Welcome to In His Circle Seedlings, where we take a few minutes to plant one small seed of faith that just might grow into something beautiful. I'm Tiffany Windsor and I'm so glad you're here. Sometimes God brings us back to our knees. I have to tell you what happened last night. Now, before I start, let me just say that getting older is a very humbling experience. One day you're hopping over flower beds without thinking twice. The next day your knee decides it has opinions. Mine has this funny little habit of getting out of alignment every once in a while. When it happens, it doesn't hurt, it just locks. And once it's locked, uh it isn't graceful. So I did what I always do. Hopped to the edge of the bed. I rubbed up and down on the outside of my leg exactly the way my chiropractor taught me, and nothing. I tried again. Nothing. I attempted to stretch it a little, still nothing. Now I'm talking to my knee. Come on now, we've got things to do tomorrow. You know you've reached a certain age when you're negotiating with body parts. Finally I stopped and then I remembered. Oh, the thing that usually works is getting down on my knees. Now if you've ever tried getting down on your knees with one knee that doesn't want to cooperate, you know that's a little adventure all by itself. But I eased myself down, knelt there for just a minute, shifted my weight a little, and pop, everything slipped right back into place. Instant relief, I stood up and I took a few steps, stretched my leg, perfect. Then I just stood there because I suddenly realized what had just happened. The thing that brought relief was getting down on my knees, and I thought, Lord, well played. Now let me be clear, I don't think God made my knee lock up just so he could make a sermon illustration. Bodies wear out, some of us are getting older, things happen, but God has this wonderful habit of taking ordinary moments and whispering something extraordinary through them. Standing there I couldn't stop thinking. How many times do I do the exact same thing spiritually? When something feels out of place, I start trying to fix it. I research, I make a list, I read another book, I listen to another podcast, I replay conversations in my head. Standing there I couldn't stop thinking. I replay conversations in my head. I try to think my way out of the problem. Anybody else? Or is it just me? Sometimes those steps are wise. God certainly gives us chiropractors and counselors and good books and wise friends. But somewhere along the way we forget the simplest thing. Talk to God first, not last first. This morning after my little knee adventure, I opened up my Bible, and I had one of those moments that only God could arrange. The first verse that jumped off the page was Colossians four two. Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. Not pray after you've tried everything else, not pray if Google can't figure it out. No, devote yourselves to prayer. I sat there thinking, Lord, how often do I treat prayer like the emergency exit instead of the front door? Prayer was never meant to be my last resort. It's supposed to be my first conversation. Then I opened one of the devotional emails I subscribed to, and there it was, Isaiah forty thirty one. Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles. That verse has deeply been part of my life for the last year. There was a season when every time I read it, my mind immediately went to one particular business dream. It was impossible not to. But yesterday something different happened. I was peaceful. Not because I thought about a business. I smiled because I thought about God. And that felt like such a sweet gift. It was almost as though God was saying, Tiffany, this verse belonged to me long before it belonged to one of your dreams. His promises are always bigger than our plans. Then Psalm one reminded me The Lord watches over the way of the righteous. I love that. Not just the destination, the way. The ordinary Tuesday, the grocery store, the Bible study, the flower garden. And yes, even the locked knee. God watches over all of it. Lately I've realized something else. Following Jesus isn't usually made up of dramatic mountaintop moments. It's made up of ordinary Tuesdays. Opening our Bible, sending the text, praying for a friend, helping someone who needs encouragement, and getting down on our knees, literally or spiritually. Those are the moments where faith quietly grows. Maybe that's why I love these little seedlings podcasts so much. They're really just conversations about noticing God, noticing him in places we almost missed him. Because once you start looking, you begin to realize he's been there all along. You know I love to encourage you, so before you try one more thing, spend a little time on your knees. Not because prayer is all that's left, but because prayer is always where peace begins. Here's a circle sister prayer for you today. Heavenly Father, thank you for meeting us in ordinary moments. Thank you for reminding us where real strength is found. Teach us to come to you first instead of last. Help us become women whose first response is prayer, whose hearts naturally turn toward you before we turn anywhere else. Thank you for watching over our everyday lives. The quiet Tuesdays, the little victories, the unexpected interruptions, and even the inconveniences that become holy reminders of your presence. And may we never forget that some of life's sweetest conversations with you begin when we're brought to our knees. In Jesus' name, Amen.
