Before you set bigger goals or map out your 2026 business plan, there’s one powerful step most entrepreneurs skip — the audit. In this episode, I get real about what it truly takes to grow without carrying last year’s clutter into your next season. I’ll walk you through a full 360° business audit that changed everything for me — one that’s not just about numbers, but about energy, people, and systems.

I’ll share:
✨ The 4 types of audits every entrepreneur should do before scaling
✨ Why you can’t grow without clearing space first
✨ How to spot energy leaks, cluttered systems, and draining relationships
✨ The three questions that create instant clarity and alignment
✨ Why awareness — not a perfect plan — is what starts momentum

If you’re feeling stuck, stretched, or ready to start fresh, this episode will help you cut the noise, find clarity, and finally build from alignment. Grab your notebook — this is where your next level begins.

If this episode hits home and you’re ready to step into 2026 with structure and freedom, DM me “AgentCEO” on Instagram @itsraquelq and I’ll send you the details to my Agent CEO Accelerator — the space where we help you simplify, scale, and grow with purpose.

Grow Your Real Estate Business with Real Brokerage

If you want to grow, you have to clear space for what's next. You can't scale what you don't measure. So before you get into business planning and into 2026, before you build more, I want you to clear space. And before you set those goals, I want you to get really honest with yourself. Before you start chasing growth is get clarity in your alignment. Your audit isn't about judging the past. The past is the past. It's about preparing what's next.

Welcome back to another episode of The Raquel Show. This show is for entrepreneurs who want to play bigger in business and in life. And if you are anything like me, this is the time of year when you start reflecting on what worked, what didn't, and what am I ready to leave behind? And as we start making our plans, especially our new business plans with new goals, new vision boards, new strategies, here's what I want you to know that I've learned after 20 years of being in this business. Before you plan the next year, you need to audit the one you're in. Because if you don't pause to look back, guess what? You're going to end up repeating the same patterns just with a prettier goal sheet or a prettier calendar.

And so today we're going to do a business audit together, not the financial kind. Though that's part of it, but a full 360 degree look at your business of what worked, what drained you, and what needs to be deleted before you carry it into the next year. So grab a notebook or open your notes on your iPhone app or your Android app because this is where clarity starts. I used to skip this step every single year, I'd be like, okay, screw this year. Let's just move on to the next year and let's go be more excited for 2026 goals.

But then I'd finished December exhausted and think, okay, next year is going to be different. But nothing changed because I never got clear on what actually needed to change as I leveled up in my goals. I was setting new goals on top of chaos on top of clutter.

Systems that didn't work that I really needed to look at and habits that were no longer serving me and people I just kept around for comfort or obligation. I'll tell you this year that changed a little bit and until one year probably one of my hardest I had actually stopped. I sat down with a notebook and as many of you guys know I love to just brain dump, brain dump all the thoughts that are in my head, no distractions. And I wrote down three simple questions. What worked, what drained me and what needs to go. That exercise changed everything for me. It helped me see where I was leaking time, where I was holding onto thing, where I was leaking energy, where I was even leaking money and where I needed to actually double down. I started doing the audit every single year.

And it became the most non-negotiable in my process and in my coaching, because if you want to grow, you have to clear space for what's next. I'm going say that again, because I wrote it down is because if you want to grow, you have to clear space for what's next.

And we're going to break it down into four parts

  • Number one is your numbers audit. What does the data tell you in your business?
  • Number two is the energy audit. what fuels you or what drains you.
  • And then number three is the people audit who belongs in your next season. This one's a big one for me right now.
  • Number four is systems audit. What stays, what goes and what gets built.

You see, you can't scale what you don't measure. I talk to agents all the time. They're like, things are good, things are good, but they never look at the data. And then they wonder why have I not made adjustments in my business? Why am I stuck at a ceiling? Why is my business not growing? Because you have failed to look at what the data is telling you. So before you decide what you're going to do next year, get honest with this one. Look at your numbers. Look at the total of GCI and then look at your net income and look at the units because sometimes we get all hung up on gross commissions, on net income, but we look at the units and we actually sold less, but we did way more work. What's your marketing spin? What's your conversion from lead to closing? What's your average commission per deal? Has it gone up or has it gone down?

And I want you to look at where your clients actually come from. So I want you to ask yourself what sources gave me the highest return of investment, the highest  ROI and which ones just drained my resources. I can tell you from now as we were auditing some of our books is I signed up for a bunch of things we beta tested this year when it came to AI tools, when it came to video content, when it came to starting different channels, we had to just get rid of them. And right now you might just realize that you have one lead source that gives you 80 % of your revenue while the other ones of gave you headaches. So that's clarity and clarity is always your strategy.

That's where we always begin when we want to grow and we want to scale something. Next is your energy audit. Beyond your numbers, I want you to ask yourself is what gave me energy this year? What actually drained me? Think about the clients or even the type of clients. Think about the projects or even your content or content days or collaborations and some of your commitments, or even when you look at your calendar and you look at all the meanings that are on your calendar, what's giving you energy and what's not? can tell you, even if there's very few people that show up to our agent CEO, and we have about 50 people, 40 to 50 people.

But sometimes only two or three will show up. And those are like my favorite because I feel like I get to personally coach them one-on-one or really dig into their business versus teaching something that's super blanket. And I'll end up giving them extra tools. So I light up when I get to teach. And this is where you may want to think about the things that you're doing right now. What are the ones that light you up? What are the ones that you dread showing up to?

This is where I have a tip for you. If you are delaying a response for an invitation or let's say somebody wants to go out to eat or go to a conference with you or you saying yes to speaking, if you are delaying that invitation of whether or not you're trying to figure it out, it's probably a no because if it lit you up, it'd be a hell yes.

So this is where self-awareness becomes your compass because sometimes the biggest pivots isn't in what you do, it's in what you stop doing. You don't need to fill every minute of your calendar. Matter of fact, I would love for some of you guys to have some flexibilities, even top agents. I think that was a big game changer as well as I looked at some of our clients is when they had a little bit more room and a little bit more flexibility, they were able to create and do even bigger things. You need to fill it with the right things that energize you, that expand you, that align with you with where you are going.

So the next piece is people. Let's do an audit on your people. Let's talk about your circle, your clients, your teams, your peers, your friends, your inner circle, your outer circle, your acquaintances, whatever is taking time away from your day to day because of people.

Who is actually helping you grow and who is keeping you stuck? And guess what? It's not always easy to face, but sometimes your next level requires new alignment. ask yourself, who do I want to collaborate with next year? Who drains my energy or distracts my focus? Actually, I have clients, I'll tell you, that I know just sort of, and it's on me, push my boundaries because there are things going, I probably would not send this late of a text to one of my mentors or to one of my coaches or to one of my friends because I know that they're with family. I know that their weekends are super protected for family. So I really try to hold off on a lot of communication with a lot of people over the weekends because it's my family time. And so I want you to think about some of those things is as you go into next year. And I also want you to think about who stretches you to think bigger. If you want to play bigger, guess what? Your environment has to support that. I just got a call from somebody today that says, I want to join your brokerage and have you as my sponsor. I was so honored.

Boy, was I honored because I probably do a terrible job at pitching our brokerage. And I know I give a ton of value, but let me tell you.

The moment I got that phone call, was like, I do not want you to go through this alone, this onboarding process. If there is anything that I could do to support you and help you become even more successful, then I'm down, right? So think about your environment. If you want to play bigger, your environment just has to support that. And that's where I believe so strongly that community matters because proximity accelerates progress.

Finally, I want you to look at your systems. You know, I jam about systems all day long. I love efficiencies and the operational side of the business. What tools actually made your life easier this year and which one created distractions or even bottlenecks? And what tasks do you still do manually that probably could be automated?

I look at our team right now and I can tell you just even this week I was like, it's taking us three hours to clear lots of inboxes. There's no way that we're going to take that same approach into 2026. So it's really good that I get to look at everybody's calendars and see where their time is being utilized and where it's not being efficient or not being resourceful is I'm like, okay, there's got to be another system for this or there's got to be another tool for this.

Your systems, my friend, should serve you. And if they don't, this is a reminder that you just need to simplify because structure creates space. And guess what? Space gives you freedom. So here's my assignment for you this week. I want you to set one hour aside for your personal business audit. No phones, no distractions, just you and your business. And number two, I want you to ask the questions and write the answers honestly. What worked this year?

What drained me and what needs to be delegated or deleted. And number three is highlight the top three things that need to change before the new year. Guess what? You don't need a perfect plan. You just need awareness sometimes. And because awareness creates alignment and alignment can create momentum for you to reach your big big goals. So if this episode hit home and you know you're ready to go in next year with clarity and with structure, then of course I wanna invite you to Agent CEO Accelerator because inside there we help you build systems that create consistency and scale.

We simplify your business so it works with your life, not the other way around, and we surround yourself with a community of agents who are growing with purpose and not chaos. So DM me the word "AgentCEO" on Instagram at @itsraquelq and I will have my team send you all the details.

Because clarity without action, guess what? Nothing changes. But clarity with systems, that's where freedom begins. And here's the truth. You can't step into your next season carrying what was meant to stay in your last one.

So before you get into business planning and into 2026, before you build more, I want you to clear space. And before you set those goals, I want you to get really honest with yourself and before you start chasing growth is get clarity in your alignment.

Your audit isn't about judging the past. The past is the past. It's about preparing what's next. So as you close this chapter, ask yourself, what am I ready to let go of? And what am I looking forward to creating in this next chapter?

I want to thank you all for hanging out with me today and tuning into another quick episode. I want you to share this with a friend and until next time, I want you to keep reflecting, keep refining and always, always, always Play Bigger
