Speaker 1:

three guys around a table and by three guys.

Speaker 3:

We're talking about three friends a lawyer, an engineer and a school superintendent and just like our personalities, our opinions vary and we certainly don't always agree. Whether we're discussing the best of or giving our tips and tricks of, things in everyday life, you're sure to learn something if you stick around.

Speaker 2:

Maybe we should do introductions here, since Chris hasn't been here. My name's Mark. How rude. Good to see you, chris.

Speaker 3:

Welcome back. Good to be seen. Yes, good to be seen. That's Greg over there, that's me.

Speaker 1:

I'm here.

Speaker 3:

Is that the guy under the blanket over there?

Speaker 1:

I am definitely under a blanket today and you are wearing?

Speaker 3:

is it like a thermal, some kind of? I'm rocking a North Face?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, look, when you come to Mark's house, you got to be ready for the frozen ton I had to show you.

Speaker 3:

Guys, I hate to tell you this, but I'm very rarely do you ever see me wear sweats? But I'm wearing thermals under my sweats.

Speaker 2:

Well, let's, let's just explain something here. Let's just ask a question what's an appropriate temperature to keep your house at in the winter? 71.

Speaker 3:

Oh my God, I'd roast 70 or 71.

Speaker 1:

We're 69 people in our house, okay.

Speaker 3:

That's what.

Speaker 1:

Actually, honestly, honestly, we keep the thermostat on 68 in the winter because the basement keeps it so much warmer upstairs.

Speaker 3:

I keep mine right now. 70 degrees, All right, so 65. But my basement also heats the thing too.

Speaker 2:

So we keep it at 65. With no basement, and if it gets a little chilly we'll turn it up to 66. Since you guys are over here right now, it's on 67. Wow.

Speaker 1:

I feel so honored. I do feel I. I mean I'm willing to chip in On the electric bill. If it can be turned up Higher than that.

Speaker 3:

Do you know what? Do you know what else? Did they just outscore A game? No, well, two Went for two. You know, what I'd like to chip in for Is having his driveway Shoveled.

Speaker 2:

Oh, there's no reason for that. I like it the way it is.

Speaker 1:

It is partially shoveled, it does keep people from getting in, that's right.

Speaker 3:

Well, I was getting ready to pull in behind you, greg, and I thought I'm going to park it on the street.

Speaker 2:

Well, you know some folks have trucks that have good four-wheel drive that they don't have to be concerned about.

Speaker 3:

I'm not worried about that, others drive Chevys, I'm worried about putting it in a park and sliding down the hill because it's four inches of ice and seven inches of snow. Is that a problem? Nah, I don't live here.

Speaker 1:

Don't bother me, my driveway's clean.

Speaker 3:

My driveway's dry. You know what the problem is, though it wasn't just the driveway that was full of snow, did you?

Speaker 2:

see the kitchen. It's so damn cold in the kitchen. So, producer Rick Mellon, in the great state of Florida, they've had a little chilly, little chilly temperatures Like 65, 66.

Speaker 1:

It's gotten under 70. Did he have to turn the air conditioner off?

Speaker 2:

I don't know that he's turned it on Maybe in a while Now. You know, Shout out to our producer Thornton. You know we've been there at his house before in the summertime where he keeps it on around 76 or so.

Speaker 1:

Do you sweat? How old is he?

Speaker 3:

A little warm. A little warm. How old is he?

Speaker 1:

His bones will hurt if he keeps it colder. Hey, listen.

Speaker 3:

I'm not going to say anything about anybody, especially about your neighbors. Yep, with your neighbor across the street. Yep, thanksgiving Day. Remember how warm it was on Thanksgiving Day? It was like what? 60. Yeah, that house was like and I'm not exaggerating when I tell you this the heat was set on 78. Oh boy, and it was like 82, 83 degrees. That's not good. It was roasting. Oh, that wasn't thanksgiving, never mind, that was christmas. Oh, that's even worse.

Speaker 2:

Yeah so we've uh uh, rambling here for a few minutes and that's fine because it's kind of a potpourri, because we've got at least one of us me that wants to talk a little college football.

Speaker 1:

I do know I'm down with some college football.

Speaker 3:

Greg's in for some college football. Look, we're beating the horse boys. We're beating the horse.

Speaker 2:

I'm against animal beatings you know, just because the SEC is out doesn't mean that we can't talk about it now Look the good thing is, the team that should never have a team again is out.

Speaker 3:

You're welcome.

Speaker 1:

Yep again is out. You're welcome the.

Speaker 3:

Catholics took them down Fighting Sanduskies. Now we have the Colt versus the Buckeyes. I can't say anything bad. We have the Colt versus the Just for Men.

Speaker 1:

He has got the worst beard, not just in college football.

Speaker 2:

Maybe in humanity. It's terrible. Here's the thing. It's terrible, here's the thing, with Ryan Day, who we should all start praying to as our next God.

Speaker 3:

Lifetime contract.

Speaker 2:

I'm all for it.

Speaker 1:

Loading up with the left hand contract?

Speaker 3:

I think I don't think it's just for men. I'll tell you what it is. I couldn't draw a better beard on a picture Dude.

Speaker 1:

I think it's a, it's a perfect beard.

Speaker 2:

I think it's a black Sharpie. It's a Sharpie. What about a tattoo?

Speaker 3:

He's tattooed. He's got a tattooed beard. You know what I'm going to tell you? Well, you notice it's really dark here and then it's not at all on the side of his face, but he's got almost a chin strap on the sides. But I mean, there's no place. You know, most men have that little open area. Well, between you two, never mind.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, you guys don't have any facial hair. I could grow facial hair if I wanted to, but I get this little.

Speaker 3:

I didn't shave today and you see what I got. Of course it's all colored Mark's hair, but there's two spots right here. He's got the perfect beard. Man, it's perfect, but it is definitely sharpied on.

Speaker 2:

So we'll just briefly run down the fact that we had two really good ball games in the two national semifinals right. Yep, the Penn State-Notre Dame game. Fantastic football game. I think you saw why Notre Dame has had the success, that they've had Really strong defense. That quarterback is gutsy as all get out.

Speaker 1:

oh yeah, you know well, and the big difference with notre dame is is they. They made good in-game adjustments yep, yep, they did I mean they just did.

Speaker 2:

I mean when, when the game was first starting, I was afraid penn state was going to roll them you know, let's just talk about that for a second when you think about the coaching in that game I mean, there was one side that was very clearly a better coach- Sure no question.

Speaker 3:

We don't have to mention names, but James Franklin is a terrible coach. He can't win a big game at all.

Speaker 2:

And, you know, maybe James Franklin, just some advice from the Beer Brothers here for in the future.

Speaker 3:

Maybe before the game.

Speaker 2:

During the press conference with the opposing coach, don't talk about his hairline, how young he is, and talk about how his team should be in a conference.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, how'd that work out for?

Speaker 3:

you, how'd that go?

Speaker 1:

I do agree with the conference thing though. Yeah, how's that money getting split up?

Speaker 3:

But the $20 million they get to keep and that's what the Catholics need. Another $20 million, it's better than Penn State, isn't it?

Speaker 1:

Maybe they could pay their legal bills with the Penn State. Well, I'm all for lawyers getting paid. I get confused about that, I got to tell you though talking about the Penn State-Notre Dame thing.

Speaker 3:

What irritated me so much about that is all of the people doing the interviews. All they could talk about and they were trying to focus around how it would feel to be the first African-American or man of color. They said it different ways to play for a national title, not play coach, coach, sorry. And James Franklin would talk about how it's going to be great and hopes to do this. Do that the Notre Dame coach. He said it is not about that, it's not about me, it'll be cool, but I'm thinking about these players, I'm thinking about them.

Speaker 3:

It's a team and I'm like this guy is awesome, and what's he? 38 years old.

Speaker 2:

Fun fact, fun fact, fun fact. Hold on, is there a fun fact?

Speaker 1:

Mark, you will know the answer to this, but I don't know if you will or not. Ohio State, that was not my question. Is that the answer?

Speaker 3:

No how about you?

Speaker 2:

just wait for the question.

Speaker 1:

I so excited. Oh no, I'm sorry, it actually was that marcus freeman. Where did he play?

Speaker 2:

okay, here let's start. Another fun fact, since I just learned this last night in addition to being the first african-american coach is also uh, he, marcus freeman is also first asian-american correct coach, his father head coach to be.

Speaker 1:

That's right. Yeah, what's his last?

Speaker 2:

name Marcus Freeman. So yeah, he was a really, really good player for Ohio State. The Buckeyes, you know, win, lose or draw this coming up game. We'll talk about that in a little bit, but he'll always have a really fond place in Ohio State. I mean, there are a lot of Ohio State fans that would love to see him come to.

Speaker 3:

Ohio State.

Speaker 2:

He's set up for success at Notre.

Speaker 3:

Dame, he's not going to leave there. You know I hate to be that guy, but Ohio State loved Kirk Herbstreet and he had to move because they got so bad Kirk.

Speaker 2:

Herbstreet wasn't a coach. That's true.

Speaker 3:

I get it, but they all love him because he's a. Oh my goodness.

Speaker 2:

A lot of respect for Marcus Freeman for what he did on the field. If you ever watched Kirk Herbstreit play, like I did when I was a student there, was he a quarterback?

Speaker 3:

Yeah and not a good one Did he beat Michigan.

Speaker 2:

No, he never beat Michigan either. No, wow, I mean, I don't know. You can't say, did he ever? Because he only played half of a year, his senior year, that's it. I mean, yeah, he wasn't like a See, I don't even know he went there.

Speaker 3:

I never know if he played, he stunk. Who was his coach?

Speaker 2:

Trestle. No, it was John Cooper. Back in the day, john Cooper came in at the very end, okay.

Speaker 1:

So yeah, anywho, Notre Dame took care of business, clearly won the game. I mean, you know, they were the better of the two teams.

Speaker 3:

You know why they won. Because, they have God on their side Because they scored more points, that's true.

Speaker 2:

Penn State no wide receivers, not one. Not one caught a ball.

Speaker 1:

How unbelievable is that so?

Speaker 3:

unbelievable.

Speaker 2:

That had to be a first Best tight end in college football. No question about it.

Speaker 1:

He was the best player on the field. The best player on the field, no question about it.

Speaker 2:

Greg said that in a text and I 100% agree with it. I've seen too much of that guy Tyler Warren. I mean he's stupid good, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1:

And got used to his fullest extent. Yeah, I love it. They didn't even get him the ball, no.

Speaker 2:

So yeah, yeah, I mean, and they were having success running the football for a while and then, for whatever reason, they they decide that drew aller needs to throw it. You know, 30 times how'd that work out? I'm telling you what the fact that he's coming back he's not very good he stinks. I've been saying it for he's not very good he, he doesn't concern me as an Ohio State fan at all.

Speaker 1:

Well, you shouldn't be concerned about it because of James Franklin. That's a good point Now the game last night.

Speaker 2:

Ohio State and Texas another fantastic football game. Closer than the score final score A hundred percent, a hundred percent, but the better team won, I think. So you know why they won they scored more points, you guys catch on quick.

Speaker 2:

I think if I could give props to Texas for a minute, we can talk about this, but I was really impressed with that Texas team overall. Now, offensively they struggled a little bit, but Ohio State has the best defense in the country. Um, but Texas's defense is legit. That defensive line was was stout and um, yeah, you know that Texas defense gave up 21 points to Ohio State. Ohio State scored seven points on the fumble. You know, at the end of the game, you know that was a very, very good defensive team. Having said that, ohio State did not play its best game, but still found a way to win, so I was thrilled with what they were able to do.

Speaker 3:

I do not think last night's game Ohio State didn't play as good last night as they did the prior game. I think they were down last night. I agree with that.

Speaker 1:

And what I told Mark, though I think Texas plays to the level of their competition.

Speaker 3:

Oh, yeah, absolutely Up and down.

Speaker 1:

Yep, yep, I mean having kept up with them more this year because they are in the SEC. There were plenty of games that they won with no problem, but they beat Arkansas by 7 or 10.

Speaker 2:

They beat Kentucky by 7 or 10.

Speaker 1:

I mean, they'd get up 20 to nothing and then they'd stop. But last night I think they played up a little bit, I think they did.

Speaker 2:

But last night, I think they played up a little bit.

Speaker 1:

I think they did, obviously, but I think at least two of us believe that. Well, two things One, when you got the ball on the first, when you got it first to goal on the one, you've got Archie Manning sitting on the sidelines. If you can't run it between the tackles in four plays and pick up one yard, you don't deserve to win and you don't deserve the touchdown. Agreed, don't do a stupid pitch play that you've got the possibility of losing yardage on Terrible call. It makes no sense. Ohio State did something similar. Yeah, exactly, and it makes no sense.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it was a terrible play call, really well defended by the two best no question. The two best safeties in the country Play for Ohio State Caleb Downs, latham, ransom.

Speaker 3:

That linebacker they have.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, they blew that up, yep, but you can't give them that opportunity Run it four times. Right. Run it four times. If you can't run between the tackles four times and pick up one yard, you don't deserve touchdown to your point. Yeah, quinn ewers is a statue and so bring in arch manning why? Why is arch manning not playing? Yeah, in general at all right.

Speaker 2:

I mean, he got in for one play last night, fumbled it, yeah, yeah got it right back, but fumbled it, yeah, you think it was.

Speaker 1:

It was definitely fumbled.

Speaker 2:

He, he, he, I think I his knee was down. I think that's what they said. It was one of those. That was where it happened. It was so close it was so close that if they would have called it a fumble, they wouldn't have overturned it.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, right, right right.

Speaker 2:

But, they didn't. They didn't call it a fumble.

Speaker 1:

But then he doesn't see any playing time again. I mean, one of their best offensive games this year is when Ewers was out, yeah, and Manning accounted for five touchdowns.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, exactly, yeah. Okay, I think a lot of Texas fans today are kind of singing that tune that Quinn Ewers thinks.

Speaker 1:

But here's the door Time for you to go, yep, but there's some talk about him getting some big NIL money. Yeah, and I don't see it.

Speaker 3:

He, but there's some talk about him getting some big NIL money. Yeah, and I don't see it. He's going to Ohio State.

Speaker 2:

I hope not, because I just don't see it. Nothing against the kid, but I just don't see the fascination.

Speaker 1:

But I don't see how Carson Beck got $4 million to go to Miami, either I mean look he's not that good.

Speaker 2:

Now, did you all see the tweet I sent you about the kid that went to Kentucky, Will Levis? Will Levis, Yep. Went to the Titans. Who's making what? $2.8?.

Speaker 1:

Right, he's making $850,000 this year.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, as a first-round pick. And then this kid, carson Beck, who wasn't going in the first round or he would be in. Yeah, yeah, yeah, so getting four million, yeah, it's crazy. Um, now, so it's a. You know, jack sawyer never has to buy anything in the city of columbus, ohio, for the rest of his existence right I mean he legend status. After that play last night seems to be a really cool guy too.

Speaker 3:

Really cool kid yeah right loves loves.

Speaker 2:

The buckeyes always wanted to be a buckeye, grew up in pickerington, which is a suburb of columbus, so yeah, you can't get him to a better kid, so he's ever been to schmidt's? If he hasn't, he's missing out. Darn right and buckeye donuts, oh boy.

Speaker 1:

So national championship yeah, we're gonna have january 20. That's a big day, huge.

Speaker 2:

Huge.

Speaker 3:

So did you see JD Vance's thing I did and it was fantastic. That is awesome, that guy.

Speaker 2:

Do you think I could skip the inauguration to attend the national championship?

Speaker 1:

I think he can go to the inauguration, but it's that night he don't have to go to those balls.

Speaker 3:

Who cares about those things? Who cares about the?

Speaker 2:

balls. So, yeah, that's going to be fun. I think it's going to be a big game. I think it's going to be a good game. I think the opening line was like nine and a half or something.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, the line's big. It's bigger than what I thought it was going to be.

Speaker 2:

There's no way it's going to be a close game. Look at, every time that Ohio State plays Notre Dame, they played last year. Yeah, and Ohio State won on the last play of the game. So you know now. Granted, that was in Notre Dame and all that.

Speaker 1:

but the line's nine and a half. Yeah Well, I agree that was last year's game. Is Ohio State better than they were last year? Sure.

Speaker 2:

I think so. Is Notre Dame better than they were last year? A million percent better, I mean.

Speaker 1:

I think the proportionate improvement is Notre Dame's improved more over what Ohio State is.

Speaker 2:

I think where the game is going to be won or lost is going to be determining those injuries on Notre Dame's offensive line. Yeah, they lost two or three guys in the semifinal game and the defense for Ohio State we can all agree is legit.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, it's good.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, no question, so we shall see. So this may not necessarily be a preview podcast for that, but you know down the road yeah absolutely. Um, yeah, I I'm, I'm pretty much on cloud nine folks, so, uh, you know how's the rest of your Ohio State fandom Lifetime contract?

Speaker 1:

Yeah people.

Speaker 2:

Look, people are. You know, everyone understands. And they said, and all of the Ohio State fans that were calling for Ryan Day's head said they got to make a deep run. Well, they've made a deep run, yeah, they've made a deep run.

Speaker 1:

Well, here's the deal you got to get Chip Kelly from not going to the bathroom. Yes, if he doesn't go to the bathroom, then Ohio State's good to go.

Speaker 2:

But when he goes to the bathroom, you can tell immediately.

Speaker 1:

First, you can tell immediately. And then when Ryan Day starts making play calls, then it's terrible, yep, but if you can get chip kelly to stay, look, have him not eat before the game. Yeah, look, they can't. You know, get him a bucket for the press box.

Speaker 2:

You can almost see when it, when it happens, when they go on a drive where everything clicks, it's like, oh okay, they remember that we can be creative, they can do some different things, and I don't know if you there was a great picture last night, one thing that texas did that I think that Notre Dame will do. Texas bracketed Jeremiah Smith, not with two players, but with three, yeah, and and he didn't. He didn't beat them.

Speaker 1:

No.

Speaker 2:

They have.

Speaker 1:

I expect Notre Dame to do something very similar.

Speaker 2:

There's a great picture out there where it's him all the way out by himself and there's a corner on him and there's a middle safety and a deep safety. All three of them are bracketing him.

Speaker 1:

It's hard to believe that kid was playing high school football this time last year.

Speaker 2:

Oh he's. I mean insanely. I've never seen anything like him. Where's he from Florida? Yeah, unbelievable. Yeah, he's crazy good. So, yeah, I could talk a lot about the Bolts right now. They had a big win over the Boston Bruins the other night. But I think you guys should talk a little college basketball, because Chris says that with all this college football talk, we're losing listeners.

Speaker 3:

I think we need to talk about current events. Let's talk about the California wildfires.

Speaker 2:

Oh, that should be a fascinating discussion. Lead us, chris Steps, on fire.

Speaker 3:

You know, know, the problem is this is where it goes back to is media and all that. You know, you hear all these things about they had there was no water pressure in the water hydrants and the half of them didn't have water in them and the water uh reserves didn't have any water in all water, water everywhere, but not a drop to drink why can't they pick up the salt water out of the ocean and drop it?

Speaker 1:

We can't have salty fires.

Speaker 3:

I'm just saying, I'm just throwing it out there Now you're an engineer, so how would we do that they're scooping the water out of the lakes and stuff. Anyway, pick it out of the ocean.

Speaker 2:

And they're worried about the salt. Then you might get tortoises and stuff. Yeah.

Speaker 3:

Sea turtles worried about the salt, and then you might get tortoises and stuff. Yeah, look at that barracuda, it's grilled, grilled barracuda. Uh, that's terrible, but that is just awful how the santa ana winds are creating all those problems out there. They're saying gusts of you know 50, 60 mile an hour. Went, you know, crazy. It's not, yeah, it's not good, it's uh have you been to the santa monica pier?

Speaker 2:

oh, yeah, yeah. So when you're there, I have not. When you're on, when you're on the s Monica Pier.

Speaker 1:

Oh, yeah, yeah. So when you're there, I have not, it's cool.

Speaker 2:

When you're on the Santa Monica Pier and you look north and you can see where Malibu is. I saw a picture from the Santa Monica Pier where that is just Gone Gone. Yeah, it's crazy. Yeah, I feel terrible for.

Speaker 3:

But here's my next question why is it really wildfires? When you hear wildfires repetitive we've heard this over and over why is it always? In california, and why is it always around la? What is it about that area? Well, I mean seriously what I don't, besides the santa ana winds. I don't understand why there's only wildfires over there. It doesn't rain very much, you, so it's dry. You know it never rains in Southern California, exactly.

Speaker 2:

And the only wildfire that I would like to talk about is Tommy Wildfire Rich. He was the man back in the day, that's, before your guys' day.

Speaker 3:

I don't know, you lost me on that.

Speaker 1:

I have no idea what's happening.

Speaker 2:

Tommy Wildfire Rich used to be the NWA world champion. He used to. You know I like the.

Speaker 1:

NWA. But what about the return of Dude Love? How about Dude? I like the NWA. I mean, I'm worried.

Speaker 2:

I'm worried about you. Know, dude, love frankly.

Speaker 3:

Dude is back. Dude Love is the man.

Speaker 2:

Dude this game's got out of control, by the way.

Speaker 3:

Oh yeah, Houston Texans are all over the hey, the UK game's on if you want to turn that on there.

Speaker 1:

It turns on at 8.30. Oh, that's right, good grief, so you're close 45 minutes.

Speaker 3:

Dude Love is back though. That's how cool, we got to go, man, we got to. It's called it should be the Valentine's Day. It is Janie, and I went to it last year. Well, how would you like to go on a date with?

Speaker 1:

me and Mark this year.

Speaker 3:

I'm down, I'm ready. Somebody in this room is what the heck? I'll go ahead and do it. I'm buying Indies at night. Who's in? Yo, I'm done.

Speaker 1:

I'm in for some Indies. We got pregame.

Speaker 3:

We Free game, we got tailgated OVW like we did before. You think any of those chickens we planted grew?

Speaker 1:

over there.

Speaker 3:

I think we should check. Chicken bones are everywhere.

Speaker 2:

Let me tell you something. Oh, let me tell you something as soon as you mention Indies. Baby, the big dust is in the house on the stand Because I will get funky like a monkey all over those chicken wings. I'm all about it, I'm all about it.

Speaker 1:

So you probably didn't get to watch this, but we should spend a couple of minutes on the first Monday Night Raw that was on Netflix.

Speaker 3:

Oh, I'm so irritated I've got to go back and watch it.

Speaker 1:

Okay, so first Monday Night.

Speaker 3:

Raw on Netflix. It's on Netflix, so I can go back and watch it. You absolutely can go back and watch it. It's on Netflix, so I can go back and watch it. You absolutely can go back and watch it.

Speaker 1:

The opening match is the best match of the night.

Speaker 2:

Fantastic match. Well, how was?

Speaker 3:

the opening, though how did they do on the opening? It was fine.

Speaker 1:

To me. They personally got into the nostalgia a little bit too much.

Speaker 3:

Was this when they brought out Hulk Hogan? He's trying to pimp out his career. We'll get to that.

Speaker 1:

So I thought they tried to be a little bit too nostalgic, honestly. Right, but the first match was Roman Reigns versus Solo yeah, oh dog.

Speaker 3:

Oh, that's what's-his-name's kid. Right, it's Rikishi's kid.

Speaker 2:

Roman Reigns is related. No, no, no, no. I don't know if Solo is his kid or not. I don't know. Is Roman.

Speaker 1:

Reigns still with Bloodline or whatever. Yeah, okay, related, no, no, no. I don't know if solo is good or not.

Speaker 3:

I don't know, I don't know, is roman reigns still with the bloodline, or whatever yeah, okay, so this was, this was to determine.

Speaker 1:

This would be the who would be the otc? Yeah, the original, the travel chief, roman reigns wins. It was a great match.

Speaker 3:

So is the, is the are? Is the bloodline good or bad? Well, it's been divided so you got the, you got, you got the usos and roman reigns.

Speaker 1:

they're considered the good and then. So you got the Usos and Roman Reigns, they're considered the good. And then you've got the bad, which is Jacob Fatu solo, and there's one other one. So where's the rock fall?

Speaker 3:

into this, so the rock came out.

Speaker 2:

He did At the end, after the match was over. Okay, who won, though?

Speaker 1:

Roman Reigns won Okay.

Speaker 2:

And Roman Reigns got the red pepper necklace. I don't know what you call that. They have some name for it, but it's weird, like a label.

Speaker 3:

It looks like chili peppers, so you know the Rock and Roman Reigns.

Speaker 1:

I was like, can I have some of that for my chili?

Speaker 2:

The Rock and Roman Reigns were at odds for the longest time. But at Because he's the final boss, he is the final boss.

Speaker 3:

Whatever that, I don't know what that means either.

Speaker 1:

It's still to play out, I believe.

Speaker 3:

Okay, yeah.

Speaker 1:

Then there were only four matches. It went on for like three and a half hours. Yeah, there was only four matches.

Speaker 3:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

And there were only four matches. Yep. So the next match. So the Rock comes out. That comes out before that match too. If you remember Mark, he was the main first thing. So then the next match is the women's championship match, and that's Liv Morgan versus Rhea Ripley. Yep, and that's where Dirty Dom's involved with most sides.

Speaker 3:

See, I don't know Rhea Ripley's, the only one. I know who that is. I don't know the rest of them Liv Morgan.

Speaker 1:

she was the champion, has been champion most of the year.

Speaker 2:

She has been champion most of the year. She's not unattractive. Oh, not unattractive, easiest way to say it yes, absolutely.

Speaker 1:

But Ripley wins the match and I honestly think the only reason why they had her win the match is so they could bring the Undertaker out, because she wins the match. She's walking back. Undertaker comes out on a motorcycle, drives down around the ring, turns around and comes back.

Speaker 2:

They both stick their arms up in the air and that's it like fist bump, raise her arm up in the air, and she didn't even get on the motorcycle she should have got on the motorcycle and rolled out with him, but she did not it was, it was odd.

Speaker 3:

So basically we're just trying to say that, all right, the undertaker's on her side.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I guess, but the whole thing was just odd Well she's goth yeah.

Speaker 1:

Okay. So it was kind of like so just weird, yeah.

Speaker 3:

So was he Deadman Inc, or was he? No, he was the American Badass in this one I didn't know Right, he was on a motorcycle.

Speaker 2:

Drew McIntyre.

Speaker 1:

Drew McIntyre and Sammy Zane. They wrestled and it was. It was fine, it was great, it was fine. Drew McIntyre Won. And then that's when Hulk Hogan Came out. Hulk Hogan comes out. Now you gotta remember this is in California, right? Hulk Hogan Comes out. Now you got to remember, this is in California.

Speaker 2:

Right. Hulk Hogan comes out. He's touting his American.

Speaker 1:

I am a real American, a real American beer, but and he's touting a partnership between Netflix. And he's like I've had all these great partners and Randy Savage and all this stuff, and now we got Netflix and it was just weird Jimmy Hart's waving an.

Speaker 3:

America flag the whole time. Jimmy Hart looks great for 81.

Speaker 2:

But the whole time, entire time, he is just getting booed ruthlessly.

Speaker 1:

It was uncomfortable for me in my house.

Speaker 2:

I was watching it. Why were they?

Speaker 3:

booing him. Well, it's got to be Because he was at the RNC. He spoke. That's right and you're talking it's.

Speaker 1:

California. It was that, yeah, political. I mean, that was the. I think that's the reason.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I didn't think about that. Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1:

And then the last. So that was just. It was bad.

Speaker 3:

So he just walked, he ripped his shirt off right and had American beer, or whatever.

Speaker 1:

No, he had a Netflix shirt.

Speaker 3:

Raw is Netflix shirt on, and then he just went back in there and then he just went back to back, okay, and so it was just uncomfortable.

Speaker 1:

Yep, and speaking of another thing that was uncomfortable, the Rock comes out and does the opening thing and he's always being against cody rhodes, always, and talk bad about him, talk, talks about his mama, says he loves dusty but his son's a jerk or whatever, and he couldn't. He's like you've carried this company on your back for the last six months, nine months, and I mean just kisses cody rhodes handy yeah, it's like it was trying to get him over.

Speaker 2:

It was weird.

Speaker 1:

I didn't like it, nope. But then the last match was.

Speaker 1:

CM Punk versus Sith freaking Rollins. Okay, I wanted them both to lose Right, awful. And they both did their finishing moves and did them multiple times. Cm Punk ends up winning the match. He does his finishing move. And his finishing moves kind of cool. Yeah, he's got him up on his shoulders, flips him overhead, knees him in the face, supposedly, but the last one he did on seth freaking rollins. He need him, like in the gut it was, and it's seth rollins, but seth, he hit him with it. Once seth rollins goes and bounces off the rope and comes back and lays over cm punk's shoulders for him to lift him up and do it again.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it was not great. The thing that I was a little about the whole thing was they had all these celebrities there and they would go to them in the crowd. And every one of them most of them had a Netflix show. So it was like they were trying to say well, they're here of them had a Netflix show. So it was like they were trying to say well, they're here because they have a Netflix show and watch them on the same platform.

Speaker 1:

Absolutely.

Speaker 2:

That's weird. There were a few ex-wrestlers that were there or ex-pac, was one of them.

Speaker 3:

Oh, he was there.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, sean Waltman, sean Waltman yeah, and the ghost of Dusty Rhodes was in the building, was he?

Speaker 3:

Absolutely. Is he in the building?

Speaker 2:

Let me explain something to you all. I never have left the building, you understand.

Speaker 1:

So it started out great and in my humble opinion, I thought it went down the longer it went. Yeah, but, chris, it was an hour and 20 minutes and that was the end of the first match.

Speaker 3:

That is crazy. Hopefully it'll just. Maybe that's just because it was the first day. I'm sure that's what it was.

Speaker 1:

I'm sure they'll get back to like a regular card, but there's talk of bringing Ric Flair back for the Royal Rumble in the Indianapolis.

Speaker 3:

And wrestling.

Speaker 1:

Surely not. I don't know if he would be wrestling or not, maybe they're bringing him back Special guest. But, Roman. Reigns is going to be in the Royal Rumble.

Speaker 3:

What about? Was Jim Ross JR and JR's out? Oh, michael, what's his name's in there now, isn't he? Who's that? Jr's out and the King's out? Michael, what's his name? He's in there now, isn't he? Who's that? Jr's out and the King's out?

Speaker 1:

Oh, it's Michael, it's Pat McAfee and Michael Cole, michael Cole, that's it, michael Cole. How do?

Speaker 3:

they do Pretty good.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I used to hate Pat McAfee a lot. I used to hate Pat McAfee. I like him a lot, I can tell you that dude is awesome, I can watch him every day now.

Speaker 3:

He's great.

Speaker 2:

I think he's great. Can I just say something here?

Speaker 1:

First of all, I would like to thank the many, many fans throughout this country that wrote cards and letters just to wrote the American dream while I was down. Seriously, has there been anybody better at promos than him?

Speaker 2:

And this is my favorite one of all time this is the hard times promo you ever heard this one. Yeah, uh-huh, you don't know hard times.

Speaker 1:

Macho man was pretty good. Speaking of wrestling, did you see that the Rock did his Mount Rushmore of wrestling?

Speaker 3:

And I know we've done an episode like that. Did you see who was on it? Stone Cold was number one.

Speaker 2:

Stone Cold was on it. Stone cold was number one, cold was on it. Wow, hulk hogan, rick flair, rick flair and andre the junk. I can't disagree with that. That's pretty good.

Speaker 3:

That's a pretty good one, uh you know, this spring would have been a tough one for andre's a tough one for me.

Speaker 2:

I would have probably put like bruiser brody or somebody like that on it back in the day before Andre got really really old and heavy, I mean he was athletic and yeah he was look, this is a good episode for a future. You know a good topic for a future episode. Best promos, the best. Oh yeah, I like that Because you just brought up the wrong. I'll throw you another going, jake Roberts.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, he got all high and weird. Well, that's going to have to be a tease Hang on.

Speaker 2:

You know, who would be in?

Speaker 3:

my butt about Mount Rushmore, bob Backlund.

Speaker 1:

Bob Backlund's terrible.

Speaker 3:

You know where he was from.

Speaker 1:

Lima, darn right.

Speaker 2:

That's what I was told. Al Snow is the only wrestler from Lima that we need to discuss on this podcast.

Speaker 3:

That's true, he is really from Lima. He had a funny tweet the other day too About plowing roads or something. Plowing roads and plowing something else. It was weird, he was charging something $20, $50,. Who cares? That's great.

Speaker 1:

That's right.
