The life you've been dreaming about, it doesn't magically appear after you hit a milestone. It's built decision by decision long before you're ready. And guess what? I've been there. I've hired coaches before I thought I could afford them. I threw events when it was scary and I wasn't for sure ready. I invested in partnerships even after I had bad experiences. Every single leap deep down to one question: "Am I building for where I am or for where I'm going? Because here's what I know. The future belongs to those who act like the person they want to become, not the person they are today."

Welcome back to The Raquel Show. This show is for entrepreneurs who want to play bigger in business and in life. And I just want to say thank you so much for being a part of our community today. I want to have a really honest conversation about something I have been reflecting on because as I hit record on this, Brad and Brex are stuck in Atlanta to LAX and their connection from LAX to Phoenix. They will not make, they were at a basketball tournament.

And instead of like stressing or scrambling, I'm here in Scottsdale packing up so that we can head to our beach home in Huntington Beach. This moment hit me hard. It's one of those times where I stop and think, this is the reason why I've worked so hard. This is the reason why I took the risk I took. And this is why I kept going even when it didn't feel safe or it felt uncomfortable. 

For the longest time, I had the vision of a beach home, this year we finally rented one in the summer to see what it was like and it was in shape. We probably could have put a down payment on one out there or buy multiple rentals, but I want to make one thing clear. This isn't about the house. It's about what it represents: freedom, flexibility, building a business that supports your life and not the other way around, and to keep going even when there are challenges that hit you from all different direction. 

And today I want to break down how you can start creating a life and business by design. One where you actually have choices and flexibility, where you have the space and where you feel like you're finally living, even if it feels like you're not ready yet. So let's talk about where entrepreneurs get stuck. You started your business for freedom, but somewhere, just somewhere along the way, it started running you. You're working harder than ever, or you're hitting milestones, but deep down inside, especially in this market, you're exhausted. And you keep telling yourself, once I hit this number, I'll slow down. Once I put these systems in place, I'm going to hire Raquel. Or once I make more money, I am going to hire a coach. Once I grow my team, then I will have freedom. 

Here's the hard truth, my friends. The life you've been dreaming about, it doesn't magically appear after you hit a milestone. It's built decision by decision long before you're ready. I invested in partnerships even after I had bad experiences. Every single leap deep down to one question: "Am I building for where I am or for where I'm going? Because here's what I know. The future belongs to those who act like the person they want to become, not the person they are today."

And I want to break it down into something practical like I always do for you, my friends. Here's our Play Bigger design framework. Three steps to start building the life and business by design. 

Number one, future focus. Start with your vision. This is where clarity happens. Picture your future version of you. Where are you living? How do you spend your mornings, your weekends, your evenings? What does your calendar actually look like? Is it jam packed back to back? And who are you enjoying life with or surrounded by? If you don't define it, you'll keep building a business by default instead of by design and you may hit burnout. So here's a quick exercise. 

After this episode, I want you to take 10 minutes and write down your ideal day. Three years from now, be specific. What time do you wake up? When is your first meeting? How does your business feel? And you can't build what you can't see. So two is I want you to invest before you're ready. Here's the hard truth. You will never feel 100 % ready for the next level. Every major leap requires courage before confidence, whether it's hiring a coach and building your brand or buying your dream house.

You have to make decisions from your future self and not your comfort zone. So ask yourself what decision would the next level version of me make today? Would I keep holding back or would I move boldly even when it's uncomfortable? And I want you to align your action because it's not enough to have goals. It's not enough to dream. You have to align your business model with the life you want. 

So ask yourself, does my current business give me time freedom. This is where I'm getting a lot of people in my DMS asking me how do I scale my business without a big team or with more time freedom? Can I unplug when I need to and am I building something sustainable or am I still the engine? Am I still the fuel? This is where systems leverage and brand come in. 

You don't need a work 24/7 to grow. You just need smarter systems and stronger alignment with your goals. Here's what I want you to take away with. You don't wake up one day with a life by design. You create it decision by decision, steps by steps, choices by choices, brick by brick. It's not about having all the answers. It's about taking bold action and having the courage to do it, especially when it feels uncomfortable.
