On this episode of the It Stands Written podcast, Justin sets the stage for one of the biggest priorities for the church: effective salt and light-and namely, in the oppressing reality of human-trafficking that is destroying our country. Jesus does not tell us to BE the salt and light of the earth, He tells us that we ARE the salt and light of the earth (Matt 5:13-20). It's time for us to act.

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to the It Stands Written podcast. This is a podcast devoted to bringing clarity, conviction, and courage through the unchanging truth of God's Word, applied to the real issues shaping our world today. I'm Elijah, and before we jump into today's message, I want to give you some important context for this conversation. Recently, Pastor Justin stepped into a new role as the national director for an organization called Not In Our City. This work is focused on confronting and ultimately thwarting human trafficking, one of the most devastating and dehumanizing realities in our world today. And from a biblical standpoint, this is not merely a social issue or a cultural concern. No, a-at its core, it is a spiritual issue. And that's because human trafficking strikes directly at what God has declared sacred. That's the inherent dignity of every human life, each person created in His image. A couple of years ago, Pastor Justin delivered a message at Desert Bible Church that framed this issue through scripture, not just through data or awareness, but through the heart of God for justice, for the oppressed, and for those who are exploited and forgotten. That message serves as a foundation for what this podcast is becoming. In the coming episodes, we'll introduce you to survivors, men and women who have walked through unimaginable darkness and are now living testimonies of redemption. We'll also be talking with leaders and organizations on the front lines, those engaged in rescue, restoration, and prevention, all anchored in the hope of the gospel. But before we go there, we need to begin here. We need to understand what God says. We need to feel the weight of it the way he does, and we need to align our hearts with his. So what you're about to hear is that message, a biblical foundation for why this matters, why it cannot be ignored, and why the people of God must engage. So now, here is Pastor Justin.
