J.K.O.L.: Just Keep on Living

Just Keep On Living: Show Introduction

Candace G Season 1 Episode 1

Imagine a childhood memory that carries one golden piece of wisdom. That's what happened to me, Candace G, when an elder in my church said, "Just keep on living, Baby." This advice, simple yet powerful, has resonated with me throughout my life's journey, inspiring the inception of this podcast, aptly titled 'Just Keep On Living'. Here, we will discuss different life experiences while sharing nuggets of wisdom to help you navigate the roller coaster of life.

As we embark on this journey together, our next episode will be about life and its trials. In the wise words of Maya Angelou, "Every storm runs out of rain". Through this platform, I wish to remind you that even the fiercest storms lead to unexpected blessings. So, whether you're struggling to take the next step, feeling stagnant, or you're on a roll, remember to 'just keep on living'. Candace G:

Hey, hey, it's Candace G from BMT Land of the Trill, and if you know, you know what's next. Tell me how you feel. And I decided to hop on the mic and talk a little bit. Is that all right? All right, welcome to Just Keep On Living, where the purpose of this show is to talk about life, to inspire and encourage one another. Today, I'll be giving a brief description of my show.

Candace G:

I remember a beautiful Sunday in my childhood church. The sun was shining through the colored glass and I was skipping through the pews. Running was not allowed. One might be fortunate enough to get the stare, other times not so fortunate. I feel like I grew up in the last old school era. But anyway, I digress.

Candace G:

An elder of the church. She stuck her hand out to stop me. She said baby, you are so beautiful and I want you to remember to just keep on living baby. I smiled and nodded my head and said, "es ma'am, and rushed to the back of the church because we had a guest church and they were serving dinner. So that was my focus.

Candace G:

However, now I understand exactly what she meant and I would like to go back in time and ask for a little bit more advice with that loaded phrase. This podcast, it was inspired by life. I have lived through, I've learned a lot along the way and I do not want to leave the earth with the knowledge that I've acquired. So if my podcast helps one person, then the purpose of my show has been fulfilled. The intro of my name is the way it is, because I come from a city that has a history of successful African American people, whether they're entrepreneurs, doctors, lawyers, et cetera. And somewhere along the way I'm having a hard time recognizing the city that I grew up in. From reading the news stories that I've read now and over the years its disheartening, and I know the city that I grew up in is much better than that. There's so many successful people that come from the Golden Triangle.

Candace G:

The format of my show is the way it is, it's not typical, which is fitting. I miss when you can count on that 30-second music intro just enough time for the beat to settle in and don't let the lyrics fool around and be fire. And then the music videos that came with songs. God forbid, you missed the world premiere. Everybody was talking about you the next day. But anyway, let me get off my soapbox. I hope you tune into the next episode.

Candace G:

The topic will be about life. Whether you're putting one foot in front of the other, one elbow in front of the other, or Jesus is carrying you, just keep on living, keep going, keep pressing forward. As Maya Angelou once said, every storm runs out of rain, and I don't know about you, but for me, after each storm, the blessings that were on the other side were unfathomable. God allowed things to happen in such a way that I knew was only Him, and if he did it for me, my brothers and sisters, he can do it for you.
