Speaker 1:

Welcome to Lacy's lineup. I missed you guys, ma'am. Was I sick last week? I apologize for not getting my episode out, but I got hit hard with the flu and guys. It was miserable. I would have much rather been here talking with you guys than in bed at feeling terrible. I just want you to know I missed you. I'm so sorry I didn't get the episode out last week because there was so much to talk about and I couldn't wait to do it, but I just physically couldn't. I'm back now, though, happy that I am feeling better and I am ready to discuss a lot with you guys today. So let's not waste any more time and get started with NFL week 15.

Speaker 2:

Classic NFL rivalry is renewed. These two teams do not like each other and you gotta love that. I see it coming here now. Oh Lord, oh Lord, what is this? What the fuck yeah?

Speaker 1:

I'm ready to go home and get all my life All right. Well, let's start. I'm gonna recap a little bit from the week that I missed because I could not wait to talk about the Dallas Cowboys and the Eagles matchup, where the Cowboys just romped the Eagles at home, beating them just so embarrassingly. It was awesome for the Eagles. You know we're a Cowboy fan, so you cannot like the Eagles and to see them get destroyed by the 49ers the week before and then the Cowboys doing the same thing to them. All it's doing is exposing the Eagles for what I have been saying. They are for the past, forever how they've just been lucky and people have been giving them bad games. They've had injuries of their opponents who they've been playing for. They just are not a complete team and it shows and it's starting to be exposed more and more, and it's so nice to see the Eagles be the team that I've been telling you guys they are this entire time, not to even get started which we will talk about a little bit later where the Eagles lost to the Seahawks Backup quarterback Drew Locke this past Monday. But I'm gonna save that for its own little segment because I have a lot to say there, but the Cowboys won.

Speaker 1:

Then it was the Buffalo matchup. We knew going in there it was gonna be a hostile environment. The Cowboys did not show up. There was very costly penalties. Cowboys are the most penalized team in the NFL and when they start giving those penalties, especially early on, you just know the game is not gonna go the way the Cowboys hoped it would be, but it could have been a game. If you look at that game, it was. I don't know why they gave the Bills the ball first. Also, by the way, I don't know We've been actually taking being on offense first the past couple of weeks because our offense has been so hot. So I'm not sure why we deferred in that moment, especially with a hot Bills team that could go score and we just would be behind, you know, trying to match Josh Allen. So not sure about that play call, which is weird, but anyways, we went down. They just started going right away, and just huge, costly penalties. They're first drive, we hold them to a full goal, but yet we rough the passer. Little skeptic on that, though. Did we really rough him? We didn't hit his. I think Josh Allen sold that really well, saying that we contacted him in the helmet, but regardless, they called it, which gave him a fresh set of downs and ultimately gave them seven points. We go down, don't do anything, they get the ball back and we defense comes out fired up and we had them in a third and long, and fourth and long, and they're punting. And why does our guy leave his feet? We rough the punter and give them a fresh set of downs, which ultimately puts the offense back on the field and Josh Allen does what he does and gets them. You know the go ahead. So now we're looking at 14, nothing.

Speaker 1:

The most critical one, though, and I don't understand it with two minutes left in the first half, we had or it could have been a little bit more time on that, but we actually stripped the ball out of Stefan Diggs's hands and we did not challenge it. I don't understand it. I know they were getting to the line quick, but you have three timeouts that you can't take to the second half with. You. Call the timeout, be sure what it is and see if it is something that you can challenge, but Mike McCarthy didn't do it, and ultimately they were able to convert and score again off of that, which I think if we could have got that turnover. The momentum would have came back on our side and gave us great field position to maybe get back in this game.

Speaker 1:

But this was never a game. I mean, the Cowboys just did not show up. I think they were worried about the weather, which wasn't even a factor. It started raining fourth quarter, but the game was way over before that. I mean, it was a 49 degree day in Buffalo in December. You couldn't ask for better, and the boys just did not answer. It was not a good showing by them and it shows that we still struggle on the road and it's not gonna get easier because more than likely we're gonna be playing on the road, probably against a 49ers team in the playoffs. So we gotta figure out those mistakes and figure out why we can't win on the road.

Speaker 1:

I will say, though, as a Cowboys fan, looking at our they call it a gauntlet schedule that we have left and with the Dolphins and the Lions, and we had the Bills, the Bills, to me, were the scariest team. I know the Bills record does not reflect who the Bills are, but they are one of the scariest teams, I think, in the AFC. If I was an AFC team I wouldn't wanna play the Bills first round as, like a seven seed in the tournament, bills had to win against the Cowboys. Their backs were against the wall, they put themselves in a hole and you have an explosive offense, an explosive Josh Allen, and he had to do whatever it took. And what's funny is he didn't have to do much because the biggest takeaway from that game was Cook. He ran the ball through the Dallas Cowboys all day, up and down the field. I don't know why the Cowboys did not make adjustments. I don't know why we couldn't stop the run, where we more focused on Josh Allen being a threat as a runner and stopped looking at Cook. But still after the second quarter and he's running and already almost has a hundred yards of rushing, maybe we should start looking at him. But Cook had a day. I mean they're saying now let him cook. Which, why not Having that running game now going for the Bills on top of their deadly weapons in the air? Bills are gonna be scary, but this is one I feel like. I didn't think we were gonna lose that bad as we did. But the Cowboys definitely went into desperation. Bills in their home that had to win and the Bills did what they needed to do. So the Cowboys walk away with the loss and we will see if they can rebound, where they have to travel once again this week to a Red Hot Doffins team. So it's gonna be another challenge and hopefully the Cowboys can figure it out and make this a more interesting game.

Speaker 1:

We are going into week 16 of the NFL. How fast did this season go by? I can't believe we're in the last part of the regular season. We're already talking about playoffs. We already have teams that are eliminated or teams that have clenched the playoffs like things are getting serious and interesting If you look at each conference. Let's start with the AFC East. You have Miami and Buffalo literally the last two teams standing in that conference, because the Jets have now been eliminated and the Patriots are eliminated, and now you're gonna see who can come out and take that seed as the top person in the AFC East.

Speaker 1:

Who do you guys think it's gonna be? Miami or Buffalo? A lot of you guys are gonna say Miami. I can see why you would say that, but for me, like I mentioned before when we were talking about the Bills beating the Cowboys, I think bills not only are they going to win this conference, I think they have a really good shot at going to the Super Bowl. You guys think I'm crazy. Right, there's no way. I know. They're their own worst enemy and Josh Allen tends to choke in the playoffs and he's big turnover prone. But this guy is overly competitive and he is so tired of the media talking about him choking, how he can't get his team there, the hostile environment within his team like with Diggs being a hothead and getting mad, that he's not getting the ball. Josh Allen is going to find a way to do it. I truly believe that, and you have.

Speaker 1:

Now that they finished with the Cowboys, their schedule is a lot easier than the Miami Dolphins, moving forward until they play each other for the very last game in the regular season. Miami still has to play the Cowboys, and the Cowboys, hopefully, can figure it out, but it's not going to be a walkover, hopefully, as a Cowboys fan, because they're coming off of a loss and it's been a while since the Cowboys have lost two in a row, so I'm hoping that they're going to respond. It will be interesting, though, because we did have some key injuries. Zack Martin is a big factor. If he can go this week or not. That'll be something to look at. Tyreek Hill is dealing with an ankle injury. I think he could have played last week but based on who they were playing, I think they decided to hold him out so that he could be fully ready and get an extra week of rest before they faced the Cowboys. But Jalen Waddle showed that it was okay and that he could still run those same routes as Tyreek Hill, because he had a great showing. But you can't count the Miami Dolphins out. But if it comes down I'm saying it right now it's going to come down to that game, that last regular season game against Miami and Buffalo, and I believe it is in Miami. If Buffalo can win it, then they take the title away from Miami, which is just going to be. I think that becomes a flex game. I think that's going to be a big game, deciding game on who wins the conference. I think they're going to get a prime time light and could set up for really great football. But if you're asking me right now, afc East, just based on what I'm seeing, I think obviously both teams have potentials to go to the Super Bowl. They're both going to go to the playoffs, but I think the Bills are going to take the AFC East.

Speaker 1:

Moving to the AFC North, you have Baltimore, cleveland, cincinnati and Pittsburgh. Baltimore has already clinched. I still think they're the most dominant team in the AFC right now just the most complete team maybe not dominant, but the most complete team. Mitchell tearing his ACL last week in the game could be a factor for them. He's been an explosive player for them and really helped open up things for the Ravens. And they have the 49ers this week on Christmas Day, which is going to be a crazy matchup. I mean it'll be interesting to see how those two match up together. So far no one's been able to touch a healthy San Francisco 49ers team. So we'll see if Lamar Jackson has anything to say about that, but I definitely think they're going to win.

Speaker 1:

The AFC North hands down the Cleveland Cincinnati. You know they both lost their quarterbacks. Now there's talk that Chase could be out for the Bengals for the remainder of the season, which would just be detrimental even more detrimental to the Bengals team after losing burrow. And then you have Browns whose defense is still trying to carry them. So it'll be interesting to see how that finishes. But definitely Baltimore has a two game lead on everybody in that division and they should surely win that division.

Speaker 1:

Now, moving on to a really funny division for me is the AFC South. You have the Tennessee Titans, who have now been eliminated, so they're the only ones that are not in the talk for this division. But then you have the other three, all tied at eight and six the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Colts and the Houston Texans, all battling internally with some key injuries, right Like Jacksonville. Trevor Lawrence hurt his ankle really bad. He's been playing, but you can tell that it is affecting his game. You have the Colts, who have been making a good push, but Pittman, who's their star person, got into concussion protocol with a nasty hit. I mean Kazi actually suspended for the rest of the regular season, which is crazy to me, but I think he's been warned over and over again because he's done this hit a lot. But anyone that watched that game, that was a scary hit. I'm actually happy that it wasn't worse than a concussion for Pittman. But now it'll be interesting to see if he can go this week, because he is the one that they all look for and he's the only one that can really carry that team through the finish line to win those games. So that'll be an interesting piece.

Speaker 1:

And then you have the Houston Texans, who were just man they were so hot and they were really on the rise and then you lose Tank Dell, then you were out Noah Brown, then you were out Nico Collins. Now Noah Brown is back. But then you lost CJ Stroud to a concussion and he's supposed to be back this week but it's just been man injury after injury. So the AFC South is just up for grabs between these three teams, eight and six. I mean I think anyone can take it. You have the veteran and Trevor Lawrence, who knows how to get to the postseason and does what it takes, so I'm going to give a little bit of a nod to them, just because they have the least amount of injuries and the most experienced players on that team.

Speaker 1:

And last, for the AFC, you have the AFC West, which is Kansas City, denver, vegas Raiders and the Chargers. None have been eliminated yet. I think the Chargers man I. Just a rough season for the Chargers. Anyone that had Echler on their fantasy team, which I will raise my hand, but he has just been non-effective this year. You've lost Herbert for the season. Just not a good year. Fireings are coming, just a hot mess express in California right now. When it comes to the Chargers Raiders dealing with the same type of issues, they're six and eight. Denver Now they're seven and seven. It's like they crawl themselves out and they get in the position they wanna be and then they lose a game by you know one that they're not supposed to lose. So they're still interesting to me as well.

Speaker 1:

And then you have the Chiefs Guys. Is this the Chiefs that we are used to? I mean, the frustrations are mounting for Patrick Mahomes and I think everyone at the Chiefs is one. Tired of Taylor Swift because Travis Kelsey has been non-existent ever since they started dating and Cardardius Tony. No one wants him on this team. And I know, like the frustrations with Patrick Mahomes and him going at the refs and the fines and all of that look, I think that was more frustrations with his locker room and what's inside of his locker room. No one can catch the ball. I mean, even Cardonius Tony last week hit a ball right in his numbers and he bobbled it. That ultimately turned into an interception.

Speaker 1:

It is just a frustrating team to watch right now. I don't think they have what they need. I know Andy Reed's probably gonna go back to the drawing board in the off season and find some weapons for Patrick Mahomes to help him out. Kelsey's already talking about how much longer he can go in the league. So if they lose him, they just don't have anyone. Their only bright star right now is Rice and he just came out of the woodwork, but he's quickly becoming Mahomes's favorite. Maybe only target Pacheco being out hurts them. I still think the Chiefs will get this division, but I do not see them going far in the post season at all, definitely not defending their championship this year. I don't even see them making it to the AFC Championship game. This team is just hard to watch. Their luck has run out and Mahomes, like we said, can't throw and catch and they're gonna have to go. Try to find some people to help Mahomes out for next season.

Speaker 1:

Moving to the NFC now Now we start with the NFC East, which is the Dallas Cowboys, philadelphia Eagles Giants and Washington. Washington has been eliminated. I don't know what they did. They threw away all the talent that they had on that team. They traded them off and it's just been. Are already looking ahead for next year and hoping just to get high in the draft picks and I think they're gonna clean house and start over next year, but they are eliminated. And then you have a Giants team who's not eliminated yet. They're five and nine. And then the Cowboys and Eagles who are tied at 10 and four. They're gonna keep flip-flopping and I again, the Eagles are exposed.

Speaker 1:

We talk about how they just have, you know, the Giants twice and the Cardinals Cardinals, because they are eliminated. I feel like I don't know if they'll keep playing Kyler, murray or you know those teams that get eliminated. They kind of quit caring. So that could be one for them. But Eagles man, I just don't think. I don't think any team is an easy team for Eagles right now, just because they aren't taking care of business. So for them, I know we say, oh, they get the nod because of what's left, the strength of the schedule, but the Eagles are self-imploding and they could easily drop more games, like even to the Giants.

Speaker 1:

The DeVito era is coming. You know there's a lot of hype. You still got Barkley. You know they gotta play at least one of those games in New York and you know the other one isn't far. They're almost like a neighboring team conference. So it'll be interesting to see how that follows out. Obviously, as a Cowboy fan, I really hope the Cowboys can still it away for the fact that that would give them the two seed and make the Giants or the Eagles and the 49ers have to play each other and then we not meet them until the NFC Championship.

Speaker 1:

Final Cause. I'm tired of being the fifth seed and having to play the 49ers before and the Eagles just having that cakewalk go. But then again, you know you play a Lions team and the Eagles could easily drop that. So it's up for grabs for anybody. But based on the strength of the schedule and what's left, depending on if these teams play all out or play with a purpose against the Eagles, then I think they have a good shot of taking the division from the Dallas Cowboys. But we will see. Eagles are their own worst enemy. Right now Dallas has to figure out how to win on the road. Good thing is is they have the Lions at home, which they play their best at home. Again, it's the key injuries as well. Zack Martin, losing Hankins was a big deal, you know. Micah Parsons did get hit a little bit and he was wobbly in that Bill's game. I know he'll still go, but how will he respond to that. So we will see how it finishes. I think it's gonna flip flop a lot all the way until the end and I'm hoping the Cowboys can pull it out, but right now I know it's favored that the Eagles should be able to pull out the victory in the East.

Speaker 1:

Now you have the NFC North, and this is Detroit, who's at 10 and four, minnesota seven and seven, green Bay six and eight and the Bears at five and nine. It's crazy to say, but obviously they have a three game lead and Detroit Lions are going to take this division. They definitely are. They have, I mean, la Porta, st Brown, goff playing the best that he's played. Then you have the run game with Gibbs. They're firing on all cylinders and I've told you guys this from the beginning they're the sleeper team. That, oh, it's Detroit we're not realizing. It's the Detroit of 2023, who is a completely different team. He's just got weapons everywhere and if he can find them and get them going, then the Lions are gonna go deep into the playoffs, which is exciting for a Lions fan. But I definitely think there's no doubt about it that they are going to take the NFC North, guys.

Speaker 1:

The NFC South is just bad. It's just bad. I mean there's more than likely the NFC South is going to have a losing record team. Make it win the division and make it to the playoffs. You have Tampa Bay, new Orleans and Atlanta Falcons, and then Carolina, who's already been eliminated, but you have Tampa Bay and New Orleans sitting at seven and seven and then the Atlanta Falcons at six and eight. This is another one that's up for grabs. No one really shows out. I think Tampa Bay probably would be the nod, just because you have kind of some fire under these guys Mike Evans, baker Mayfield playing really well. New Orleans just been battling injuries, even with Carr. It just hasn't been a very fluid season for the New Orleans Saints. So, looking at these three teams left in the NFC South, I definitely think, based on the last two weeks of play, that Tampa Bay has the nod as far as the fire, the healthiest and the personnel on the team. And lastly, you got the NFC West. The NFC West definitely is easily gonna go.

Speaker 1:

It already has gone to the 49ers. They're the best team in the NFL right now on both sides of it. When they're healthy, no one can stop them. Their weapons are too big, too strong. They're great on defense. They are great situational type play. They're great at managing. Once they get the lead they have the ball more than anybody else in the league. It's just a team. That's just complete. They're just wholly complete. Then you have the Rams underneath them and the Seahawks. Arizona's already been eliminated and they're seven and seven. So they have to win out to even make a wild card spot and they're both battling for those two spots where they have some tough competition still left. I think Seahawks have a little bit easier of a schedule now.

Speaker 1:

After they're beating the Eagles, which was just a crazy Monday night football game, you think the game's over. The Eagles kinda start out their way and then those last plays would drew lock and finding DK Metcalfe and the coverage that the Eagles gave them got burned once and stayed in the same coverage and so they were able to get burned again and get the go ahead touchdown and ultimately win. That game against the Eagles was just insane. I mean it was a great early Christmas present for the Dallas Cowboys but wow, like I could not believe the way that that game went. But congrats to the Seahawks, they're back. Just like the Bills were against the corner and they found a way to win, but now they have a lot favorable left games that they could definitely win, but it's going to come down to them in the Rams to try to buy for that last wild card spot. So we'll see how that turns out. But the NFC West has already gone to the 49ers. We aren't questioning that at all. We knew that was going to happen.

Speaker 1:

This is the time of the year where there's good football played and there's bad football played. You have teams that are matched up, having to win in order to make the playoffs. You have teams that are out of the playoffs and they just want their season to be over. So you're going to get some ugly football in that matter. You have a lot of controversy surrounding teams, but it's just about placement here at the end, on where teams are going to line up for the playoffs. Going to make for an interesting end of the year. 2023, I think, is going to go out with a lot of good football, a lot of great matchups on Christmas day, a lot of great matchups on Christmas Eve, and I just think it's going to be on. Who wants it more? It's December, it's playoff mentality at this point and this is where you're going to really see those Super Bowl contender teams separate themselves and show why they're trying to vie for the easiest path to the Super Bowl.

Speaker 1:

My worst of the week, though, from week 15, has to go to my Dallas Cowboys. They were the hottest offense in the NFL and couldn't even find the end zone against the Bills until the very end, right, I mean when the game was they already had put in their second string. So ultimately I don't count that, but it was just a bad performance. They didn't make adjustments, they couldn't get. I think they only had like 93 yards in the air. It just was ugly from the beginning. It was shown that they are still that back and forth team, a lot of frustrations. You think they overcome something and they won their last five and then they come against a team that was desperation right In their house with explosive offense. But we did not show up to play that game and it was just a wasted opportunity, especially with the Eagles losing on Sunday or a Monday night, which I know we didn't know playing that. But you could have stole the division by a game and you know that was a gift to you and you just let it slip through your hands. But it was just an overall terrible experience. All we did was leave with a loss and some key injuries.

Speaker 1:

Cowboys, you got to figure it out and please be my best of the week beating the dolphins next week and my best of the week it has to stay in the same game. The bills deserve to have praise for that game. I mean, whether the Cowboys showed up or not, they were a dominant team coming in and you had to give it all. You got and you did and you didn't do it with Josh Allen. I mean, he did his job and he did what he needed to do, but you found your run game and cook and he just dominated. You guys were on the ground running you show separated early. You were a well rounded team and you guys are becoming a very scary team to face in the playoffs If you can keep this momentum up. But overall, best of the week best performance by a team by far goes to the Buffalo Bills and my five Super Bowl contenders. After 15 weeks of play, my top two really haven't changed.

Speaker 1:

But let's start with number five. Number five, like I said, is the bills. I really think the bills can make it to the Super Bowl this year. I think a lot of counted them out and they are not ready to be counted out. They have too much good talent, do not want to waste this year. They don't want to choke like they've done in the past. They're answering the call. Each game is a playoff game for them and it started with the Cowboys and they just dominated, showing that they are going to make it to the playoffs and I think they have a good chance of going to the Super Bowl. So they are going to be my number five. Number four still got to keep the dolphins. Tyra kill didn't play, didn't matter. Jalen Waddle picked up the slack, hem and Tuoh were in connection and they just dominated against a Jets team who had been playing well and their defense was their best spot and they shut them out and still rang up 30 points on them. So the dolphins are still a hot team and definitely have a chance to go far in the AFC.

Speaker 1:

Number three Detroit Lions. Like I said, they're the sleeper team. They have crazy good. I mean, they're tight in. I think arguably is the best tight in in NFL right now. With the La Porta, jared Goff is finding his guys. He's distributing the ball really, really well. He's got Saint Brown, who's explosive, la Porta, who's physical and to me is like a little mini Gronkowski if you look at the way he plays. And then you have Gibbs on the ground and Jared Goff playing the best ball that he's played and throwing dimes out there. So the Lions definitely are big contenders to go to the Super Bowl for the first time in a really long time.

Speaker 1:

Number two, baltimore Ravens they, like I said, they're just the most completed team. Mitchell is going to be a big question mark for me. He was a very explosive and kind of got their ground running. And him being out now with a torn ACL If anyone watched that game, that was just a gruesome replay, gruesome injury and it was just sad to see such a Dominate, explosive player go down like that. So it'll be interesting to see if that causes any kind of turmoil, especially going up against the 49ers on Christmas day. But Overall, lamar Jackson still showing, odell Beckham is being more involved in the offense and Zay flowers I mean he's been a consistent all year. But Ravens most complete team and I think have a really good shot of making it to the Super Bowl.

Speaker 1:

And number one I really don't even know if anyone's going to touch them and that is the 49ers.

Speaker 1:

Christian McCaffrey just unbelievable.

Speaker 1:

I mean he's in the talks for the MVP, but if he's, you know after he gets going.

Speaker 1:

Then you have Debo Samuel, who's just been probably their most valuable player on that team.

Speaker 1:

He's the one putting up all the points right now. He's got a really good connection with pretty pretty taking care of the ball. He's got all his players back. You got a healthy Trent Williams. Their offensive line feels like they have the ball for days in the back, allowing things to wake up. Then you have, you know, I you still a dominant force, and then you've added Chase Young, who's been a huge factor for them, adding with Bosa. So just all around, I just don't know who's going to touch them. I mean they would have easily won the Super Bowl last year had it not been they didn't have a quarterback. I mean what team goes and loses four quarterbacks in one season? I mean they physically didn't have a team or they would have went to the Super Bowl last year. So if they stay healthy, I think you're looking at the 49ers in the Super Bowl and I think winning it. But 49ers still sit on top of my list as the best chance team to make it to the Super Bowl.

Speaker 2:
