Jan 10, 2024 Season 2 Episode 2
Cindy Young

Cindy and this week’s guest, Felicity, discuss how great it is to study scriptures, and Felicity tells what she likes about the new study worksheets.

They give a very brief story overview of what happens in the 5 chapters of study for this week.

Cindy and Felicity read 1st Nephi 2: 12-17, with Cindy reading direct scriptural text, and then Felicity giving the modern-day version, which she reads from the free worksheet Cindy has created. Cindy asks Felicity what she learned from these verses, and they discuss how Nephi DID SOMETHING when he had a problem, how that’s an example we can follow, and they mark it in their scriptures. They discuss what it means to have a soft heart.

They look at two of the verses and find a connection between the two, and also an important connection to their own lives. Felicity and Cindy each tell of a time the Lord visited them.

Cindy and Felicity discuss the next study page of the worksheets which focuses on 1st Nephi 3: 1-7. Felicity has done the Memorization activity from the worksheet, and Cindy reads a quote about memorizing.

Together Cindy and Felicity find 3 action words in 1 Ne 3:4, and they discuss how they can apply these action words to their own lives.

Stay tuned for a few fun bloopers at the end.

Don't forget the parable of the snowball: listening to someone else talk about the gospel is like having snowballs thrown at you. Reading the scriptures is like making your own snowball. Taking the time to search, ponder, and pray about what you've read is like rolling the snowball around and around so that it grows and grows. So don't just listen to me - please go read for yourself so your knowledge and testimony can grow and grow!!
