What are you looking to when life feels uncertain or overwhelming? What we choose to focus on matters. This Sunday, Rev. Dr. Paul Cunningham begins a new four week sermon series through the book of Nehemiah, exploring what it means to be a people who look to God as we make our way through life. The series begins with Look Up, based on Nehemiah 1:1–11. When Nehemiah receives heartbreaking news about Jerusalem, his first response is to turn to God. He mourns, fasts, and prays, reminding us that before we make plans or take action, we are invited to seek the Lord first. Join us this Sunday as we explore the importance of spending time with God and learning to look up.

Sermon Questions:

1. Is there something in your life you are trying to “fix” before you have brought it to God?

2. How can you realistically “find a place” and “make some space” this week to simply be with God?

We want to connect with you! Email Pastor Chad at chadf@ljpres.org to get plugged in, or you can find our website at ljpres.org/connect. We hope to see lives transformed by a relationship with Jesus, and we strive to be a place where you experience and are able to express that transforming love of Christ.

It builds our faith to help give back a portion of what God has given us. If you would like to help further His work in La Jolla, San Diego and the world you can give online at LJPres.org/Donate.
