Pim Pim will love you for it
One day, a little boy named James was sitting at home. Now, he was doing some drawing. He really liked to draw. He'd been drawing all kinds of things for the afternoon, but as he was drawing, all of a sudden, he felt like he was being watched. He started to look around to try and work out what was going on, and when he looked around behind him, in the window was two chimpanzees.
James:Ah!
Sam:said James.
Chimp Brother 1:You're really good at that drawing,
Sam:said one of the chimpanzees.
Chimp Brother 2:Yeah, really good. Hey, you should try our very special Texta.
James:What?
Sam:said James, as he went over to the window. The chimpanzees passed through a Texta. He looked at it.
James:What colour is it?
Sam:said James. He couldn't tell because it seemed kind of almost see-through but sparkly on the inside at the same time.
Chimp Brother 2:Just try and see,
Sam:said one of the chimpanzees.
James:O-okay,
Sam:said James. So he took the Texta back over to his piece of paper and he started to draw. But for some reason, he couldn't see anything that he was drawing.
James:Um, I don't think it's working, Mr. Chimpanzee.
Chimp Brother 2:Oh, don't call me Mr. Chimpanzee. That's my dad's name.
Chimp Brother 1:Ha ha. Yeah, we're the Chimp Brothers.
Chimp Brother 2:Yeah. Pfflt!
Sam:said the Chimp Brothers.
James:Um, well, hi, Chimp Brothers, but your um your Texta doesn't seem to work.
Chimp Brother 1:Yes it do-oes.
James:No, no, it doesn't. I've I've been drawing on the paper and nothing's showing up.
Chimp Brother 1:That's coz our Texta is not made for paper.
James:What?
Sam:said James.
James:What's it made for then? Do I need a canvas?
Chimp Brother 1:No, not a canvas.
James:Um, well, what's it for?
Chimp Brother 1:It's for drawing on THINGS!
James:Um,
Sam:said James.
James:I don't think you're meant to draw on things.
Chimp Brother 1:Well, that's what this Texta is for. Ha, I'll show ya.
Sam:One of the Chimp Brothers climbed in through the window into the room where James was drawing.
Chimp Brother 1:Alright, pass me the Texta.
James:Okay,
Sam:said James. So the chimp took the Texta off him and looked at James' bed.
Chimp Brother 1:Hmm. That's a pretty cool bed, but I feel like it would be better as a race car.
James:What?
Sam:said James. The chimpanzee took the Texta and he drew wheels on the side of James' bed.
Chimp Brother 1:Alright, I think it's ready. Hang on, nah, it needs a steering wheel too.
Sam:So he drew a steering wheel on the front of the bed.
Chimp Brother 1:Alright, jump in.
James:What?
Sam:said James.
James:What is going on?
Chimp Brother 2:I'm coming,
Sam:said the other chimpanzee, climbing through the window. He jumped onto James' bed, and there were two chimpanzees sitting there.
Chimp Brother 1:Come on, James, let's go.
James:Go?
Sam:said James.
James:What do you mean go?
Chimp Brothers:Jump in!
Sam:they said. So James jumped into his bed as well.
James:This is very strange,
Sam:said James. Then the chimpanzee pressed a button that he had drawn on the side of James' car. Vroom br-br-br-br-br-broom!
James:Um, why's my bed making noise?
Chimp Brother 1:Because we turned it into a car with the Texta.
Chimp Brother 2:Ha ha yeah, let's go.
Sam:They started to drive.
Chimp Brother 2:Oh, hang on, I got this, bro.
Sam:One of the chimpanzees jumped out of the car, grabbed the Texta, and he drew a door in the side of James' wall.
James:Don't draw on the walls, I'll get in trouble,
Sam:said James.
Chimp Brother 2:It's okay, we need a hole in the wall.
James:A hole?
Sam:said James. With that, the door opened, and there was a big enough gap for the car to drive out.
James:What is going on?
Sam:said James.
Chimp Brother 1:I told you our Texta still worked.
James:Um, o-okay,
Sam:said James.
James:Hey, mummy moo, I think I'm going for a drive with some chimpanzees,
Sam:he called out. His mum stuck her head in the room.
James' mummy:Okay, James, have fun,
Sam:she said.
Chimp Brother 1:See ya!
Sam:Nyeow! The car drove straight out the door in the side of James' room.
James:How how did you do that?
Sam:said James.
Chimp Brother 1:I told you it's a special Texta. You can draw all kinds of things to make extra things add on to other things.
James:Uh, that sounds a little bit confusing,
Sam:said James.
Chimp Brother 2:Well, I think we better make this car a bit faster. Hang on, I'm gonna draw some racing stripes.
James:Um, what's that gonna do?
Chimp Brother 2:Oh, racing stripes always make cars go faster.
Sam:He drew two lines down the middle of James' bed, and all of a sudden- Mroooow! the car became a lot faster.
James:This is so much fun,
Sam:said James.
James:Can can I have a turn at driving?
Chimp Brother 2:Yeah, but uh, why don't you also have a turn at drawing?
James:Oh yeah,
Sam:said James.
Chimp Brother 2:Come on, let's make you a car. Have a look, see if there's anything you could see you think you could turn into a car.
Sam:James looked as they were driving along, and then he saw it.
James:That one, right there, stop!
Sam:Errrrrrr! The chimps stopped the car.
Chimp Brother 1:Haha, are you are you looking at that?
James:I am,
Sam:said James. Out the front of one of the houses was a rubbish bin.
James:Can I have the Texta, please?
Sam:said James.
Chimp Brother 2:Sure,
Sam:said one of the Chimp Brothers and threw it to him. He caught it and raced over to the rubbish bin. First of all, he drew some wheels on the other side. Then he added some controls on the front. And then he drew something very big at the back.
Chimp Brother 1:What's that?
Sam:said one of the Chimp Brothers.
James:You'll see,
Sam:said James. He climbed into the seat that he'd drawn on the rubbish bin, and then he pressed a button. PCCCCCCCCCHHHEW!
Chimp Brothers:Whoa!
Sam:said the Chimp Brothers.
Chimp Brother 1:Is that car rocket-powered?
James:It is, said James.
Chimp Brothers:Let's go,
Sam:said the Chimp Brothers. So the chimps stayed in James' bed and started to drive along the road, and James started to drive his new rocket-powered rubbish bin. Wsh-woosh nyeeeeeow mreeeow pwshh! As they raced off down the road, they were having so much fun.
James:What else could we do with this Texta?
Sam:said James.
James:There's so many things.
Chimp Brother 2:Throw it to me!
Sam:yelled one of the Chimp Brothers from the other car. So James threw the Texta across to them, and then they sped in front of James, and then he started dragging the Texta on the ground behind them.
James:What's he doing?
Sam:said James. Before he realised, James noticed that there was now a jump right in front of his rocket car.
James:What are you doing?
Sam:said James. The chimp quickly flicked the Texta over his head back to James. James caught it as his car lifted into the air.
Chimp Brother 2:Draw some wings!
Sam:yelled one of the Chimp Brothers. So James quickly drew wings on the side of his rubbish bin and-
James:I'm flying!
Sam:said James.
Chimp Brothers:Hooray!
Sam:yelled the Chimp Brothers.
Chimp Brother 1:Drop us the Texta, we'll come join ya.
James:Okay,
Sam:said James. So he carefully flew his car over the top of the bed that the Chimp Brothers were driving, and he dropped the Texta down to them. One of the Chimp Brothers caught it and began to draw.
James:What's he drawing?
Sam:thought James. As he watched, all of a sudden there was a giant set of propellers coming out the top of the bed.
Chimp Brother 1:I've turned it into a bedacopter.
Chimp Brother 2:Ha ha ha! Good one, bro. Pfflt!
Sam:The Chimp Brothers took control and the bed started to lift in the air like some kind of strange-looking helicopter. As they were flying around through the sky together, they were having a wonderful time.
Chimp Brother 1:Hey, what's that over there?
Sam:said one of the Chimp Brothers. They looked, and off in the distance they could see sirens and all kinds of things going on.
James:Let's go see,
Sam:said James.
James:Come on this way!
Sam:The Chimp Brothers and James flew their flying objects across the sky over towards where all the sirens were. When they arrived, they noticed there was a whole bunch of people standing and looking up at one of the buildings.
James:What's going on?
Sam:called James from his flying rubbish bin.
Bystander:Um,
Sam:said one of the people.
Bystander:Wha-what are you driving?
James:Oh, never mind,
Sam:said James.
James:What's happening here?
Bystander:Oh, well, that building, see, there's someone stuck up there. They they they were inside that room, but then all of a sudden the doors locked and nobody could get it from the inside, and now they can't get out.
James:Oh,
Sam:said James.
James:I wonder. Do you think we could help?
Chimp Brothers:Yeah!
Sam:said the Chimp Brothers.
Chimp Brother 2:Let's do it!
Sam:So they flew up to the window where the person was stuck inside.
Stuck person:Help! Help!
Sam:They were calling.
James:Don't worry,
Sam:said James.
James:We'll we'll get you out of there in no time.
Chimp Brother 1:What are you gonna draw, James?
James:Um, hang on, I think I need to do something else first.
Sam:He grabbed the Texta off one of the Chimp Brothers and he started drawing on his own back.
Chimp Brother 2:What are you drawing?
Sam:They realised what James had drawn when he lifted up out of the rubbish bin with a rocket pack on his back.
Chimp Brother 1:You've created a jet pack!
James:Yeah, and it's gonna help me float so that I can do better drawing.
Chimp Brother 2:Good idea.
Sam:James then started to draw something from the side of the building all the way down. He drew and he drew and he added all kinds of fun little details until-
Chimp Brother 1:Is that a slide?
Sam:said one of the Chimp Brothers.
James:Yeah, it's a wiggly swirly slide,
Sam:said James. They looked. It looked like so much fun. Then James drew a ladder down from the side as well. Then he went to the window where the person was stuck, and he drew a big circle. The circle opened up into a door.
James:Alright,
Sam:said James.
James:Do you want to be the first to try the slide?
Stuck person:You've saved me!
Sam:said the person inside.
James:Yeah, and now you get to try the slide. Come on!
Stuck person:Al-alright,
Sam:the person jumped into the slide. Whee! Zhoo! Wow! Nyah-way-yow! It was so much fun.
Chimp Brother 2:I want a turn of that,
Sam:said one of the Chimp Brothers. They quickly parked the bed down at the bottom and started to climb up the ladder. And they went down the slide as well.
Chimp Brothers:Yahoo, yeay, yow! Whoa! This is amazing!
James:Yeah!
Sam:said James.
James:My turn next.
Sam:He turned off his jetpack and jumped in the slide.
James:Wheyow!
Sam:All the people watching thought it looked like so much fun, they should join in as well. And there they were. James, the chimpanzees, and all the people climbing up the ladder, going down the wiggly slide right to the bottom and then going up once more. They had so much fun.
Chimp Brother 1:Hey, hey James, I think we've had a lot of fun. W-w-w-we better get you back to your place.
Chimp Brother 2:Yeah, and we need a quick way to get there. Hang on, I've got an idea. Hold still.
Sam:One of the chimpanzees grabbed the Texta and started drawing very, very quickly.
James:What is that?
Sam:said James.
Chimp Brother 2:I've made a people cannon.
James:A people cannon?
Sam:said James.
James:How does it work?
Chimp Brother 2:Um, well I don't really know. I just drew it, so let's try.
James:Um, I'm not sure that I want to try.
Chimp Brother 2:Yeah, you do. It'll be fun. Haha!
Sam:One of the Chimp Brothers picked up James and popped him inside the cannon.
Chimp Brother 1:Alright, James. Hey oh hang on, we better draw a helmet on him first.
Chimp Brother 2:Yeah, good idea.
Sam:They drew a helmet on James' head. Then they aimed the cannon.
Chimp Brother 1:I'm pretty sure his house is this way.
James:What? You're pretty sure?
Chimp Brother 1:Oh, actually make it very pretty sure.
James:That's not a good ratio.
Chimp Brother 1:Don't worry. Um yeah, it is this way. Hang on.
Sam:He twisted the cannon a tiny bit more.
Chimp Brother 1:Ready, ai- Oh, see you later, James.
James:Uh, bye!
Sam:he said.
Chimp Brother 1:Fire!
Sam:The cannon blasted him into the air. He went sailing through the sky.
James:This isn't the direction of my house!
Sam:he called.
James:Oh hang on, I've still got my jet pack.
Sam:So he turned his jet pack on and he waved to the chimpanzees as he blasted all the way back home. As he flew down and landed in his front yard, his mum was there waiting.
James' mummy:Um, James,
Sam:she said,
James' mummy:how did you fly in and where did you get that jet pack from?
James:Well,
Sam:said James,
James:I don't think you'd believe me, even if I told you.
Sam:And that is the end of the story.
Chimp Brother 2:This episode is brought to you by Chimp Brother Te- Hey bro, where did we get this Texta?
Chimp Brother 1:Oh, I can't remember.
Chimp Brother 2:Um, well, how are we gonna sell them if we can't remember where we got them?
Chimp Brother 1:Uh, I don't know.
Chimp Brother 2:Uh, maybe we'll draw some more of them?
Chimp Brother 1:Yeah, good idea. Alright, we'll draw some more and we'll get back to you. But in the meantime, we hope you're enjoying Silly Stories for Kids. This has been us, the Chimp Brothers.
Chimp Brother 2:Yeah. Pfflt!
Sam:And me, Sam. We'll see you soon!
