CMC Conversation Radio PODCAST
Charles McCauley, it is my distinct honor to talk to Reagan Pinkston, number five, who's uh the big outside, you're getting stronger every match. I mean, uh, I asked Olivia this because you both kind of look similar on in square one or square three when you come in and if you're playing together. Where are you getting this power from? That's why I've cut started calling you President Reagan Pinkston. And uh, of course, we're gonna talk about your little sister Sydney or big sister. We'll figure that out too. But Reagan, thanks for joining me here. Hey, God bless. Uh so far, 4-0, and the Lady Chargers have something special going on.
SPEAKER_01Yes, we definitely have something special going on. I would say I get my power from our rotation in our hips, and we practice a lot of hitting and just strength in general.
SPEAKER_00I'm really impressed by the uh what I'm understanding to be the power lifting uh capabilities of you young ladies. Olivia Barnett told me she weighs 125 pounds, but bench press is 135. Uh that actually exceeds the average bench press possibilities for someone a little over 60 like me. So, I mean, that's uh impressive right there. And I'm sure you girls are just doing pull-ups, lat work. Uh the strength is beyond belief.
SPEAKER_01Yes, we do a lot of weight room stuff. Olivia is definitely one of the strongest we have. It's crazy. But we do a lot of upper body strength, and that helps us on the court.
SPEAKER_00Okay, uh, Reagan, uh, how long have you been uh uh playing body bummer? Is Sydney actually your twin?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, Sydney is my twin, and I'm older than her. But um by about Emma. One minute. What? When is Joe's birthday? August 2nd of 2010.
SPEAKER_00Oh man. Well, so you really uh you and uh your little sister are basically uh 16 years old.
SPEAKER_01Yes, 16 years old.
SPEAKER_00What do you like studying in school?
SPEAKER_01Um, my favorite thing is probably math. Definitely not ELA. Sydney's more of an ELA person, but I like how math is always a proven possibility.
SPEAKER_00Okay, it's you math genius is getting the job done. Reagan, God bless, and um, you've got the rotation worked down. So Sydney prefers serving the aces and killing from the backcourt, and you're hitting from the front, but I think you could do both if you wanted to.
SPEAKER_01Yes, hopefully I've been practicing some back row also.
SPEAKER_00Hey, Reagan, what do you like studying in school?
SPEAKER_01Um, in school, I like the science and the math.
SPEAKER_00Right. Oh, that's right. Well, God bless you, my dear. Let's have a successful match tonight. Keep getting stronger, and I appreciate you so much. Charles McCullough, with the honor of talking to President Reagan's little sister, Princess, is a president and a princess in this mix. I'm talking about Sydney Pinkston. Sydney. Okay, I spoke with Reagan a little bit ago, and she told me, and she specializes in those hits, but uh that you specialize in those serves, like you can kill them from the back court. And boy, did you prove that tonight with seven aces? Man, you were really on a row.
SPEAKER_01Thank you. I mean, I feel like uh you can win the game from the serving line, so it's pretty important.
SPEAKER_00You specialize in serve, but I've seen you set the unsettable and dig the undiggable too. But tell me a little bit about uh serving. What do you like to float serve, Tom Oxerve? What kind of uh jump serve? What do you like to serve generally?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I like to serve a jump float. I feel like like a flat float is like the hardest for the other team to receive, so that's why I do it. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Why is that?
SPEAKER_01Because when they like float on the ball, the other team has to move their feet more and like determine where it's gonna fall.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Uh but man, you had seven aces tonight, and you were getting like three or four in a row. I thought, Lord have mercy, the lady chargers are going crazy tonight, and you were serving them all over the place. So uh you're one minute younger than uh President Reagan.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's correct.
SPEAKER_00Okay, but does that have any influence at all when y'all when you can go home and I say, yeah, but I had seven aces tonight.
SPEAKER_01No, it definitely doesn't have any influence.
SPEAKER_00And you so y'all are actually identical to each other?
SPEAKER_01No, we're not identical. We're gonna do it.
SPEAKER_00Okay, now uh so uh now what do you like studying in school?
SPEAKER_01I really like math and definitely science. So this year I'm taking pre-calculus and AP physics.
SPEAKER_00A P physics, man, about 45 years ago when I was in high school, we didn't add much more than geometry, maybe add one plus one equals two. AP physics, tell me about that.
SPEAKER_01It's actually really hard, but the tests have like a lot of curves. So I mean if I study a lot, then I can do good in the class, but it's mainly just like calculating like velocity and force and no wonder you apply these uh quantum physics to your uh serves here.
SPEAKER_00Hey, a wonderful uh effort tonight. Congratulations. And uh thank you for taking this time to come over and talk with me. A big win tonight. Clearbrook can always bring it, and you got you take everybody seriously and respectfully as you did this evening. Got Lake coming up on Friday, and then we'll be up at Barbers Hill Tuesday. But uh one serve after the other. When Sydney is out there serving, I know why they named a whole city in Australia after you. It's Sidney Pinkston, Princess Sydney, and her sister is President Reagan on those hits. Thank you for talking with me, little Sydney. Uh
