Welcome back to the NFL Betting Edge with Pittsburgh Billy and Zach back for the 2026 season. We're just going to do a preview of the NFC, go over each team division by division, breaking them down, get right into it. We'll start with the NFC East, the Philadelphia Eagles. Pittsburgh Billy, what do you think?

Great to be back for a fourth season, Zach. Let's dive right into the Eagles. Big coaching change with uh Mannion coming in as OC. It's like the fourth year in a row. They switched offensive coordinators. Uh the departure of uh AJ Brown is probably the big offseason news. But um I think it's actually going to help them a little because he uh he was a huge disruption for most of the season last year. Um I think he's better off and they're better off. It was a win-win him going to New England. Um uh Eagles basically the same team as last year. Added Grenard on defense and uh lost a couple guys, uh Phillips and Blankenship. Uh replaceable, though. And um, you know, the fee the Eagles have uh a lot of elite players on this team. Barkley, left tackle, my Lotta, Carter, who just got a big contract, Zach Bond, and Cooper Dejean. I all have ranked as elite. Um their schedule's the seventh toughest this year. Um they are I I do have them favored to win the division. Uh I have their wins. Well, the the NFC gets nine home games um and and eight road games, but the Eagles have one of their road games in a neutral site, which is a big advantage. So they have nine home games, seven road games and one neutral uh against Jacksonville. Um, yeah, seventh hardest schedule. Uh they are gonna be good again, no doubt about it. Uh um penciled in at 10.49. Um, I'm gonna give you the line of uh a sharp, one of the sharper um offshore books out there, and they have 10.5 under 40, which um really is no value. I have their win range, 10 to 11 wins, and um I have them power rated seventh in the NFL overall and favored to win the division. And we'll wrap up the divisions once I go through all the teams.

All right, next team in the NFC East is the Dallas Cowboys high-powered offense last year and bringing almost everyone back. Uh, what do you think about this team?

SPEAKER_01 2:58

Yeah, I like the coaching staff a lot. Um actually, I rated the coaching staffs um elite, good, average, below average, and poor. Um Cowboys get a good rating. Um really like the weapons, like Zach said, on offense. The passing game should be good. The running game again. Um, this team's gonna be really good. The problem is uh, you know, the schedule's really hard, and the total's nine and a half uh over. Uh we made it nine point six, so no value there. Uh my range is nine to ten wins. Um to make the playoffs, Dallas is a dead pick'em. And I have Dallas power rated 10th in the NFL. And they have a good shot of making the playoffs. And I'll tell you what, that high-powered offense act, they got a shot to to beat people. And um really like uh Dallas's draft this year. They really went uh defensive oriented. They got Caleb Downs, who might be the might end up being the best player in the draft. Um two edge rushers after that. But uh, yeah, I I think Dallas really strengthened their team in the offseason. Um and uh I I like the Cowboys. I think they're gonna give the Eagles a run here, Zach.

All right, heading into our next team, we have the New York Giants, who people are pretty bullish on. Jackson Dart getting his offensive weapons back and bringing in the new coach Harbaugh. What do you think?

SPEAKER_01 4:44

Well, I'm I'm gonna be in the minority here, but I I'm not I'm not really a John Harbaugh fan, honestly. I uh I don't think it's as good a hire as most people do. And um, you know, the offensive coordinator, Nagy for Kansas City. I mean, he had Patrick Mahomes the whole the whole time he was there, and Andy Reid called the play. So I I don't really see what he's gonna add to the mix. Um plus the fact that these, you know, their their star player, Scataboo, neighbors, and Dart are extremely injury prone. Uh the schedule's tough. The total's seven and a half flat. Um I made it seven on the nose. Uh kind of lean under uh, but would not recommend it yet. I I want to see them in in training camp, how they're gonna gel. Uh the that first game against the Cowboys is really big for the Giants. They they have to win that game if they want to compete for anything this year. Um kind of like the Giants draft. They got two first-round picks, uh, an edge rusher and and an offensive tackle that they're gonna start right out of the gate at guard. So uh their offensive line should definitely be better if it stays healthy. Thomas has gotten hurt uh the la the past three seasons. He's a really good player if he can stay healthy. But I think the key to this team is injuries, Zach. Um they've they've not been healthy the past few years, and it's cost them. And um, yeah, they Harbaugh could come in and help them, but um they got to stay healthy and and I got a projected at 7.08 wins, range of six to seven wins. I I lean under, but I haven't I haven't uh done anything as as of yet.

Okay, wrapping up, uh the last team in the NFC East, the Washington Commanders, who after a down year looking to bounce back with Jaden Daniels.

This all depends on Jaden Daniels, uh how he performs this year. I like the fact that uh Dan Quinn brought in Blau as the OC. I think it's an upgrade. Um Dan Quinn's been a winning coach uh most of his career. I like him a lot. Um give the coaching uh uh grade a four, which is good. And uh, you know, Washington uh added a lot of free agents on defense. Um that's kind of what the Vikings did last year, and it kind of worked out for them. Uh, but you know, I don't know. Uh their defense can't be any worse than it was last year. It should be a little better. Um, so if if the offense can um can do what they did two years ago, this team could compete. Um I got their win range between seven and eight games, uh finishing third in the division, um 7.44. I made their win total. It's seven and a half over a quarter. Um so no season win bets in this division. Um going from top to bottom, Philly, I give 38% to win the division, which is plus 163, they're plus 140. Dallas, 37%, which would be plus 70, they're plus 85. Might be able to find two to one. I'll tell you, if I if I could find 220, I know it opened 230. If I could find like a, if I had that number, I might take a flyer on the Cowboys to win the division, but not at this number. I think the number's been hit down. Uh Washington, I give 15%, which is plus 566, and the Books have plus 430, and the Giants 10%, which is plus 900, and it's plus 555. Um, Philly, I have power rated seventh, Dallas 10th, Washington 22nd, and the Giants 28th. Um, all four teams have tough schedules. Dallas has the hardest of the four. Um the Eagles are favored in 13 games. The Cowboys are favored in 10. And Washington and the Giants five each. Um I really don't see anything right now to play in this division uh as far as bets. I have nothing in it. Um that could change, though. We're gonna update these um when we come back for week one on September 2nd. So we'll head on to the NFC North, son.

NFC North, we have first team Detroit Lions. Who after a disappointing 2025 season look to bounce back with uh Dan Campbell at the helm. What do you think of this team?

SPEAKER_01 9:36

Yeah, the weaknesses of the Lions uh offensive line has uh went through a lot of changes. Um I have concerns there. Uh secondary Joseph and Branch at safety um may not start the season uh with the team. They're injured from last year. Uh Branch has a better chance than Joseph. But um, you know, if Goff doesn't get time to throw, um he's he's just not effective. I also don't like the fact that they lost Montgomery, and now Gibbs will probably he'll probably get 80 to 90 percent of the snaps, and I'm not sure he's built for that. Um it was he had a nice situation where he only had to play half the game last year. Uh he's a great player. I'm not gonna take anything away from him. Lions have great receivers, their offense is if is explosive when they protect off. Um they are my favorite to win the division, very slightly though, not by much. Um made their win total 11.08 made their win total, have their win range between 10 and 11 games, and I do have them projected to come in first in the division, just like the odds makers do.

Okay, next team. We have the Green Bay Packers. Uh, what do you think about the Packers?

SPEAKER_01 11:02

Yeah, the Packers didn't do anything to help their team this year. Um they didn't have a first-round draft pick either. Mika Parsons definitely is going to be out for the first few games this year. And uh, you know, once he comes back, he'll probably help him be on a snap count. So I don't think they can really rely on him until almost midway through the season. Um Jordan Love, you know, um makes big plays. He's got great receivers. I mean, they're counting on Golden and Watson to really step up. If Watson can stay healthy, uh Green Bay is capable of making good plays. Uh Josh Jacobs is starting to wear down a little bit. Um had a rough season. He's banged up going to the season. He's got some legal issues as well, and they don't have any running backs really behind them. Their offensive line is the big issue here. They they just did nothing, except for Zach Tom. They they did nothing uh to make it better. They lost Elton Jenkins, um, who was a key part of the line. Uh Walker, they lost as well. Um Kraft comes back from injury. He's a really good player. I mean, the receivers are there, and love makes big plays. He doesn't like to get hit, though, throws off the back foot. It's kind of like throw it up and hope the receiver makes a play type thing. Um defensively, uh the Packers should be about the same as they were last year. I don't I don't really see much difference. Uh coaching is a is definitely above average to good. And um I have their win range between nine and ten wins for the season. And I made the number 9.54. So um I when this number came out, it was 10 and a half uh under under 20. Now it's 10.5 under 75 and 80, unbetable. Um, I also there was a big number on the Packers that missed the playoffs. Now they're only minus 20 to make the playoffs. So um, you know, when the line came out, it was fine, but uh it's it's been bet to the point where there's no value in it anymore.

Okay, next uh NFC North team, we have the Minnesota Vikings who signed Kyler Murray at quarterback, finally getting that addition. With Kevin O'Connell at the helm, you'll always have a good offense. So what do you think of this team?

SPEAKER_01 13:35

Yeah, it's my favorite coaching uh staff with uh O'Connell and Flores. Kyler, I mean, Minnesota had the 32nd uh quarterback efficiency, I mean, by a lot, too, last year. I mean, Kyler Murray should be a big upgrade. Uh he's never had good receivers, never really had a good offensive line, never really had good coaching. Um, now he's getting all of that. Uh, I mean, Minnesota probably the best trio of receivers in the league with Jefferson Addison. Now they add Juwan Jennings. Good offensive line as well. Center, a little bit of a question mark, but veteran Brandle steps in. Uh, they have Jurgens backing them up. I think they'll be fine there. Um, and they have depth, they added Van Dandemark. Um, and I I I I really like I think their offense is going to take a big step up. And I think Kyler Murray's 100% going to be the starter. And I'd be I'd be totally shocked if he isn't. Uh defensively, they lost some of the free agents they added last year. Allen, Hargrave, and Grenard. But uh I don't know. I think they added a lot of young players uh that didn't get playing time last year. And uh I think Flores will use that to his advantage. Um and I think it's gonna, I I think the defense is not gonna lose anything. Um I know a lot of people are down uh on the defense because they didn't really uh add any big pieces. Um thought the Vikings had a pretty good draft with Caleb Banks and uh and a slew of offensive linemen and defensive players. So uh I love the Vikings over eight and a half in this spot. I tweeted it out a few weeks ago, but really like the Vikings here to uh to go over the eight and a half. I think you can find eight and a half flat to also. Um the sharp book has eight and a half over a quarter, but there's definitely eight and a half flats out there, and I really think that's a good over. I made their total um 9.33, and I have their win range between nine and ten, and uh they're really as good as anybody in the division. Also um made a small bet on their on them to win the division at plus 550. Uh I'll go over the division after I do the Bears.

All right, rounding out this gauntlet of a division. We have the Chicago Bears, who had one of the most exciting 2025 seasons I've seen for a franchise in a while. What an unbelievable season. Unbelievable playoff game, too, to the Rams. Even though they came up short. That was exciting and a very exciting team. So uh I like them heading into this season. What do you think?

Yeah, Caleb Williams uh really has the highest ceiling of any quarterback in the league, including Stafford. Um, I mean, he's just I mean, him and Ben Johnson are in their second year, I think they are gonna do really well. Their offense is gonna put points up. Question is their defense uh and their tough, they have a really hard schedule. And I made their number 9.75. Uh and you know, the Packers, Vikings, and Bears, I all have that win range uh in the 9-10 range with the Lions. Lions have an easy schedule, and I initially liked them to win the division. Uh but I dropped it down to 33% because I'm very concerned about the offensive line and the secondary. Terry and Ardle, of course, uh, with the legal issues, is off the team now, but um, I don't think they lose much there, but they're not really replacing them with anybody good. So I think the secondary is going to struggle. Their front seven's really good. Um, I I give them a 33% chance to win the division. Uh that equates to plus 203, and the books have plus 40 now. Um that's down from like plus, I think it was high as plus 80. And uh initially I liked it, but uh I don't know, not since I kind of dug in. I'm worried about the offensive line in the secondary on this team. Um the Bears I give a 26% chance, which is 285, and they're at 315 right now. Vikings 29%, uh, which equals plus two forty-four, and they're and this book has 465, but you can take 550. There's 550s out there, too. Um, and the Packers, I only have 12% to win it. Um that equates to 669, and they're plus 265. Uh so um the the Lions have the 32nd easiest schedule. The Bears have the seventh hardest. Uh Minnesota is in the middle of the pack at 15, and so is Green Bay at 18. Um the Lions are projected to be favored in 14 games, the Bears 12, Vikings eight, and Green Bay 13. But that that stuff changes as you get into the season. Um but uh yeah, in this division, I think the Vikings uh right now uh are the play that has value. Um so I like the Vikings over eight and a half. Also, if you can take the Vikings like plus sixty to make the playoffs, uh this book has plus fifty, but I I'm pretty sure there's might even be plus seventies out there. Um that's pretty good value. They um that's a big number for a team that has a really good shot of at least being a wild card.

So all right. We'll head into the NFC South next. Year in and year out, the weakest division in the NFL, I'd say, typically only have one team advancing to playoffs. Uh we'll start with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who uh lost in their uh divisional matchup last year at the end of the season with Carolina division on the line. Uh their first time not winning the division in maybe four or five years. So uh what do you think about this team?

Yeah, I'm down on Tampa this year. Um losing Mike Evans is just a killer. Uh the coaching stuff is among the worst in the league. I've rated it poor. And uh I don't know, they're saying they didn't really do much to improve the secondary. And they did add some pieces on defense. They have a decent O-line. Uh Mayfield looks like he's gonna be playing for a contract, but I don't know. He's beat, he gets beat up easy, slow. I I just don't like their team. I I I think it this division is very close. All the teams are really close. Uh, and they made Tampa's win total eight and a half. Uh so I uh I do like an under eight and a half uh wins, Tampa and the division. Uh their schedule's difficult. And um uh I think I think there's eight and a half under 30s. If you can get that still, that's a good bet. Tampa under eight and a half.

All right, next team in the division. We have the Falcons with a juggernaut offense, just depending on who the quarterback will be. Uh Bichon at running back and Drake London at receiver. Those are two of the best skill position players in the league. So uh what do you think about the Falcons?

SPEAKER_01 21:30

Um, I have them uh slightly, I mean, everybody's real closely rated in the division for me. Uh but I have the Falcons near the bottom. And uh I I think Tua might actually have a chance to do well. Not crazy about the coaching hire. Um Stefansky, but it is an upgrade over Morris for sure. Um course, like Zach said, they do have some explosiveness. On offense with London and Bijan. They got a really good offensive line. I mean, their defense, uh, everyone, every year people say it's going to be better. Um, this year it could be better. Listen, I wouldn't be shocked if the Falcons won the division. Uh, but um I don't like their range between seven and eight wins, made their win total 7.3. And uh I have no bets on there on the Falcons.

Okay, next team. We have the New Orleans Saints with Shuck at quarterback. Uh team definitely made strides last year. Uh, what do you think about them heading into this season?

SPEAKER_01 22:40

Oh, I'm I'm high on the Saints. I I I don't have any bets on them because the numbers kind of out of whack. And you know, their first two games are brutal. They're at Detroit and at Baltimore, which uh which is really tough. But after that, their schedule gets really easy. It's 30th of easiest, 30th toughest, so it's one of the easier schedules in the league after the first two weeks. Um, really like their draft, too. They had a great draft. Guys that are gonna immediately help them. Their roster's just a lot better already this year. Kellen Moore in his second year, loved the job he did last year. Uh hired Nussmeyer as OC. Um I I just think this team is on the right track. Uh the offensive line's gonna be better. Um, the receivers, Jordan Tyson, really good draft pick to go along with Olave. I mean, they've really upgraded that group. Um I made their win total 8.18, but I would not, and I actually do have their uh win range between eight and nine, but I would not bet this over. Uh it's seven and a half over 35. I wouldn't bet it over simply because they play the Lions at Lions and at Ravens first two weeks. So uh if they would happen to lose both of those games, I'll be probably looking to bet the over because the line will be uh the number will be reduced. So um nothing going into the season for me on the Saints.

All right, and rounding out this poor division, we have the Carolina Panthers who won their first division title last year, giving the Rams a pretty good game, too, in their uh wild card round. So, what do you think about the Panthers?

SPEAKER_01 24:31

They Panthers got unlucky uh this year. They have a really hard schedule. Um, and both of their starting tackles are not going to start the season at Kwanu and Moton. Um Scourton, also their second-round pick, linebacker from last year, who really had a good season, played great down the stretch. He's out for the year with an Achilles, and uh they added Devin Lloyd from uh Jacksonville, which is a great addition. Also Jalen Phillips, too. They added from Philly. So they uh they put two uh two really tough pieces, uh, added two tough players at linebackers. Um their D-line isn't bad, their secondary is all right. I mean, their team is fine. I'm not sure how the offensive line is gonna do. And you know, Young does need protection to be effective. Uh he kind of crumbles a lot when the pocket breaks down. And uh so if they don't protect them, uh the offense might be in trouble. Uh they lost Dow to the Steelers, um, which was kind of a big loss because they didn't really replace him. I mean, with anybody. They have uh now they have Hubbard, Chuba Hubbard is their feature back, and not much else. So um, but Tet McMillan had a decent season if they can get him the ball. Um I got the win range between seven and eight on Carolina. Don't have any bets for him. And uh gave the coaching an above average, good rating. As far as the division goes, uh a bet I really, really like, even more than under eight and a half uh for Tampa is Tampa not to make the playoffs. Uh you can lay 40 at DraftKings. Uh the Sharp office has minus 57. Um, here's the thing about this division: there's only going to be one playoff team, the division winner. There's not going to be a wild card from this division because the other divisions are so so talented, especially the north and the west. Um, the north actually has four really good teams, and the and the west has three really good teams. So the wildcard is not coming from this division. And for Tampa to win the division uh is plus 95. So if you would bet them not to win the division, you'd probably have to lay like 230 or 240. And you're only laying 40 for them not to make the playoffs. You're basically laying 40 for them not to win the division. It's a really good bet. Uh I recommend it highly. Tampa not to make the playoffs. I give them a 27% chance to win the division, which is plus 270. And uh they're plus 95 uh at the at the book. Uh Falcons, I give 18%, which is 455, and they're 340 at the book. The Panthers, 27%, same as Tampa, 270, and they're 285. Saints, I give it the most 28%, one point above Carolina and Tampa. They're two that that equates to 257 and they're 260 uh at the books. Um I power rate these teams really close. The Saints 21st, uh Panthers 23rd, Tampa 24th, and Atlanta 25th. Uh Tampa, Atlanta, and Carolina all have really hard schedules, especially Carolina has the third hardest schedule in the NFL. And the Saints have the 31st hardest, which is the second easiest. And um I'm high on the Saints, I gotta tell you. After those first two games, though, uh if they would happen to upset the Lions, uh I think the win total goes over for sure. I don't see them beating Baltimore the second week, but um uh yeah, the the the best bet in the division is Tampa under eight and a half, and Tampa not to make the playoffs.

All right, we round out the worst division in football, and we head to the best division in football, the NFC West. We'll start with the Super Bowl favorites, the Los Angeles Rams. Uh, what do you think about this team?

SPEAKER_01 28:51

Well, it's kind of like the Dodgers in baseball. It's almost unfair. Um, on paper, there's just leaps and bounds better than everyone else. When you had Miles Garrett and two uh top corners, and that was basically your weakness last year was the the cornerback play and the pass rush. And uh you had those pieces along to the with that offense, and the coaching is elite. And uh the Rams by far should be a short favorite to win it all when the NFC, and they are so uh you know you you can't bet it, but the Rams are are legit and they deserve to be the number one team.

Okay, next we have the San Francisco 49ers. Should be pretty good, had a successful year last year. Uh beat the Eagles, upset them in Philly in the wildcard round. So uh what do you think of this team?

SPEAKER_01 29:44

Um, I like them a lot, actually. Um, I think Shanahan will be back in a few weeks. I'm pretty sure of that. He's not too banged up, he's got a slight concussion. He'll he'll be fine. Um, I really like the way this team situated a quarterback with Purdy and Mac Jones. Um McCaffrey, of course, is a stud. They added Mike Evans and Christian Kirk to go along with Pearsall. Um, they got they they drafted Stribling, uh, who looks like he could be a good one out of Mississippi in the second round. Uh, and DeMarcus Robinson also backs up the three starters. They they got a really good receiving core. Um, their offensive line should be really good again. Um, they added Jones from Dallas at left guard. Uh defensively, you know, last year they uh basically their whole defense got injured, and now everybody's back and healthy. Nick Bose is practicing in full already. Um, so is Fred Warner. Uh they added Greenlaw, um who didn't work out uh too well for the Broncos. So, I mean, I like this team a lot. Um, they're gonna give the Rams uh all they want. Uh the first game in Australia. I think the Rams are three and a half. Um I uh definitely I haven't bet anything yet in the first week, but I'm definitely uh definitely looking at San Francisco plus three and a half there. I think that's a that's a big line to the neutral field. Um as far as the Niners go, made their win range between 10 and 11. And uh I think they're gonna finish second ahead of Seattle in the division. Um made their win, made their wins exactly 10.5, and uh the coaching's very good. And um we'll see.

All right, next we go to the Super Bowl champions of last season, the Seattle Seahawks, who I believe got most of their players back. Sling and Sammy will be back for another year. Uh, what do you think of this team?

SPEAKER_01 32:00

Uh well, the big loss is running back. Walker goes to Kansas City. That's a huge loss. And now Charbonnet is probably going to be out for the first half of the season. They drafted Price, uh, and they have Hawani. That's a it's a huge drop off uh at running back from what they had last year with Charbonnet and Walker. Um the interior offensive line uh did play hard, but it's still undermanned. Um, like the tackles a lot. You know, it's a Super Bowl champion coming back. Um their defense is pretty much back for the most part. They lost Bryant to the Bears. Um, other than that, um, everybody else is back. Eamon Wori might miss the first few games. Um he's injured. But uh and they lost uh Kubiak as well to uh the Raiders. So, I mean that's a big loss. He was he was uh he's a great OC and a great coach. So I I think the coaching uh, you know, they replaced him with uh Ryan Fleury, but uh man, I don't know. Uh I I just don't see them repeating. I think they're gonna be good again and tough, but uh I got them third in the division. Uh, and I got their win total uh just below the Niners at 10.4. Um tough schedule for the Seahawks, tough schedule for uh all three teams, actually. I'll go over that in a minute as soon as we talk about the Cardinals then.

Yeah, rounding out the almost surefire last place team in this division, the Arizona Cardinals, uh, who did not have a good season last year going 3-14. What do you think of this team?

SPEAKER_01 33:45

Well, uh Mike LaFleur comes in and uh he brings Hackett with him. Um I don't know. Uh it's really hard to say how the how the coaching's gonna do the first year. It might the team's gonna struggle for sure. Um, I will say one thing. Um they threw the ball really well last year. And uh Brissett's probably gonna throw it good again. He just signed him. Um and uh he's got Michael Wilson and he's got uh Harrison. I think will have a much better year than he did last year. And running backs, they're just loaded. They drafted Love. He's a stud from Notre Dame. Uh, you know, they got Siamalo uh from Pittsburgh at guard. The offensive line's iffy. Trey McBride's a great tight end. I think they're gonna score some points this year. Problem is they have the toughest schedule in the NFL. How fair is that? I mean, they they were terrible last year, and then uh they get rewarded with the hardest schedule in the league. So uh and the defense uh is a work in progress, without a doubt. Uh they're gonna give points up this year, especially how hard the division is. So um, yeah, I got the Cardinals a distant fourth, and I have them power in at 31st in the NFL. Even though I do think the offense uh could excel this year as the season goes on, especially. Taking a look at this division from top to bottom. Uh I give the Rams a 54% chance of winning the division is minus 17. They're minus 35. Uh Seattle and San Francisco, I have both at 23%, but I do I have a slight lean to the the Niners, uh, but there's no value betting it. Um I have the Rams uh as the number one ranked team. I have the Niners as the number five team and the Seahawks as the number six team. Cardinals 31. Uh Rams have the fourth toughest schedule. Uh I don't want to go over 10 and a half. Uh the line's 10.5 under 50 or 9.5 on over 60, whichever you prefer. But um I right now I don't have anything uh that I like in this division. Uh recapping my bets, I love the Vikings over eight and a half, the Bucks of Tampa Bay under eight and a half, and the Bucks not to make the playoffs minus 40 at DraftKings.
