A CALL TO LIVING WATER: 3rd Sunday of Lent Yr. A 2026

Brothers and Sisters in the Lord, the human body can survive for about 3 weeks without any food. Yet, we can live for only 3 days without water. We feel hungry when we need food. And we experience thirst without water. We also have a built-in psychological hunger and thirst. We want to possess things -We want to be in control of our lives. Some even want to control everything around them. And we all want to experience recognition and love.
Unfortunately, most people are never satisfied with what they possess or have acquired. The reason is that they are missing what the human soul and spirit truly need. We need to possess God’s life and love – or we remain empty -- And until we learn to live and nourish ourselves on a spiritual level – we will always hunger and thirst for more of what this world has to offer!
On this 3rd sunday of Lent we learn that but also that the way of sin complicates our lives but the way of the Lord simplifies it. May we have the courage to step away from the turmoil. May we have the determination to live in Divine Simplicity, to live in the peace of the Lord.
