We hope you expand your heart and mind. And. Create the shift with us. So unplugged from the matrix and let's dive into this. Welcome back to the magical midlife crisis podcast. This is court and this is Meg and we have an amazing guest, a sideline sister of ours from our company. This is Yasmin and you're going to have to say your last name for us because that's a special one. Yasmin. Yasmin. Yasmin.

Yas:

Yeah, it's Yasmin Abdelhadi. Not that hard. Dash Chozo if you're going to add the Mary name.

Which, yeah, you have to update your, all of your things because I know. A very new addition. The least favorite part. Are you hyphenating it?

Yas:

Uh, I'm thinking about hyphenating it. Cool. Yeah. Keep my, keep my personal identity.

That's awesome. Um, so Yasmin and I, this is Cora, by the way, uh, we, we met each other. I actually had to look back before we brought you on. It was January of 2022 is when we started talking when I led the, the leadership in the big, um, global group for our 30 days to healthy living. And, um, I, you were just so engaged with me and I was just like loving your energy. And I, I, I don't remember who messaged who first, but then I started like following you and everything you posted was just like in pure alignment of like my newer awakening of self. And so that kind of like lines us up perfectly because when it comes to the magical midlife crisis, it has to do with that awakening out of conformity. And so what we like to do with all of our guests, especially our first guests of our of our second season, which you are, um, it's, it's always great to hear like the story from your perspective. Cause for Meg and I, we've talked about ours, our layers of it. Cause it's not just like one thing, but a lot of the times one massive thing. And I just want to, you know, highlight like today is October 22nd. It's my brother's. Deathiversary we call it in my family and he was like the loss of him from the physical earth was my greatest awakening for that time of my life 13 years ago, and that just put me on a path of just Finding the truest most beautiful life that we all dream of and then we actually can create So that's what I think brought me to this amazing opportunity of having a business with the company that we do. And then meeting just amazing people to show me what's possible because you had been walking the path longer than I had. And so you became such a, such an influence to me in such a really positive way. So I'd love to hear your take on your magical midlife crisis awakening.

Yas:

I love that. Um, thank you so much for it Meg, for having me on. Um, and for the feeling is mutual. Um, I just love your soul and just everything about you. Um, so I guess I'll like bring it back because I'll just be transparent. I am in my mid to late thirties. So 38 to be exact. Um, and so with that being said, age is just a number, but it also is experience. If you use it to your advantage. Um, so I've been in the health and wellness business with Court and Meg, um, for quite some time, but I have been doing it for, for over nine years, nine years, and I am, I have this career as a physical therapist, and I always, in the back of my mind, always knew that I wanted more in life. Um, I had not had great circumstances growing up, um, and I just always had the drive to say I'll, I'll never struggle the way that my parents did, like never put my kids in a situation that they put us in. Um, and so I guess my midlife awakening started, I guess, in my early twenties, because I always worked hard, um, to have quote unquote success. But then that shifted as to what success really meant. So nine years ago, I was introduced to the health and wellness business. It really opened up my eyes to say, think outside the box. What do you want your life to actually look like? What actually brings you joy? What do you really want to do with your time? What's like, think, get the Lulu with it and like really think bigger than what you're thinking right now. Like it doesn't have to be like, I'm just surviving. You can really thrive on your, you know, with this time on this planet. And so I started this business. It opened my options. It opened time flexibility for me. I have more choices. I pursued other passions. I, I got other certifications. I love to learn but I also was on my own personal healing journey. And so I guess my midlife shift was right like you can't lead unless you lead yourself. Right. And so I Really, you know, I've always worked hard in life, but they didn't teach you in school how powerful we all are, right? They didn't teach you that if you rewire what you're saying to yourself on a regular basis, and if you do the personal growth and not just listen to the podcast and read the books, but actually apply them to your life, Like, you can change the trajectory of your life and then have the ripple effect on others and then change generations to come.

And

Yas:

that's pretty powerful when you have that perspective. So that's, I guess the, the awakening was really starting this business and then diving into the personal growth and then understanding, like I was way more powerful than I was showing up as. And still, like, you know, don't get me wrong, I'm not like this multi billionaire, right, and not that money is definition of success, but I have a lot of, a lot more to do in this world than just go to my job, come home, make dinner, and then start the day all over again the next day. You know, like, that's not, that's not what defines life. Um, so yeah, so that's. When you do the personal growth, you change the lens that you see the world through. And so when you're able to shift how you see the world, then opportunities come, choices become available. Just you dream bigger and then you understand like you're, you're here for such a time as like right now. Um, and like live, live on purpose. Like don't just go through the motions. I don't know if that answered your question. It does. It does. It does.

And something you, I remember you telling me when we first started talking about, and I fully align with, cause it was kind of newer to me when you mentioned this, like ending generational patterns and trauma, cause I was still newer in like the self improvement and development space. So I didn't quite realize how I was repeating patterns of, of generational behavior. That was literally sabotaging my life and people around me. So when you said that, it definitely stuck out to me. And Meg and I talk about that all the time now, cause we truly feel like we all follow Ed Milette and. When he, um, when he came and talked to our company, um, at our global training conference, it, it, there was that point where he just, and he says this all the time now, but it was the first time I heard him say it and it was in person. So it was really impactful. It's like, you're the one, you're the one. And. You know, he knows his audience, you know, the people that are, and a lot of these like high level thinkers and high level value speakers, they really know that we are the ones that are going to shift that generational pattern, because that's all that it is like trauma is coming from it but it's a pattern it's a behavior. Right. I've been following a lot of, um, oh gosh, um, Bob Proctor and he talks about like, there's like two ways to really shift. the beliefs, the belief system, which he calls a paradigm, which I've heard that word, but I kind of didn't know what it means, but it's like a collection of beliefs and, and, um, insights and just ideas that you have. And it's either, um, it's either one of two things, uh, emotional impact. So something that emotionally jars your whole thinking system, and that's what I feel what happened for me when my brother died. Um, and or, it's the power of repetition. And like, that's how we have come to have the thoughts and beliefs that we have. It was the power of repetition, you know, our parents telling us one thing or saying one thing over and us believing it. Um, and so it's like, We don't realize that we are basically having to take that responsibility of repeating something differently and exactly what you said about how you're speaking to yourself, what you're allowing into your ears, like who you're surrounding yourself with. And that I think what the power of our community. In our health and wellness business and the power of like that mind body connection, it's like the mind to our body, but then to human to human, you know, mind, body connection to that, I feel like it's just so incredibly underrated. With this very fast digital world that we're living in. I'm super grateful. I mean, you live in where you live in New Jersey. Yeah. And we're in Chicago, like outside and we get to be connected. We get to like see each other's faces and at least swirl enough in this energy that it feels like as good as it can. And then, but at the same time. It's so, um, we allow it to be so disconnecting. So, um, I like, when did you first start to become aware of that? generational pattern that you knew you were the one to shape it?

Yas:

Yeah, I would say starting this business because this, this was totally outside my comfort zone. Like I did not grow up in an environment like I started my business 10 years ago and now everything's online and zoom, you know, all of that stuff. Um, but I started when it was, you're doing two to four in person presentations and that's how you launch your business. And I remember exactly like the feeling I signed up to do the business and I had, I literally said five, four, three, two, one, like, let me sign up right now because I know if I walk out of this room, I will change my mind. I will find every excuse because I was limited by money. I was limited that I will not get this money back if I invest this amount in buying some products and not that it was like crazy, but at the time for me, it was outside of my comfort zone, even to do this business to begin with. Second, it was. I had to invite people into my home and I had to like have a, my friend Alicia at the time, but also like another woman who was going to come and like mentor me and like start the presentation. I was like, well, what the fuck did I just start? Right. This is not something that I grew up doing. My mom has social anxiety. There was nobody like just dropping by my house. So that right there. The moment that I started this business, it was totally outside my comfort zone. So many people judged me. So many people stopped talking to me. So many people like had negative things to say. Friendships that changed like so much. So, but through all of that, I realized the generational stuff that was holding me back was just the stories that I was replaying in my mind, right? The excuses were, were BS. They were just repetitions of what I had been told over time, little yas, like what she was hearing growing up. And then it kept repeating as I started this business. So I started this. Totally outside my comfort zone. But then I was also told, in order to grow this business, you have to, you have to grow as a person. And so, I did not, I wasn't also a reader. Like, when I was younger, I'm like a science brain. So, for me to like, pick up a read, a book to read, for recreation, that was a chore. Now I'm reading, I'm connecting with people, I'm having them come into my space, all challenge the norm for me. And then as I dove into personal growth, and I like, like I mentioned earlier, right, like I love to learn. And I just became fascinated by like, wow, like, I made all these decisions. Right? Like I, I pushed myself through school, straight A's, on a roll, blah, blah, blah, blah, all this stuff that society and my parents told me, like, that's what you need to do to have a good life. And all of that structure was breaking down. And so, personal growth, rewriting what actual, like, life I wanted it to look like. And then connecting with people and allowing myself to be vulnerable and actually tell people like how I was feeling what I had been through. Um, that's where I was like, all right, like I have a lot of work to do. Um, and I still have so much work to do, but. Like I'm enjoying the journey and like practicing gratitude along the way, because that's where we're all here, right? Like we're just human beings. We are just here for a short amount of time, having this human experience and whatever's supposed to happen. So my soul is experiencing this right now. Um, and we'll see, we'll see what the next, you know, the next chapter brings, but that's. That's where it came to mind. Like when I first started this business, I was like, wow, like, I really, like, if I want the big life that I want, like, I have to really step outside my comfort zone,

relating, relating to every single thing. I have a lot, like, it's so weird. Oh, during your beginning of your journey, did you have like an aha moment when you were diving into self development connecting it out? Did you have like an aha moment where like, Oh my god, everything that I'm doing and all the intention that I'm putting in to do like It's working. Did you have a moment like that?

Yas:

Yeah. So I would say when I first started, um, I had promoted to the first level of management rather quickly. And then I promoted to the second level of management fairly quickly. Also like eight months after I started my business. Um, so I was no stranger to working hard, but the, the magic piece that I needed to shift was I really needed to work on how I was connecting with people. Like I was doing an exchange, right? Like I wanted something from the other person and I no longer operate like that. Like I'm not here to just get a sale. I'm not just here to like have you in my web stats. Like I'm here to actually like have a connection with you. understand where you're at, help you on a deeper level. It's not just about my business. Like I have a lot of knowledge in this brain. I have a lot to offer. So let me like really help you and whatever you're open to receiving, I'm here for it. Um, my aha moment was that the way that I was connecting with people. And then I also understood like right when I first started this business, right? I wasn't looking to play small. Like I knew that if I was going to trade time for money. Like, I already do that at my J O B. Like, I, I went through all the degrees and all the school and all the exams and the board certifications and all that crap to like get to where I am. And don't get me wrong, I'm grateful for my career. But, I already knew what it was like to work hard for somebody else. When I started this business, I say, wow. Okay. So if I work the hardest for myself, pour into myself, pour into my mind, pour into my belief, pour into my business, and then get paid appropriately, now bringing a paycheck every week, and then I get to help other people do the same and then earn all these extras, the bonuses and the trips, blah, blah, blah. Like, why wouldn't I do that? Right. That just like makes sense to me. And I said, no one is paying my bill. Like no one is caring about like my, my growth as a human being more than I am. So I knew right away from the beginning, my dreams were big. Like I wanted to reach the top level in our bond, but I just didn't know how to get there and stay true to my, like, stay authentic to me and like do it with integrity and do it with like. You know, good energy and like really servant heart. Um, I had it, but I was also like in a rush to get there where I just need to say, yeah, it's like, I have so much that I need to like unlayer. So I promoted to the second level of management in eight months and then lost it a year after, and then took it another year or two to like get that management level back up. And even still, even through the ebbs and flows of business. My me now versus me nine years ago is not the same person with like how I deal with adversity, with how I'm having conversations with, with my vision and like, just what's possible, not just for myself, but for other people. And just be intentional, like with conversation.

I would say that's like the biggest gift that's hard to explain is the transformation that we literally get handheld support from the most uplifting strangers in the world. Yeah. I just went to, um, one of my clients, she ran the Chicago Marathon. I went to, you know, cheerlead. And, and I, I actually connected her with another one of my clients who's done a bunch of Iron Man races and, and so like they were connected. And like just being in their little like a fly on their, on their chat wall. It was really cool to just like, these two people have no idea who they are and they're totally supporting each other in this. And then my friend Catherine runs the race and we're all back in the chat just talking about how awesome it was. And she, and they both said like, where else in the world are a bunch of strangers just like cheering you on. And I'm like in our company, like this, that just like gave me this like realization, like there's. You know, I literally get so energized plugging into this community of of high level thinkers that are so in the collaborative state where competition I mean, yeah, it comes in, but then it's transformed, you know, um, because we all see that it's so much better in life to support each other and hold each other's hand and lock in arms and really lift continuously when other people. Don't have that discipline because I didn't, I didn't have that discipline and I'm still developing it. Yeah. But it's like the, the limiting thoughts and ideas and beliefs and the paradigm of like just low level life that you kind of just don't even realize you're living in that space until you see what's possible. And that's when I saw, when I saw this opportunity and it was presented to me, like what could truly be. And I was already such a, you Just a broken kind of person, broken thought person. And I did see people talking negatively about the opportunity of network marketing, but I already lived that life and I was ready to like mature and outgrow that thinking. And I, I just intuitively knew that if I just kind of like flung myself into this like environment and culture of people, really. Designing their life versus just, just walking the path that's, that they have no real control over, like no responsibility within that, that it would eventually, I think I heard someone say, like, you stay in this for 10 years. You will, you will succeed. And for me, like, I'd like to ask you, like, for me, success looks like, like really connecting to the deeper meaning of life and, and helping other people feel that as well. Because a lot of the time we walk around with just like, what is the point? And I lived that, like that, uh, what is the point story for so long? And now it's like, I see. I don't know at all. And I'm, I'm like so grateful to continue to discover, but that deeper meaning of life.

Yas:

Yeah.

But yeah, what's success look like for you?

Yas:

Oh, um, I would say that, um, it was on a podcast today and I have to find the exact words. But he said a term and he said regret minimization, like if you can, like, are you, are you proud of everything that you have done? And that's so relative, right? Because like, whatever you're doing, right, is like for what you think success is. I would say that success is still defined by financial freedom for me, um, because it was so deep rooted in my childhood, um, but not so much for me to have like the fancy material and all that BS. It's like, For me to be able to like, retire my mother or like, retire Nick's parents or like, travel the world the way that I want to or live where I want to and be able to give back the way that I want to. So part of success is definitely like, having the money in the bank. And like, that's like, for real, like, with more money. And I think it's like Ashley Strong that says like, when you have more, you can do more, you can be more like, in this world. And I 100 percent believe that. Like money is energy. Money is. Money, it flows. So it you, when you have it, you can let more flow through you. So success means that success means also like continuing to people and empower people to see how truly powerful they are. Um, whatever that looks like, whatever your imprint, your footprint is in this world. Because I really am of the mind. I don't know if I could share this on here, but like I'm really of the mindset like the way that society the way that the government the way that like the system has been working for several decades. Has been wanting to keep you small, dumb, numb, distracted, fearful, etc. And call me whatever you want, but I am radically opposed to playing small or abiding by a system that wants me to play small. And I Definitely want to empower myself and then empower other people because I'm of the same mindset, right? Like when I know my power and you know your power and you know your power and you know your power Then we don't fall for whatever Stuff is happening around us and then that's how we change like no one is coming to save you You're coming to save you and then us We save us all together. So that's success for me. So if I were to say what success is, is if we can create a revolution where it's based in love and connection, and we understand our power and I can, I can impact one that impacts one that impacts one that impacts one. And then people know, holy shit, like Yaz shared this with me and she believes in me. And like, let's keep it moving. That's success.

And

Yas:

then when I can do that for my family and like bring kids into this world because I believe like that's how we change everything. Um, that's, that's, that's true success in my eyes. If I can do that during my time, not if, when I do that during my time on this planet, then I'd be like, good job. Yeah, it's like, I got it, you know, very powerful, very like big mission. Bye. Yeah, it's different waking up to sleeping people. Yeah. Yeah. And just not even like, you know, your reality is your reality because that's what your perspective has been. So everybody on this planet is living a different reality, right? And you don't have to see the world the way that I see the world. It's totally fine. But as if you understand your power, that's right. That's why the phrase like you can't lead unless you lead yourself and when you're taking care of yourself inside nutrition and moving your body and getting out in the sun and getting sleep. That's the start, like you can't be successful if you're not taking care of yourself, and then you can't lead anybody up anybody else unless like you're consistent with that habit, because anybody successful has to be consistent with taking care of themselves.

Yeah. Like for myself, I totally noticed like the change in my mindset when I started diving into self development and I realized like how my eyes have been closed for so long. And so slowly waking up to different things in life and like a lot of stuff you were talking about and then realizing that we're all given like God's gift, like gives us a gift. And I'm like starting to really realize, okay, that's my purpose here. And like that, that to me defined success is breaking free from. The indoctrination and then next leveling it and so there's so many different layers to it and it's abundant. It's just yeah,

Yas:

yeah, it's like, if you, whatever, whatever your belief system is right like we all have a soul, right so when you believe it's like some, whatever, your soul is here during this time 2024 October 22, dealing with this craziness of world, right, like, why, why did your soul choose this time. It has to be because either you're going to not learn your lesson and then things don't change or you're going to be here to then wake up to your power and then that's how things shift. So it's whatever you want to make of it, but I believe very deeply in my soul. Like that's, my soul is here for right now at pick this time for a reason. So like it would be a disservice To like my ancestors, and it would be a disservice to future generations if I didn't step into my power like during this short amount of time. Powerful.

Yeah. You speak our language. Yes.

Yas:

Cheers, kids.

Cheers.

Yas:

Yeah. That's how we create change. And then you have the deeper conversations, even in the most uncomfortable settings. Like I have these conversations with my patients. And like, obviously, to scale, right? Like, I'm not trying to scare them off. I'm there for physical therapy, right? But like, I, I don't want to talk about the weather. I don't want to talk about, like, the superficial stuff. I want to, I want you to understand that your body holds emotion. So what dive deep into what emotions are you holding on to or that you haven't allowed yourself to feel that's being trapped that might be correlated with what physical impairment you're experiencing. And then they, even if they are the most stubborn, something will resonate and me continuing to connect with them and then to your point also of like just how we connect. We connect through social media. We connect on here. We connect in our company, which unlike any other, we connect in person and we connect even a vibrational level, right? Like your heart is a magnet and it vibrates like five feet outside of your body. So even if you don't say anything, like literally just the state of that you're in can impact the person that's like five feet from you. And like you understand that and you're like, Oh my God, I have to work on me or delay. You can't complain that negative people are around you all the time if you're not changing you.

Yeah, I was at my cousin's um, kid's birthday party and there's this woman who, like, who's a neighbor or someone, she comes to the parties and I've met her a few times and it's like, she looks so cool and I'd love to talk to her, but something, like, there's a weird vibe and I, like, thought of this the other night after I came home, like, Like her heart must be like giving me a vibe that just is kind of almost deflecting and so, um, I thought of exactly what you're talking about just like how we, we have this like this field of energy around all of us. Because we are literally made with electrical sensors that are constantly running that we do not even think about. It's amazing all the systems that are working to keep us in the life that we're in. Right, yeah. But it's just like fascinating how like I'm like finally understanding a lot of it. Again, super open minded to how the rest of the world is going to like Go, but controlling what I can with my self, my body, my home that I live in my, my organs and skin and bones and the soul that's, that's within and how I can positively impact other people. And when I first like came into like, when I first was exposed to our business, the whole idea of leadership scared the shit out of me. Like I just, I

Yas:

remember.

Yeah. So like, like evolving into allowing leadership to be a quality that I hold and that we all hold. When I found out like, I'm not the only one, we're all leaders. We're leading ourselves into our future or into our past or into the present. Like we're always leading our, our vision, ourselves, like we're constantly in leadership. But when you like really step into it, And own it and appreciate it and honor it. Like it's such a cool feeling that humbles you. Yeah. Yeah. And it's, I just think like you are such a strong leader and I'm just like, so. Like grateful that we get to share vibration with you, even though it's across the country. Yeah,

Yas:

yeah. Likewise, like, like, to your point, like we are all leaders, we're all leading ourselves. And then once we understand, going back to once we understand the impact that we can have on just one person, that's leadership also. And then you just continue to build that belief and do it imperfectly. And like do it with mistakes and do it with fear and like all of that stuff. The key is to just act. Just, just do. Mindfully act. Take one step at a time. You know?

Yeah. And that's where I feel like a lot of people stay stuck because they aren't taking the action. And it's, it's not easy. But again, I love how you said it's like just, Being taking on this opportunity within being independent consultants within this opportunity we are agreeing to take those small action steps never by ourself. Right. always supported, which I feel like has been the thing that I realized I attract a lot of people who've lacked support. And so I get to give that to people because I didn't have it, you know, to a degree in certain levels and layers of my life and neither had these people. And it's like, you're not alone. Yeah.

Yas:

Yeah. So powerful. So powerful.

Well, thank you so much for being our first guest in our second season of the magical midlife crisis podcast. What, um, what's the vision for the remainder of 2024 for you?

Yas:

Yeah. So, um, thank you again for having me, um, just really showing up authentically as I continue to grow my business. As I continue to expand on my career as a physical therapist, because even that still I have layers to even unfold in that, um, and hopefully becoming a mother and, you know, stepping in the next part of my life, because that's all part of change and self worth, right? Like, I can dive so much deeper into that, but just really understanding, like, I am here.
