Welcome back to another episode of the Play Bigger Podcast. This show is for entrepreneurs and real estate agents who want to Play Bigger in business and in life. And let's be honest, building a business isn't for the faint of the heart because you didn't get in here to play small. You came here to grow, to lead and to Play Bigger. So I want to get into it because today we're talking about what it's actually going to take for agents to be successful in 2026. You know, the ins, the outs and the tools you cannot live without. And if you've been feeling like the market has shifted or started slow for you, if you're watching other agents look busy, but nothing's really moving, I want you to hear me clearly. This is not a time to pull back. This is a time to simplify, to execute and take action because playing small doesn't protect you. It costs you and it costs you opportunities, clarity and the momentum that comes from being consistent. And by the end of this episode, you're gonna know exactly what's in, what's out, and what you need to focus on if you want 2026 to be your best without the burnout. And I truly believe that 2026 is going to reward those agents that have the consistency to keep going in any market.
So grab your notebook. This one will tighten your strategies and of course your standards. I remember seasons in my career when I thought the answer was more and more ideas, more hires, more platforms, more tools, more strategies, and it looked good on the outside, but behind the scene it was heavy because growth without structure doesn't scale it actually suffocates and it creates all this chaos. And I see agents all the time. They think if I just had more people, if I had a bigger team, I would be successful. Or if I added more things, eventually things will work out. But here's what I learned and what 2026 is going to punish bloated teams and growing for the sake of growing is out. Yes, I said it growing for the sake of growing is out and bloated teams are out. If you don't have culture, you don't have systems and you don't have clarity.
More people just means more problems and less profit. And also having too many ideas without blocking the time to execute. There are so many distractions, so many classes, so many masterminds, so many virtual events. The fastest way to stay stuck is go to all those things, feel busy and never have the time to execute. The agents who will win in 2026 won't be the ones that have the most potential.
They'll be the ones with the most follow through this year isn't about doing more. It's about doing less, better, simplifying, executing, and taking action. So I want to break this down because y'all know how much I love frameworks into four pillars that will determine who wins in 2026.
Number one is clarity and reputation.
Number two is consistency and results.
And number three is systems and AI without losing the human connectivity or human touch.
And number four is connection and culture.
So let's go. Here's the truth. Clients value clarity over the flash. And what I mean by that is buyers and sellers want certainty, not confusion. They don't want you to overwhelm them with lots of information. People don't have time today. Just like the buyer guides, the seller guides that are 20 to 30 pages long on your social. Those are out. People want to skim through things. People want cheat sheets. People want checklists. They want to know what they can do to reach their goals and they want you to help them make very confident decisions. Things that they can't ask ChatGPT things that they don't know about the market. And in 2026, your reputation is currency, your online presence, your reviews, your referrals, all of that is your reputation. And trust is built before the first conversation.
So if your business relies on you convincing people to get on the phone, you might be behind. And in 2026, your job is to become the agent who feels like it's the obvious no brainer choice. And that starts with clear positioning, clear processes, a clear communication because clarity creates confidence and confidence creates clients. So let's call it how it is. Busy does not mean productive in 2026. Your success will be tied to the results. You can measure signed contracts, which are pending deals or assigned by your broker agreements, closed deals, referrals generated, not how many tasks you've actually checked off, not how full your day felt. And this is where there's too many ideas that truly just become a problem because most agents don't fail from the lack of ideas. They fail from the lack of execution. I see it over and over.
So what's in for 2026 consistency is in consistency in how you generate leads, how you follow up, how you market yourself and how you market your clients properties and the client experience. If you can showcase your clients experience on social media in your marketing, it will win. Because consistency beats talent and consistency beats motivation and consistency beats potential. You don't need to reinvent yourself every month or every week trying to figure out what the algorithm is. You just need to run the play daily.
Systems are no longer optional anymore. In 2026 is going to reward the agents who protect their time, protect their energy and protect their money. It is why I have been teaching systems for years. Systems save you from the burnout because they stop your business from living inside your brain. If you're doing something manually more than once, it probably needs a system.
Now let's talk AI because yes, leveraging AI is in, and some of you guys may even think AI could be my coach. What I'll tell you is AI doesn't always necessarily have the experience to scale in your market, a real estate business. So let's be clear. AI is not your personality. AI should help you draft faster, create content faster, organize your content, summarize calls, build checklists, create automations, streamline your followup. But being human is still the advantage. Learning how to connect with other humans will be the differentiator. So the goal isn't to automate your relationships. The goal is to automate everything that steals time from your relationships. I'm going to say that again because it was so good. The goal is to automate everything that steals your time from relationship. And that's the big one.
If you want one word that will define 2026, it's this connection, connection and culture is the difference maker. Building connection online and offline is in. And here's the part people underestimate. Culture matters. Culture isn't just for big teams. Culture is how you show up, how your clients feel, how your partners experience you and how your business operates when things are stressful. And if you don't have a team, here's what's going to be out. A bunch of people with no standards, no process, no alignment, no accountability. And in 2026, small teams, medium sized teams, even large teams, which strong culture and strong systems will outperform the teams that have massive chaos and learning from people who already have a process and system that is in. So stop trying to figure out everything on your own or trying to think that it's cheaper. If you want to scale without the burnout, you'll need proven systems. You'll need a cadence or some type of rhythm. You'll need community proximity because they energize you and proximity collapses time.
I want you to think about this. Where have you been collecting ideas, but not blocking the time to execute? Where have you actually been busy, but not producing measurable outcomes or results? What in your business is missing right now? Is it the clarity? Is it the consistency? Is it the systems? Is it the culture? Is it the connection? And here's the big one. If in 2026 rewarded simplicity, what would you stop doing immediately? What would you actually eliminate? Because the agents who will win this year won't be the ones who do more. They'll be the ones that do what matters consistently.
