Your Calendar Doesn’t Lie: What It Really Says About Your Business

Raquel Quinet Episode 378

What separates a $100K agent from a $1M Agent CEO? Spoiler alert—it’s not hustle, luck, or even talent. In this episode, I’m breaking down the hidden difference that changes everything: your calendar. Sounds simple, right? But your calendar is the ultimate scorecard—it reveals your priorities, your revenue, and even your future.

I’ll share why discipline isn’t about grinding harder but about caring deeper—for your vision, your family, and your goals. I’ll also give you the exact framework I use to build a CEO calendar that scales your business without sacrificing your life.

Things I cover in this episode:

  • Why your calendar tells the truth about your business (and your income)
  • The #1 mistake agents make with their time that keeps them busy but broke
  • How to design a CEO calendar that reflects your values and fuels growth
  • The 5 essential components of a high-performance calendar
  • Why discipline is proof that you actually believe in your vision

If you’re tired of feeling busy but not productive, this is the episode you need to reset your rhythms, reclaim your time, and start leading like a CEO.

The difference between a mid-level or a hundred thousand dollar agent and a one million dollar agent CEO, let me tell you it's not talent, it's not even luck, and it's not even hustle. It's actually the structure of their calendar, their priorities, and the discipline that they use to protect it. Discipline, it isn't a flex, it's actually a form of care. A care for your vision, a care for your family, a care for your goals, a care for your future, your discipline is proof that you actually believe in the vision you keep talking about.

Welcome back to The Raquel Show. This show is for entrepreneurs who want to play bigger in business and in life. And I just want to say thank you all for being a part of our community. I have connected with so many different real estate agents through this podcast. And lately I have been connecting with different producers that are absolutely crushing it in this market. Some I coach and others I have met through social media, virtual events, and it really got me thinking about our topic today.

I know that there's a lot of agents struggling out there, but let me tell you, there are people and agents crushing it in today. And I noticed one thing, the ones that are producing understand the key things they need to do to hit their goals. Today, we are diving into a topic that most people underestimate and it's your business is only as strong as your calendar. I know it may sound simple and maybe even boring, but here's the reality.

the difference between a mid-level or $100,000 agent and a $1 million agent CEO, let me tell you, it's not talent, it's not even luck, and it's not even hustle. It's actually the structure of their calendar, their priorities, and the discipline that they use to protect it. And I wanna shift your perspective today because my friend's discipline, it isn't a flex, it's actually a form of care.

A care for your vision, a care for your family, a care for your goals, a care for your future. Your discipline is proof that you actually believe in the vision you keep talking about. So if you're ready, we're going to unpack how your calendar reflects your values and your revenue. The number one mistake agents make with their time and a proven framework for building a CEO calendar that keeps you aligned and productive.

and how to start treating your calendar as a playbook for your life and business. So the first part is why your calendar is everything. I mean, think about it. Your calendar tells the truth. I know you guys are out there. We put things in our calendar and then we don't honor them. I'm so guilty of that too. But if I looked at your calendar right now, I can tell you what your priorities are, how much revenue you're set up to make, and whether you're building a business or just staying busy.

Raquel Quinet (03:36.9)
Trust me, I always feel like I'm staying busy and that is why I have multiple people around me, multiple coaches that are always telling me you've got to level up in your calendar, you've got to level up in your leadership, you've got to level up in your activities, and you got to level up the people around you. Right? And here's the thing, clarity isn't about what you say you want. Clarity is what shows up in your daily rhythm.

And if your calendar is filled with distractions or you don't honor your calendar or you have admin tasks, like I sometimes still feel like I'm in the bottleneck or I have to wait for like my team has to wait on me for approvals or appointments that don't move the needle. Then I'm surprised at the midweek, mid month, end of the month, where the heck did all the sales go? So don't be surprised when your business feels chaotic or flat.

Your calendar is your scorecard. It's a mirror that reflects your vision or the lack of it. And the people around you also have to protect that. part two is discipline is in a flex. Let's address this head on. We live in a world that glorifies the hustle culture and the idea that discipline is about grinding harder than everyone else. But discipline, isn't about grinding. Discipline is about caring. It's caring enough about your family to block out time for dinner. Even if your client wants to look at properties, it's caring enough about your body to protect your workout time. Like it's a million dollar listing. It's caring about your vision to show up for lead generation. Even when you don't feel like it, your discipline is proof that you're serious. Proof that you're not just dreaming.

You're just not thinking bigger. You're just not thinking and dreaming about success. You are actually living it with action. And the next part is the number one mistake agents make with time. Here's what I see all the time is agents let their clients, their inbox, their team, their Slack notifications, their Facebook, their Instagram, their social media notifications into their schedule.

Instead of leading it on their calendar. Instead of designing their business, they react to it. Guess what? They live in survival mode, running from showing to showing, answering texts at midnight, or never taking time for working on the business that could actually scale their business. This is why so many agents stay busy but broke. And some of are extremely smart.

Their calendar is full, but it's not full of the right things. So how do we fix it? I want you guys to build a CEO calendar and here's the five components. Number one is revenue routine first, the lockout time for lead generation, client follow-up and marketing before anything else. Number two is capacity builders.

So time for exercise, mindset, personal growth, going to events because your business grows when you do. And when you fill your cup first, you have so much energy to pour into other people, to other clients, to your team. And the next piece is core meetings. These are your weekly team huddles, your one-on-ones, your client updates that keep that machine running. And then four is creative work, content creation, strategy sessions and thinking time. If you have people that manage your social, you still are the visionary to actually go, is this the direction that I want my marketing to go?

And why are we doing some of the things that we're doing? This is where innovation lives. And then I want you to have white space because protect the buffer time. So I have things in my calendar and sometimes they're back to back and there's like the little white space, but it's there for a reason.

so that I can catch up on text messages, I can catch up on emails, or I can catch up on some things, or I can just have some room to breathe, especially after so many strategic calls when we coach. This is where ideas breathe and where you can respond without stress. I actually told my team members, I was like, I don't want to hear, unless it's super urgent, nothing before 12. I really want to protect that time so that I can get into creative mode.

I can get into thinking mode. can go into strategy because in the end it will serve them and serve them with opportunities. If we get the most important things done when you run your business from this kind of calendar, you move from chaos to clarity and you really start operating like a CEO because let's face it, you weren't here just to sell houses. You actually got into this business to run it like a business. So let me share you.

How this has changed for me. Earlier this year, I thought success meant touching everything, making sure that everything was approved, having control over all the things we were doing. And guess what? I get fatigued. I get exhausted. Sometimes after all of my coaching calls, I don't want to look at anything.

It wasn't until I created some non-negotiables in my calendar, one that reflected my values and my vision and the things that started to shift. stopped chasing and I started attracting. And let me tell you, even my coaching clients respected my time more. Sometimes they'll even know that I'll shift my calendar for better energy. My team knew what to expect and I was able to grow even this year through hard times, some things in our business.

Right when it came to our coaching, we also were able to grow as a team and we were also able to grow. We focus is some of our network. That was all done without sacrificing time with my family. And that's the power of discipline calendar. There are times where I don't want to record this podcast, but because it's on my calendar, guess what? I stay disciplined so that my team can have it.

And here is your action steps. Cause I always want to put everything into action steps. Pull your calendar out right now. Look at the next week and ask yourself, does this reflect the vision I say I want? And I'll tell you, I hired another coach and he asked me some very tough and hard questions. And he also looked at my calendar. He goes, do you think this schedule right here and the people you have are going to get you to your big vision?

And if not, what do you need to say no to? And here's the thing is if you look at your calendar, I want you to ask, does this reflect somebody else's agenda? If it doesn't reflect your vision, I want you to change it. Block time for what matters, protect it like your future depends on it because my friends, it does. Your business is only as strong as your calendar. Discipline isn't a flex, it's a form of care. And your discipline is proof.

That you believe in your vision. So stop saying you want big results while living small on your calendar. Show the world that you believe in your future by the way you structure your time and your days. And if you're ready to build a CEO calendar, scale smarter, that's exactly what we do inside of our PlayBigger coaching and our agent CEO accelerator. We help you design rhythms, systems, and discipline to turn your vision into reality.
