Super fun. You can pick the seven rounds on here. I apologize. It is slowing up our internet connection because there is so much commercials on this, which is probably why it's a free website uh for you those using it though, but an awesome, awesome website. Boy, boys, you can see the uh you can see the draft screen, correct?
SPEAKER_01Got it.
SPEAKER_00All right, let's do this. Let's let it roll. Let's see what happens. Brant, get us our first round pick. The draft is beginning. Brian, we need the music. All right, we're not gonna make any trades or any moves. We're just gonna take that we would pick at this point with the team uh and with these picks. And so, Brant, as you can see, some of the top players, you want to list them off there for us?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so looks like we got Jeremiah Love, running back out of Notre Dame, Caleb Downs, a lot of Bengals fans are gonna be happy about that one. Safety out of Ohio State, Monroe Freeling, tackle out of Georgia, and Jramad McCoy, I would say, uh cornerback out of Tennessee, are the top guys on this uh draft site that are still available. So we need to clarify, fellas, are we doing what we how we would pick or how the Bengals would pick?
SPEAKER_00I say we do what we would pick. We're the Houday All Day podcast. If the if if uh Mikey Brown wants to give us a call and help fill in on draft day with Duke, we can help make this selection.
SPEAKER_01I like it. I like it. So maybe I'm gonna throw a little curveball at you guys because you guys know I'm a defensive guy, and I love the thought of Caleb Downs and what he could bring, specifically to the safety room. And I would actually play him at nickel this first year. And I'm sorry, Jasir, you wouldn't you wouldn't be starting. It would definitely be Caleb Downs. Uh and I really like Jramon McCoy. I think from a man uh coverage perspective, if his knee is holding up what he did did at his pro day, I'd love to see him on the outside give us a third cornerback that could really lock things down. But fellas, from a from a quality standpoint, if Jeremiah Love is there, let's put up some points. Let's scare the crap out of everybody and get the best offensive player in this draft. And let's go Jeremiah Love and let's have some fun.
SPEAKER_00Oh, love it. I can't imagine the drama you're gonna create in uh in Houdayland, especially if Caleb Downs is there. I love it for a lot of reasons. One, in what my opinion, best offensive player in this draft. And uh for some of the running backs that have come out that are taking back over this league, Jeremiah Love is grading higher than them. I love this pick, Brant, on that. I love Caleb Downs, but I do think we can get a comparable, if not better, safety for us in the second or third round. So Jeremiah Love, Cincinnati Bengals, running back, Notre Dame, 10th overall pick. He's part of the family. All right, Brian, here we go. Second down coming your way. We'll see if this makes it run with uh simulators running. We'll get us to the second round. We'll get all these advertisements off of here.
SPEAKER_01So, real quick, I just love that the Bengals have done their homework on Jeremiah Love and brought him in for a 30 visit as well. So there's a chance. Yeah, there's a chance.
SPEAKER_00It's such a great point. It's such a great point. Yeah, I saw that uh he was in the building uh just this week. All right, Brian. Second round pick, running back Jeremiah Love's in the house. You see the board. Let me know if you want me to scroll down a little bit. You want to tell us some of the guys that are there?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and uh the highest rated player on the board uh is is Christian Miller, defensive tackle from Georgia. Uh Ty Simpson, we're not going quarterback in the second round, but he's there. Uh, and then a couple right wide receivers, and then down to the guy that I've got my eye on here at the 41st pick in the draft, and that is defensive tackle Lee Hunter from Texas Tech. Uh fills a need. We need a big daddy in our defensive tackle room. Uh, I love what he did at Tech. I think he uh right away improves our run defense. Uh, and if we're gonna roll with these young linebackers and not out of vet uh before the season starts, then let's get those boys some protection and keep blockers off of them. So uh here in the second round, I'm going with Lee Hunter out of Texas Tech, defensive tackle.
SPEAKER_00That that's quite the pick. I I uh one, I love our Texas Tech guy on there. I know he's a UCF transfer, but that guy seemed to really embrace the leadership role. And you're right, we haven't made a single move in the linebacker room, which means the only way to help them the best is get guys off of them. Brant, what do you think?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, anytime you can add a big war daddy like Lee Hunter, I'm all about it. So he actually gives you a little bit of juice in the pass rush department as well. Um, besides just plugging up uh the run game, which we know you know the Bengals are all about trying to stop the run, which is honestly gonna be super important in our division. I think with Todd Monkin being up in uh Cleveland, they're gonna want to run the ball more. And then uh, you know, Baltimore's gonna run the ball. Pittsburgh always wants to run the ball. So yeah, the more guys you can get to stop the run, uh, that leads to championship AFC North football.
SPEAKER_00Agree. Love that. Not the sexiest pick, uh, but I think fans would absolutely fall in love with this guy. All right, third round. I'll take this. Got a corner out of Arkansas. We got Grayson Halton, defensive tackle out of Oklahoma. Josiah Trotter, linebacker out of Missouri. One of my boys, Dunker, offensive, interior offensive line from Iowa. Uh, I think Jacoby Lane, wide receiver from USC, I think he's gonna be better than uh Makai that'll be drafted probably in the top 10 uh out of USC. Uh Jacoby's tough and he's a big, big target. Love him. Eli Stours, tight end Vanderbilt, great weapon. See some good pieces on here, but kind of following the theme on this. Uh, I love the Jeremiah Love pick because I think it continues to protect Burrow, uh, protecting those linebackers, getting a big daddy up front in uh in Lee Hunter. I know it's not the biggest of needs, but man, the more I watch this guy on tape, Jennings Dunker, and what a mullet he has, especially losing Matt Lee. I think anything we can do to continue to strengthen that interior line, I think this guy can play four of the five line positions in a bind. And so I'm gonna go the mullet, Jennings Dunker, interior offensive line, University of Iowa, third round pick, Cincinnati Bengals.
SPEAKER_02Let's go.
SPEAKER_01That hair was made for a Bengals helmet.
SPEAKER_00Say that again.
SPEAKER_01His hair was made for a Bengals helmet.
SPEAKER_00Oh gosh, yeah. Yeah, fans will absolutely love, they'll be like, who? And then they'll see that guy and be like, oh yeah, we got a winner in this one. All right, back to Brandt, fourth round pick. Let's see who's on the board, Brandt.
SPEAKER_01All right, boys. Uh we have to go defense here. Yeah, we have to go defense here. We we've got two offensive players in our first three picks, which I don't think a lot of Bengals fans will be too happy about, quite honestly. Uh, so some interesting guys. We got Bud Clark safety that's available. Eli Stowers tight end from uh Vanderbilt, which uh he's not my flavor of tight end, but uh tested really well. Uh Caleb Proctor's gaining a lot of steam as a defensive tackle out of Louisiana, but we already got one of those. Let's scroll down a little bit more. I'm a big Cage Casey fan, but since we already got Dunker, I would pass.
SPEAKER_00Cage Casey's a good one. Yeah, if he's there in the fourth and we take somebody else big in the third, I agree. I like that one.
SPEAKER_01So Romelo Height is interesting from an edge perspective. I think he can give you some pass juice, a pass rush juice. Kyle Lewis, uh, really good coverage linebacker. I don't think the Bengals are gonna be in on him, though. I'm trying to look. There's one guy. I'm wondering if he's still available. Can we look at positions? What uh what position? Let's go. Uh I think he's listed as an edge. All right, let's see what we got. I want to see edge and I want to see corner specifically. So oh there he is. So one hit he's 151 on this board. Jay Sean Barum. So specifically, uh Al Golden's talked about bringing in possibly a guy that could really kind of play that Sam linebacker role. Where really we had Knight playing this year, then he's not really made for that position. Uh, you know, really rushing the prasser more, being on the line of scrimmage. And Barum's kind of a tweener. He's 6'3, 240, 250, but really really good at coming downhill. So I think I think if you're looking for that type of player, I mean, I think the Bengals couldn't do much better than him, besides Jake Golday. I think those are the two guys. If you're looking to fill that position, those are the two guys. I like Derek Moore, too, who's available right now for the other uh edge from Michigan. Let's see who is that uh corner. Chandler Rivers is a really good slot uh option, I think. Had really good production at Duke. Uh Price Ock is is huge. Uh corner out of Washington, but who I think we can get some serviceable corner depth, maybe with our sixth round picks. So I'm gonna go borrow them, guys. And let's fill that linebacker role so we can free up Knight and get him uh at his off-ball position. Let's go uh let's go get the quarterback.
SPEAKER_00Let's do it. Absolutely love that. Yeah, Barham's one of those uh playmakers. I'm hoping that Al Golden is looking for and is looking. We didn't really have a ton of guys like him on the roster, hopefully looking to be more creative. Yeah, I like that. Brian, what do you think?
SPEAKER_02No, anything we can never have too many pass rushers, and if it allows uh, like Brandt said, Knight to do what he does best, I'm all for it. Put these guys in position to to do what you know what they're great at.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, absolutely love that. That's one of the things I think too, hopefully maybe Al Gordon will learn from his first year is giving these guys uh findings guys that uh match his uh what he's looking to do game plan wise with their best skill set. I didn't think we did enough of that this last year. All right, the draft is taking its sweet time here, so we will uh keep giving us give us some more uh love on Barham there, uh Brant and Bryan.
SPEAKER_01Well, can we just say that we have to.
SPEAKER_00trade back at some point just so we don't have to go through this huge lull between the fourth round and the sixth round because man it is I mean it is snooze fest as you're sitting here and watching this thing scroll so yeah there's a I have a feeling I don't you think that this is the draft in the middle of the round I wouldn't mind moving around for I think there could be a classic Duke Tobin second round drop back pick up that fifth round pick maybe a extra fourth later in the fourth just so there isn't as much separation between our fourth and sixth I could definitely see that happening I think too I think there's a lot of teams that uh will get quarterback hungry after Ty Simpson uh and obviously Mendoza are off the board wherever they fall Mendoza will be the one number one pick but uh I think after that it'll be very interesting to see like if teams are like look I'm just gonna go get that quarterback right now I like him and I'm willing to to move up for it it'll be interesting.
SPEAKER_01Who do you think they'll be moving up for Nussmeyer?
SPEAKER_00Yeah Nussmeyer uh and I think Cade Klubnik I mean those guys were first round caliber in people's eyes coming into the season and clearly uh didn't live up to the hype but have the skill sets there's some uh there's some word out there about there's a lot of people loving Cole Payton boy from North Dakota State yeah yeah he's an athlete I like uh Troy Lance's little brother a little bit better as a prospect there he played wideout up there oh Bryce Lance yeah yeah he can run yeah really there's uh the kid from uh Arkansas too he's in that same kind of category got him out of a lot of trouble wasn't the best passer clearly an athletic quarterback but I think teams kind of like that as a backup quarterback or a uh potential project uh Taylon Green is that you're talking about yep that kid is an athlete you want to talk about running and jumping out of the gym all right Brian uh we're up to pick 189 which is our fifth pick uh but some of the names you want to list them off that uh kind of catch your eye here yeah uh let's see what we've got the guy that's uh that's standing out to me I felt the uh I felt the second round uh my first pick was a little too early um for this position and I know we brought grandpa back to back up uh one Joseph Lee Burrow but uh Mr. Oler from Prince State is is pretty tempting here in the fifth round and uh you know it doesn't doesn't necessarily help us on the field from a week to week basis but this is the NFL unfortunately uh we know all too well as Bengals fans that quarterbacks go down and so you know what I'm gonna I'm gonna pull the trigger here and I'm gonna take a quarterback and Drew Aller from Penn State I love that brand what do you think yeah I I well I mean from a longevity standpoint we we need somebody in the pipeline right like I just don't think old man joe is going to be around for more than a year so you need a third third quarterback that you can hopefully develop and you know Aller I think was a little underwhelming in some regards at Penn State but you can't you can't knock his just guy given ability he's huge uh he's got a big arm you know unfortunately but he had that was it an ankle or a uh a leg break or something this year that kind of shortened his season but kick and throw the ball so yeah I'll say I'm gonna be very selfish here uh we're at pick 199 which is our sixth pick um I know we've brought some safeties into the building uh but I am taking a man that I absolutely loved watching in person a couple times uh Jacoby Thomas safety from Miami uh I know I think Brian had commented he was worried about his uh his tackling uh I think this is a guy that could be our special teams assassin uh and so I will take Jacoby as our safety with the pick number 199. Leaves us two picks left in the seventh round I'm gonna go over who we got and then I'm gonna let you guys start kind of through this list. But we've got running back defensive tackle offensive line an edge quarterback and a safety or you guys leaning for these next two picks what kind of player I mean I think we'll cast America is a really interesting tight end if you want to talk about replacing Drew Sample he's your guy from a blocking standpoint the kid can block uh transferred in from uh Ohio University the Bobcats OU representing so love that he's an fellow OU alum got Jeff Caldwell that's available which Caldwell tested out of this world at the combine uh you don't mind scrolling down a little bit more mike of course you see anybody Brian that you I like uh you know when you're getting into the seventh round you're looking for guys with with traits uh everyone's gonna have their their scars or their you know their weakness but uh I like that you pointed out Caldwell um there's not a lot of receivers that are 6'5 215 that they can run like he can he may not only he may only be able to run in a straight line or run two routes but if he if he runs those well you can't teach you can't teach size and you can't teach speed uh I also like uh Diego pounds from from old miss uh I think he's got some traits as well at at tackle and I think you could you could coach him up and maybe find a steal in the seventh round that could end up being your swing tackle uh maybe not this year but I think he's got some ability there we have gone pretty offensive heavy uh surprisingly in the draft but those are the two guys that that stand stand out and uh I don't think there's anything wrong with uh adding fuel to the fire uh you know making your strength even stronger so I'd be more comfortable with those two guys one of those two guys I've got one more to add to the add to the list and I didn't think he was still available because I think he's gonna be gone before uh this pick that we got but Caden Curry he's a little bit of a from Ohio State yeah the edge from ohio state so I don't know he's still on there I think Mike I think I saw him yep he's a little bit of a poor man Sam Hubbard so are we so are we at this point are you looking I like what Brian said about traits um or are you going hey I've already gotten an edge I've got a defensive tackle I want another guy in that mix or are you just going best available that you have seen that you like what's kind of your because I think two I'd like to see us take a corner at this point I like that thought but I I'm not considering uh Barum a an edge he's playing Sam backer for me so um Caden Curry would slot into that backup uh Miles Murphy role for me stopping the run yeah really just all out effort that's what I love about watching him that kid never gives up on a play and I think he'd be perfect in a backup role as well and I think he's gonna give you ton on special teams so I'd be all about Caden Curry and building a little bit of depth at my edge spot and then I I I think I love what you're talking about.
SPEAKER_01We need a corner this team needs some corner depth too but it'd be hard for me to pass on Caden Curry right now.
SPEAKER_00Sounds like Caden Curry's the pick let's take a look at the uh corners that we got left I'm gonna I'm gonna there's one that I I like that I watched uh play because he played in the Mountain West uh but Al Zillion Hamilton very underrated corner from Fresno ball hawk always around the ball not afraid to tackle I would definitely watch them tape on him that'd be a guy I would take a look at in the seventh round as a corner how about you guys yeah I don't know much I haven't read up much on Hamilton yet but I love what you're telling me like it's all about let's let's get some turnovers let's get the ball back for our offense and now that we got you know Jeremiah Love running it down people's throats get him the ball back absolutely Brian anybody else in the secondary um no not really I I I too like Hamilton um if I'm not going uh you know part of it is I might be looking at uh it does come down to the player but I'm looking at program as well uh you know coaches that are where they've been well coached uh kid from Alabama that's on there that pops out to me as well know that you know that he played in the SEC and he was well coached Alabama's been a traditionally good program as well uh so there's a lot of guys there core like if we're looking to take a corner that I'd be uh so the kid from Alabama is Damani Jackson um so I those would be the guys I'm looking at do you guys know what happened with him this year at Alabama because he had a really good la year last year and I thought he was going to come out last year and if he comes out last year I think he's drafted in the fourth or fifth round at least I don't know what may have happened sounds like somebody we need to take a uh a flyer on I forgot he's a transfer for uh from USC yeah I remember watching him last year and and he could I mean he could man up on the outside which I think is what a lot of what Al Golden wants to get to so we can do a little bit more stunning bring a little bit more blitz uh with his defensive packages so but I'm I'm I love what you're saying about Hamilton too so I could go either or can we just go back to the oh sorry oh we got oh we got Damani Jackson I apologize I clicked on it anybody else any other positions you were thinking about I was just interested to see who was still left uh on the board just in general well it's moving pretty slow and I apologize too much uh service going on between us streaming and then sharing this and streaming back and forth but I like the mindset of where you guys are at just a quick review for everybody uh that was listening on here but the uh the Houday all day uh first mock draft went as such uh first round pick Jeremia Love running back from Notre Dame second round pick defensive tackle Lee Hunter Texas Tech third round uh Duncan interior offensive line from Iowa fourth round uh barham edge slash what would you really call him Brant I think he's gonna be in that that same backer role so we're gonna bring five guys under line of scrimmage he'll be on the line of scrimmage and and uh put pressure on the quarterback and hopefully stop the run a little bit and take on those double teams we struggle with yeah totally 189 we took uh quarterback Drew Aller to be our third quarterback in the room safety uh Jacoby from uh Thomas from uh from Miami from the U. Uh we took Caden Curry uh Edge from Ohio State and then as well uh what's our boy from uh thank you from uh from Alabama corner I like the room look I know you don't draft for need uh but I also think you draft at that point like look I've taken like I like to I think it was Brian that was saying hey we've taken a couple offensive players I like to build up the defensive room a little bit if things are even at the end of the draft I like to bring hey where there's a little bit more need in the roster uh for competition but I like that I like the picks I think they make the roster better I think they're a fit for best available and some needs. Brant what do you think?
SPEAKER_01Yeah I think we spread around a lot of you know quality players uh at we got pretty good value but also filled a lot of needs right I think if you're really looking at it uh objectively I I think I would have hoped to have got a possibly a developmental uh tackle that could really be a swing tackle I think we might not have that but yeah like you said maybe you can play gunker you know maybe he can kind of fill that role for you uh you know I think I would have liked to maybe have found a backup middle linebacker as well but we need more picks if we're gonna do all these you can't fill all the all the holes but I'm really happy with the draft I'm excited about getting Jeremiah love and boys people people are gonna put have to put up 45 points to beat us Brian you know I I'm going over those picks and uh I you get excited about the you know the the first first and second round naturally as as fans but the pick that I'm loving is is Caden Curry out of Ohio State uh you don't you don't just fall into 11 sacks in the Big Ten.
SPEAKER_02It doesn't just happen by chance. And I know he's playing with talented guys on that defensive line but that still he's got to make the effort uh you can tell that guy just plays um I don't know how else to say it besides balls out. I mean that guy's just high motor like you like Brandt said reminds you a little bit of Sam Hubbard maybe a little leaner may actually be a little bit better of a pass rusher maybe not as strong against the run but uh love those guys football you can tell you can't always tell on tape uh what's really in between the ears and and and in the chest but you can tell that guy loves football uh doesn't want to come off the field uh I I remember he bet he was one of the guys battling to the end against Indiana in the Big Ten championship so uh yeah I I I kind of get excited about that pick out of all of them.
SPEAKER_00And I love that and that's what we want you fans to get the passion and enjoy and understand because so many fans talk about players years after they finally produced they have no idea where they came from they didn't see when they were drafted late or maybe an under an unrestricted free agent but there will be guys that will be available on day two and three that can and will impact this team that's why the three of us take the draft so serious we know it's important to hit up top but it's also to build that roster with the superstars that we have it is the Caden Curries that that like Brian is uh is is talking about on there and then using a bar hand more uh appropriately a guy from Michigan playing at at a at a quality school like that but guys I'm pumped two weeks out we'll see if we can do this one more time maybe we'll find figure out how to tighten it up with the uh so it doesn't take up so much of the streaming on there uh but we can we can keep it going because I think the the core is there I sent it both to you very excited to get some feedback on this and what people think two weeks out let's get better guys good to see both of you let's get back to this and uh let's get ready to get back into playoff mode you guys the best food all day all day
