Welcome back to Curious for Christ. This is Alexandra Alvarez. Today is good Friday, April 18th, and with this episode, I wanted to invite you into a sacred pause, a space to reflect on the three most powerful days in human history. Good Friday, silent Saturday, and Resurrection Sunday. But this isn't just about looking back. It's about allowing God to speak to you. Now because he's not only calling you to healing or breakthrough in this life, he's calling you into something much deeper, A life of purpose, a life that echoes into eternity. So if you're in a season where something has ended, if you feel stuck in the middle, or you're longing for breakthrough without knowing when or if it'll come, this episode is for you. Welcome to Curious For Christ. Do you ever find yourself lying, awake at night, wondering about God's plan for your life? Maybe you wake up with big dreams, but feel unsure where to start or what your next step should be. If you're curious about exploring your faith and finding purpose, then you've come to the right place. Hi, I'm Alexandra. I too felt lost, unsure of the direction my life was leaking. I yearned or understand my purpose and have someone guide me. But I kept telling myself I was too busy. The timing wasn't right, and my lack of clarity prevented me from being consistent until I found Christ. He brought peace into my life and revealed the way to find purpose by anchoring myself. In him. In this podcast, we'll journey together exploring the Bible to gain a deeper understanding of him and cultivate your own personal relationship with Christ. So open up your Bible, put in those earbuds and listen up because God is speaking to you. He's making everything new and you don't wanna miss it. Let's get started. Jesus died on a Friday. Luke 23 verses 44 through 46 says it was now about noon. And darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon. Jesus called out with a loud voice, father, into your hands. I commit my spirit. When he had said this, he breathed his last. The world went quiet and dark. The disciples scattered. Hope it seemed was lost. Maybe you've had a Friday like that when everything changed. I've had scary health diagnosis and needed to wait. I've experienced the loss of both my parents and moments where I wondered, is there really life after this? And what will it look like if there is? Because everything that I've known has now gone, and yet even there, God met me because he never left. Saturday is the space in between the silence. We don't hear much about this day in scripture, but we know the disciples were afraid, grieving and locked behind closed doors. In John 20 verse 19, it says, on the evening of that first day of the week when the disciples were together with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders. That Saturday waiting confusion and deep raw emotion. Maybe you are in your own Saturday, you're holding grief, confusion or waiting for clarity. You are wondering what comes next and if God even sees you. Saturday is where our emotions rise and all the old beliefs surface. There's a stirring in our soul when we wait in anticipation when we don't know what comes next, there's a confrontation with what we truly believe everything is at war within. It's where we must let the tears fall if they need to fall. And why? Tears? Because the pain in your life is real and heavy, but there's an even deeper ache. The pain of having separated ourselves from God and never really knowing him. You see, just thanking God or casually acknowledging him in your life. That's not the relationship he died to give you. He wants to be Lord of your soul, of your heart, your mind and your strength. God gave you his very life, his most precious treasure, his one and only son, but why? Because you and I. We needed that much rescuing your survival. My survival depended on that sacrifice. This isn't just about achieving dreams or goals here on earth. This is about eternity. The very reason you're alive in the first place. Don't settle for the lesser riches of this world and let those determine how you will feel and be today. Because there are only shadows of what's to come. Let your Saturday tears fall. Let your soul cry out because in the waiting, in the silence, God is speaking and he's calling you closer. And then Sunday comes Luke 24 verses one through six says On the first day of the week. Very early in the morning, they found the stone rolled away, but when they entered they did not find a body. The angel said, why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here. He has risen. Jesus rose from the grave and everything changed. The resurrection isn't something you earn, it's something you receive. So how do we receive it? By being still, by trusting his timing, by releasing what no longer belongs in this new life he is offering you. In Acts two, verses 36 through 38, during Pentecost, Peter stands before the crowd and reveals the truth. This Jesus, whom you crucified, you, meaning you and I, my friend, God has made both Lord and Messiah. Messiah, the Savior. The people are cut to their heart and ask, what shall we do? We need to be cut to the heart. We need to allow our hearts to be broken. Peter, whom Jesus called the rock on which he would build his church response with clarity. This is what we shall do. Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. This is the way back to God. This is the invitation Jesus offers us through his sacrifice and his resurrection. Again, this is not just about history. It's about you. Without God, we are all lost, but God in his love sent Jesus to make a way back. Jesus already paid the prize. You don't have to strive. You don't have to hide. You don't have to be even perfect to come to God, but you do have to respond. Repent, repent. Let go of what no longer serves the new life he has for you. Be baptized, fully immersed, sharing in his death and rise up as a new creation, just as Jesus said in John three verse five. Truly, truly, I say to you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the spirit. Then you'll receive the Holy Spirit, which is the seal of you belonging to God. And live the life he's calling you into with power, with grace and with freedom. I hope this message speaks to you. And on a personal note, this week I helped my husband finally sell a house that he's had on the market for a long time. It is actually our personal home, and the day that I listed it, offer came in that moment, felt like a small resurrection. But behind the scenes I was carrying a lot. Parenting a lot of work and pressure, and trying to be strong for everyone. And I asked God, how do I carry all of this without losing myself? And I felt him whisper, let me carry you. I have been a disciple for 20 years now, but I still need him to carry me to hold me. It is a lifelong dedication to waiting on him, being guided by his spirit, and letting the spirit produce fruit in my life. Come to me, all those who are weary and burdened. Jesus says, this is a personal invitation from Jesus because the truth is I can burden myself with the old, and my work is to remain new. Just like on the day that I chose and said, no more, God is Lord. Died in the water and resurrected at baptism. So a friend, you might be waiting on your own breakthrough financially, emotionally, or spiritually. God has set a specific time where he will be found by you. Don't waste the waiting and the pain, the tears, the quiet, the letting go. It all matters. God is making everything new. In the book of Resurrection, 21 verse four, it says He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more grief, crying, and pain will be no more because the previous things have passed away. God is clearing the old to make room for what's next. And that was my message for you today. If you want to go deeper this Easter weekend, I have three episodes that pair perfectly with this message, episode 86, 89, and 90. I will put all these in the show notes for you to find them easily. Episode 86, talks about healing and how to release stored emotions, find renewal with God, especially during your Saturday season. This one helps you let the old go and welcome emotional healing with God. Episode 89, wrestling for the new to come because the new doesn't come quietly. It's a process and God is in it. Episode 90, trusting God's timing For those who are tired of striving and want to learn how to receive with trust. You'll find links to those in the show notes. Take time this weekend to sit with God. Feel Friday. Rest in Saturday and rise into Sunday with open hands and a ready heart because resurrection is always coming. Thank you for being here.
