Welcome back to the NFL Betting Edge with Pittsburgh Billy, your host Zach, and the professor. Week one is in the books, and we are heading into week two. Before we get there, though, we're gonna do a quick recap of week one, my play. For the third straight year, I'm starting 0-1. I had Cowboys minus three. Horrible pick. Giants, I think, are they're a well-oiled machine. Jackson Dart, Isaiah Likely, Scataboo is deadly on the ground. They're a good football team. They're very talented. And the front seven for that Giants defense is uh proved to be ferocious. So was definitely on the wrong side and hopefully bounce back uh heading into week two. Pittsburgh Billys plays in week one. He had Cardinals plus ten, Vikings minus one, Carolina plus three, and a teaser with the Steelers and Broncos uh to round him out at two and two for the week.
SPEAKER_01Uh any thoughts on kind of mad that I gave the Broncos instead of the under in that game, but that's what I did. So uh I'll live with it. Two and two. Um we'll try to we'll try to do better this week.
SPEAKER_02Okay. We're gonna go over Thursday night football for a change. We're gonna talk the Lions at Bills. Bills minus four and a half total is 54 and a half. Uh should be an exciting game, high scoring, and uh should have a lot of fantasy impact in this one. Uh, Professor, want to take that one away?
SPEAKER_00Sure. Um the key thing I think for Detroit here is they're gonna be down three of their playing starting linemen. Uh rookie Blake Miller is out at the right tackle. Uh the left guard uh is also out in the preseason in Mays, their center went out. Uh I think that's going to uh definitely impact them here. Um it wouldn't shock me if the Bills did dominate this game a little bit. Uh but for fantasy, Detroit has a very concentrated offense. Only four guys got more than one target there. Includes Laporta, their top two receivers, St. Brown, J-Mo, and Gibbs. Um, there's no number two running back here, but once a clear one emerges, that would be a hot pickup in fantasy.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, um I'll tell you, I used to really not like Thursday night football, but after watching that horseshit Australia game, I'm a changed man. I mean, I actually love Thursday night football now because that was torturous watching that Australia game. So uh I'm I'm I'm an I'm a different guy, different opinion of Thursday night football now. Um, this is actually a really good one, too, the handicap and bet and talk about um Lions, like Professor said. They lost Mays, the center in preseason. Mahogany got hurt at the beginning of the game. Blake Miller, the first round pick, actually had a great game. And uh I guess he got hurt at the end of the game because he's not playing either. And uh their offensive line already stinks, and they're down two guys from last week that started. Um, Buffalo's defense played terrible last uh last week, and they may not be any good either, but Buffalo's offense, I think they showed that it's it's definitely, you know, the top three, maybe the best in the league. And uh I just don't think Detroit's gonna be able to keep up with them, especially with the offensive line. Detroit's secondary might be the worst in the NFL, too. I mean, it is atrocious. Josh Allen is gonna just dominate this game. They're playing in their new stadium on the opening night. Um big home field advantage here. Quick turnaround for the Lions, too. They just played five quarters against the Saints. Now they got to go on a short week to a rowdy stadium against the best player in the league. Um I laid four with the Bills. I'm recommending it at four and a half. Um, I think you're getting big value. I made the game six. Um, and I like Buffalo in this game to uh to cover. I mean, obviously you're in jeopardy of getting backdoored, but uh I'm gonna take that chance here because I just think Buffalo's gonna lay it on them here. Terrible spot for Detroit, great spot for the Bills. Bills much better team. And uh that's a first play Buffalo minus four and a half, and Thursday night football, baby.
SPEAKER_02All right. Next we head into the Sunday card, 1 p.m. Packers at Jets. Packers are three and a half point favorites. Total is 44.5. Last week the Packers pretty much had the game one um late in the fourth quarter. They were up seven, I believe, fourth and one, and they went for it and didn't get it, and that kind of changed the game. Uh, Jets, too, coming off a nice week one win against the lifeless Titans. Uh Geno Smith looked sharp, but hard to get a read on a team playing the uh playing the Titans.
SPEAKER_00So a guy that wasn't picked too high in fantasy, Matthew Golden, first round pick last year, had excellent peripherals on uh his routes run, uh targets per round and he didn't score a touchdown, so he's a little under the radar, but he could really have a huge year for them. Uh Matthew Golden, I like if you can kind of sneak him off someone that doesn't realize how good his underlying stats were for fantasy in week one.
SPEAKER_01Uh hell of a game, uh, Packers and Vikings last week. Um, geez, I thought we were dead in the water, but um listen, uh Green Bay's offensive line is not good, and it showed at the end of the game. Um you could you could see Jordan Love. Um I mean he had happy feet. He was afraid to get hit at the end of the game, and he was not the same player in the fourth quarter that he was for the first three. Listen, his team makes big plays. Kind of knew that going into the season. Uh they got good receivers, he's got a good strong arm and heaves it up and he makes plays, but that offensive line, he doesn't want to get hit. And if the offensive line doesn't give him protection, uh then um I don't I don't think he's gonna have a lot of success. Uh the Jets um it's tough to gauge them off that win last week. Uh Tennessee's is just a terrible football team. Um big injury for the Jets against this lethal Packer passing game is uh uh Minka is probably not gonna play. Minka Fitzpatrick. Um I I think it's a big player for this game. Um but but I think the Jets can hang with them. The line's kind of getting it bet down. It's it's like a juiced three now, which I think is kind of low. I may I made the Packers three and a half and 43 on the total. And uh at this time I don't um I don't have an opinion on the game, but uh this is actually one of the uh games I'm most interested in watching this week, to be honest.
SPEAKER_02All right, next we have a divisional matchup, Vikings at Bears. Bears are five and a half point favorites. Total is 48.5. Uh that was one of the most impressive offensive performances from the Bears last week. And the best part is their best offensive playmaker, Colston Loveland, uh, didn't have a catch and they scored 59 points. Professor, any uh any takeaway here?
SPEAKER_00Uh Colston Loveland, the most obvious by low in fantasy after week one. He ran a route on 90% of the dropbacks. And um the uh K Williams missed them wide open once. He missed them on another end zone crossing pattern. Loveland, I think, is a great upside play in fantasy. Uh I would not overreact to the zero week one. Uh deep benchdash for Minnesota's Desmond Claiborne, sixth-round rookie running back. Jordan Mason placed an IR today for Minnesota. Aaron Jones, one of the most brittle running backs. He's 32, 33 years old. And they're on the other back is DJ, DJ Dallas, who's not much of a feature back. So could see some carries from Desmond Claiborne against a horrible Bears defense. And he could emerge and be the main guy in Minnesota later this year.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, Professor uh transferring his uh buying low in real estate over to fantasy. Uh good job, buddy. Um, yeah, this game, uh, another one I can't wait to watch. Um might be a little bit of value with the Vikings. I'm pretty not for sure, but it looks like Carson Wentz is gonna get the nod. Um boy Kyler Murray uh looked terrible for the short time he was in. Um I hope that's not the way he's gonna play all season. If it is, it might be in trouble. But I think Wentz is fine with this offense. All you all you have to do is be a game manager with a good arm. I mean, you got weapons left and right around you. And uh you know, the the Vikings are going up against the worst defense in the league. The Bear the Bears defense is just, I mean, pitiful. It was you knew it before the season, and boy, they reiterated it last week at Carolina. It's just terrible. And um, I I think the Vikings can score on them as easily as Chicago's gonna score. So um I I there's probably value with the Vikings. Uh I'm not gonna do anything at this time. I you know, it it is tough to you know to play into the teeth of that bear offense at Chicago. Um, so I'm gonna at the at this time I'm not gonna do anything.
SPEAKER_02Okay, next we have Steelers at Patriots. Patriots are five and a half point favorites. Total is 41 and a half. Patriots coming off of 10 days rest. Definitely seems like a good spot for them, a get right game. Or Professor said how the Steelers threw, uh, I believe more than any other team in the NFL. Aaron Rodgers had 40, 40 passing attempts. Uh, is that right, Professor?
SPEAKER_00Any other team, they pass their pass rate over expectation PROE, meaning in uh in situations they threw the ball more than they were expected, and they actually had a top 10 pace. Uh but yeah, the uh pass rate over expectation really was alarming for Pittsburgh compared to last year. And so um it's just with McCarthy and Rogers, they're throwing the ball more, running it less. And I think that's translated to Pat Fryermoof, who played uh a very high snap share and was a lot of targets, and Rogers talked him up. Uh, I think Fryer Mouff is gonna be an underrated uh target for Rodgers this year. But the Steelers are up in place uh drastically compared to last year, but the highest pass rate over expectation by 5% more than any other team in week one.
SPEAKER_01Interesting. Uh you know, I was all gung-out a bet against the Steelers this week, but um, I don't know, the Patriots might might have issues of their own. Um, you know, no Brown, a wide receiver. Um, they traded Booty. Now they don't have him. I mean, Romeo Dobbs looked like ass last week. I mean, who's he gonna throw the ball to? And um, I think Henderson's coming back, the running back, Pittsburgh. I mean, they bottled up the run pretty good with uh you know Bijan Robinson, one of the best in the league. Pittsburgh did a pretty good job. Uh most teams uh don't contain them like the Steelers did, um, although Atlanta didn't have a passing game. But um Yeah, I like I said, I kind of was all ready to jump in with the Patriots, and now uh I'm not so sure about it. Um I did make the game a bit higher. Uh sharp money came in on Pittsburgh. Um I don't know. Patriots are 10 11 days off. Um a lot of time to prepare for Vrabel. And uh I think Drake May will probably play better, but I I don't know who he's gonna throw to. It's probably sets up as a low-scoring game, but they cheated the total down to 41 and a half, so I don't know enough room for me there. Um yeah, I'm just gonna punt on this one for now.
SPEAKER_02Okay, next we have another divisional matchup here. Panthers at Falcons. Panthers are two and a half point favorites total is 43 and a half. Uh Cooper Rush, it looks like as of now, might get the start again in week two. Tua didn't practice today.
SPEAKER_01Did I have a name anybody for sure?
SPEAKER_02Tua didn't practice today. Penix is definitely out, correct?
SPEAKER_01Oh no, Penix is the two is definitely out. Penix has an outside chance of playing, or else it's gonna be Cooper Rush.
SPEAKER_02Gotcha. Well, if Cooper Rush is under center, I definitely lean Panthers here. Um, it's very hard for that guy to complete a pass downfield. They do have Bijan Robinson, who's obviously a game, complete game changer. Uh seems like would you call Bijan QB proof, uh, Professor? Doesn't really matter what the offensive situation is.
SPEAKER_00Yes. Uh how they used them. They used him on a lot of quick passes, quick screens, like bubble screen type plays. Uh for PPR leagues, he got a high boost on that. Uh so they basically took advantage of their lack of pass protection and in getting the ball out of Cooper Rush's hands quickly to Bijan. I would expect they're going to do that again, but Carolina is probably going to expect that as well.
SPEAKER_01Sharp money came in on the over here. Uh I don't know. I mean, Cooper Rush is playing it. It might be tough to get this one over, but Carolina, their offense looked pretty good and their defense just looked really bad. So I'll I'll have more on this one Sunday when uh we know exactly who's going to quarterback for the Falcons.
SPEAKER_02Okay, next. Browns at Bucks. Bucks are eight and a half point favorites. Total is 41 and a half. Very sloppy game. Four fumbles from the Bucks in week one against the Bengals. Browns absolutely got dismantled by the Jags. Uh, you know, they looked they were driving the ball in the first drive of the game, and then Deshaun Watson throws a pick directly to the linebacker, just completely telegraphed the pass, and then after that it was all downhill, and uh Jags took care of business. But uh, yeah, if the Sean Watson's starting in week two, I don't really know how you can how you can be confident in this Browns team. Um, Professor, any thoughts on uh on this matchup?
SPEAKER_00It's uh Watson, he really fairly handled pressure. It looked like they really focused on Casey Conception as the key to their offense. A tough injury. Dylan Sampson went down early in the game. He's their change of pace and third down back. Uh they had Raheem Sanders filling in for him, and he's more of a first, second down grinder. So they tried Jug Kitts playing three downs, and he's not a great pass protector. So I think that added to Cleveland's struggles facing pressure. Um, I think Cleveland's up against the score here as well. Um so uh Bucky German looked great for Tampa. Uh he's fully healthy coming off last year. He uh surpassed expectations in week one after Tampa.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, surprisingly sharp money on the Browns here. Uh I don't know how, but there is. And uh I wouldn't want to lay a big number with Tampa. I mean, when a team gets beat down like the Browns did, I mean, you think they're gonna come back with some kind of an effort. I mean, that defense is I just could not believe how bad their defense was. Their offense was bad enough, and then the defense was just I mean, they made Jacksonville look like the 85 Bears. I mean, they they really did. It was it was one of the worst efforts uh in in a in a in a game by both sides of the ball that I've ever seen from the Browns on Sunday. But uh but I but that's with all that negativity said about the Browns, I mean I certainly wouldn't lay the number with Tampa here. I promise you that. Um I mean I made this one up between eight and eight and a half, about eight point three, and uh uh right now um might have something Sunday, but we'll see. I want to read more about the game.
SPEAKER_02Okay, next game, Bengals at Texans, Texans two and a half point favorites, totals 46 and a half, heartbreaker for the Texans in week one against the Bills. CJ Stroud, though, he looked pretty good. Um coming off last season, that debacle in the playoffs against the Patriots. Week one, he responded pretty well. They moved the ball good. Um Nico Collins played great. Uh the defense definitely got torched, but it it's hard to really, you know. I think Josh Allen is pretty much gonna do that against any team in the NFL. So uh, but I expect uh I expect a bounce back against the Bengals here, especially since Burrow um mispractice today or or had his back uh he's happy. I mean he's playing back stiffness or might not practice.
SPEAKER_01Uh he's gonna practice real light, but he he'll be in there someday.
SPEAKER_02So um yeah, any thoughts here, Professor?
SPEAKER_00One quick note here. I know Houston was probably one of the top two or three defenses taken in fancy to start. Um I would bench them here. There's a lot of good streamers. You can get like Tampa at home against Cleveland or Stanford at home against Miami. I'm not saying cut Houston, but you can pivot away from them for better matchups and playing against worse QBs.
SPEAKER_01Uh I kind of disagree with that. I think the heat that the defense is gonna really step up here and play well. Um, I know Cincinnati's got got the high powered passing game, but um I don't know, they're capable of throwing pick sixes like they did last week, too. So um and I'm not sold on the Bengal offensive line. I think Houston is gonna uh exploit it big time on defense. And Houston's offense looked really good last week. Um I made this almost three and a half, three point four, and uh I'm laying two and a half. I think it's a juice two and a half now with Houston, so I think you can get like minus fifteen or minus eighteen something. If you look at look to these uh poly markets, Novig and Calci, I think Novig is the best. They have really good prices. Um you're basically almost laying no juice, uh, make especially NFL where they have all that volume. And they're not paying me to say this either. I mean, I have an account there, it's great. So uh I I would recommend anybody to sign up there uh and and play. It's uh y you'll thank me later. You'll save a lot of money on juice. But anyhow, this game I'm I'm I'm laying the two and a half with the Texans. I I look for a big bounce back. I think I was kind of a fountain win by the Bengals in week one. I I mean the Bengals are good. I'm not mocking them, but I think I think Houston uh great will give a great effort on both sides of the ball, and uh and I think the Texan defense is a good matchup against the Bengal offensive line. Uh yeah, I like Houston here.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Next we have Saints at Ravens. Ravens, eight and a half point favorites. Total is 46 and a half. Incredibly impressive performance from the Ravens in week one. Both sides of the ball look great. I mean, Declan Doyle looks like he put on looks like he put on an absolute clinic in week one. Jesse Minter, uh very good debut. Professor, what are your uh fantasy thoughts here?
SPEAKER_00Generally, teams that face the Saints, the Saints themselves are gonna have a lot of fantasy goodness. The Saints are the fastest-paced team in the NFL. They were last year under Kellen Ward, they continued that this year. They had the third highest pass rate over expectation uh in week one, uh 73% pass rate too. Uh Tyler Shuck with 56 pass attempts and 400 yards. They went off to a slow start. They got shut out in the first half and scored four touchdowns in the second half here. Um so I think like a lot of teams, they start slow first half. So I'm discounting that to a point, but I think they're gonna be able to move the ball in Baltimore. Uh, they're definitely gonna play fast. There's gonna be a lot of plays there. Um they have enough weapons on offense. Uh on the Baltimore side, you already said a lot about Declan Doyle. Um, I think he's gonna be a head coach at 31 years old next year, the way he's tracking right now. Zay Flowers hamstring injury could be a factor, but Baltimore has a lot of weapons. They were in a lot of motion, a lot of play action. Um the offensive environment they have this year is great. So even without Zay Flowers, Lamar looks very healthy. I think they're gonna go up and down the field on the Saints. Um, and I Baltimore kind of took their foot off the gas at the end of last week as they're up a lot. Uh, this is my one play the whole week. I have over 46 and a half on Baltimore, New Orleans. I'm gonna be shocked if Baltimore doesn't get to at least 27 points in this game. And the way the Saints are going up and down the field and pace, uh, they're either gonna score, give up some scores, and a very aggressive team. And I like Ubers on teams that want to throw a lot and be aggressive. So my play of the week, Uber 46 and a half Saints and Ravens.
SPEAKER_01You you make some good points there, Professor. Um I don't know though, without Zay Flowers, I mean, um, you know, they they just pay they just emptied the bank the bank account on. him he's one of the best player but I mean all of a sudden he's one of the best receivers in the league and they they don't have depth at all wide receiver I I'm a little concerned about who he's gonna throw the ball to um and for that reason I mean I agree um about everything you said about the Saints I I think like they pass on every down so there's like there's almost value like what is it like eight and a half or eight and a half nine and a half nine what is it plus nine I think I'm not gonna play it uh right now I might I wanna I wanna see the final I want to make sure Zay Flowers isn't playing but um I definitely lean uh Saints here you know I mean you have a great shot of the back door in this one and um yeah I th I think Kellen Moore is a good coach and very good play caller like Professor uh said and uh I yeah I think uh I think there's value with the dog but uh not nothing right now.
SPEAKER_00Okay rounding out one o'clock we have Eagles at Titans Eagles are seven point favorites total is 39 and a half uh really hard to watch Titan football last week Professor for the uh for the Eagles Mikhail didn't really show much is there any uh any worry in his fantasy value or we shouldn't be touching a starting lineup in the first six to eight weeks of the season but he's an excellent stash as a first round pick who's electric with the ball in his hands um they tried some design plays to get the ball to him the Eagles shouldn't even have to pass very much in this game they should pretty much dominate the game so I I'd look for the uh Sean Manion to take the foot off the gas from the passing in the second half here. I do like Mikai Lennon late in the year so if someone drops him scoop him up but don't plan to play him anytime soon.
SPEAKER_01Yeah the the Titans are really up against it here. They just look so lifeless like Zach said. They they're uh there's not a chance I would ever have them in this game. So uh do you really want to lay seven on the road? I made it seven and a half uh I mean I'm I don't think I'm gonna lay seven on the road in this spot either but uh maybe have more on this one on Sunday but I would I just could never have Tennessee them and Miami look like the clear two worst teams in the league. Yeah I agree I think Miami though will be like that all season whereas maybe Tennessee will play better as the year goes on.
SPEAKER_02But I don't think this week is is going to be the beginning of that heading into the four o'clock window we have divisional matchup Raiders at Chargers Chargers minus six and a half total is 43 and a half uh really tough and surprising uh opener for the Chargers last week yeah uh expecting a bounce back this week uh we'll see the Raiders look good in week one against uh Miami so I mean it is Miami but uh Professor what uh what are your thoughts here I would never put too much talk into week one with a lack of preseason again.
SPEAKER_00Uh last year didn't the Raiders beat the Patriots in week one and the Patriots made the Super Bowl I believe. Correct um and so but yeah I I'd expect a bounce back from the Chargers. Vlad McConfi's peripherals were through the roof while he was healthy in the game I'm betting he doesn't play here with the rib injury and Brock Bowers iffy to play as well um on here but um yeah I would bet bet on a bounce back from the Chargers here that uh the Raiders are gonna be a competitive team uh they should have a solid run game all year um yeah Brock Bowers and McConkey are both really I mean huge underdogs to play they're probably both going to miss this week I mean I it it is a great spot for the chargers to bounce back but are they capable of it?
SPEAKER_01I mean the interior offensive line is just insanely bad I mean vulnerable and I mean Herbert had no chance in the second half of that game. They were just in on him like gangbusters um I guess the center uh you know Blades getting hurt was was a huge injury uh much bigger than I thought um but I I think the Chargers are duck soup. They're not making the playoffs they might win this game I wouldn't be shocked if they lost but it is it is a really good spot for them to come bounce back. I mean listen this is they had an e they supposedly were supposed to have an easy game last week this is their second easiest game of the year this week if they lose this so uh yeah I don't have uh at this time um I don't have a bet on this but uh I would be real hesitant to do anything with the Chargers they're uh I mean they're they look like there might be in a tailspin here. I don't think that's an overreaction either like Professor said too the Raiders look like they're able to run the ball cousins is a veteran I mean he's not the he's not nothing great but he's a veteran good play action passer.
SPEAKER_00Yeah they're they're they're not gonna be a pushover this year it doesn't look like next we have Jaguars at Broncos Broncos two and a half point favorites total is 45 and a half uh the receiver situation Professor should we expect Parker Washington to uh be the clear number one here with him Jacoby Myers and Brian Thomas yeah he's a strong favorite to get the most targets and most production from the receiver core there but the drum beat all offseason has been to that effect and uh the jabs are attempting to sign him to an extension before his price goes up so definitely agree with that Zach. No I don't think the cheap asses are going to pay him they uh they they should have paid him for sure he's great he's gonna get big money from somebody uh he's a he's a phenomenal player he's definitely their best receiver but one comment on this game is uh I think this was the worst hyped offensive coordinator play caller deb you have ever seen by Davis Webb um hyped coming to the season uh former NFL quarterback 37 year old Davis Webb Sean Payton first time his career hands over play calling duties absolute atrocious I would not be shocked if Payton takes back play calling duties in week two or week three yeah um yeah I'm not gonna you can't lay that all on him though the whole team just looked terrible um especially Bo Knicks he was awful so uh I mean I'm not putting that whole thing on Davis Webb listen you at some point you got to start you got to execute the plays maybe the play calling wasn't good but I mean some of the plays should have been executed Waddle dropping that pass I mean that was a huge play in the game that turned the whole game around him dropping third down I believe yep I mean they they they broke the bank paying him he comes over as one target and drops it a key target too so I mean the whole team was just flat um Jacksonville listen and Denver obviously is not nearly as the bad team they portrayed themselves to be on Monday night. Just like Jacksonville isn't the Super Bowl team they looked like against Cleveland last week and uh and I for that reason I think we're getting line value here and um I I think Denver's gonna bounce back and I think they're gonna beat them and two and a half is a cheap number and uh maybe I'll look like an idiot when the game's over but I'm uh I bet Denver minus two and a half all right I like that take there uh next we have commanders at Cowboys Cowboys are four and a half point favorites total is 15 and a half uh I was pretty high on a bounce back from Jane Daniels uh on Sunday's podcast uh he looked decent uh that final drive he looked good he had another drive early in the game uh it was like a 16 or 17 play drive uh where they scored but other than that I really wasn't too impressed with how he played tough environment in Philly but um yeah this is another tough game for him in um in Dallas but uh what are your thoughts on Jaden Daniels Professor from a fantasy perspective if they start doing design runs for him he's gonna be a top five quarterback this year when you had their rushing production there uh they actually played faster than we thought uh cliff kingsbury plays uh incredibly faster last year's OC and they switched to David Blah this year and it it was faster than I expected they were talking a lot under the hot under behind the center uh snaps and less shot time but that didn't come to first from here either so um Jaden Daniels I think I he has a lot of potential but can he also stay healthy if he's running a lot but if he runs a lot he'll be very uh very productive in fantasy totally agree with that he uh he actually looked pretty good I thought in the uh Philly game um this one here um you know Dallas kind of laid an egg on Sunday night and uh this is a bit this is uh one of the biggest rivalries in the NFL Washington Dallas um I think the line you know I made it 3.7 it's three and a half um I mean it wouldn't shock me if Washington won or Dallas won by margin so I you know this is one of those games where I'll just uh 2-0 and one teams fighting for their season um I hope Dallas comes out on top I got futures on them but you know I'm not so sure about it I mean I I think they should but I wouldn't bet on it so I'm uh okay next divisional matchup Seahawks at Cardinals Seahawks are three and a half with some fours out there I believe uh favorites in this one total is 41 Cardinals last week big upset win in LA I feel like a lot of people wrote them off coming into this year um sure fire last place team in the NFC West uh weak defense but man the defense played good and that offense is loaded with weapons McBride Harrison Wilson uh Jeremiah Love who eventually is going to start picking up more carries uh as the season goes on I think I mean they're definitely they're gonna put up points consistently I think week in and week out and um yeah I like the Cardinals uh I like the Cardinals team and I I lean towards them here in this matchup against uh Seattle with Drew Luck.
SPEAKER_02Uh Professor what do you think about this uh matchup and any fantasy insight?
SPEAKER_00Seattle's defense is tough uh so I don't think Arizona's gonna have that same success. Um yeah they they definitely uh outperformed expectations last week but uh you really want to be hesitant starting guys against Seattle because Seattle's gonna I would expect a fairly run heavy with crew walk under center they're gonna slow the game down with a good defense that's why we have a lower total and they're you know uh decent small favor and a low total so I would try to avoid Arizona Cardinals outside of McBride this week um I I'll tell you what I'll I'll give you a good fantasy Arizona's defense would be a great defensive fantasy this week I I think Drew Locke is going to get stonewalled this week I'm I do I think he came in and the team rallied around him but when he's back up first of all Drew Locke is at at his ceiling as an average NFL quarterback okay so um and Arizona's defense the front seven uh was supposed to be good last year and this year they were rated pretty high going into the season as well and they they looked really tough and they had two or three secondary guys I mean I think two three of their top six secondary guys were out last week and uh hoping to get a couple of those guys back which I think we will um they they are they all practiced they're not for sure gonna play but um yeah I'm I'm on Arizona I took four um I don't I don't know I think they could win the game that I made the game uh 2.9 and I think Seattle's offense is really going to struggle in this game with Drew Locke and um I know I agree with Professor Seattle's defense is good but Arizona's throwing the ball really well they're their their receivers are phenomenal they're getting he's they're giving uh brassette time to throw and uh like like you said Zach Love and uh you know love is a real looks like he's gonna be a really good back I mean Arizona's that was not a fluke last week there were some flukes last week this was not one of them Arizona's gonna give people fits this year and I think this spot is one of them give me Arizona plus still four out there right I know there's something a half professor you see anything yeah there's fours out there there's fours I said that yeah there's there's definitely fours yeah if you take four that's a really good number I think take value two weeks in two bets for the Cardinals for Pittsburgh Billy all right round out the Cardinals of last year I can tell you that rounding out four o'clock we have dolphins at 49ers 49ers are 13 and a half point favorites totals 45 and a half the 49ers will probably I would say most likely be the most pick survivor team in this one um moving forward it's gonna be a lot of uh picking against the dolphins and this certainly is a good spot here uh however I will ask this do you think the Niners will be affected from the travel back from Australia?
SPEAKER_02I have heard other people talking about how uh on the way back uh it's a lot tougher especially since the Niners got to Australia you know a week or so earlier.
SPEAKER_00I I mean I think it's such a mismatch right here. I don't think it's gonna affect them nearly as much when they're completely outmanning Miami here. I think their team totals 30 points the Niners they can go up in the fourth quarter and still win the game and sleep through the first three quarters here in my opinion so um Miami's absolutely the worst team in the league. So one quick uh fantasy note for Ben Stash about the start of this week uh Halo Douglas third round receiver for Miami great preseason great training camp and hyped up he's now their number one target in the pass game um and he's a he's a big rookie 6'4 outside X type receiver uh he could really uh enter the radar and he can come on later in the year for a cheap free pickup for most teams he's unlikely rarely drafted he's gonna be the number one receiver I think by the end of the year Caleb Douglas he already is the number one receiver right now by default yeah Australia I mean they've been home for 11 days from Australia I mean I mean guys that are in prison or at war camps come back and they're fine in 10 days I mean they've been home for 11 days how are they not going to be fine I don't I don't understand it was the only you are saying that yeah it was the only thing I I could think of that could maybe you know bender deniers in that game I mean I I don't get I don't get it if they're if they're not fine then uh whatever but I I don't think Miami is gonna compete in this game. I'm not gonna lay the points because God forbid if they are tired you know who knows so uh I'm not gonna lay the points uh more on this one Sunday and uh not much to really talk about here Miami's by far uh uh in fact I just uh I just bet their season wins under this morning all right next Sunday night football we have Colts at Chiefs Chiefs six and a half point favorites total is 46 and a half the Chiefs did just beat the Broncos at home made a statement uh 21 point uh victory however I think six and a half is a little bit of a little bit of a hefty spread here for them the Colts the past three or four times they've played the Chiefs um they've played them tough it's been close games two of them in particular they should have won so um I think this is another game the Colts or the Colts bounce back here after the Ravens loss uh prime time I think they play the Chiefs tough here um Professor what are your thoughts two quick finish nuggets on the Chiefs here one Rasheed Rice is a sell uh the Chiefs are going to be very run heavy is evident uh good defense they really want to run the ball they paid Kenneth Walker a ton they're basing their offense around him um still Rasheed Rice who is a late second to third round pick the most fantasy drafts this year before his value pummets hopefully got a touchdown in week one and two targets the other key guy to get Emmett Johnson back up to Kenneth Walker Kenneth Walker misses games every year if he's out Emmett Johnson immediately becomes a top 12 to 15 running back to start he's a great bench dash for Kansas City um yeah Kenneth Walker's a thoroughbred they got a good player there what a what a great acquisition Kansas City made there um I'll tell you I was impressed with Kansas City's defense really impressed it seems like uh it seems like they didn't miss a beat replacing those players uh the DC on that team is Bagnola legend and you know you got Andy Reid and Bianymes back I mean listen that's why the team's good a perennial winner since Mahomes has been there even before that but um yeah I think I think Indy's gonna be a public dog this week because of all the trends yeah I don't know I uh I I'll be honest I'm uh I have a lot of uh reading up on this one to do I um I'm kind of having a hard time uh making a number on it so uh I'll have more on it Sunday.
SPEAKER_02Okay rounding out week two Monday night football Giants at Rams Rams are seven and a half point favorites total is 48 and a half Rams uh the other team coming back from Australia I uh I expect a bounce back in this game um seven and a half point favorites giants uh with that offense and how they move the ball it's it's definitely uh it feels enticing to take seven and a half points but this Rams team is still one of the most talented teams in football and I could definitely see a uh I could see a routing of the Giants here from the Rams.
SPEAKER_00Professor thoughts yeah uh neighbors Luke Neighbors the uh top receiver on the Giants looked great he was a game time called decided in warm-ups to play he took hits he moved around he's an elite young receiver I think he with him there he had the new dimension of the Giants offense and they had a great signing bringing in likely for a second pass game weapon um so on the Giants this year I like their defensive line a lot um I think you have Dole Carter can make another elite this year on the defensive line so I do like the Giants but yeah the Rams at home coming off a uh embarrassing loss with their firepower it's tough to uh yeah it's tough to go against them there but so that's my thoughts uh I think the line you know around six and a half seven you're saying there's seven and a half so out there no I don't think so there's seven so seven there's no seven okay I thought I saw a couple seven and a half yeah seven seven and a half I would lean the giants but uh I think the line's about right if anything maybe a little high I think like six six and a half looking at the game Fandle a seven and a half bet 365 a seven and a half uh yeah but you're juiced on that it's it's heavy juice if you take the seven and a half but anyhow um it listen it it it's hard not to be bullish on the G Man after what we saw Sunday night.
SPEAKER_01I mean that was a hell of a performance they the whole thing I set up before the season if they can fade injuries um they may have something in uh in giant land I mean scataboo dart neighbors three three really good players and uh you know Harbaugh has injected life into that team it's it's uh hard not to like 'em um Rams on the other hand um I don't know they're you know they're still gonna be a really good team I I would totally discount that Australia bullshit and uh um this one though I mean I made it right at seven I think the Giants could give them a game or um or maybe they have a letdown after that big uh you know that prime time big win against Dallas they might they might have a letdown this week so uh yeah I'd probably it's probably a pass for me. But but I I let if the Giants actually won this game I would not be shocked.
SPEAKER_02Alright that does it for week two. We can do a quick uh recap of Pittsburgh Billy and Professor's play. Professor you had a total I believe yeah Raven Saints over 46 and a half.
SPEAKER_01I got the Texans minus two and a half Broncos minus two and a half Buffalo Thursday night minus four and a half and the Arizona Cardinals plus four late window.
SPEAKER_02Yep and we'll do a uh we'll do another uh podcast either Saturday night or Sunday morning uh with it'll be up before 830 a.m on Sunday potentially we'll have more plays uh and we'll get more information then so um we'll we'll we'll be on Twitter and we'll let you know uh when everything's yeah hope you like the last one there there'll be more of those to come.
SPEAKER_01So but uh all right good show and uh good luck to the professor
