Nobody likes to be judged by people, we've all struggled with wanting to be accepted, and we've all felt the pain of judgement and rejection.
Now I invite you to imagine what it would feel like if an entire country was not only throwing shade at you but sending death threats as well.
We saw this with David Beckham's recent documentary on Netflix.
And unfortunately this was also the case for this week's guest David Witko.
For over 15 years David was one of Australia's top international models getting paid to travel the world.
So naturally, when producers were recruiting for the bachelorette season 1 David was asked to be a participant.
But what started out as a potential love story or at the very least a fun experience, quickly turned into anyones worst nightmare as he was instantly type cast as the "arrogant model" and overnight painted as Australia's most hated man across all the media outlets.
But was this the truth of David's character or was this an intentional narrative to spark controversy and drive traffic to a new show using slick editing to turn a regular person into a super villain, with zero regard for the impact it would have on his work, his loved ones and his mental health.
On this episode David opens up about what really happened behind the scenes and how the whole thing impacted him, his life after the show, the highs, the lows and the wisdom he's taken from all this.
I personally thought it was disgusting how the TV show hung David out to dry and I feel proud that I could give him this platform to share his side of the story as well as inspire others who are feeling misunderstood, bullied or dealing with hate online.
Here is a clip from SBS Viceland where they covered his story also: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=775...
