Setting The Theme: Falling Away

Great falling away. If you haven't noticed by now that many people are falling away from the faith, people are turning, giving heed to seducing spirits, the Bible says, and doctrines of devils. People are falling away. The love of many is waxing cold as the return of Christ comes. Today I want to talk to you about part two of Signs of the Times, the great falling away. So you can take heed to how the world is slowly drifting away. And then the church is drifting further and further away from the things of God, the pseudo-church. But those that are Christ, the Bible says they will endure to the end. I know you're going to be blessed by this because this is a prophetic snapshot of what's happening in the world today and how you can avoid the great falling away. Because it's happening all around us. Preachers are falling away, prophets are falling away, musicians and singers are falling away, church people are falling away. But you know what? If your soul is built on nothing less than Jesus' blood and righteousness, you're going to be just fine. So you're not going to want to miss this episode of Dimensions. The signs of the times. And I believe today I want to talk to you about the great falling away. Now, what I need you to do is go with me to 2 Thessalonians chapter 2. 2 Thessalonians chapter 2, we're going to start in verse number one. This is where the scripture comes from. It says, now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, look at that. And our gathering together to him, we ask you not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means. For that day, speaking of the rapture, will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts him above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple and showing himself that he is God. Before the Antarctic can be revealed, before Jesus can return, he's showing us here. There's a couple of things that has to happen. The falling away, the man of sin has to be revealed, and the the uh the abomination of desolation has got to take place. Uh, all three of those have to happen. But the first thing that has to happen before Christ comes back is uh there has to be the great falling away. There's to be people that are falling away from the faith that's got to transpire. And if you take a look, think about how many people that you know have, you've heard the word, I'm sure, deconstruction. People have deconstructed their faith. Now, sometimes deconstruction is always a bad thing if it's not built correctly. But if it's built correctly and you're built upon the foundation of the word of God and you're deconstructing because of whatever's going on in your heart that's ungodly, that's a whole other story. But let no one deceive you because listen, it ain't gonna happen until the great falling away transpires first. Now, how does the great falling away happen? Let's go back to Matthew chapter number 24. We're gonna look at verses 10 through 13. Now let's read. You ready? Here's the Bible study for you. And then many will be offended, they will betray one another and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up. You do understand that if there's not much offense, it's because there's not much carnality. And if there's not much carnality, there's no room for false prophets because people are keeping oil in their lamps, loving their heart, and sin 11 out of their life. Well, as a result of that, uh, there's not a way to be deceived. But when you are offended, it's because you are in your carnality, you're in your flesh. And as a result, false prophets can rise up and bring deception. Because the only way you can become offended, the only way that you can begin to open a door to false prophets is if you're living something falsely. False prophets are those that are given to shepherd people that are living the gospel falsely, and they're not living it the right way. And when you don't have oil in your lance because you're not abiding in the Holy Spirit, you're walking in darkness. When you're walking in darkness, deception is inevitable. And when deception is inevitable, the purpose behind that is to bring false prophets. And if you think about it, they're false prophets. So listen, this is the thing you gotta see. False prophets are not the same as a heretic. Excuse me. It's not the same as a Satan worshiper or something like that. False prophets are for those that they want to cater a word of carnality, have enough of the Bible to say it's the Bible, but enough of sin to water it down and to dilute it and to cause you to begin to fall away from the things of God. So that's why false prophets come. They give you what you want to hear, not what you need to hear. And look what it says in verse number 12. And because lawlessness will abound. Well, think about it. When it means that abounds, it means it's going to be in excess. So think about it. Because lawlessness comes as a result. Look at what happens here. The uh lamp begins to get low, deception comes, false prophets rise up, and then look what happened in verse 12. The love of many will grow cold. This is where the falling away happens because people are getting colder. And if you get cold, look at this, you can even read it backwards. You get cold because of lawlessness, lawlessness happens when people are deceived and deception comes from false prophets, all of that, and it goes all the way up. They betray one another, they hate one another, they become offended because they're incarnality. And so as a result of that, people begin to fall away from the faith. You have to understand that the love of many is growing cold each and every single day. I mean, you see it all the time. People are getting colder and colder. That's why services have gotten to be shorter and shorter. You know, it's funny how the devil will slowly cook you to death. I mean, it used to be a time where people had so much church. Oh my gosh, it was everywhere. You had church in the morning, you had church in the evening, you had sometimes a Sunday afternoon uh breakfast or not breakfast, uh dinner or lunch that they would serve so you didn't have to go home. Sunday was truly the Lord's day. And then you'd have a prayer meeting on one of those nights throughout the week. You'd always have your Wednesday night service. People would have praise and worship nights and they'd have praise and worship practice, and then they would have a youth night, and you had all these things all lined up where people are just constantly in the house of God. And now we've got to cut services. We've got to make sure we don't go longer than an hour and 15 minutes. We got to make sure all these things in order to keep people happy. Why? Because we have gotten cold in our walks with Jesus Christ. And so as a result of that, the love of many is growing cold, deception comes, lawlessness is abounding, all these things. We have more and more preachers doing things. We see sometimes the way that women dress in the church, how provocative and sexual it is. And take a look at how many preachers have mistresses and are constantly sleeping around. Many are doing lines of cocaines and all these types of things, uh, getting drunk, and all these things are happening in the body of Christ, ladies and gentlemen, because lawlessness is abounding, the love begins to grow cold. And one thing you got to understand is this when you start messing with sin or with iniquity and you start messing uh with um cardality and you start messing uh with the things of the world and try to water it down, you have to understand something. It's a slow deception. You will eventually find yourself compromising in areas you never thought you would compromise. You will find yourself uh saying things are okay that God did not call okay, and you'll be calling things wrong that God said are okay. So it's important that you understand that. Says, because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold, but he who endures to the end, the same shall be saved. Now go with me to Mark chapter number uh 13. Mark chapter 13. I hope you're getting something out of this. Mark 13, we're gonna start in verse number 32. Look at this, it's powerful here. I want you to catch this. This is why there's a danger of falling away. I'm gonna show you what the dangers are. First, let's look at Mark 3, 32 through 35, and it says this But of that day and hour no one knows, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Take heed, be watch and pray, for you do not know when the time is. It is like a man going to a far country who left his house and gave authority to his servants and to each his work, and commanded the doorkeepers to watch. Look at verse 35. Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming, in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning. Verse 36 is where I really want to hit. Lest coming suddenly, now stop right there. Jesus is going to come suddenly. And if he comes suddenly, you will not have time to awake him. Lest coming suddenly he finds you sleeping. Hallelujah. And what I say to you, I say to all, watch, beware in this season that the falling away is also the dozing off of the believer. And you've got to understand that when you begin to fall away, it's because things have gotten cold. See, the devil can't just come and snuff you out, but you can not steward your salvation correctly, cause yourself to become watered down, drift away from the Father, heart becomes cold, uh, lawlessness begins to abound, your oil becomes contaminated, your relationship with God gets harder, it's harder to pray, it's harder to seek God, it's harder to worship. You've got all these things that make it so much more difficult, ladies and gentlemen. My goodness, you've got to watch and pray. You've got to make sure your spirit is open and that your flesh is closed in the name of Jesus, lest coming suddenly he finds you sleeping. Look at Luke chapter 21. Excuse me.

Luke 21: Weights, Cares, And Escape

Antichrist, Lawlessness, And Restraint

But take heed to yourselves lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and the cares of this life. You know, I just ministered yesterday at my church that there's many of people that got their hands on stuff, the cares of this life that God says it has nothing to do with you, it's none of your business, and you're spending a lot of energy and time pouring into things that God's already got because you're not trusting Him with it. Take heed to yourself, take heed to yourself, watch yourself, lest your hearts be weighed down. Let us lay aside Hebrews chapter 12 the weight and the sin that easily besets us. Lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing and drunkenness and the cares of this life, and that day come upon you unexpectedly. Wow. We just read it there in Mark, lest that day take you unexpectedly, and you start falling asleep, and you're not ready when he comes. Verse 35. Now look at this. This is so good. For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch therefore and pray. Now look at this is so powerful. Pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all of these things that will come to pass and to stand before the Son of God. Now I need you to catch this here because this is really important. He says something really good. First of all, he says to watch. Number two, he says to pray that you might be counted worthy to escape. Wow. The things that will come to pass. The tribulation years. You want to pray, God, may I be counted worthy to escape the tribulation years. Think about it. It's such a reward that Jesus said you need to pray that you'd be counted worthy. Think about that for a minute. He said, Pray that you're counted worthy. That means that worth determines value. So he's saying there is a major value to escape the tribulation. Pray that your value is good enough that your worth will allow you to escape what's coming. Wow. Watch, therefore, I pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all the things that will come to pass and stand before the Son of God. And in the daytime, he was preaching teaching in the temple. But at night he went out and stayed in the mountain called Olivet. Then early in the morning he arose. All of the people came to him in the temple to hear him. So look at this that you may be counted worthy to escape the tribulation that is coming. Wow. That means there's a value to escaping it. The great falling away, ladies and gentlemen, is happening right before our very own eyes.

Strong Delusion And Loving The Truth

Practical Guardrails: Prayer, Oil, And Community

Do you not remember that when I was still with you and I told you these things, and now you may you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work, only he who now restrains will do so until he's taken out of the way. When the lawless one, look at it, lawlessness will abound. Now watch this. This is a sign of the times. The great falling away is a sign that the Antichrist is getting coming. Why? That he's coming. Because he said lawlessness will abound because the lawless one is coming. So the closer the lawless one, speaking of the Antichrist, gets to the earth, the more lawlessness, sin, iniquity, all of those things are going to begin to abound because the earth is preparing itself for, watch this, the Antichrist. It is going to be the pseudo bride. But see, those of us that are in the faith, that are believing and trusting God, we are going to keep our wicks trimmed. We're going to keep oil in our lamps, love in our heart, sin 11 out of our lives. Are you following what I'm saying right now? This is so very good. The lawless one will be revealed. There will come a point in time where the veil and the scales will be removed off of his eyes, and he will begin to see. Come on, so we will begin to see who he is. And so I want you to understand that. Right now he's covered up, but the time has come where he's going to be revealed, and God's going to allow him to see, everyone's going to see him for who he is. But at this time, y'all, at this time, in this moment, we are keeping him back. Hallelujah. Look at this. The lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of his mouth. He will be revealed. Because the close, I want to say that again, the closer it gets to him, the more you're going to see more lawlessness. It's because it's invading, it's invading the earth. And those that are saved are going to be continually removing themselves from the earth. They're going to continue to be sanctified. They're going to continually keep moving upward, onward and upward in their walks with Jesus Christ. And then those that are falling away will be reserved for him. The great falling away is the time of sifting. So then, therefore, the people that are with God will go with him, and those that are with Satan will go with him. Now look at this. And the lawless one, or I'm sorry, let's let's do it. Let me move back up here. I want to move back up for a second. Uh let's see here. Verse number five. Do you not remember that when I was still with you, I told you these things? And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work. Only he who now restrains will do so until he's taken out of the way. So we're holding back, and the Holy Spirit through the church of Jesus Christ is holding back the revelation, the revealing. Isn't it funny? Now look at this. Watch this. Do you see how the devil plays the counterfeit? He's going to be revealed. Well, what is the book of Revelation about? It's the revelation of Jesus Christ. We're going to see him really for who he is. Well, what is this revelation about? It's the revelation of the Antichrist. We're going to see who he really is. He only just counterfeit copies everything that Jesus does because he wants to be just like him. All right? Important to know that. Look at here. He will be revealed in his own time. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work, only he who now restrains will do so until he's taken out of the way. And when the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of his mouth and destroy with the brightness of his coming. The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan with all power, signs, and lying wonders. Now, this is the thing. The closer we get to the return of Jesus Christ, the more we're going to see lawlessness abound. Why? It's the spirit of the Antichrist that is orchestrating a smorgasbord of sin and degradation and betrayal towards God. He's setting it up on this huge table and allowing all those that choose to eat from it, and it will seal their fate. Verse 9, the coming of the lost one is according to the working of Satan with all power, signs, and lying wonders, with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth that they might be saved. Wow, I'm going to read that again. And with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, among those who are perishing, because they did not receive the love of the truth that they might be saved. And for this reason, God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie. Do you understand that the reason why the love of many is drawing cold and grow growing cold is because it's preserving these people right here for this opportunity. That they all may be condemned who do not did not believe the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. Wow. Think about that for a minute. The great falling away is the sifting time for the Antichrist. There will be a bright. See, now watch this. Why is that important? Because he's only going to have three and a half years before the middle of the tribulation, which I talked about last time. I won't go into that right now, but that's where the tribulation turns into the great tribulation. He has three and a half years. That means there's got to be a people prepared for his arrival. And he's coming. And he's going to bring all those people to him, and they're all going to be working for him. And it's going to be a crazy, crazy time. Look what it says here that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. Boy, oh boy, isn't that good? Wow. Wow. I mean, man, that's just so powerful. Be counted worthy of escaping. How do I do that? By not Falling asleep. Hallelujah. You can't fall asleep, ladies and gentlemen. That is the reality. Let's go to Luke 21.

Final Exhortation And Prayer

But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, cares of this life. These are the things you got to be careful of. This is what causes the great falling away. This is what caused people to say, I don't want to go that far. This is what causes people to be deceived. Because the more they're involved with the world, the less oil they have in their lamp, the less bright uh that their lamp shine. And now watch that this is important as well. Not only does their light not shine well. Come on, somebody, because that's what oil does. They're also not insulated from the coldness of the world because of what carousing drunkenness and the cares of this life. And it says it will come as a trap or a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass and to stand before the Son of Man. That's where we are, ladies and gentlemen. People are falling away left and right. I mean, people are calling good, evil, and evil good. People are totally losing their minds. It is important that we understand the falling away is a biblical thing. It's preparing those that are counterfeit, those that haven't lived a life, those that are doing Lord knows what with Lord knows who. These people that that are that are committed to sin, they're committed to watering down the word, they're committed to their sin craft, but yet still when Jesus comes and shows up and wants to bring judgment, now they want to be saved. That ain't gonna happen. Come on, somebody. People that are watered down, turning away from the faith. This is where people are, they're falling away. And that's the reason why I've told people you've got to be in church. You've got to maintain a prayer life, you've got to cut the sin and the leaven out of your life. Don't allow the slow burn of degradation and watering down your walk, allow you to lose oil and then therefore lose your insulation and lose your illumination. You need light to shine into the darkness and you need insulation from the cold world. Why? You will always grow cold if you do not recognize, my goodness, sin and leaven in your life. You'll grow cold because you'll be nibbling on things in the world, and it's a slow thing. It doesn't happen overnight. You don't just wake up one day and say, Oh, I'm gonna go out and sleep with this person. I'm gonna go out and do this line of drugs, I'm gonna go out and I'm gonna do this. I'm gonna go out to the it's a slow burn. That's why the devil sends all sorts of things down the church's past saying, hey, have a little of this. Have a little bit of that. Have a little bit of sin. Have a nice little pet, quiet sin, a secret pet sin that you have. Why does the devil do all of that? He does that because he knows he can cause the oil to drip down. He knows that if he does that, you'll begin to follow the darkness, you'll begin to be deceived, and he will have power over your life. It's important that we watch and we pray and that we are counted worthy to escape the wrath that is coming, ladies and gentlemen, because there is a wrath that is coming. Lord, may we be counted worthy to escape. My goodness. May we be counted worthy to escape the judgment that is coming. May we be counted worthy to escape those tribulation years, Father. And Lord, help us to keep filled up and saturated with your glory and with your anointing. You know, I've seen more and more people following. I there's so many of my friends I went to Bible school with that have turned to homosexuality and transgenderism, and some people have become atheists and turned away from the faith. In less than 20 years, I saw many of these things happen. Well, people say, well, why would you say that? Because if it could happen, that may happen to anybody. They started off well, but then you slowly begin to drift off. You gotta be careful that you don't get into drifting off. You've got to keep that oil in your lamp, that love in your heart, that sin and leaven out of your life. Oh, if I can tell you anything, keep the sin and the leaven out, but my goodness, please be a man or woman of prayer. And if you're married, get up in the morning and seek the face of God together. If you're single, get up in the morning and meet one of your friends, preferably of the same sex and come together. You don't want to fall into no trouble. It's important that we watch and that we pray in this season, in this day, and in this hour. And I wanted to share with you guys just for a little bit that you would not fall asleep. I'm gonna give you some of this here and then I'm gonna wrap up.

Um the coming of the lost ones according to the working of Satan with all power, signs, and lying wonders. There's another story in there. I won't read if you want to read in Revelation chapter 13. It talks about the Antichrist and the false prophet and how they will work signs and wonders. They'll actually resurrect themselves. Uh the Antichrist will resurrect himself from the dead with all power, signs and lying wonders, with all look at this unrighteous deception. Wow, it's one thing to be deceived, it's another thing to have unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the truth of the love that they might be saved. They didn't receive it. So as a result, they missed out on what it was that God had from them. Look at verse 11. And for this reason, God will send them strong delusion. Now remember, there's deception and delusion. I don't have time to go into all that, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth, but have pleasure in unrighteousness. Wow. Wow. God will give them over to strong delusion. Why? Because they heard the truth, they just wouldn't recognize the truth. They heard what the Spirit of the Lord said, they just weren't willing to recognize it. But I believe if you're watching right now, it's because God is putting oil in your lamp, love in your heart, sin eleven in your life, it's out of your life. And God is doing that in order to preserve you for Himself. So then you don't have to go through this right here. But that day will not come until the great falling away happens. And I believe with all my heart, prophetically, we are in it. I've seen so many preachers and singers and musicians and lay ministers and pew sitters that have gone through so many different things and they've gotten deceived and they decided to turn away from the faith. I'll sit down and I'll talk with people and I'll say, tell me what's going on. Well, I used to be a Christian, but I fell away. Think about all the preachers we see in the headlines in the news doing things that Lord knows what they were thinking when they were doing it, but they did it anyways. And guess what happened? Many of them are in prison, many of them are being brought down. Mega ministries and a lot of areas are collapsing. Smaller ministries are collapsing because they were men or women of no character. But God is anointing you to be a man or woman of character in and through your life. I want to take him in and I want to pray for you because my time is about up, but I want to pray for you that God will begin to bless you. Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank you for the person listening and the person that's watching. Father, I'm praying today that your anointing would come upon each and every one of us, that we might be filled with the power of your spirit, that our love would not wax cold. Oh, God, I'm asking today, Father, that you would give us grace to stand there. Father, when you come, you might find faith in us. Oh, Father God, I just pray for every single person listening right now that your anointing and your presence would be upon them, that your grace would be more than enough. And Lord, that you would strengthen, they would not fall away, but they would be strong in you and in the power of your might. Father, I thank you for what you've done. Thank you for what you've accomplished. Thank you for what you're about to do in and throughout our lives. And Lord, I pray today that they would keep that oil in their lamp, love in their heart, and send 11 out of their life. That Lord, they would not drift. Lord, they would be rooted and grounded in you. We thank you for this. And we give you the praise, the honor, and all of the glory in Jesus' name. Amen, amen, amen. What does the falling away look like? Why do they fall away? It's not like they just give up on God. Well, what happened? There are things that they're doing and transpiring that a lot of preachers aren't talking about that's going to cause them to become watered down, diluted, and polluted. But God wants to give it to you. Come on, somebody. Straight with no chaser, no polluted, no watered down, not half and half. No, here it is. It is what it is. And if you're willing to receive that and come the right way, you will be saved from the wrath to come. And you'll be ready for heaven as if you are already there.
