My Brothers and Sisters in Christ - Our modern day culture and society are obsessed with the self. Everywhere you look, people are calling attention to themselves in various ways - Facebook profiles, WhatsApp status, Instagram pics, tik tok videos, Twitter twits, you name it.. People want personal credit: likes, views, compliments -- for everything they do ---- for what they possess. People can be extremely selfish these days. They resist helping others who have less. They have no regard for those who are suffering economically.
And most tragically of all, many people have no idea what God expects of them - and why God created them in the first place!
The scriptures this Sunday tell us why we are here – and what is expected of us as God’s creation. They present a two-fold mission to the world, to be salt and to be light.
Is your salt salty and your light shining? If not then you are in the right place. Let us pray for the grace to be salt of the earth and light of the world.
