He challenges us to move beyond a downsized and domesticated view of God, who only offers compassion without conviction. Nathan emphasizes that truly hearing God requires a "posture of openness" to however He chooses to show up, even when His voice sounds like thunder and shakes the conceptual boxes we place Him in.
