There will be two episodes coming out a month. 24 in total!

Season 2 is filled with some pretty rad guests. We're talking women's health medical experts, hysterectomy & endometriosis advocates, fellow women's health podcasters and authors as well as representatives from women's health community organizations.

Season 2 is also featuring cohosts! These are listeners from the Not So Private Parts community, that will be joining the conversation about topics important to them!

If Season 1 was a caterpillar, then Season 2 feels like a butterfly!

Hey, it's your pal Val, the girl from the girl and her gyno mom duo.  I am beyond excited to announce that season two of Not So Private Parts is nearly here.

The second season officially launches on October 3rd, which happens to be my half birthday, so it feels all the more special.  Before we even began the first season of Not So Private Parts podcast, I felt excited at the prospect of doing a deep dive into all sorts of topics surrounding women's health. And with my fabulous mom of all people,

Reflecting across the first season, I feel extremely proud.  Having the opportunity to hold open conversations with my mom and a few medical experts around a variety of topics such as painful periods, heavy menstrual flow, discharge, menopause, and more, has not only increased my knowledge on these topics, it has allowed me to connect with women around me of all ages and understand a bit more about the experiences they may be going through.

It has enabled me to be more equipped to answer questions from friends who have things pop up in their bodies.  It's led me to discover some pretty amazing community organizations across the world that are making a difference for women in their community.  It has allowed me to better connect and become more in tune with my body, therefore noticing its small changes and nuances.

All this to say, Learning about all that a female body is capable of, understanding some of the different transitional processes we'll move through throughout life, has empowered me in ways I wasn't expecting.

I know it's different for everyone. Some would rather go to the doctor and have them sort through what's going on without wanting to know or talk about the details, or some are fine letting certain bodily processes be a bit of a mystery and to each their own.

I have always enjoyed learning about my body. Understanding some of its nuances truly has made me feel more empowered to ask the right questions, make informed decisions, hold open conversation, and appreciate, love, and care for my body.  You know what else this first season has done?

 It has unlocked Pandora's box!

For every stone I unturn in the world of women's reproductive health, I suddenly find three more unturned stones waiting to be flipped and discovered.  I feel hungry for more knowledge about women's health.  Whether you're still with us from season one or you're just joining us, I hope that you two are feeling a little hunger in your belly to learn more.

If season one was a caterpillar, then season two is a mother effing butterfly.  In season two, we are going to be discussing topics including, but by no means limited to,  urinary tract infections. Yeast infections, endometriosis, trauma-informed care, hysterectomies incontinence, a crash course on hormones, the science behind the menstrual cycle,  and those are only the first few topics.

We also have some pretty rad guests lined up for season two. Some medical experts, endometriosis and hysterectomy advocates, fellow women's health podcasters and authors. There is a wealth of knowledge to learn from.  One other cool idea we had at Not So Private Parts is to feature co hosts throughout the second season.

I keep all the learning and conversing to myself.  I know from chit chats with women and girls in my community that I'm not the only one who's curious about all the junk that's going on under our trunks. So some fellow regular gals are stepping up to join the conversation.  This makes me smile big because I can feel the ripples.

The more of us that know about and can take ownership of our bodies, the more we can share with our friends, family, colleagues, and loved ones.

So, how will this all work? You may be wondering.  The plan is to have two new episodes come out every month, just about every two weeks across the next year.

The first two episodes are coming out so soon or already out if you're listening to this past October 3rd of 2024
