Everything from organizing postgame beers to keeping the locker room positive, knowing when to chirp, and helping teammates feel like they're actually part of the group.
You don't have to be the best player. You don't even have to be particularly good at hockey. Sometimes the most valuable player is simply the one everybody notices when they aren't there.
