Three Guys Around a Table and The Best Of…

Five New Coaches, Rivalry Fire, And A Playoff Puzzle

The Beer Brothers

Send us a text

A weekend like this doesn’t come around often: five new SEC head coaches, a rivalry turned on its head, and a playoff picture that refuses to sit still. We pull the threads together with a clear-eyed look at what actually wins in December—possession, red-zone courage, and a defense that travels—starting with Ohio State’s control over Michigan and the numbers that made the score feel even heavier.

From there we face the question hanging over Kentucky: stick with the known or bet on a new identity. We talk candidly about buyouts, athletic director oversight, and why fans measure the future more than the past. If you care about building a modern program, you’ll hear exactly what we’d hire for: a recruiter who can sell a system, develop receivers and quarterbacks, and turn the portal into a pipeline. Names like Brian Hartline and Will Stein come up for what they actually do—elevate talent and call with intent.

Then the carousel goes full tilt with the Lane Kiffin saga: staff ultimatums, NIL war chests, and those planes waiting to scoop up transfers. We separate noise from leverage and ask the only question that matters—does it translate to championships? That debate feeds straight into our playoff seeding talk as we weigh Ole Miss’s one-loss case, BYU’s resume, Alabama’s quality wins, and the margins that should decide bubble teams. Along the way, we call the conference title lines, touch Heisman odds, and make picks that might age perfectly or blow up by Monday.

If you love college football’s mix of strategy, ego, and data, this is your kind of ride. Subscribe, share with a friend who lives for the chaos, and tell us your last four in with one hot take we can’t ignore.

SPEAKER_03:

Three guys around the table. And by three guys, we're talking about three friends: a lawyer, an engineer, and a school superintendent.

SPEAKER_01:

And just like our personalities, our opinions vary. And we certainly don't always agree. Whether we're discussing the best of or giving our tips and tricks of things in everyday life, you're sure to learn something if you stick around.

SPEAKER_02:

Well, we're s we sit here and it's November the 30th, and it's been an interesting last 48 hours of college football. Yes, it has. And so this episode has to be devoted entirely to college football because I, you know, Chris and I are both SEC guys. I can't remember a day in college football in the history of college football, and there has to be, in which there's five new head coaches in the SEC today. It's wild. Not counting the games that happened this weekend. Who who are the five, by the way? I know Florida's got a new head coach. Uh they got John Summerlin. LSU Summerall. Summerall. LSU's got Lane Kiffin. Uh Ole Miss hired um the guy from uh oh no, Old Miss.

SPEAKER_03:

I didn't know Old Miss even hired.

SPEAKER_02:

Old Miss has hired hired a replacement already. It didn't take long. No, it's um I'll look it up. Keep going. Yeah. Arkansas hired their guy. Memphis. And Auburn hired their guy. Uh Chris will pull up all the names, but I mean it's amazing. But it's been and we could be looking at number six, right? Absolutely. And and Pete Golding. It was all it was all after the Lane Kiffin decision was made.

SPEAKER_01:

Pete Golding is the coach at Old Miss, and he was their uh defensive coordinator.

SPEAKER_02:

Correct. They they they're trying to keep all their players there. I mean, that all makes sense.

SPEAKER_03:

Well, you we talked about they've had weeks to get ready. Yeah. We we talked about this in terms of what was Lane Kiffin gonna do. You'd ask that question. Yeah. And I'm floored.

SPEAKER_02:

You two both. So do we want to talk about the games first or we want to talk coaches first? Let's let's talk games. All right, let's talk about the games. All right, two big games. Let's talk the game. All right, Kentucky Louisville. The game.

SPEAKER_03:

This will be Ohio State, Michigan. This will be my chance to finally talk about an Ohio State victory over Michigan. First time in a long time. I'm allowed to say Michigan now. The game is over uh for the year. So for 364 days, I can celebrate and then worry uh again for the next one. That's just the nature of the game.

SPEAKER_02:

That that game didn't start off great for you guys.

SPEAKER_03:

It didn't. It looked like a lot of the it I was like, here we go again.

SPEAKER_02:

Here we go again. And I looked at it showed Ryan Day on TV and I was like, his butts puckered something awful right now. And so it was Mark's. Look, the better team won. Yes. Uh I mean, even I know you hate Dave Poynor. Yes. I know you do. Yes. I like him personally. Yeah. Uh but even he said after the game, the better team won, Ohio State was better in all three phases, and that this needed to be a wake-up call for Michigan.

SPEAKER_03:

Charles Woodson, the same thing. Here's uh, you know, he said the same things. And I what it what can you say after that? That was an annihilation. Uh it 27 to 9 doesn't sound like a blowout, but it was as big a blowout as you could get. Uh in the second. I don't know that I would go that far. I don't agree. I I don't know that I would go that far. Just look at the numbers. Uh outside of the 27 to 9, it could have been 41 to 3 kind of a game. I mean, it could have been.

SPEAKER_01:

Uh 41 to nothing.

SPEAKER_03:

Well, I'll we'll give them at least three. I mean, you know, a charity.

SPEAKER_01:

Okay.

SPEAKER_03:

But um here's the deal. The time of possession, Ohio State had the ball for 40 minutes. Michigan had it for 20. Ohio State gained over 415, 400 and whatever total yards. Michigan's total yards under 200. Uh, rushing yards, Ohio State more, passing yards, uh, a dominant effort. Realizing that Bryce Underwood, the big$10 million freshman that do we know that's what he gets to pay. When he stated uh before the game, when he stated before the game, Ohio State's over now that I'm here. Eight of eighteen for 63 yards. Yeah. Yeah. Uh go go enjoy your next 364 days there, Bryce. Yeah. Uh welcome to what this rivalry is. That the Ohio State defense has not given up more than 16 points all year. Yep. They gave up nine yesterday, completely shut down after a couple of big runs to start the game. Yep. There were some schemed things that, as Matt Patricia said after the game, hey, you know, we made a few adjustments. From that point on, I had no qualms. As soon as Ohio State went down and scored, when they when they uh got up, I was like, well, this is over. And I never feel that way in that game. You know that. Sure.

SPEAKER_02:

And um, and you know I thought it was uh for for Michigan, they needed to score a touchdown after they got that turnover. When they kicked the field goal, yep.

SPEAKER_03:

They they needed they needed seven points there. When they were down double digits in the I know the beginning of the fourth quarter, if I'm not mistaken, uh, they had a fourth and whatever, and they punted. Michigan did. And even at that point, it's like they were they were basically saying, okay, you know, we're we're gonna pack it in and get ready for the citrus bowl or whatever, you know, bowl that they're gonna get to go to. Um the one thing I'll say, I appreciated very much Ohio State winning you with humility. They didn't try to plant a flag like uh Michigan did and Ohio State. They did not, they did not try to plant a flag. Fake news. That's not fake news.

SPEAKER_01:

The coach was out there telling them and stopping them from doing it and told them to go to the locker room.

SPEAKER_03:

They didn't even have a flag pole to plant a flag.

SPEAKER_02:

All of these, all of these rivalry games get a little they get a little chippy.

SPEAKER_03:

But what was funny was the Michigan players went to go and protect the M. Like they like they had planned, they had said, if we lose, we're gonna go protect the M. Maybe you should have planned a little harder on the game plan. Uh I'm just throwing that out there as a possibility.

SPEAKER_02:

I did think it was funny that Brutus put an X through the M. That wasn't it.

SPEAKER_01:

That would be funny. And then he wrote it in script and it was totally funny. That was part of the game.

SPEAKER_03:

Uh, the only other thing I'm gonna say, and then I'll shut up about Michigan for the next 300 or so days. And that is that's a dirty football team. The amount of times, the number of times that they attempted to get into fights with Ohio State players, the cheap shots they took, the guy headbutting the official.

SPEAKER_02:

I thought that was I thought the headbutting of the official was crazy. I think it's funny, and it happens in all rivalry games because when you look on Twitter, you see all of everything. Michigan says the exact same thing about Ohio State. And they they talk about how Ohio State players headbutt while they're on the ground and things like that. It's hilarious.

SPEAKER_03:

These are these are the same people that, hey, are Connor Stallions, uh, you know, wannabes. So uh cheat to win, enjoy your cheating wins. Uh, we're going to go ahead and enjoy uh this wonderful victory. Yeah, it was a good win. Yeah. Uh for Ryan Day, it was a good win. Yeah, it was. Uh it was really good for him. I don't know if I still have this on here. I think I do. Fantastic. Shall I say it now? Lifetime contract. Yeah, I agree. He's elite. You realize that since uh since the last loss to Michigan last year, that team's 17-0. Yep. So uh, and as I said, um, I think I told you before the game. I I got with the Lord and I said You did tell me. I said, God, if you'll just allow Ohio State to win this game, I won't ask for anything else the rest of the year from a sports team. So if they lose to Indiana in the Big Ten Championship and they lose in the first round of the playoffs, hey, whatever. Playoffs.

SPEAKER_01:

Playoffs. All right, Chris. All right, let's go on to the other game. Just for the record, I just saw a picture. Where Ryan Day was meeting with uh Kentucky Deputy AD Mark Hill this afternoon. Seriously. So why would they be meeting?

SPEAKER_02:

Hmm. Shut up. I don't I don't think you gotta worry about that.

SPEAKER_01:

I'm nowhere near the crickets. Yeah. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I'm talking about Brian Hartline.

unknown:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

He is his OC up there. Anyway, let's go on to the other game. Oh, the other game. Yeah. The one that was a real blowout.

SPEAKER_02:

So now let's see, let's see how these stats compare. Yes. Okay. In this game, one team threw for 182 yards. One team threw for 100. Okay. The team that threw for 100 yards also rushed for 40. The team that threw for 182 rushed for 258. Wow. Sounds like a big thing. So the total yardage was 440 to 140.

SPEAKER_01:

How many times was the sacked between the two teams? Um one team's quarterback was sacked at least five times, I know of.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, it doesn't say on this. That was the blue one. Uh Kentucky ran the ball 26 times, averaged 1.5 yards of carry. Wow. Louisville ran the ball 50 times, averaged 5.2 yards a carry. Time of possessions was 36.28 to 2332. Yep.

SPEAKER_03:

It's it's pretty it's pretty close. And and that's a 41 to nothing game, right?

SPEAKER_02:

That's a 41 to nothing game.

SPEAKER_03:

That's a blowout. Stats are pretty doggone close. Um Ohio State slowed the ball down in the second half and took their receivers out of the game.

SPEAKER_02:

Well, their receivers had been hurt, so I get why they took them.

SPEAKER_03:

They took them out and they just said, you know what? They went on a 20-play drive where they ran the ball 16 times. Right.

SPEAKER_01:

Kentucky tries that two and they average one yard a carry.

SPEAKER_03:

So yeah, it's very similar. Yeah. So is this the end of the Mark Stoops era?

SPEAKER_02:

Well, I mean, I've told you I I I've said it before the season. I thought we would get to December one and he would not be the head coach. And I'm I still think that's the case. Yep. I look three weeks ago, yep, I would have told you differently. I agree. But how can you get annihilated by Vanderbilt? Run it back? Right. How can you get annihilated by Vanderbilt and then turn around and get annihilated by Louisville, who was using, who started a walk-on freshman running back from Ashland Paul Blazer.

SPEAKER_03:

Wow.

SPEAKER_02:

Uh and say we're gonna we're gonna keep working hard. Who Boyle County shut down last year, worse than Kentucky did this year. Who who how can you say how can you I know it's gonna cost a lot of money for him to be gone, but it's gonna cost a lot in ticket sales if he comes back.

SPEAKER_03:

That's true. That is true.

SPEAKER_02:

Uh Chris, you're a season ticket holder. What are your thoughts? As a I was talking about my rook.

SPEAKER_01:

As a uh as a longtime season ticket holder and a uh fellow.

SPEAKER_02:

He's a fellow.

SPEAKER_01:

I am a fellow.

SPEAKER_02:

Yep. I'm a fellow. I'm a per man. Oh different fellow.

SPEAKER_01:

I uh from a I've seen a lot of bad football boys. But I have to tell you, Mark Stoops gave me some good years of football. Sure he did. He gave me some good years in basketball. Coach Cal gave you good years in basketball, too. The definition of success is not what you did in the past. You were successful in the past. In the future is when you have success. And I don't believe that Mark Stoops can produce and create or have success in the future. So the answer is he has to go. Well, there you go. He was successful up until the last couple of years, but there is no future for success for him.

SPEAKER_03:

Of course, like this is some news story. Uh the Herald leader said today that uh Stoops says he will not leave. Zero. Zero percent chance. No kidding. Really? Yeah. That's like that's even why did we even have to write?

SPEAKER_01:

By the way, that's how many points he scored versus Louisville. Zero.

SPEAKER_03:

And that's how many millions of dollars would he leave on the table if he left? Give me a break. He's not going anywhere. No. No, that's why he's not. Yeah. I mean, obviously.

SPEAKER_02:

Well, we've talked about this before. Some of these offensive or some of these athletic directors are out of control. Yeah. And you can't give contracts like these to people.

SPEAKER_01:

But here's the problem I have with that. Where was Barnhart's oversight when this was happening? You know, you think about it. What do you mean? So Barnhart reports to Cappoluto and the board of directors. Do they give him free to go negotiate whatever he wants to do? Because they said Jimbo Fisher was the only other one that had a contract that was like this one. How'd that work out? Well, but here's my thing.$76 million. But but that's where I want to know where Barnhart's oversight is. So Barnhart's got to go. I think he is well past his prime as well. It's got to be a good one.

SPEAKER_02:

Well, he's been there since 2002. So he's been there 23 years. Time to move on.

SPEAKER_01:

The rumor is he's retired. But he also puts his own personal beliefs ahead of what's best for the university as well. He doesn't embrace change. He was successful. I don't believe he can have more success at Kentucky either.

SPEAKER_03:

Well, we're gonna see what happens in the next what 12 to 16 hours.

SPEAKER_02:

Well, I think that if Kentucky decides to make a move, and like I said, I think they will. I think they should have made it. I think you're behind the game. I think I think the coach that would have came here took another job today. And I've told you guys that for a long time. Yep. Uh and I think he'll be a fantastic coach. Um we'll see.

SPEAKER_03:

I mean I mean, I think that's where it's at. Um who is next on the wish list for UK?

SPEAKER_02:

Well, I mean we've talked about it here a little bit before. I think Will Stein's gotta be on the short list. Yep. Yeah, I mean, for Kentucky, the question is I mean, Mark Stoots was always a defensive guy. Do you get a defensive guy again or do you get an offensive guy? I think fans would prefer an offensive guy. Yep. I mean, the Hell Mummy years, Kentucky wasn't great, but they were fun to watch. Yeah, right. Sure. It was entertaining. It was fun. And you always knew you would score enough points to win. It was whether you could stop the other team. Sure. Yeah. Um I I think an offensive guy's the way to go. Uh whether that leads you to somebody like Will Stein, offensive coordinator to Oregon, Brian Hartline, offensive coordinator to Ohio State, Dan Mullen, head coach at UNLV. Yep. Uh, I like those options better than that's not an option.

SPEAKER_03:

So uh I think what you have to, you know, if if you're UK and you're looking to identify the face of the program, are you looking for an offensive guy, a defensive guy, or are you looking primarily for a recruiter, someone who can go out and bring in the city?

SPEAKER_02:

You gotta have that talent. You gotta have that. I mean and I I'm looking for uh if it's me, I'm looking for a young recruiter.

SPEAKER_03:

Yep. And that's Brian Hartline.

SPEAKER_02:

And and and and look, Kentucky's a stepping stone job. Let's just be honest about it. I mean, you go there and dominate at Kentucky, you do like Stoops did. Yeah, you you could have gone to Texas CM until something happened. Right. Or or like if let's let's assume it's Brian Hartline. Yeah, let's just assume that's who it is. Okay. And let's say he's there seven, eight years and then Ryan Day retires and he's done great at Kentucky, then he steps into that job.

SPEAKER_03:

Sure, of course. And the I don't want to see Brian Hartline go. Sure.

SPEAKER_02:

Um that you know, um I could see it being a job he would be interested in. Yeah. His brother's currently on staff in Kentucky.

SPEAKER_03:

And I mean, he is an elite recruiter. Look at the wide receiver room at Ohio State. He's been the wide receiver's coach coach going back to 2018, 2017. Look at the wide receivers they've produced. Every single one of them has been a number one pick. Even the one that couldn't start and left and went to Alabama, Jamison Williams, number one pick for the Detroit Lions, right? Chris Olave, Garrett Wilson, Emeka Abuka, Jackson Smith and Jigba, Jeremiah Smith, the best player in college football, Carnell Tate, who's going to be a first-round pick.

SPEAKER_01:

These are the people you went to school with. Absolutely.

SPEAKER_03:

Absolutely. Throw it out to the to the Walkers. So yeah, I mean, so that's that's really interesting. I think either of those guys would be uh a really solid.

SPEAKER_02:

I mean, I I think you I think you almost like uh Florida's coach, you get a young up and comer. I mean, Florida's not some Florida fans are not very happy with their coach. That's silly. But he's gonna do very well there. But well, I think he is too, but they see him as Billy Napier 2.0. Right. I I don't think so. No. Um, but but we'll see.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah. Somebody just said on Twitter, it says Lane Kiffin and Kim Mulkey are a lot of personality for Baton Reese.

SPEAKER_02:

That is a lot of personality for Baton Reeves.

SPEAKER_01:

You know, now let's talk about Lane Kiffin for a second.

SPEAKER_02:

Yep. He held everything up. We I mean, he was gonna go to LSU. LSU's a better job. Yep, probably. There's more pressure in that job than there is at Old Miss.

SPEAKER_03:

I think there's a word that they used a lot in the Sopranos that fits him. Gabagool. Not Gabagool. Oh.

SPEAKER_01:

Oh, I know the I know the word.

SPEAKER_03:

You can say it. It's not a good one.

SPEAKER_01:

I was thinking that I'm Chris.

SPEAKER_02:

Uh but if the rumors that have been on Twitter are accurate, yes, that he said, my offensive staff, if you're not on the plane, you don't have a job, things like that, then that's silly. This is awful. He's he's a coach that you love if he's your coach and you hate him if he's not.

SPEAKER_01:

Did you hear the rumor about the seven million for NIL for players? No. And LSU sent three planes in, and if you watch the videos, there are three planes there for him to take players that want to pack up and go today to go to LSU with him.

SPEAKER_03:

How does that even work? I mean, you you have to like get into the portal and stuff, right?

SPEAKER_02:

Well, you got they can get in the portal for 30 days.

SPEAKER_01:

Starting like Monday or something, like tomorrow, wouldn't it? Yeah, they can start tomorrow. So he could take them with him right now. Um He's trying to be Ed Orgeron. I brought up Ed Orgeron for a reason. Yeah. Didn't Ed coach at USC, Old Miss? Yeah, he had a lot of the same teams.

unknown:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah. I think it's crazy.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, it's like I asked Greg earlier when you weren't in here. What's Lane Kiffin really won, though, besides a lot of regular season games? He didn't won anything. Even at the Raiders.

SPEAKER_02:

He's won a lot of games, but nothing big.

SPEAKER_03:

No.

SPEAKER_02:

I agree. Ryan Silverfield is who Arkansas hired.

SPEAKER_03:

Oh, okay. They fired him on the tarmac at USC. I mean, you know.

SPEAKER_02:

And Old Miss hired their defensive coordinator.

SPEAKER_01:

Well, the good news is for Kiffin, his daughter doesn't have to travel to date the LSU boy now.

SPEAKER_02:

So let's let's talk about let's talk about this. Let's talk about the college football playoffs. All right. Okay. Teams that we know are in. Yep. Ohio State. No matter what happens this weekend, they're in. Yeah. Indiana. Same. No matter what happens, they're in.

SPEAKER_03:

They're the last two undefeated teams, right?

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah. Both those teams are in no matter what.

SPEAKER_03:

Yep.

SPEAKER_02:

Is Georgia in no matter what? I think so.

SPEAKER_03:

I think so too. Yeah, I think so.

SPEAKER_02:

So that's three. Yep. Who's the fourth one that's the automatic where it gets the bye? Um is it Texas? I think it's Texas Tech.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

Okay. This chart has, yeah, this chart has Ohio State one, Indiana two, Georgia three, Texas Tech four, those getting the buys.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, I agree with that.

SPEAKER_02:

Okay. Let's just assume for purposes of this conversation that Tulane gets the non-power five bid. Right. Because I think they're the best non-power five team.

SPEAKER_03:

Okay. So then you've got What about North Texas, by the way? Do they have a chance? I've heard things about them.

SPEAKER_02:

Uh I watched them play, they're pretty decent. Okay. So then we have one, two, three, four, five, six, seven at-large bids. Yep. Well, the ACC champions got to get in. Yes. So that's Virginia or Duke. Which is a joke. What a joke. Well, and that's what I texted you. I mean, yeah. Yeah. It's a joke. It's a joke. I mean, so some team that I think we would all say is more deserving is going to be out. 100%. Because the ACC sucks. Right. So let's just assume that's Virginia. Okay. I mean, because it doesn't matter. Rookie six. Whatever team that is, they're not getting to buy. They're going to be out. Right.

SPEAKER_03:

Okay.

SPEAKER_02:

Who are the other ones?

SPEAKER_03:

Notre Dame.

SPEAKER_02:

You think they're in? They're in. Yeah. What do you think? You think Notre Dame's in? Ten and two. Losses to Miami. First game of the season. Losses to Texas AM. And what else can I need those to get in the conference? I think they're fine where they're at. Texas AM. Texas AM's in. They're in. That's eight. They just lost their first game. They're in.

SPEAKER_03:

Oregon's in.

SPEAKER_02:

Oregon's in. I agree. Okay. That's nine.

SPEAKER_03:

Okay. So now we're down to three spots. We got three spots. So we're talking.

SPEAKER_02:

You're talking the teams you're still leaving at Alabama. Alabama's in Oklahoma's in that group.

SPEAKER_03:

Oklahoma.

SPEAKER_02:

Old Miss is in that group. Old Miss. Vanderbilt's in that group. Miami. Miami's in that group. BYU. BYU's in that group. Is there another Big Ten team in that group?

SPEAKER_03:

I don't think so. I mean you're getting three. Yeah, I think so. You know, if Michigan would have stunned the world one yesterday. Maybe. But but no. I don't think there's a prayer there. I think there's three. So you've got so we got 16 spots because Virginia is taking one of them. Or Duke, whoever wins that game. Now you could swap out Virginia if if Miami, if the if the ACC would be smart, they would just say, you know what? Miami's our champion. I test. Miami's the best team. They're the champs.

SPEAKER_02:

Right. Yeah, I agree.

SPEAKER_03:

Or they'd add one more game after the conference championship.

SPEAKER_02:

So we got we got Old Miss. We got uh Alabama, we got Vandy. Vandy. We got um Miami. BYU. BYU. What what three what three are you putting in?

SPEAKER_03:

That's uh there's one more out there, by the way. That we we mentioned. Texas. Texas.

SPEAKER_02:

Texas is getting a lot of talk. And that's 17. Texas in. I I do not think Texas is.

SPEAKER_03:

Texas doesn't make it just out of the the fact that what they got three losses. They got three losses.

SPEAKER_02:

I mean, they here's Texas's problem. Yeah. They're gonna say we scheduled a hard schedule. We went to Columbus first game of the year and got beat 14 cents. And I don't look, I got no problem with that. Yeah. Look. Don't have to go to overtime to beat Kentucky. Right. Don't struggle against Mississippi State. And damn sure don't let Florida beat you. To Florida. That's their problem. That's damning. I mean that's I can put I can get behind a three-loss team getting in.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

But that no, that's but you had three terrible games other than your three losses.

SPEAKER_03:

Right. Yeah. No. Look. Now if you're gonna I mean if we're gonna do that as our three loss test, let's look at Michigan. Well who did they lose to? Who did Michigan lose to?

SPEAKER_02:

They lost to the three good teams they played.

SPEAKER_03:

Oklahoma, Ohio State, and whoever the third one was. Uh who was their third team? Oregon.

SPEAKER_02:

Did Oregon beat them?

SPEAKER_03:

I can't remember who the third law was, but it was a good team. Yeah. Yeah. It wasn't Florida.

SPEAKER_02:

Right. Yeah. So, so, okay. Now I think Texas is out. Chris thinks Texas is in. I think Texas is out. Okay, let's talk about let's talk about ESPN's favorite because his ESPN thinks his mom's hot. Is Vanderbilt in?

SPEAKER_03:

I can't I can't see it.

SPEAKER_02:

Their two losses were to Alabama and to who else beat him?

SPEAKER_03:

Did Tennessee beat him?

SPEAKER_02:

No, they beat the crap out of Tennessee. Oh yeah, yeah, my bad. That was yesterday.

SPEAKER_03:

It was 45-12.

SPEAKER_02:

They beat the crap out of Tennessee this weekend. I know Alabama beat him. In in a in a pretty tight game. Yeah. And I'm going to get the other one right now. Okay.

SPEAKER_01:

Was it I'm trying to think if it was Since you're bringing about Pavium, he win the Heisman.

SPEAKER_03:

No.

SPEAKER_02:

No. Not even. Indiana Indiana's quarterback.

SPEAKER_03:

It's gonna be either it's gonna be who wins the game on Saturday. Texas beat Vanderbilt. So their two losses were Alabama and Texas. What was their best win?

SPEAKER_00:

Um Tennessee.

SPEAKER_02:

They LSU was ranked 10th at the time. They're terrible. Terrible. They beat Missouri, who didn't have Bo Prabula.

SPEAKER_03:

And Tennessee. I just don't see the resume.

SPEAKER_02:

I don't I if they get in, it's because of his mom.

SPEAKER_01:

That woman drives me crazy.

SPEAKER_02:

So not negative. I mean, she gets more camera time than anybody else.

SPEAKER_01:

But you don't she didn't during the Tennessee game. Did you notice that? I didn't watch either. They kept showing the crowd like they couldn't find them. It was funny.

SPEAKER_03:

Well, all right. So I think we can Vandy's out. I think Vandy's out also. What do you think?

SPEAKER_01:

I think Vandy's out.

SPEAKER_02:

All right. Now, the interesting case is Old Miss.

SPEAKER_03:

Yep. Uh, I think they're in. I think the they're playing their the coaching change you think they're in? I think I think you gotta set that stuff aside and say, are they playing their best football now?

SPEAKER_02:

And I think they are. Will they be I I mean, I I don't have any problem with Old Miss getting in. I mean Will they be paying their best football when they lose all these players? Correct. I mean that's right.

SPEAKER_03:

And do you punish the kids that stick around on that team for the actions of their coach?

SPEAKER_02:

Old Miss is 11-1 with their only loss being to the Georgia Bulldogs at Georgia 43-35.

SPEAKER_03:

I mean, they're they're in.

SPEAKER_01:

I think they're in. They're in. I think they're in. I think they're in. That's why Vanny's not in. You're gonna have too many teams in this.

SPEAKER_03:

I think you'd have a lot uh a lot more stringent argument for Alabama being out, frankly.

SPEAKER_02:

Well, let's let's talk. I mean, what about BYU? See, BYU's got one loss, right? I know Texas Tech beat them like a drum. They beat they did. And and they play Texas Tech again this week.

SPEAKER_03:

But they went up to Cincinnati last week, who's now in the middle of a four-game losing streak and just beat the pants off of Cincinnati. Ran it down their throats. Uh it's apples and dishwashers, though, when you're comparing BYU has lost is is 11 and 1. I mean, that's a one-loss team. I I think they have a really strong case, let's just say.

SPEAKER_02:

Now, if they lose so I I sent you a text asking you this. Yep. What impact does the conference championship games have?

SPEAKER_03:

I I think it I think it has one.

SPEAKER_02:

Okay, let's say let's say Georgia beats Alabama. Yep. Alabama would then have three losses.

SPEAKER_03:

I think you gotta at least think about it because who are those three losses? We know the first one, Florida State. Yeah, which was a terrible loss. The 13th ranked team in the ACC. Yeah, it was it was a terrible loss.

SPEAKER_02:

Terrible loss. Terrible loss. Um I'm getting their I'm getting their I'm getting their um losses right now.

SPEAKER_03:

They lost to Georgia. No, they beat Georgia. No, yeah, they beat Georgia, by the way.

SPEAKER_02:

It was another um doggone it. Okay, they got beat. Okay, they got beat by Oklahoma. That's it.

SPEAKER_03:

Oklahoma, yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

That's their two losses. Oklahoma and Florida State. Florida State. But now, for Alabama's sake, they got some really good wins. Yep. I mean, they've got wins over they got they beat Georgia in Athens. They do, yeah. They beat Vanderbilt, they beat Missouri, they beat Tennessee, they beat South Carolina, they beat LSU, they beat Auburn. I mean they struggled to beat Auburn. They did, they did. It was a it was a rough game. You know, um I just and that was I don't see I don't see them getting out of it. Mm-hmm. But with three losses, you're gonna say BYU's not in it, and Alabama is? Yeah.

SPEAKER_03:

So that's a that's gonna be a fun. That's gonna be a funny.

SPEAKER_02:

What about Miami? Not making their conference championship game.

SPEAKER_03:

I think that's that's a big deal. I'm sorry.

SPEAKER_01:

I mean sorry. I told you that reminds me of your mother, by the way. I'm sorry.

SPEAKER_03:

Sorry.

SPEAKER_01:

If you enjoyed it, Lane Kevin.

SPEAKER_02:

Look, now that's funny. That's funny. But I I told you, I thought a month into the season, Miami had a good argument to be the number one team in the country. Yep. Yep. And they've laid a couple eggs. Yep. Yep. Um, but I just I don't see.

SPEAKER_03:

I mean Louisville, I don't I Louisville went down there and beat the pants off of them.

SPEAKER_02:

And Louisville's well, they beat Kentucky to death, but they're not very good.

SPEAKER_03:

No, I mean, especially since you know who who beat Louisville last week? It was like some not this, not this week, but last week.

SPEAKER_02:

Everybody. Yeah, I mean Except Kentucky.

SPEAKER_03:

So, you know.

SPEAKER_02:

All right, so who are we putting in on in those three spots?

SPEAKER_03:

We're putting in Old Miss. Old Miss has got to have one. To me, Alabama. To me, BYU. And um, I would go with Alabama right now.

SPEAKER_02:

So we're kicking to the curb, Vandy, Texas, and yeah, Texas is out as far as I'm concerned. Vandy's out, and who's the other one we were kicking out?

SPEAKER_03:

Texas three losses without in the conference championship game.

SPEAKER_02:

What's the other one we're kicking out? Yeah. So that means the SEC would have five teams.

SPEAKER_03:

Yep. I think that's reasonable. Yeah, I think that's fine. So uh it's gonna be interesting to see.

SPEAKER_01:

I don't I don't want to interrupt, but you guys gotta hear this. Let's let's hear it. Kiffin wrote a letter to I haven't read it.

SPEAKER_02:

I saw it. I'm gonna read everything.

SPEAKER_01:

I'm gonna read this paragraph in the letter he wrote. I was hoping to complete a historic six-season run with the search team by leading Old Miss through the playoffs, capitalizing on the team's incredible success and their commitment to finish strong and investing everything into a playoff run with guardrails in place to protect the program in any areas of concern. My request to do so was denied by Keith Carter, despite the team also asking him to allow me to keep coaching them so that they could better maintain their high level of performance. Unfortunately, that means Friday's egg bowl is my last game coaching the Rebels. He's saying that uh without him coaching, the team won't be able to maintain their high level of performance.

SPEAKER_03:

He is something else.

SPEAKER_01:

Self-righteous?

SPEAKER_03:

Who's never won a thing? I'm sorry.

SPEAKER_01:

You're sorry? You hope you liked it.

SPEAKER_03:

I hope you liked it, Lane Kiffin. That's gonna be my new sentence. That's that's pretty funny. Yep. Well, that was a that was a fun discussion of college football. Anything else we want to bring up? John Cena losing to the Intercontinental Championship to Dirty Don.

SPEAKER_02:

Chris, you missed this last night.

SPEAKER_01:

I I saw the replay of it.

SPEAKER_02:

How uh how great was it? Uh uh they redid basically John Cena turning heel. It was pretty cool. I saw that. Yeah, it was it was pretty good. Yeah. Uh the look, it was not bad last night. Yeah. Um the worst, in my opinion, the worst match was the women's heavyweight title match. Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

I still hate Dirty Dom, by the way.

SPEAKER_02:

Dirty Dom, he's he moves the needle, dude. I can't stand that guy. He's I think technically he's not as good as his daddy, but he's he's he's hateable. He's he moves the needle.

SPEAKER_01:

He's he's hateable. Will he ever do you forever see him becoming babyface? No, he I don't either.

SPEAKER_03:

I think a lot of people like him because they hate him. Uh you know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_01:

I hated Eddie Guerrero.

SPEAKER_03:

I love Eddie Guerrero. I'm just saying. Look, I loved Rowdy Roddy Piper when he was a bad guy because he was so good at being bad.

SPEAKER_01:

I agree. I agree with that one.

SPEAKER_03:

I mean, Dirty Dom calls his his father, his actual father, a deadbeat dad. And he says he's not really my father. I think Eddie Guerrero was my father. Oh my gosh. I mean, come on. That's that's the only thing he's good at, though, in my humble opinion. He needs to get in shape too. Who you got winning the husband? Whoever wins the conference championship game between Ohio State and Indiana. Right now, the odds are the Indiana quarterback is plus one thirty or something like that, and Julian Sain is plus one fifty. So um, and then like Jeremiah is plus 500.

SPEAKER_02:

All right, what's your predictions for the game, the conference championship games this weekend? So we got let me get the lines. Oh done. Yep, hold, please. Hold. So conference championship games. Nobody cares about the ACC championship game. I'm taking Virginia. I don't care what the line is. Right. Um, because Duke's terrible.

SPEAKER_03:

I mean, Duke, didn't Duke like lose to Yukon or something.

SPEAKER_02:

Your your team, uh North Texas, they play two lane in the uh championship, and right now North Texas is favored by two and a half.

SPEAKER_03:

I think North Texas might get that spot. Yep, they could.

SPEAKER_02:

Yep.

SPEAKER_03:

And then they'll get pounded or something like that. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Okay. But their quarterback is legit, though. I did watch him play. He's he's pretty good.

SPEAKER_02:

Anyway, Georgia is a two and a half point favorite over Alabama. Georgia wins. Uh it's hard to beat, it's hard to beat team twice.

SPEAKER_03:

Twice. And Alabama, even though I picked them to win the Natty, I've watched them enough to know that I'm not scared of them. If Ohio State somehow gets to play them, I'll actually be very happy. I think Ohio State rolls them. It's not even close. I think the coach is not good. I don't think so.

SPEAKER_01:

I don't think he's good either. No.

SPEAKER_03:

I'm I would be way more concerned about any of those other SEC SEC teams that you mentioned than Alabama.

SPEAKER_02:

What do you think the Ohio State Indiana line is?

SPEAKER_03:

I would say since it's in India, it's in Indiana. I'd say it's Ohio State by five. What do you think?

SPEAKER_01:

So it's a neutral site. Yeah, it's in Indianapolis. Uh OSU six and a half.

SPEAKER_02:

You're five and a half. Okay. The over-under is 48 and a half.

SPEAKER_03:

I go over on that. Just because it's a dome.

SPEAKER_02:

Uh I think Indiana's going to score some pulling.

SPEAKER_03:

I think Indiana will score. I think Ohio State's defense is going to be by far the best that they've seen on. No question. And I think Ohio State's offense is going to score. So I go over on that. Uh by who wins the game? It's going to be a letdown for Ohio State. Let's just be honest here. I could see Indiana beating them.

SPEAKER_02:

I can't see it. So I can't see it. I think Ohio State wins. We'll see. What do you think? I think Ohio State wins. Yeah, me too. I agree. So who was I I'm doubling down. I'm confident it's Austin Theory.

SPEAKER_03:

I think you're right. Now that I've seen it.

SPEAKER_02:

I've been judging his comeback for a long time.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah. Yep.

SPEAKER_02:

The masked man.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah. Oh, that's what you think it is. Yeah, I think so.

SPEAKER_02:

And according to Twitter today, they're starting to work up WrestleMania to be an Cody Rhodes versus uh Roman Reigns number three.

SPEAKER_01:

Come on. Why?

SPEAKER_02:

I don't know. And then Braun Breaker and CM Punk.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, I could see that.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, but we don't need to redo number three. No. No. I mean, it's time for somebody else like LA Knight.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

Who who? I mean, the guy who should have. What did Big Jim do in war games that LA Knight couldn't have done? Uh, so what about what about Okay, something looking at something I want your opinion on since we're just hodgepodging a little wrestling here. Yep. About two months ago, Jay Uso comes out and says, I don't want to be known as an entrance man and and and all this kind of stuff. And I want to be known as a good wrestler, not just for my entrance and things like that. But in the daggone middle of war games last night, you wants to run it back so you can do your entrance again. What the what is that? I mean, really.

SPEAKER_03:

Old news.

SPEAKER_01:

Old guy. Move him on.

SPEAKER_03:

Um, yeah, weak.

SPEAKER_01:

He can't wrestle.

SPEAKER_03:

Oh, and he and he's fat. I'm sorry. He he's look, he needs to lay off the slip gems. Yeah. You know? Uh, yeah, he he needs some, what do you call that? Uh, Manjoro, a little wagovey. Gabba gool.

SPEAKER_02:

A little gabba gool. Are we all about some Christmas now? I mean, Thanksgiving's over.

SPEAKER_01:

We got another pod later this week because I want to do a Christmas peeve.

SPEAKER_02:

Are we gonna when are we gonna be able to go to Lyman and do it though? Well, that's look, it's almost here.

SPEAKER_03:

I think the 10th is when we'll do with producer melon. Uh the ninth is when the ninth. Yeah, we'll do it the ninth. We'll go to lime. Right.

SPEAKER_01:

Yep. Yeah, lyman. We don't know what to do with us being back. Big day.

SPEAKER_02:

You know?

SPEAKER_01:

Well, we'll have to bring all those papers, though.

SPEAKER_02:

Just in case in case. In case we get pulled over.

SPEAKER_01:

You better bring your passport too, just to be on the safe side.

SPEAKER_02:

Which one? I mean, it is an OHA. That's true.
