Idaho's Workforce Development with Wendi Secrist

Wendi Secrist is the executive director of the Idaho Workforce Development Council and came in to speak on Idaho’s workforce needs. There are large concerns in this state about employment, cost of living, and the future of our children, but Wendi came in with a different view. We also have many, many employers that are looking for skilled, high quality labor to engage in fundamental industries, and they’re willing to pay good money. The trick? We need to connect the youth and under employed with the training, education, and industries that can help build a brighter more prosperous future of tomorrow in Idaho.

It’s also home to many law enforcement agencies, like Ada County and Canyon county Sheriff offices, Idaho State Police, Eagle Police Department, Meridian Police Department, and many more. The school systems in the area are also quite diverse. Boise school district and West Ada School District, though right next to each other, are quite different. Ada County is also home to our state capital and many of our elected officials.
