Hello Voyagers, how's it going? Hello Frank and Lauren here. Hi, just so you know, today is Friday, january 17th, and we missed two weeks of episodes. Yes, lauren, why.
Speaker 2:There's a lot of reasons.
Speaker 1:There's a handful of reasons.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:There's a big one and it's still burning.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:In Los Angeles.
Speaker 2:Yes, there have been fires, as I'm sure you know, going on in the LA area and we live just outside of LA and it has affected us just in that we've experienced high winds and power outages.
Speaker 1:Power outages.
Speaker 2:That is the big thing for us.
Speaker 1:And the looming threat of potentially having to evacuate at some point. It seems like, with the winds dying, now we're back in business, but I packed up the studio twice.
Speaker 2:Yes, we had a lot of things ready in our car, just because everything was lighting on fire last week and the week before.
Speaker 1:Oh, and the crescendo was. For some reason, a house across the street from ours caught fire. There wasn't even any wind. No one even knows why.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:Suspicious much.
Speaker 2:We.
Speaker 1:This is a conspiracy theory show. Now, no, it's not. Yeah, it is. I'm bringing Alex Jones back. Oh my God, oh no, folks, folks.
Speaker 2:Who's lighting?
Speaker 1:the fires. It's a land grab.
Speaker 2:Oh wow, he really cracked himself up on that one. Sorry, I like that. Anyway, we've had to reschedule or we had to cancel several interviews because we had no power, no Wi-Fi, and our whole town was out of power. So obviously we're not in the situation where other people are, where they've lost homes or anything which is like devastating. We just haven't been able to have a podcast.
Speaker 1:Small fries. Who cares Small fries?
Speaker 2:Small fries yeah.
Speaker 1:Small potatoes.
Speaker 2:Small potatoes.
Speaker 1:Small fry.
Speaker 2:Oh, small fry.
Speaker 1:My love for fried foods and potatoes in general um anyway, we're good, in fact, today is our daughter's birthday and we are going to dave and busters tonight. Yeah, who now sponsors the show? Just kidding, but I wish they would.
Speaker 1:Investors, yeah, come on so a couple of things, guys. Um, just just for a second, yeah, just for a second. Let's talk about if you're local and this has been affecting you, like sometimes, especially if you're in the spiritual community, you might feel like you want to pull meaning out of things like devastating fires, or I, I have a tendency to do that. What does this mean? We devastating fires, or I, I have a tendency to do that. What does this mean? We're always in that we talk about like soul contracts and shit like that all the time, and it makes me I find myself falling into the rabbit hole of what does it mean? What's the lesson in this? And like the truth is that, because it's not happening to us, like, I'm not the right person to come up with that.
Speaker 2:So what I will say, especially, because you just don't want it to be, I don't know, offensive or like insensitive to someone having their own experience. Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1:So if you find yourself a fan of the show, a local, and you're trying to pull something out of this, I will say this that you should just do the best you can right now and focus on on rebuilding your life and and healing yourself. Take the time you need for healing. That is number one. That's number one. That's the clairvoyaging takeaway today.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I mean we really the only impact that we had again was was stressful wind and the chance of something lighting on fire and our power going out and still, because we know those areas so well and like I know some people who lost their homes and like I know some people who lost their homes, it's so it's like you can feel the collective grief from everyone and the collective stress and I think, like I mean I know I got Frank at some point called me like the eyes in the sky or the command center.
Speaker 1:Oh, Lauren was K-Cal 9, Lauren Lee and I in the sky with our eyes on the fire, up to date on the hour.
Speaker 2:I had the WatchDuty app. I had the PulsePoint app and I was like if something popped up. I was like listening to the dispatcher, just what am I going to do? Nothing.
Speaker 1:There's nothing.
Speaker 2:I can do. You can dispatch like she's Spider-Man, Honestly some of it is just like wow, that's.
Speaker 2:That's fascinating to hear how, one, how calm the first responders are, yeah, and two, just to hear how they like I don't know contact each other. But but I have to say like I started neglecting my own well-being because it's like I wanted to put this feeling somewhere. I wanted to have a reason for how I was feeling and I think, because you can't do anything, you feel so helpless. There's like this grief and sadness for somebody else. You want to feel like there's somewhere to put it, and that's at least how I felt. I don't know what to do with this, yeah, else you want to feel like there's somewhere to put it, and that's at least how I felt.
Speaker 1:No, I was like so one thing that I don't know what to do with this yeah, one thing that I wrote down specifically is that I'm going to underline it right now there is no valor in commiseration, so not to say to like, forget about everything that's going on and forget about what people are going through, but do what you can. If you feel folks, if you feel compelled to help, like help in any way, you can, um, if you like, have any resources that you can lend, like lend them to the proper organizations that you have selected, that that are authentic to your, your mindset and what you would like to help towards. Um, you know, there's like shelters, there's animal shelters, all kinds of stuff that need help.
Speaker 2:Oh yeah, there's organizations doing a lot of really great work.
Speaker 1:And if you don't have any excess resources, like what we were just talking about recently with Renny Merkel. Um, that concept of uh, what is it? Not? Not thoughts and prayers, but like really using your connection to source, Use your body as a battery and send that energy, that positive, healing energy, to the areas that need it the most. Even if you don't know a person. Just the general direction. She talked about using ley lines. We haven't really talked about ley lines, but look it up real quick, Use it.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:Think about it like a power cable directly to the area, the affected area yeah and then, like you know something, like I made a joke about it in the beginning, just now, but when I was pretending to be alex jones, but like I'm, I'm, I find myself slipping into a little bit of the uh, conspiratorial. Not that the fires are started, I don't know, I don't know about that, but like, specifically, like there are always going to be, you know, there are predatory land grabs happening, or at least the situation is right for it. So if you are in a position where you can try and prevent that or bring awareness to that kind of thing, that would be helpful. So, however, you that's probably just the anti-capitalist in me.
Speaker 2:That's fine, that's okay.
Speaker 1:That's fine. However, you help, help, but then after that, once you do your bit, you're going to be able to let it go. It's not yours. It's not yours If you want to do like a once a day check-in or once they send vibes like the kind of thing, do that, but you don't have to feel the collective, collective pain.
Speaker 2:He is secretly talking to me.
Speaker 1:We, we need you as an unaffected person at your best. At your best. Yeah, so you can promote, yeah.
Speaker 2:Yeah, that's at your best, at your best. Yeah, so you can elevated. Yeah, yeah, that's. That's something that I I have struggled with. As such a sensitive, empathic person, I have a hard time not just like being in it and feeling like I. There's almost like a moral responsibility to feel everyone's sadness and the weight of like the devastation.
Speaker 1:And there's not.
Speaker 2:And I don't. That doesn't help. I'm not. It's not helping anything. It's actually making things kind of worse because I'm I'm lowering my vibration by not lifting things up.
Speaker 1:So so, then, that's what I'm saying, about there being no valor and commiseration. Stay high vibes, stay sending healing energy and keep doing your thing, and I think that's the only way forward.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:There's a difference between being aware of situations and sitting in them.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:And like it's the equivalent of like doom scrolling on your phone. Has doom scrolling ever helped anybody? You don't. You just don't need to sit in that pain, that's all.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I feel like the biggest takeaway is the first thing that goes. When we're in a stress situation or feeling that like collective grief and there is an emergency or disaster, the first thing that goes for everyone is self-care. I mean, I was looking on threads and just seeing comment after comment of people like I don't know what to do with myself or how am I supposed to go to work and feel like everything's normal. Just living in LA or nearby is affecting everyone, so. But you have to really take care of yourself so that you can be there in support of the people who actually need it.
Speaker 1:Take care of yourself.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:For other people yeah.
Speaker 2:So we really just wanted a quick check-in, did you?
Speaker 1:have other stuff to chat about?
Speaker 2:not really. Yeah, it was just a quick check-in because, I don't know, we felt kind of because we went.
Speaker 1:We went radio silent for two weeks here yeah, we literally were disconnected literally disconnected no lights, no camera, no Frank was unplugging things and packing them multiple times.
Speaker 2:No, poor me.
Speaker 1:I'm not going to complain about having to. We have a generator for camping. I'm like, oh, I got to fill it with gas again. I'm like, at least I have a house. Man, you know, I'm not going to complain, I'm not complaining.
Speaker 2:Oh my gosh, that's it too, the survivor guilt it's so when something like this happens, you feel guilty for even complaining about anything. Yeah, um, the people on like next door, like when is our power coming back on? I need to get in touch with edison and I'm like you guys, chill, there's zero survivor guilt on those, those threads no, next door people are just pissed next door is next level yeah um.
Speaker 1:But I will say one more thing actually, because along the lines of that is, I also was on some quite toxic threads um and forums about people saying like they're all, it's all rich people and my bros. No, it's not no it's not, it's just people. Just because you live in california, just because you live near malibu, doesn't mean you are rolling in it.
Speaker 1:So yeah you have to like. This isn't for those of you. I'm not no one listen to the show as a toxic person. They're all good, but, but you know, be wary of people out there who, like me, I'm like, oh, yeah, like, I want this year to be like a tower moment and I want us to like rebuild, but not not at the cost of, like you, normal folks. Right, yeah, so like, yeah, I want to see institutions theoretically burn. I don't want to see entire hillsides full of homes and families burn. That's insane. So, yeah, I mean, I'm sure you've seen people out there saying, like it's all, it's all rich people like, who cares about them? Um, or like, then your toxic positivity too, where it's like it's just things it's just things it's not that big of a deal.
Speaker 2:At least you're alive yeah but like this, is true trauma and grief and loss.
Speaker 1:Treated like a death.
Speaker 2:You know their entire communities are gone, or their school, or like the place that their children call home. All these memories, all the things that they're used to having just being gone and to just whittle it down to like I mean, it is, it's just stuff. But there's so much more to that when you've built this community and you've built a place to live.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:So we will be back soon with we got to get our people rescheduled.
Speaker 1:All of the interviews got canceled, so, yeah, yeah, as of now, don't have a show for next week, but we'll figure it out.
Speaker 2:We'll do something.
Speaker 1:We'll figure it out.
Speaker 2:Guys, we'll see you soon. We love you.
Speaker 1:Hearts and stars.
Speaker 2:Hearts and stars.
