Darren Story, Co-Founder and CFO at Coastal Sun Farms
Darren got his start in cannabis at a very early age growing up in Santa Cruz County where many of his neighborhood friends were cultivators way before even prop 215 had passed. Although he was surrounded by agriculture all his life, this interest did not develop until his friend Kip Anderson convinced him to commit to a plant based lifestyle. As he transitioned into this world, he became more intrigued by where food comes from and how it is grown. This led him to learn about regenerative agriculture in 2014 as the movement was just getting started. Darren became passionate about growing crops to scale in a manner which benefits the health of consumers, the planet, and the farmworkers who grow them. Darren co-founded Strong Agronomy with like minded partners with an emphasis on developing regenerative systems which empower others to create health and abundance. The company is self-funded, the leading organic cannabis brand in the US, has no debt and is profitable.
