This is meg and court. So It is december and holidays shopping craziness stress enjoyment, all the things are happening, especially from like I feel it's just a whirlwind going from like Halloween through December and Christmas. It's just, it's a lot. Yeah. It's a lot. A lot of pie, a lot of food, a lot of everything. And trying to like, just get it all done. It's funny how this is like the Last quarter of the month, which I never really used to look at life in quarters until we started getting into, well, me getting into business. I'm sure you looked at it that way, having your bar business, but like it's the last quarter of the month and it's just nonstop from, and now I. Like this is so adulting this is what our parents have dealt with and as kids you're just like oh there's there's winter break and there's like fun parties and stuff you get to go to and gifts that you get to ask for and it's just like a totally different um mindset as you are older and wiser well yeah trying to be wiser well when i was a kid i was asking for barbies and VHS tapes. These kids are now, Mason's asking for some extreme shit. So it's like trying to keep up with that. Like it's stressful enough as it is, you know, so I can't even imagine for other families that financial needs aren't meeting their expectations and like, yeah, it's just, well, and the more that we learn that most families are literally like 200 to 800. Under what would really help them feel more comfortable within a month. And that's why I'll just say that what we do We're we're going to be talking more about health in this. Um topic of this of this episode, but wealth is Definitely health is a part of wealth and in the business that we have with lifestyle entrepreneurship and coaching other people how to start their own Wellness e commerce business helps with that 200 to 800 a month extra and more. And most people have, and it's the people that really want to make a change where the discomfort in your current circumstance gets to be so bad that you're like, okay, something's scary. Is worth jumping into. And that's what, that's the choice that Megan and I made doing what we do. And we help other people do the same. So please connect with us, check the show notes, but onto the health portion of this subject, this topic of this episode, we're talking about the 30 days to healthy living, which is where Megan and I met, and if you haven't listened to listen to those earlier episodes, we'll just kind of summarize it. Now. Like the 30 days, this program is like food support, um, guidelines. Education has been such an, uh, a gateway to our next level of, of understanding life, of loving life. And. I always love hearing Meg talk about her, her story with the 30 days. So, all right, I'll talk about my 30 days. So flashback to before my 30 days, I knew you, but you were more of like, I would just consider an acquaintance, you know, and Um, I've seen you post stuff before on, um, your health and wellness journey. And I remember like meeting your mom would come into the diner. She was so cute. She always get, she'd get breakfast in the afternoon. It was so cute. And I remember her telling me about, um, her doing the 30 days and how great it felt. And I was just like, Oh, just, I figured it was just like another product line, whatever, like just kind of went in one or out the other. But then when I was dealing with my own personal health issues. Um, I didn't really realize how uncomfortable I was in my own skin and how inflamed and what was really wrong with me until COVID happened and the world came to a staggering halt. And as those of you that know, I'm in the restaurant business. And when COVID happened, Everybody had to shut down their restaurants. The nice part about that was it wasn't like we were just pinpointed, like I have to close mine and everybody else gets to be open. So it kind of had a little set of, like, I felt at ease with that. And so it kind of made me just feel better about it in a way. But for the first time I was actually able to sit in like silence and I realized I don't feel good. Cause I was on the go. We had just for the last year, since 2018, me and Joel were, we were Grinding, trying to get the diner up and ready, doing all the construction, the remodel, I was doing all the decor and menus on that end, and then I was working it and then eventually I was working the kitchen. So, and there were days where I would sleep at the diner at night. I started to wake up there and I'd cook in the morning. Like, I'm not gonna lie. I ended up learning how to make a killer breakfast. I learned so much from like opening that business and like really learning how I can believe in myself, which that has. Who I am now. So it's really cool evolution, but yeah, like I was saying, like I was just in constantly a state of stress, tired, just eating all the food that was there every day. I mean, it's fine every once in a while, but I was just consuming that every day, drinking all the crappy energy drinks. Like bang was my drink. Like I'd have two to three a day, no joke. And then COVID happened. And I actually was starting to eat a little bit better, which what I look back at now, which was healthier, but not really health standards that I live by now. So that's another cool evolution to have the 30 days, but, um, Yeah, so like I said, I was just able to actually just sit and like reflect on my life. Like, do it really started with, do we want to open the diner or do we not, we want to close it? And I just really started to look at my personal life. I'm sick of not feeling well. I felt tired every day. I would literally have to peel myself out of bed. I mean, the headaches were every day and I remember going to numerous doctor's appointments and specialists and they wanted to put me on steroids and all other different medications they were recommending. And this was before I really knew anything about holistic health, plant medicine, um, I just never knew about venturing into that way of life. But I just felt like that was not for me. Even though I was somebody that could quickly go to the doctor's office and leave with a prescription not even thinking twice about it I don't know if it was just my higher self kind of lightly stepping in right and just being like, okay Just hold off. Don't go down this route yet. And that same day that I was like fed up I think I went to I went to the neurologist and then the rheumatologist and I was just like Exhausted and then that was when I saw you post your 30 day journey And I was like, okay, this is what I'm called to. I just felt like once you really start to understand energy, you could really feel when you're being like a magnet is like attaching you to something. And I just messaged you, even though we had never like had an actual real conversation, but. I messaged you because you shared your story and then we set up a consultation to talk and like I always tell everybody that you just, and I've said it before in here a million times and I'll continue to say it, you have a gift of explaining all of this in such a miraculous way. It is truly like, because I have a sister who's a dietician, I've spoken to other dieticians and it just all, even though you're a science brain, You know how to break it down into understandable and I don't know, it's just the way that we vibe. I got, but yeah, so I did, we had the phone consultation and just days later, I got my 30 days shipped to my door and you went over just everything that I should have. And so I had my kitchen ready and I just, I, if I had questions, I would send you pictures and you would give me cleaner options. I started to really realize. Holy cow, like I didn't realize how much processed foods I was eating. I didn't realize how much seed oils I was consuming. Like I thought Fritos, because they were gluten free, like, okay, I can eat a bag. Yeah. Had no clue that I'm just sucking on canola oil. Like, you know, um, but yeah, I just started to really realize, wow, a lot of things that I thought were healthy weren't and they were contributing to my inflammation. And so I would say. About two weeks into my 30 day journey, and I went hardcore. Like, I'm an all or nothing person, especially my first one. I don't think I've ever done a 30 days quite like my first one, because I've been able to manage it a lot better, but it was the most incredible experience of my life. I just felt like I just had weights just constantly being lifted off me. I was able to think better, feel better, treat myself better, treat other people better. I was less irritable. Um, I was sleeping better. My anxiety was going away. I battled with depression my entire life and anxiety. And then that slowly started to go away to the point where I was starting to realize, you know what, I'm at a place in my life, even during this, like 30 days, I started to have realizations that, Oh my God, this is just the beginning. It could be so much more. It's like, it's just crazy that we just don't realize what we're consuming, how much it weighs us down. It lowers our energy. Like I would have been in a low vibrational state for years, not even knowing it or realizing it. And you don't until you raise your vibration. And so, yeah, when you stop eating those low vibrational foods and you introduce whole food, concentrate supplements, you start to like, just feel better and you're more connected. Everything just started to seem brighter to me. Everything just seemed more clear and crisp. I'm just getting excited thinking about it. Like, seriously, it's kind of like the first time you do something scary or exciting. Like you always want every time to be like that. And so it's like, I always look back and I'm have such gratitude and like abundance for just experiencing that and awakening from my past. Deep sleep that I'd been in for so long. Yeah. And so let's go back to like, I finished the 30 days and I was hooked. I was hooked. And so it's just incredible and amazing to be able to learn how to implement. Started to learn and understand ingredients, you know, and they make it very confusing how to understand ingredients, right? Yes. Like I'm still not a hundred percent like understanding what a lot of these words are because the FDA also changes a lot of things, but yeah. And I think on purpose. To just keep us totally unaware. Yep. But I remember like when we first started talking, I think in that consultation, um, where you told me like the pain that you had, like in your hips and the way you explained it, I couldn't relate to that only that I did a really, really, really hard workout and getting out of bed and feeling that pain. Um, And, and you're like, yeah, that's how it feels all the time. And I'm just like, my God, I can't imagine like, having, waking up with that. I would literally have to lift my thighs up and, turn my body and like, plop my legs on the floor. Yeah. I mean, that's constant. I mean, when I talk about, I lived a really unhealthy lifestyle, lived a really unhealthy lifestyle and everybody's bodies are different and they react differently. But just learning and understanding the power of food. It's like, I was talking to somebody about this the other day and I'm like, I don't even look at anything the same anymore. I look at everything as energy. Like when I'm at the grocery store, I look in the middle of the grocery store. And to me, it's just dense, it's dark, it's gloomy. Like I sometimes have to go through those aisles to get stuff. You know what I mean? But it's just like, I don't even like, it just feels weird to me. Cause I just know, I know it's like all the processed foods and everything is just loaded with glyphosate. And it's just, it's the evolution of doing a program that is designed to help you learn how to live healthier habits because nothing else is sustainable. It literally you have a team of people and they guide you there's doctors there's just naturopathic doctors or dieticians I mean we just are flooded with so much knowledge it's unreal yeah like I just was missing out on this for so long but it just comes into your life when it's supposed to. I fully agree the the level of um, education, guidance, connection, because like I wasn't, I didn't have a lot of healthy people in my life like before when I was doing it. So I felt so alone and trying to make small changes and I'm like, okay, I'm gonna try this and try this. But like, I didn't have support. So I didn't stick with changes that I was trying to make before. I came into the 30 days before I came into the entire wellness community and then learning about the 30 days because my friend was trying to tell me about it. So like, um, this is court by the way, a car. So my 30 days started with, um, so my friend going through breast cancer. She learned that the type she had was not the genetic type. It was the environmental toxin driven cancer, which we're hearing so much about this now. Um, but like endocrine disruptor. Ingredients that are in our products that we're putting on our skin but also like the pesticides are the same thing in our foods all these fake colors and dyes and sweeteners and flavors and all that like they they all work to To mess with our endocrine system, which is our hormones, which is the way the body talks to each other And so like she's learning about this and then she's telling me about it You And she told me about, like, the nutrition plan, but I'm, my ego was like, Yeah, I'm good, I'm, I'm, I'm figuring it out. Like, I'm, I'm learning about gut health, I'm reading the things, I got it. So she's like, okay, whatever. So then she's like, um, you know, still, you should take a look at this opportunity, you're totally in the space of just, like, you know, self development, and Growing yourself and mental health. You should look at this opportunity to be a consultant. So that spoke to me more than the nutrition did. So I joined and, and then I go to this info session with Dr. Tanda Cook. She is one of the most amazing naturopathic doctors that has just awesome free content. Check her out on Instagram. Um, and she. Went over the whole 30 days and I'm like, what is wrong with me? Like, why was I so resistant to trying this? Because it's everything. It's like holds your hand and educates you and makes it easy. Makes it convenient. Like that was what I needed. I am not the type to spend hours and hours in the kitchen, hours at the grocery store. Like I need easy. Just cause that's my own limitation in my head. I want to be better at like cooking and stuff and it's coming, it's happening. But at the time I was like, I don't know, a infant in the kitchen. So I needed convenience. I needed guidance and I needed it to be like, press start here and go. So when I ordered, I, I ordered and then the next day I went on vacation to Mexico and. It was the most Awful, like, vacation I had ever had. My anxiety was insane. Um, my bloating and digestive issues was the worst. I just felt absolutely miserable. And then I come home, and then I do the 30 days, and I just learn about how my mood affected Or my, yeah, my mood was affected by food. And again, I had already been reading about that, but until I felt the difference and I like was, I came home, got my package at my door, press, start, start using the stuff still like not totally sure what I was doing, but doing it anyway, and then just literally following the simple system. And feeling just one by one, like symptoms that I was having headaches, bloating, um, you know, inability to focus, like those things starting to drop off, but like, I always tell my story, it's like day 10 around there. Like I woke up normally, I woke up like. just ready for someone to Trigger me and like send me into this like tailspin of negativity where everything sucked and then People around me just frustrated the hell out of me irritated me so that day That didn't happen. Like I, no one triggered me. I didn't like people were like really nice to me and I was really nice to them and I felt like just this like pleasantness just unlocked where I just didn't have the same frustration and irritability like irritability was my I don't know my my default emotion I guess like constant PMS and then when I was PMSing it was Just elevated way worse. So, uh, yeah. So that was really when I started to. Understand that it's all connected. And I mean, I feel like we hear this all the time. Everything's connected, but when you start to unlock, like. Just, I don't know, real positive emotions inside of you because of the food you're eating is becoming you. We hear this all the time, you, you are what you eat, but like most people, we know things, but we never make the We know, but we don't know. We know, but what we're doing Says that we don't know what we're talking about or what we know, but we don't apply right things, right? That's why action is you know, a knowledge is power but action is where the true power is shown of what the knowledge is So yeah, that was I was like, okay, like I gotta open my mouth. I gotta talk about this stuff I can't be the secret agent, you know health and wellness person anymore like I It's it was like in my calling to unlock my voice for this purpose of helping people feel better and everyone's got their backstory and many of you may if you listen to the first season like meg And I have our backstories like my brother is the Dead soul that brought us together but he his death really just made me start to look at life differently and it's like He He was the one that showed me, like, health, living the standard American life, which, it's so funny, everyone knows that, standard American diet, S. A. D. Everyone, I mean, I'm pretty sure everyone has heard that, and yet, we all keep making, we all keep taking the steps to continue that life, and it's like, People all get to their point where they don't want to run that program anymore. Something's got to change. And either we're, we're inspired by, you know, a naturopathic doctor talking about the brain gut connection. And you're like, okay, like I'm going to, I'm going to press start or somebody dies or somebody is diagnosed with something or you're diagnosed with something. And then you're like, okay, I got to press start. So it's like, we get to choose, we get that choice. I think. I can speak on myself and I know I can speak on plenty of other people because it's human nature, but everybody expects an external event to change how they're feeling in the inside. And that's not how it's going to happen. We have to do the internal work and we have to start feeling our bodies with cleaner food and cleaner ingredients. Cause health is wealth and the healthier we feel, the wealthier we are just in all aspects of our life. And that's why I mean, we love what we do every new year. So this is my sixth year doing the 30 days at the new year start. Every new year we lead a group. Our contact information is in the comments or in the show notes. Like, wherever you are, if you're eating McDonald's every day, if you're eating, um, yeah, if you're eating candy before bed, if you're, um, whole, like, if you're a whole foods person already, you're eating all the clean stuff, like, wherever you are, we meet you. And what's really cool, let's talk about the seven day, like, you wanted to, um, So our, our company has released a really cool seven day fresh start, which is so simple. Like you can incorporate it with your, what you do every day or along with the 30 days, but it's really focused on, um, metabolic health and we'll just tag Dr. Tanda cook again. And Dr. Casey means like metabolism, metabolic health is linked to every single disease and inflammation issue out there. But, um, the seven day fresh start is incorporating something super cool and free and super it's very health driven. It's intermittent fasting. And. Meg, why don't you talk about your take? Okay, so I barely knew much about intermittent fasting. I had heard of it. I knew that people just went like a window without eating. Um, I didn't really know why. I just thought it was for them to lose weight. I had no idea about metabolic health. Nothing about how our bodies work. And, I'm probably, I'm a late night eater, and so I probably honestly would go seven hours only without eating. Not getting much sleep, and then obviously not having a big window for a digestive rest. And so, when they launched the 7 Day in Vegas, I think we ordered it right away. Or we got it in Vegas. That's right. And we were literally on our plane back and we started it that night. And I was so excited to actually apply intermittent fasting. And it made me realize like the first couple of days, it was kind of a little bit hard for me to at least just start with a 12 hour window, but I think I went 16 hours. I think I was just like, I'm going all in. And, um, I started to realize by like day two, day three, I realized like, I wasn't as hungry as I typically was and then I realized how many times I Grab a fucking snack out of the pantry or what? I'm not even hungry I was just I was just realizing how much I was eating when I didn't need to be eating and like not realizing The first thing that I put in my body in the day is important Like I would either just wake up and have whatever to eat not realizing that i'm if i'm starting my morning off with carbs That's gonna you know, just spike my sugar levels and it just really was cool to really experience You Obviously the weight loss that I had, I felt like I dropped a few pounds and, um, just really just doing the program and realizing intermittent fasting, that having a digestive rest is so important for our bodies. You know, the more I really realized that we're just energy and nature and how hard they work. Our bodies work so hard on us. We're on our feet all day. If you give your feet a big thank you right now, like these poor little things, especially me and my bunions, they just wobble me around town all day, every day. And I got to say, thank you. But yeah, our bodies work so hard, especially in this modern day world with the constant digital demons that are Really trying to steal our mind and the noise and like rest is a gift to our body to our minds to our gut organs that are always on the offense and um, it's it's I was I was kind of closed off to fasting because I, the stuff that I had heard of prior to really getting the education through our company was like, you can eat whatever you want, just like fast and then eat whatever the hell you want. And I was like, that's, I mean, okay, fine. If people want to do that, but that doesn't work for me. Like I'm, I'm just, I'm on the train of like, just being super mindful of. You know what i'm feeling my body with and i'm i'm on the healing journey like i'm healing parts of me that Have needed have needed to be healed so the idea of like I don't know Not eating it. It just I would get hangry. So like you said I then understood like, okay if i'm getting hangry I actually have a blood sugar problem. And so yeah learning what to break the fast with and then um And just like We're so conditioned for, um, uh, immediate gratification. So like training the body to, to just move through the discomfort a little bit about like delayed gratification. I just conditions you in a whole different way at the same time. So, I dunno, I really appreciated. I mean, it's super short. It's, I think, delicious as far as like, it's two products, or it's three products in total. One is a probiotic that you swallow. But like, the two products, I mean, the education on them, how great they are for our gut health, our metabolism, regulating our hormones. And then adding it to, you know, whatever your normal routine is or and or also adding the 30 days. It's like, I didn't think we could feel better than the 30 days, but then this came out and I'm obsessed. I do it every first week of the month because we're all in metabolic issues. As far as what we learn in the holistic wellness world, 98 percent of people are prediabetic. basically have blood sugar issues. So I mean, what a gift we can give to ourselves. Yeah. Doing this. Yeah. It's, we don't realize that what we've done five years ago, 10 years ago, what we've consumed is affecting us now. Like what we ate as kids affects us now. So it's something great to apply. Even if you are eating clean and healthy. You still want to do this program because I'll let you touch base a little bit on the liver because I love the way you speak about the liver and it's just whatever phase you are in your life This is something that you want to apply and this program is legit like yeah So, um, i'll just be brief, but the liver i've learned is basically the um project manager of the body. And I mean, think about it. Like there's, there's things like high fructose corn syrup that literally is designed to bypass everything and go straight go like straight to the liver and just take it down. So like, teenage boys and girls, but teenage boys are the highest reason why liver transplants are happening now. Like it used to be alcoholics. Yeah. It's literally teenage boys because of the food that they're eating is so high and high fructose corn syrup. They, they're literally having to have their livers transplanted. So the liver is the project manager. It creates all of our hormones, the good, um, a lot of the, the issues with our hormones, again, hormones are like our, our email system of the body. They like think of a um, like a bunch of gears working together So most people's like gears like, you know, those little knobs that are in watches and clocks and stuff They're not linked up. They're they're not in sync. So like once you start to Give the gears what they need that lubrication They start syncing up they start turning so that they all meet up and then they start turning all the other gears in the body So like all the little conveyor belts that are supposed to be happening are all working together to make The human put out energy like we're putting energy in and then energy goes out But that whole mentality of like food in food out It doesn't work anymore because of the stress of life and the liver is really like inundated with work. It's overloaded. It's, it's toxic. It's, it's purifying everything that it can, but it is just harboring a lot of shit. So to give it rest, to give it time to let go of stuff in a healthy manner so that you're not like feeling the crazy detox feelings that a lot of people have on certain kinds of detoxes. Um, it it's, it's just. It's a really important organ, as they all are, but it's just a big Well some work better, some organs work better, the better certain organs work. Yes, like the brain. Yeah. And the heart. Yeah, our brain works better when our gut works better. Yes. And I never, like, I love the, I just, I always, I'm going to touch back on health as well. Like I never knew how much better I could be at the bar as a boss and a leader. And the more and more I focus on my health, that my wealth and the business is better just as a whole. And it's just, it's just, I'd love that terminology because it's so fucking true and simple and real and wealth can be explained in all different ways. Just to say that. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, yeah, it's the better we feel, the better it, it. Place in every aspect of our life. The better we feel, the better we're gonna be at work, the better we're gonna be with our family, with our friends, and just external environments. We're gonna respond better to situations. It's our connections. Like, our relationships are better because we've invested in our relationship with ourself. Yeah. Which then opens up the relationship that we have with society. our creator. I feel so high vibe right now. I feel like I'm, I swear, I feel so fucking high vibe right now. This is great. Yeah. Hope you're feeling high vibe.
