One day, a little girl named Astrid and her dog, breakfast Dog, were sitting at the table. Now they were eating breakfast. It was very delicious. She was munching into her cereal, but as she did, all of a sudden Breakfast Dog started to bark. What is it? What is it? She said. Breakfast Dog ran over to the cupboard and pushed it open, and inside the cupboard there was something that was moving. What is that? She said. Breakfast Dog ran over to the cupboard and pushed it open, and inside the cupboard there was something that was moving. What is that, said Astrid. She raced over to see. When she got there, she realised Is that a sword? Yes, it is, she said. There was some kind of magical sword inside the cupboard. Um, what is going on here? Then something very strange began to happen. The sword started to talk. Hello, my name is Super Sword and I'm very excited because today, astrid, you have been selected for the very exciting adventure. What said Astrid? Well, exciting adventure. What said Astrid? Well, said Super Sword. I am made to go on amazing adventures, but I can't do it all on my own. I need someone special to come with me, and today, that special person is you. Astrid was so excited. Hooray, let's go, she said. She raced into the other room to tell her mummy what had happened, and her mum was very excited as well. She came back in. Okay, super Sword, she said I'm ready to go. Well, first of all, every sword-wielding child needs a very special trusty steed. What do you mean Something to ride on? Said Super Sword. Um, I don't really have anything to ride on, said Astrid. Ruff said Breakfast Dog. Oh yes, said Super Sword, you will do perfectly, but it's better that we better be able to understand you. The sword started to wave around in circles and as it did, magical light started to come out of the handle. It started to twirl around and went straight towards Breakfast Dog. When it hit Breakfast Dog in the tummy. Hello, said Breakfast Dog, you can talk, said Astrid. Oh, I can talk, said the dog. Oh, this is so much fun. I want to be part of this. This is a ray. Breakfast Dog was very, very happy. Now we need to make you a little bit more like a trusty steed. Super Sword waved over the top of Breakfast Dog and as the sword waved, a saddle appeared and some reins. This is amazing. Astrid jumped on Breakfast Dog's back and held on to the reins and started to ride around the kitchen like a horse. It was very fun. All right time to head off. Astrid, can you take me by the handle? Okay, said Astrid. She grabbed the handle of the magical sword and as she did, she could feel the tingly special magic inside. Wow, she said. This is amazing. Now swirl me round in a circle. So Astrid started to swirl around and around and around and as she swirled, a magical portal opened up just in front of them. Ride through, said Supersword, and with that, breakfast dogs started to gallop straight through the portal. When they appeared on the other side, they were standing in front of a giant castle. Whoa, said Astrid. Look at the giant castle. That is amazing. I wonder who's inside. There is somebody that we need to rescue in there, said Supersword. Really, said Astrid, really, said Supersword. Just then they heard a very loud noise from overhead. What was that? Said Astrid as she looked up and she could see a dragon flying around the castle. That must be who we need to save whoever from. No, said Supersword. What do you mean? No, said Astrid. Yeah, what do you mean? No, said Breakfast Dog. With that, the dragon came flying down and landed right next to them. Hello, supersword. Hello, donald. Donald, said Astrid. Who's Donald? I'm Donald, said the dragon. Yes, donald is our very special friend. He's come to help us get inside the castle. Oh, really, said Astrid. Really, said Super Sword. Okay, donald, I'm so glad that you could meet us. It's time for us to head in. Hooray, said Donald. Um, what's your name, said Donald. Um, my name's Astrid, and this is Breakfast Dog. Yeah, I'm Breakfast Dog, said Breakfast Dog. Um, okay, well, let's work together. Um, okay, how are we going to do that? Wave me, said Supersword. So Astrid waved the Supersword towards the wall of the castle, and as she did, she could see some cracks starting to appear. Now it's my turn. Ha ha, ha ha, said Donald the Dragon, and dum, dum, dum, dum dum, donald started running straight towards the castle, and then, pffft, donald blasted straight through the outer wall. Let's go, said Donald. Hooray, said Astrid. Hooray, said Supersword, I'm coming too, said Breakfast Dog, racing in as Astrid was sitting on his back. As they raced inside the castle, what they saw inside was quite ridiculous. Um, what are all those things, said Astrid. They are the ones that are keeping our friend captive. What are they, though, said Astrid? She looked closely and the things in front of her kind of looked like. Are they ping pong balls? Said Astrid. I think so, said Donald, and one of the ping pong balls sat up and looked at them. How dare you break into our castle? You are in big trouble, screamed the ping pong ball. And as it screamed, all of a sudden all the other ping pong balls started to scream as well. As they started to scream, they all started to throw themselves towards Astrid. What do I do, said Astrid. Use me like a bat, screamed Supersword. Oh okay, so Astrid started to swing Supersword at the incoming ping pong balls. As one would come in, she'd smack it out of the way, would, scream the ping pong ball as it flew off into the distance. Then another Astrid kept hitting all the ping pong balls in all the different directions. It was actually very, very funny. Can I have a turn, said Donald. Um sure, said Astrid. Donald moved in front and as one of the ping pong balls were racing towards him, he swung his tail and the ping pong ball went sailing over the castle wall. It was actually very funny. The more the ping pong balls came, the more Astrid and Donald kept swinging and hitting them in all different directions. I'm Breakfast Dog and I want to play too. Breakfast Dog tried to catch one of the ping pong balls in his mouth. Let me go, screamed the little ping pong ball. Screamed breakfast dog trying to keep the ping pong ball in his mouth. But in no time at all, astrid and Donald had hit all the ping pong balls outside the castle. They were all on the outside now and Astrid and Donald were free to start moving towards the top of the castle. As they moved around inside, it was actually quite a funny looking castle. There were all kinds of very funny things inside Paintings of ping pong balls wearing funny wigs and awesome hats and all kinds of ridiculous things. There was even some kind of big spirally thing that went right down the middle of the entire castle kind of big spirally thing that went right down the middle of the entire castle. They worked their way all the way to the top and when they got there there was a room with a lock on the door. How do we get inside the room, said Astrid. Use the super sword, said super sword. So Astrid pointed super sword at the lock on the door and as she did, she felt a pulse of magic burst out into the lock. Click, click. The door unlocked and Astrid opened the door and inside was another ping pong ball. What said Astrid? You've saved me, said the ping pong ball. Hooray, why did we save a ping pong ball from a whole bunch of ping pong balls, said Astrid. Because, said Supersword, this is all a very big fun game. As she looked outside the window of the castle, she could see all the other ping pong balls outside. They were all cheering Hooray, hooray, hooray, hooray for Astrid, hooray, they were all so happy. What are you talking about, said Astrid. Well, said Supersword. We like to play this very fun game of castle towers. One of the ping pong balls gets to be the one to be saved and then all the other ping pong balls get to try and protect the castle from a very special friend, and today that friend is you and Donald. That's me. Ha ha ha ha, said Donald, don't forget about me. Breakfast Dog, said Breakfast Dog. Yes, and you. Breakfast Dog. All right, now it's time for us to get out of here. The very special way. What's the very special way? Said Astrid. Well, you know that spirally spinny thing in the middle of the castle. Yes, said Astrid, it's actually a super duper, speedy slide, really, said Astrid. Really said Supersword, come on, let's go. They walked over to the edge of the super speedy spiral slide and Astrid waved the magic sword at the top of the slide. When she did, a cushion appeared. That's for me, said Breakfast Dog. Breakfast Dog went over and sat on the cushion. Astrid was still sitting on his back and then he started to shuffle to the edge of the slide. Um, breakfast Dog, I don't know if this is a good idea. Astrid started to go down the slide. It was so fast and so much fun. When she got to the bottom, she popped out right through the hole in the middle of the castle. As she flew past, all the ping pong ball people were standing and waving boy Astrid, bye boy, thanks for coming, thanks for playing your game. They yelled. And as Astrid flew out of the castle, she flew back through the portal that she had made and back into her own kitchen. When she landed on the floor and started to look around, she was very, very surprised. Breakfast Dog was still wearing his saddle and his reins and all the things. She sat on him and rode him a few more times around the kitchen. She was laughing and enjoying the wonderful time as she was still riding around the kitchen. Her mummy came in and saw them galloping from table to bench and onto the couch, astrid, she said what are you doing? And where did Breakfast Dog get all those funny things?
