Meeting Pim Pim And Teddy Winkle

One day, two little kids named Elliot and Isaac were outside playing in the snow. Now, they had been making a snowman for a little while and it had been lots and lots of fun. But as they were continuing to work on it, all of a sudden, the snow just near them began to move.

Isaac 1:20

Um, Elliot, w-what's going on?

Elliot 1:23

Uh, I-I don't know. Uh, i-it seems to be- it seems to be rumbling.

Sam 1:28

All of a sudden, through the snow popped up a purple fuzzy hand. Then a teddy bear popped up as well. Then a purple fuzzy creature popped through.

Pim Pim 1:37

Um, Teddy Winkle, this does not look like China.

Discovering Sledding

Teddy Winkle 1:41

No! I told you that digging straight down wouldn't get us to China.

Pim Pim 1:45

Well, where are we? It's very cold here.

Sam 1:48

The kids were sitting and watching as the two climbed out of a hole in the ground.

Elliot 1:53

Um, excuse me,

said Elliot.

W-what are you doing?

Pim Pim 1:58

Well, we were trying to dig from Australia through to China, but that whole thing of like digging straight down, it did not get us there. It's got us here. W-where is here?

Um, you're in Canada,

Teddy Winkle 2:11

What? Canada? Well, that's fun. I've always wanted to go to Canada.

Pim Pim 2:16

Yes, me too. It is very exciting.

said Pim Pim to the boys.

Um, well, you could go sledding?

Pim Pim 2:52

Sledding? That sounds like fun. Uh... what is it?

The Lawnmower Motor Idea

No, I have actually never seen snow.

You-you've never seen snow?

Teddy Winkle 3:05

Nah, it doesn't really snow where we live.

Isaac and Elliot 3:08

Wow,

said the boys.

Well, sledding is when you get a sled.

Mm, yes?

And then you go down a hill on it.

Pim Pim 3:16

Okay, that sounds amazing. Now, what is a sled?

Isaac and Elliot 3:20

Oh dear,

Sam 3:21

said the boys.

Isaac 3:22

Maybe we'll just go get ours and we'll show you.

Teddy Winkle 3:24

Hooray!

Sam 3:25

said Teddy Winkle. So the boys went inside and grabbed their sleds and brought them back outside. Pim Pim and Teddy Winkle looked at them carefully.

Pim Pim 3:32

Where's the motor?

Sam 3:33

said Pim Pim.

Elliot 3:34

They don't have a motor,

said Elliot.

Pim Pim 3:37

Why not?

said Pim Pim.

I don't know,

said Isaac.

They just don't.

Could they have a motor?

I think it definitely needs a motor. Okay, let's go get the motor for it.

Where are we gonna get a motor?

Well, do you have a lawnmower?

Let's go get it.

So they all raced towards the garage and they found the lawnmower. And then Pim Pim started to pull it apart.

Pim Pim 4:04

Ooh, if I take this bit here and this bit.

Teddy Winkle 4:06

Oh yeah, you need that bit too,

Sam 4:08

said Teddy Winkle.

Pim Pim 4:09

Oh yes, and then we'll grab this bit, oh yes, and- oh, I need that chain just there. Okay, you boys hold this!

Sam 4:14

Pim Pim started throwing bits and pieces of the mower towards the boys. They caught them all.

Isaac 4:19

Um, that's gonna make the mower not work anymore,

Sam 4:22

said Isaac.

Pim Pim 4:23

That's okay. Do you need to mow snow?

Isaac and Elliot 4:26

N-no,

Sam 4:26

said the boys.

Pim Pim 4:27

Okay, well then you don't need the lawnmower.

Isaac and Elliot 4:29

It doesn't always snow!

Sam 4:30

said the boys.

Pim Pim 4:31

Oh, uh, well, maybe we will have to fix it later. But for now, let's attach the motor to the sled!

Teddy Winkle 4:38

Hooray!

Sam 4:39

said Teddy Winkle. Isaac and Elliot helped carry the motor outside, and they put it on the back of one of the sleds.

Pim Pim 4:45

Okay, and now we'll get this bit, and we'll attach it to this, and then... oh yes, we can use that part there to be the flippy bit.

Isaac 4:52

The flippy bit?

Sam 4:53

said Isaac.

Pim Pim 4:54

Yes, you need the flippy bit to flip the snow to make it go fast. Okay.

First Wild Ride

Sam 4:58

So, in no time at all, Pim Pim, Teddy Winkle, and the boys had created a new type of sled with a very funny-looking motor. It looked rather... ridiculous as they stood back and admired their handiwork.

Pim Pim 5:10

Okay, it is time to go on an adventure. Okay, you boys go ask your mummy and daddy if you can come, and then we will go.

Isaac and Elliot 5:17

O-okay,

Sam 5:18

said the boys. So, they quickly raced inside.

Um, mum,

said Elliot,

do you mind if we go on a sled adventure with a teddy bear and a purple fuzzy creature?

No, I am the driver, because I thought of putting the motor mower on the back and then making it do the flippy thing.

Nyaw, okay, you can start.

The Big Snow Pile Jump

he said. So, Isaac, Elliot, Teddy Winkle, and Pim Pim all climbed on the sled, with the very silly-looking motor on the back.

said Pim Pim.

Pim Pim 6:05

Hold on!

And then he pulled the cord to start the mower. Br-br-br-br-br-br-br-br-br-brum!

Here we go!

Vroom! With that, the sled took off down the street.

Whaaaaaaaaa!

screamed Teddy Winkle.

Pim Pim! It's too fast!

What's that? You want me to go faster? Okay!

Sam 6:22

said Pim Pim.

Vrowhaaa! They zoomed so so quick. They started weaving in and out of houses.

Pim Pim 6:29

I wonder if I can get through people's front yards!

Teddy Winkle 6:32

No, Pim Pim, no!

Sam 6:33

Pim Pim started driving the sled into people's front yards, doing laps around their gardens and then going back out again.

Isaac 6:39

This is amazing!

called out Isaac.

Elliot 6:42

Maybe we should keep the motor on it for- for the whole of winter,

Pim Pim looked forward and there was a giant pile of snow that had all been pushed into one place by a snowplough.

yelled Teddy Winkle.

Isaac and Elliot 7:09

said Pim Pim. Vroom! The sled took off into the air. They were sailing high above the houses.

Pim Pim! How are you gonna land this thing?

What do you mean, uh-oh?

said the boys.

Well I didn't think about the landing, I just thought about the flying.

said the boys. Mrowaaaaaaaaaowwwwpfft! The sled, fortunately, landed in another giant pile of snow. And from the bottom they all started to climb back out. Spl-squ-squ-plft!

Snowplough Wheels On The Sled

But we cannot let them just do the boring driving.

Yes, we need to make the driving for them a lot more fun.

With that, Pim Pim started to look around to see what he could find to add to their sled. When he looked, he noticed that the snowplough that had made the giant mound of snow that they had flown off earlier was actually parked right next to where they had landed. It must have made the second pile for them to land in as well.

said Pim Pim.

Teddy Winkle 9:01

That's never a good thing!

said Teddy Winkle.

Well, I think that we should take some parts off the snowplough and we should add it to our sled.

Yes, I see those giant big wheels, and I think maybe a sled with giant big wheels could also be fun.

Well, if it has wheels, it's not really a sled anymore,

Well, it is a sled if we put the sled bits on the bottom of the wheels.

said Teddy Winkle. They walked over to the snowplough and started looking at it.

Um, but if we take the wheels off the snowplough, the snowplough won't be able to work.

Just then, the man who owned the snowplough walked out.

Did you say you want my wheels?

Sam 9:50

he said.

Uuum, maybe?

said Pim Pim.

Well, I was actually about to put some new wheels on this one, so you can have the ones that are on it.

He helped them get the wheels off his snowplough and put them on the sled. Then they got the sled bits and put them on the bottom of the wheels. It looked quite ridiculous.

Okay, boys, let's see what it does!

So, they climbed up on top of their new sled that was now very, very high up in the air, and Isaac took control of the sled.

Pim Pim 10:22

Okay, Isaac, remember you are just learning, so the best thing to do is to go as fast as you possibly can.

Plowing The Streets For Real

said Teddy Winkle.

said Isaac. Elliot and Isaac swapped positions, and Elliot took control of the new sled. He had an idea.

I wonder if it can go over bigger things now coz it's so high up in the air.

You should definitely not try. Actually, this is lots of fun. Yeah, try it!

Elliot started to drive over big lumps and bumps. The snow was no match for their new sled high up in the air on the wheels of a snowplough.

Snowplough owner 11:34

Hey, kids, come back here!

Sam 11:36

yelled the snowplough man.

Snowplough owner 11:37

Why don't you chuck this on the front as well?

Sam 11:39

He brought out a funny-looking snowplough, and he attached it to the front of the kids' sled.

Teddy Winkle 11:45

Alright, here we go!

Sam 11:46

said Teddy Winkle.

Elliot 11:47

I've got this!

Sam 11:48

said Elliot. And they started flying down the street. They were actually helping. They were clearing all the snow off the roads, three times as fast as the normal snowplough could do.

Snowplough owner 11:57

This is amazing!

Sam 11:58

yelled the snowplough man.

Isaac and Elliot 12:00

This is so much fun!

yelled out Elliot and Isaac.

Pim Pim 12:03

I am having the best time ever!

said Pim Pim, as he continued to wobble the sled from side to side. It meant that the snow on the road ended up with a slight bumpy pattern, which was actually pretty funny to watch cars try and drive over.

Pim Pim 12:15

Okay, I think we have done enough of the snow ploughing now. Let's go back to your house.

Sam 12:20

As the kids, Teddy Winkle and Pim Pim flew back into the driveway, Elliot was very careful to make sure that he cleared all the snow out of their driveway so it was nice and clear for his parents. As they climbed off the sled and went towards the door, Teddy Winkle and Pim Pim also climbed off.

Teddy Winkle 12:36

Alright, Pim Pim, we better go back down this hole and head back to Australia.

Pim Pim 12:39

Do you think if we go halfway and then dig sideways, we might end up in China?

Teddy Winkle 12:43

I dunno. Let's try! See ya!

Sam 12:46

said Teddy Winkle, as Pim Pim and Teddy Winkle dove back down the hole. The kids went back to their front door, and when they opened it, their parents looked outside.

Mum 12:54

Wow, kids, how did you get the driveway so clean? I-it looks amazing!

Isaac 12:59

Well,

Sam 13:00

said Isaac,

I don't think you'd believe us, even if we told you.
