Dimensions August 15 2025 Beware of Distractions
Well, it's been a great week thus far here on Dimensions. And listen, we're going to go out with a bang on this Friday. I've got something I need to talk to you about for just a moment, because I believe some of y'all have set your face like Flint. You've made a decision to make some adjustments and changes in your life. You're going to start doing some coaching, get some mentorship. You're going to start pressing towards the mark Now. I've got to give you some warnings. You're going to start doing some coaching, get some mentorship. You're going to start pressing towards the mark Now. I got to give you some warnings. You got to be aware of distractions, things that take you away from the main thing. You ever heard it said like this you got to keep the main thing, the main thing. Well, that's what we about to get into here on Dimensions. I'm Jay Anthony Gilbert. I'm so glad that you've taken time out of your schedule to hang out with me.
Speaker 1:On another level, I am so looking forward to getting into what God is going to say today. Give us this day our daily bread. I hope you got up early this morning, spent some time with the Lord, drew close to Him. Why? Because, as you get connected to Him, you're gonna produce much fruit. The Bible says in John 15 and verse number five without me you can do nothing. And listen. Now that we've spent that time in the presence of God, going throughout our day doing what we do, listen, now you can wrap up your day today with the word of God and get ready for a great weekend. In Jesus name. Now listen before we go any further.
Speaker 1:As always, I need you to like, subscribe, follow, share all of that good stuff. Help us get dimensions out there everywhere that people can get ahold of this and hear what God is saying. We're helping people keep oil in their lamps, love in their hearts and sin and leaven out of their life preparing for the return of Christ. You do realize we are the only generation preparing for an evacuation, not a habitation. That's right. Jesus Christ is coming back soon and we've got to be ready. So God said I want you to get on there five days a week. Y'all realize that every day, monday through Friday, 8.30 PM, you can get in on this and hear what the Lord is saying to the church and saying to you and to me in Jesus name. So every day, monday through Friday, 830 pm. We're going to be right here bringing the word of the Lord. I'm so excited to get into it today as well. And then also, don't forget, if you miss us, you can always subscribe.

You'll always be on another dimension because you'll be with us and we'll be with you wherever it is that you go.
Speaker 1:So now that we've gotten all of that out of the way, let's get into the word today, because I feel there's something that God's put in my spirit. You got to be aware of distractions. God's been speaking to us all week about the importance of having a mentor in our lives, the importance of coaching, the importance of having somebody to help us to grow and develop. I am tired of the body of Christ living beneath their privileges. I'm tired of the body of Christ constantly needing healing. I'm tired of the body of Christ being busted and disgusted. I'm tired of all that, and I know you are too, and that's why you're tuning in. And I believe that God wants us to grow up in the things of him and become the best version of ourselves that he's called us to be, and that's why we need mentorship, that's why we need coaching, that's why we need discipleship.
Speaker 1:Remember, discipleship is not an event, it's not a class. It's a lifelong journey that you're always learning and growing and developing. You're always going onward and upward. You're always pressing towards the mark of the prize of the high calling, forgetting those things that are behind and reaching for those things that are ahead. Paul said I press towards the mark of the prize of the high.
Speaker 1:You do realize, sometimes in life you got to press. Sometimes it's difficult and you got to press, which leads me right into what I'm talking about. You got to be aware of distractions. When pressure comes, you have to learn how to press. You've got to learn how to press in this day and in this hour. I press towards the mark of the prize of the high calling.
Speaker 1:See, what happens is, people usually start the race off real well, but then what happens? Distractions come, pressure comes, and then you know what we do we stop and we deviate from the course. We stop doing the thing that God has called us to do, and that is the devil's number one job. Remember the commanded blessing always resides where the command is. You have to be obedient to the command in order to get the blessing, and listen. That's why I want to encourage you today that you have what's called singleness of vision. Keep the main thing, the main thing. What has God told you to do? What has God spoken? And there are many of you, and I've made it very, very clear, and through the scriptures this week, that I believe it is so important that we are a people that are being discipled.
Speaker 1:Whatever is coming into the earth the deception, the darkness, the coldness. Matthew, chapter 24, talks about how, because lawlessness would abound, that the love of many would grow cold. God doesn't want you to grow cold in this season. God wants you to be rooted and grounded. The Bible says once again I will shake everything, and everything that can be shaken will be shaken. We are in a season where God is going to shake things up and you want to make sure you're rooted and grounded. You want to make sure that your soul has been anchored in the Lord, that your mind is anchored in the word, that you are full of the Holy Ghost, that you are full of power, that you are full of his presence, that you are full of his joy, that you are full of his peace, that you are full of his love, that you're full of his presence, because you're gonna need it in this day and hour and you're not called just to survive.
Speaker 1:Come on, ladies and gentlemen, you are called to thrive in this season. God wants you to be salt, he wants you to be light, he wants you to be a witness, he wants you to be a blessing wherever it is that you go, and you can only have that, and grounded that only comes to people that have been discipled, that have been mentored, that have been developed, and that's what God wants for you today. Don't just go and sit in church, don't just go there and be a body, don't just go there and serve in church. Go there, get mentored, get discipled, let somebody walk with you, humble yourself, get under somebody, develop a teachable spirit and let people begin to pour into your life the grace of God that'll help you develop and become the best version of yourself that God has called you to be. This truly is the season. The wall of creation is waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God. Oh, I believe with all of my heart that right now you're listening and you're watching, because the glory of God is coming upon your life and you're not called to just be a reflector, but you are called to be a possessor of the anointing and the glory of God. That's why the devil is fighting you and is attacking you the way that he is. It's because there's anointing upon your life that the devil wants to snuff out. But I'm here today to encourage you, to tell you get taught, get discipled, get mentored, so what God has put in you remember every prophecy, every anointing is dormant potential.
Speaker 1:You still have to work out your own salvation. You got to work out. You got to get in the gym. You've got to press. Come on somebody. You've got to press. And sometimes the devil will come in with negative thoughts. Sometimes the devil will send negative people. Sometimes the devil will send things into your life to say get off track and get distracted. Do all these things. But don't do that. Set your face like Flint.
Speaker 1:Now there are times that you have to be willing to take a step back. There are things that happen in life. Maybe you're working out and you're doing your thing and then one day your body gets sick. You got to take a break. But as soon as you get back in, get right back in. Maybe you're going through some things in your family and God told you to do some things and some things popped up and now you've got to address those things. You've got to get back. You've got to address those things. You've got to get back. You've got to come back to that place. You've got to realign. You've got to get back to where God has called you to be, because the commanded blessing, ladies and gentlemen, is where the command is, and that's why it's so important not to be distracted.
Speaker 1:Don't be distracted in the season. If God's told you to be in church, oh yes, the devil's going to send wherever he can hit you to stop you from being there. Why? Because if you get there, everything else will work. Everything will work when you're not distracted. Now I need you to do me a favor. I need you to go with me.
Speaker 1:I believe it is a Luke chapter 10. I didn't plan on going here, but I believe this is it. Yeah, luke, chapter 10, 38 to 42. Now I wanna show you what I mean by distractions. Don't be distracted, even when you're being discipled. Don't be distracted. There are things, yes, you gotta deal with. There are things that will happen in your life. There are things that you have to deal with. There are things that'll come up. There are things that are distractions, but watch this. This is the reason why it's so important to be prayed up. When you're prayed up, you avoid distractions. Now let me show you why. Because when you're prayed up and walking in the spirit, you see everything through a spiritual lens. So when things come, you realize why they're there, because you see it through the mind of Christ. Now, watch this.
Speaker 1:The number one way that the devil will start with distraction in your life is prayerlessness, prayerlessness. You ready Type this in? The number one way that the devil will start with distraction in your life is prayerlessness, prayerlessness. You ready Type this in the chat. Prayerlessness is the door to distractions. Prayerlessness is the door to distractions. Why is that? Because the devil will send things. Watch this. He will send things of value, but he will misprioritize them. He will send things watch this. He will send things of value, but he will misprioritize them. He will send things of your way that are valuable, that have importance, but he will misprioritize them.
Speaker 1:Let me show you what I mean. Here's a distraction. You're in the middle of praying you ever done this Been? In the middle of praying and 50 million things come to your mind that you need to do. 50 million things come to your mind that you need to do. 50 million things come to your mind that you need to do. So you know what I do. I start training the devil Devil. If you're telling me all those things, well, I'm going to do it just while I'm in prayer. I'm just going to write them down. Thank you for reminding me, but I'm going to keep on praying. I don't start going and doing them. I don't start learning. I'll put them down and then I'll go from there. Why he wants you to get up and go and do something else.
Speaker 1:If God calls you to fast on a certain day, it is amazing. I'll just be totally transparent. When God is calling me to fast, I will have energy. And he called me to seek his face. I don't mean just to go without food, I mean fast and seek his face and read the word and study. I will have energy to do a million things. I mean a million and one things will come to my mind. Man, I got to get this done, I got to get this done and I'll just suddenly have all this energy to go get this, that and a third. That is carnality. That is a distraction, but when you are prayed up you can recognize those distractions and it doesn't veer to the left or right. When you're not prayed up, you'll start thinking that thing is the Lord. You'll start thinking that you need to do that thing. You'll start thinking, oh, my goodness, I can't go to church.
Speaker 1:The devil, what you're supposed to be in church, have your family in church and guess what the devil will do? He will send things on Friday and Saturday preparing you for Sunday. So then you're so up late and you're all frustrated and you can't get up in the morning you sleep through your alarm. Listen, ladies and gentlemen, when God makes something a priority in, the devil always sends things of value but misprioritizes them. He will cause a number four to be a number one and make the number one be a number four. He will cause a three to be a two. He'll put everything. The devil is a devil when he is leading you away from the will of God. He will take things out of order in your life.
Speaker 1:Keep the main thing, the main thing Whatever God has spoken to you to do, whatever he has called you to do, I'm here prophetically to tell you to do it, and don't be distracted. If he told you to go to church, be in church. If he told you to budget your money, budget your money. If he told you to get up and pray, get up and pray. If he told you to have a date night, have a date night. Whatever he told you to do, stay committed, why the commanded blessing is always where the command is. Where has the spirit of the Lord commanded your life? Stick with it, stay with it. Yeah, I said with it. Stay with it. Don't veer to the left, don't veer to the left, don't veer to the right. Be steadfast, unmovable.
Speaker 1:Now look at what happens when you're not prayed up, when you're not at the feet of Jesus how you will get distracted in your life. Look at Luke 10, verse number 38. Now what happened is they went that he entered a certain village and a certain woman named Martha welcomed him into her house. Wow, I'm going to show you something here in a minute. And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus' feet and heard his words, but Martha was distracted with much serving. I got to do this, I got to do this. I got to go here. I got to do that. She approached him and said Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me alone to serve? Therefore, tell her to help me. Jesus answered some powerful verses right here. Martha, martha said it twice. When God speaks twice, it's because he needs to get your attention. You are worried. One passage says you are anxious and troubled about many things. Look at this many things, verse 42,. But one thing is needed and Mary has chosen that good part which will not be taken away from her. Now look at this. Jump back up into verse 38. Look at how powerful this is. And a certain woman named Martha welcomed Jesus into verse 38. Look at how powerful this is. And a certain woman welcomed. A certain woman named Martha welcomed Jesus into her house.
Speaker 1:You can have Jesus in your home and not be aware of why he's there. You can have the blessing in your house and not appropriate it correctly. You can have Jesus in your life, in your home, and you're sitting there. He come to visit you and you are completely distracted with the number one reason why he's in your house my good God, almighty. What does that mean? The presence of God can show up in your life. God can give you certain things. He'll show you what Jesus visits your house with, whatever it is that he visits you with, and then you're so busy doing everything else. It's like, wait a minute, you should be sitting at his feet and you can tell when you're distracted because you start blaming other people. Why do I know that? Now, watch this.
Speaker 1:When you are offended with other people because people are not helping you, most of the time you are out of order. Hmm, preach Pastor Jay, I'm trying. Every time you have something in your life where you are offended and mad at people, they won't help me. They won't do this. 99% of the time you are out of order. Why? Because if you are doing it as unto the Lord, it doesn't matter if other people help you or not. It doesn't mean you can't ask for help. What it means is that you're serving their. Serving is not a predicament based upon how you feel about your serving, because Martha was troubled and anxious about all these things. She's serving and doing all this stuff. She's like somebody help me. She's frustrated, she's angry, something was out of order. And what did Jesus say? You are troubled and anxious about many things, but Mary has chosen the one thing singleness of vision. Singleness of vision. She chose the one thing that was important and she made sure that was done.
Speaker 1:Matthew 6, 33, very, very powerful passage of Scripture Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added. Let's go over there, matthew 6. Let's actually start here, in verse number 19. Verse number 19, and we're going to jump around a little bit, and it says do not lay up for yourself treasures on earth where moth and rust destroy, where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourself treasures in heaven where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, where thieves do not break in and steal, for where your treasure is there, your heart will be also Wow. So don't seek after the things of the earth. Don't seek after the things, don't be distracted.
Speaker 1:And then he goes to. The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore, your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness and therefore, the light that is in you is darkness. How great is that darkness? So keep your eye. He said listen, if what's illuminating your vision is dark, your whole body, your whole life is going to be out of order. He said have singleness In one place. It actually says the lamp of the body, of the eye. If, therefore, your eye is single, your whole body will be full of light. And what he's saying by single if your eye is focused on the right thing, everything will be full of light.
Speaker 1:No one can serve two masters, for either you will hate the one and love the other, or else you'll be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon and I call mammon stuff you can't serve God, you can't do what God's called you to do and still seek after things. Look at, therefore. Now he moves on. Therefore, I say to you do not worry about your life, what you're going to eat, what you're going to drink, nor about your body. What you will put on Is not life more than food and body more than raiment.
Speaker 1:And then he looks down at verse 27, which of you, by worrying, could add one cubits to his stature? So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They neither toil nor spin. And yet I say to you that even Solomon, in all his glory, was not arrayed like one of these. Now, if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today isn't tomorrow's stone, into the oven, how much more will he clothe you? Oh, you have little faith. He ever thought about that? No bird ever goes without a meal. Think about that for a minute.
Speaker 1:I was out a couple of days ago at a restaurant and I was eating outside and all these birds and I was thinking about and not that people should litter, but I thought about how the food that's left on the ground. Did you ever think about this? That that's God's way of using provision for the birds? Think about it. Somebody leaves a piece of bread, somebody leaves something on a table. Birds come along and pick it up. Do you realize what that is? Is God's provision to them? Now, that doesn't mean we should leave food out on the table and food, that's not my point, but I was looking at that and I began to see it through a different perspective, if we can begin to look at things through a different eye, through a spiritual eye.
Speaker 1:That's why I'm saying it's so important to be prayed up. You can't have victory in this life, you can't walk by faith, you can't walk in the spirit, without being prayed up. You have to spend time in the presence of God. Your lunch, it's just that simple, and you cause you will not be able to accurately discern.
Speaker 1:I'm sitting there eating and I'm watching the birds and this scripture comes to my mind and Lord said look at that. That person left that food. That's my provision for those birds. They, they, they they'll hang around outside of a restaurant where people will drop crumbs, and those crumbs are the provision of the father for the birds, and nobody has to go.
Speaker 1:Oh my gosh, we gotta make sure we got food for the birds. God makes sure they have what they need. My good God. And if he takes care of the birds, hallelujah, if he takes care of them to make sure they're fed, how much more is he gonna take care of you? Oh ye, of little faith. So that's the reason why I say don't get distracted with things. Don't get distracted with things. Don't get distracted with the job. People all the time they're willing to leave church. If God feeds the birds, he's got a job for you.
Speaker 1:The problem is we don't trust the Lord enough to believe he'll take care of us. But look at the birds, he said. Consider the birds, consider the lilies of the field. They don't toil nor spin, but yet still God clothes them. God takes care of the birds. Why won't he take care of you? Oh, you have little faith. He purchased you by his blood and you are eternal. He's going to provide, but there is a method to it. You have to have singleness of vision. The devil wants you to be worried. Look at this here, verse number 31. Therefore, he's saying realizing all these things that I just broke down to you, don't worry. What are we going to eat, what shall we drink, what shall we wear? Look at verse 32. You are not this, but this is the warning. For after all these things do the Gentiles seek the unbeliever, the ungodly, the worldlings, the people that are driven by carnality, the people that are the non-Christians, the people that have lost their focus? That is the Gentile way of thinking. That's why people want to have their eyes. They got to have the newest clothes. They got to. They're living for this planet and this planet is dying every day.
Speaker 1:I was watching a video. It was called Life After People and it talks about how. What would the planet be like if people immediately vanished? What would happen to it? And, it's funny, how the earth would begin to crumble. Everything that man built will die. Do you realize?
Speaker 1:Everything, ladies and gentlemen, on this planet is dying. Man is in the process of keeping alive what is eventually going to be destroyed. We struggle, we strive, even our bodies. We fight to keep our bodies healthy. We want to stay young. It's going to die. It is going to die, you are going to die one day. All of us are going to die. It's appointed unto man once to die and then to judgment.
Speaker 1:Everything in this planet every car, every house, every vehicle, every plane, every restaurant is going to crumble, they said. When men leave all of a sudden, the buildings would begin to collapse and within 100 or 200 years, pretty much there'd be nothing left on the planet. The animals would overrun it, trees and weeds would begin. Everything would begin to crumble. Everything would begin to fall apart. Everything that man built would begin to crumble and perish.
Speaker 1:Why? Because it's all dying, and that's why Jesus said don't seek after this, because it's dying. It is dying, it is going to. Yes, it's here for a season, but it's all going to be died. The house I'm sitting in right now one day will be gone. The body I'm in one day will be gone. Everything that you're seeking after one day will be gone. Only what you do for Christ will last. We do, and it doesn't mean we shouldn't be healthy, it doesn't mean we shouldn't take care of our body, but it should not have the priority over eternal things. Lord Jesus, help us today to keep the main thing, the main thing, to stay eternal in our focus, to stay eternal in our thinking, to stay eternal in our passions. Why All of this is crumbling, all of this is perishing.
Speaker 1:People spend thousands and thousands of dollars to lift, to nip, to tuck, to enhance, to grow, to get bigger lips, to get bigger backsides, to get bigger chest. Now we got liposuction. We've got all these things, people doing everything they can, facelifts, and nothing wrong with those things. My point is people live for them and they become misprioritized. The devil, the devil, always wants you to misprioritize the things of God. Seek ye first. Look at this here, for after all these things the Gentiles seek for, heavenly father knows that you have need of all these things and he takes care of the birds. Go and take care of you. Don't misprioritize the kingdom Verse 33, one of my favorite life scriptures but seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, his way of doing things, and all these things will be added. Oh God, that we would have the ability to seek first the kingdom. Oh God that we would have the ability today to shut everything else out and to keep the main thing, the main thing. That we would not become distracted and troubled and so busy serving, trying to keep everything together, like Martha, trying to do this and trying to do that, trying to keep this life together, knowing that it is fading, that it is dying. God will take care of that. You just take care of the kingdom. Take care of the kingdom and all these things will be added. He'll take care of all of the rest.
Speaker 1:Be in church, be in prayer, make him a priority, tithe yes, I said it, tithe. Give God 10%, sow your finances, do what God has asked you to do and watch everything be added into your life. Many times, whenever the devil distracts you, watch it. He distracts to divide, he distracts to subtract. So he distracts to divide and he distracts to subtract. But if you will have singleness of vision, god will multiply and add to your life.
Speaker 1:But what do we do? We focus on all these other things. What did God tell you to do? Sometimes just one or two things, and the devil will fight you tooth and nail to oh my goodness. He will fight you because he knows if you do that one thing, he's not a match for you. Do you realize? Your blessing and breakthrough is in not being distracted.
Speaker 1:Beware of distractions. Beware of things that keep you from prayer, beware of things that keep you from the house of God. Beware of things that keep you from the command of God. What is the command? See, there's commands in the word, but then there's commands that he gives you personally through your personal relationship with him. What has he asked you to do? Do it, and that's what will happen. People will get to that point and then they'll be led astray and be off in the middle of nowhere, not understanding that God wants them to do the one thing.
Speaker 1:Today is the day for alignment. I want to encourage you today Get aligned in the things of God, get aligned in the word of God. Do the thing he's told you to do and God will multiply Some of you that is simply being discipled. Get into that In our church. That is our focus. It's not building programs, it's building people. Jesus never built programs, he built people. And in my job as a pastor and as a ministry, we are going to build people.
Speaker 1:If you're looking for a church that builds people so you can become the best version of yourself, you just found it. If you're looking for a church and a ministry where people are striving for the presence of God, where the spirit of God moves, where prophecy, signs and wonders, healings, deliverances, breakthroughs, miracles begin to happen in the house of God, you just found it. But that's because we're a people that have singleness of vision. We are focused on the kingdom of God. Would you join with me today in focusing on the kingdom? Keep his kingdom first and everything else will be added.
Speaker 1:Father, I bless your people today From the tops of their head to the soles of their feet. Father, god, I pray the blessing of Almighty God to be upon them today. That Lord, wherever they're distracted, that this would be a day where they would get back into alignment with you. So, lord, anoint them, fill them, saturate them, give them all that they need, and, father, we thank you and we give you the praise, the honor and the glory. Forgive us, father, where we have been distracted, and help us to realign today. In Jesus' name, we pray, amen, amen, amen.
