I'm a big believer that if the vision is in you, it is for you, my friend, but it won't happen until you back it with action. When you have a big goal, how do you turn the vision into a plan. I've also realized that the life I wanted wasn't just possible that it was actually happening. You just have to actually design it and you have to declare it and you need systems that support it and you gotta show up and do the work.
Welcome back to the Raquel Show. This show is for entrepreneurs who want to Play Bigger in business and in life. And today's episode is for every entrepreneur who's been carrying that someday goal, that vision that has lived in your heart for many, many, years, whether it's that new home, a beach home, time freedom, the reset, the slow mornings. And in today's episode, I am going to walk you through
I took one of those visions, spending summers out of Arizona and made it real this year. I'll share the emotional shifts that I had to go through, the tactical decisions, and of course how it all connects to the business that you are building and working today. Whether you're a mom, an agent, a coach, or someone that's navigating through major life pivots, this episode is for you.
So let's rewind. had been saying for years and years and years, one day I'm going to spend summers away from the Arizona heat, maybe by the beach. I just want to slow down, walk in the mornings and still have my business thriving. I even started to look on Zillow and Hart so many beach homes and we've even made offers. But that one day stayed on repeat until this year.
Here's the thing. I'm a big believer that if the vision is in you, it is for you, my friend, but it won't happen until you back it with action. This goal became even more important after a year of pivots caring for my mother, building businesses and holding a lot for so many people. So people often ask me, Raquel, when you have a big goal, how do you turn the vision into a plan.
This is where tactical meets the spiritual. I just didn't manifest it. I planned it and many of you guys know I don't believe in the airy fairy manifestation. It actually has to be backed with action and here's what that looked like.
Step one is define the why behind your goal. It wasn't just about the beach house. I'm away from the Arizona heat. It was about the space for stillness, calmness, healing, family memories, and just recalibrating.
Step two is reverse engineer the how. What's the budget? What is it going to cost to live by the beach for two months? Business? What systems must be in place so that I can still operate as if I was still in Arizona? And personal, who will I bring? Who will I host? What do I want this season to actually feel like? And believe it or not, my friends, sometimes you don't even know until you go into it. What daily and weekly rhythms do I need to make happen today?
Step three is I want you to decide what to say yes to and what to say no to. I said no to overbooking. I also said no to clients who were not a fit or no longer aligned. I said yes to walks, self care, and even averic, I think I said that right, healing, which is a whole another episode.
The crazy part is the perfect home showed up. It was modern, it was luxury, and it was down the street from the beach. It also had the front outdoor living that I wanted to with a gas fire pit. I couldn't have planned it any better. Sometimes you just don't know how it's going to show up, but when it does, you have to say yes, even if it scares you.
Did it scare me? Hell yes. Did it scare Brad? Of course it did. It was a down payment for a month on a luxury property. take that times two, right? The house wasn't just a win. It was proof that the things you've been saying for years is I'll do it someday can actually happen right now. So let's talk about something totally different and it's not a lot of woo woo. I just want you to hear me out.
While I was in Huntington Beach, I got my birth chart read. I didn't even know there was such a thing by an expert who also told me about astrocotography. Yes, it is your soul map and someone totally translated it for me. In certain places activate you 100%. Some places make you feel more creative. Some help you with healing. Some are more powerful for visibility or even business. And I realized the place I picked wasn't just random. It's aligned with where I was being called energetically.
So if you're listening to this and you're wondering, why do I feel stuck, uninspired or drained? Let me tell you, it might be your environment and I'm not just talking about people or communities. It might not be your strategy. It might have everything to do with where things are located and it can activate your energy and even more. I had a kick just learning about all these things and I am so happy that I took the time away to actually learn how certain weather, certain places where things are located can really activate you. I was so fascinated by it.
I had this plan also to host a bunch of events, host a bunch of people, but what actually happened is I only connected with a few. I met some new friends. I also had so much quiet time. The beach taught me to slow down. I walked every morning, definitely got my steps in. You can always tell. And look at my Apple health chart, and you'll know when I'm by the beach because you know I always get over 10,000 steps in and I just allowed myself to breathe. I didn't force anything. I got clarity on what I didn't know I actually needed. I also learned that I love hustle when it's in alignment. I can't have a ton of slow days in a row. I feel very unproductive.
You know, people often knock hustle and here's what I think. Hustle isn't the problem. Burn out is when you are hustling in the wrong direction, meaning that you're out of alignment, meaning the things that you're hustling about and getting burnt out about is probably not in alignment or your business that you're building is not in alignment with who you are.
I also proved something to myself this summer, that I can actually run a business from anywhere, from leading VIP days to client check-ins to coaching to creating new content and programs. Which a new program I'm excited about that I can't wait to share with all of you, especially my podcast listeners. I've also realized that the life I wanted wasn't just possible that it was actually happening. You just have to actually design it and you have to declare it and you need systems that support it and you gotta show up and do the work because guess what my friends, it doesn't happen magically. It just doesn't appear.
So lately I've been asked, "Raquel, how do I build a business where I can work remotely from anywhere? And here is your tactical framework. How to design your version of the summer freedom."
Number one is anchor the vision. What is your someday goal? I want you to get specific where who's with you, what you're doing each day.
Number two is I want you to audit your business. What actually requires your presence daily and also ask yourself, what could actually be automated, what could be delegated and what could be batched?
And number three is align your calendar. Does your real estate business support mobility or is it location dependent by default? And nowadays, my friends, my realtor friends out there, you can actually build a real estate business that isn't location dependent by default. So if your summer dream involves travel, extended family time, working from the beach, your calendar needs to reflect that.
Here's how to shift it. I want you to batch your in-person commitments. Group your listing appointments, your showings, your client meetings into tight windows, and then use sewing agents. Leverage them or affiliates or team support to handle some physical appointments while you're away. And make the virtual the standard. Start positioning your virtual buyer consults, listing intakes virtually. And even strategy sessions has the norm, just not the exception. I want you to leverage tools, obviously like Zoom, Loom, Hallandee, digital CMAs, HighNotes to give your clients white glove service from anywhere.
Number four is I want you to design boundaries for presence. Are you gonna be offline? Are you gonna be online? For me, I was offline in the middle of the day. I worked early mornings, evenings when we got back from the beach or whatever family thing we were doing. And I set expectations with the team, my clients, so that I could be present for what matters most.
And number five is infuse energy work. Of course, this is optional, but it's super powerful once you learn it. Use tools like human design, astrocotography, even wellness. Travel to amplify your clarity. I think it's so fun when you learn and so fascinating to see all of this all work together. So this summer I will say gave me clarity. It gave me healing and it gave me momentum for what's next. I now know that I want to design this into every single year. I want to explore maybe even other cities and from being away, I deeply appreciate home, which is Scottsdale. I think the sunshine just hits different, especially as it wakes you up and you just feel so productive in the morning.
But here's the biggest shift, my friends. I stopped waiting. I stopped wondering if this was the right time or if we could afford it or how many days we were going to spend in Huntington Beach.
Even though Bryce was away, I just did it and it changed everything. So if you're listening to this and you're realizing you've been putting off your vision of this, let me tell you, this is your sign. You don't need to wait until you burn out. You don't need to keep telling yourself maybe next year if the vision is in you, it's for you.
And guess what? Our next Play Bigger Group Coaching cohort is opening up September 1st. This is where we get to have some fun. We get to design your business around your life and not the other way around because I truly have done that. And if you are ready to create a business that has systems and the income that lets you live, not just work, we are ready to take you in by application. So I want you to DM me "agentceo" on IG at @itsraquelq or go to letsplaybigger.com. And remember, you don't need to escape your life. You just need to design a better one.
