Thank you for joining us on this week’s episode of the It Stands Written Podcast. Today’s conversations focuses on two main theological systems - covenant theology and dispensationalism. We seek to offer a clear understanding of both schools of thought and the ways each approach’s and organizes the stories of Scripture. As we explain each perspective we look at how they read the Bible as a whole, while differing on things such as the continuity of Covenants or the relationship between God and Israel. As we approach the text we are sure to remind everyone that we must not impose our system onto the text but let God’s faithful Word reveal and shape itself so that we may submit ourselves under it. Grab your theological glasses as you engage in a deep conversation that has thousands of years of history behind it.

Listeners, welcome back to the It Stands Written Podcast! On this week's episode, Justin, Braden, Elijah, and Ernest are kicking off a new series on a topic pertinent to today's discussions of Israel and the Church: Dispensationalism and Covenant Theology. They begin by breaking down hermeneutics, a key aspect of doctrinal and scriptural interpretation. They distinguish between the different levels of doctrine--primary, secondary, and tertiary--making sure to highlight that the topic of this new series falls into the secondary level of doctrine. Next, they expand upon authorial intent and its importance in interpreting Scripture the way God intended for it to be interpreted. Once they have covered those bases, they get into the rules of hermeneutics, listing practical ways listeners can be sure that they are interpreting passages correctly. Lastly, they discuss the ways that readers should approach the Old and New Testaments by answering questions about how to handle the seemingly vast interpretational differences between them, focusing on the idea that the New Testament brings new divine revelation, and not a reinterpretation of the Old Testament. Buckle up for a rich theological conversation that is sure to give you clarity and confidence as you handle the Word of God.

This week's episode brings you a discussion on sinful logic that is not found in the world but rather in the church. The men look at different fallacies or dangerous lines of thinking that either keep Christians stuck in sin or justifying it. While we need to make a defense against those who oppose Christianity, we must not forget to bring a defense against our brothers or sisters who are in sin, with gentleness and reverence. Fallacious thinking includes examples such as believing that you had to sin, blaming God for not stopping you, doing what makes you happy, or thinking sin does not hurt anyone. This is not an opportunity to make ourselves feel holier than thou, but rather to pull our family from the fire and to cause them to see what their sin has blinded them to. We pray this episode can shed the light of God's promises on the things in the darkness.

In this penultimate episode of the Dismantling Sinful Logic series, the guys list and define different types of fallacies, including Red Herring, Straw Man, Ad Hominem, and Appeal to Tradition or Authority. They unpack why these fallacies are types of sinful logic and how Christians can easily spot and refute them. They bring up several Biblical and real-world examples of these fallacies, noting that they stem all the way back from Satan's sinful logic against Eve in the Garden of Eden. Most importantly, they analyze ways that Christians can refute this sinful logic by following the examples of Jesus and Paul, who were expert logicians. Follow along as they engage in a very practical conversation that is sure to help listeners handle logical fallacies in a God-honoring way. Fallacies are enticing and deceptive, so it is vital for Christians to be keenly aware of their dangers and equipped to dismantle them.

In this week's episode of our series titled Dismantling Sinful Logic, the guys bring you a discussion that will challenge your intellect and cause you to search the Scriptures deeper. God has placed certain laws of logic that we must be governed by. Our job is to look into those laws and use them to bring truth to ourselves and to those who are perishing. As light casts out darkness, truth must cast out the lies the world is believing. We look at laws such as the law of non-contradiction, double negation, the excluded middle, etc. We point out a plethora of such laws used throughout Scripture that form our theology and stop those who contradict it. Grab your Bible and put on your thinking cap for this week's episode.

On this week's episode of the It Stands Written Podcast, Justin, Braden, and Elijah dive into a conversation about logic and fallacies. They examine Scriptural examples of people using sinful logic against Jesus, who would perfectly refute it each time. Additionally, they bring up the origin of logical fallacies: Satan's tempting of Eve in the Garden. Like all things, God created logic and therefore intends for His people to live in accordance with it, though the Enemy tries to refute and twist this logic to lead believers astray. They bring listeners into a practical conversation of what logic is, how we are to operate from it in light of the fact that God created it, and how to help believers stand clearly on the truth and dismantle sinful lies.

Welcome back to another episode of the It Stands Written Podcast! On this week's episode, the dudes take on a topic that is near and dear to most Americans' hearts: free speech. They discuss the biblical ramifications of it, taking into consideration the laws and commands the Bible describes regarding speech. What if the freedom that our country holds so dear is actually unbiblical? They dare to broach this reality, touching on biblical principles that limit our speech and encourage censorship of unwholesome or unbiblical ideas. They bring all of this to a close with a practical examination of what our speech should look like in order to honor the Lord and let our words lead people closer to Christ. Ultimately, they emphasize the fact that we should not let our country's laws determine what our freedoms are, but instead, those freedoms come from God's Word. Buckle up and grab your Bible, because this topic has the potential to ruffle some patriotic feathers. Join the boys as they discuss how we can choose God over country.

Welcome back to this week’s episode of the It Stands Written podcast. The boys are back again to discuss any controversial topic: DEI and racism. As always, they approach this conversation from a biblical standpoint, seeking to bring the clarity of God’s truth to topics that are often described as complex and nuanced. They discuss what the Bible has to say about the human race and our interactions with each other, from Genesis to Revelation. Finally, they hone in on the sin of partiality: Christians are to treat everyone the same, with love and compassion, as there is no distinction in the eyes of the Lord.

Welcome back to this week’s episode of the It Stands Written podcast! Today, the guys are back with a biblical discussion of immigration. They handle the issue from a Christian perspective — how should we see illegal immigration in light of God’s Word? They distinguished between invasion and immigration, mentioned biblical examples of sojourning, and reviewed the idea that we are all strangers and aliens here on earth until Christ calls us to our true home. Another important point they honed in on is the fact that we need to be the aroma of Christ to everyone, regardless of their circumstance. We are to share the love of Christ with everyone we encounter, regardless of their citizenship status or place of origin. Join the guys as they delve into a very complex and divisive topic, seeking to handle it in a God-honoring way.

In a world growing increasingly darker and darker, there needs to be a light that shines in the midst of it. Today's episode brings you a look into the truths Charlie Kirk stood for that bring light into the midst of this world's most evil darkness. The guys of the It Stands Written Podcast take a look at different issues plaguing this world and how we as Christians can push back and advocate for righteousness. They cover the topics of abortion and the LGBTQ movement/transgender "rights." They encourage you not to shy away from what God has said but to stand boldly for it as the pressure continues to grow. They simply open God's Word and read what it says. As followers of Jesus, we must call sin that which God calls sin and protect the beautiful life that He has created. They also touch on the amazing truth of redemption through the blood of Christ. No matter what your sins are, there is hope of receiving forgiveness and a new heart.

Welcome to this week's episode of the It Stands Written Podcast. This past Sunday, we celebrated the Reformation, a pivotal time in Church history when courageous men stood up for the truth of Scripture and fought to protest false teachings. Ernest brought us a special message at church that we now pass on to you guys, our podcast listeners. As people have gone before us to fight the good fight, let us be encouraged to imitate them as they imitate Christ. We have a Gospel to preach and we must not let anything get in the way of our duty.

We hope this podcast finds you well as you listen to this next episode on politics and religion where Justin and Braden discuss a controversial question. As we read Scripture it is made clear that we must submit to God as seen in His commands and that we must also submit to the government as shown in Romans 13 and 1 Peter 2. How do we reconcile these two when the government steps in the way of God? Do we choose obedience to one command over the other? Listen closely as the answer may surprise you. As we serve the living God we must always submit to Him first and listen to our conscience. As we see America's direction, we must prepare to face these circumstances that we may one day have to face.

Welcome to the It Stands Written Podcast where we have expository conversations about the Bible and how it applies to us today. Today's episode brings crucial application to the life of the Christian when it comes to government and voting. As we saw in the last episode how God created government, we now talk about how it is our job to run it as God would intend. However, there is never a perfect nation or perfect policies in a world of sinful leaders. As we face the challenges of a sin-cursed world we must be the light that shines in a dark place. We need to protect the family, economy, lives, and our ability to worship. Listen in as we find out how to respond in a nation so hardened to the gospel.

This week, Justin and Braden introduce you to a new podcast series about politics and religion. These are the topics that many avoid at family gatherings or social events. However, despite the negative stigma behind these topics they must be discussed. Scripture clearly shows us that God has created government and how it should function. As Christians, we must have the right response and action towards what happens in our country. With different candidates to vote for or different laws that may be passed, we must act in a way that honors the Lord. Listen to this introductory episode as the guys lay out the pillars of government seen from the beginning of Genesis. As always, remember that our King sits on His throne regardless of what is ahead of us.

Welcome to another edition of the It Stands Written Podcast. Braden brings you 2 new special guests for another church testimony episode. This week's episode brings the story of a wonderful couple from church, Juan and Gloria, who were formerly Jehovah's Witnesses but have since come to faith in Jesus Christ. They share their story of God's faithfulness in bringing them together in marriage. While this episode is meant for encouragement it also serves as a teaching on the Jehovah's Witness religion. Juan and Gloria discuss the falsehood of this religion and how what they teach is damning to one's soul who believes it. We invite you to read your Bible as you listen closely.

This is an area of great confusion and disunity. As the guys approach this topic they do so in a way to keep unity with believers while also providing clarity on the matter. With the discussion of the gifts of the Spirit and which ones are still in play today, how do we respond to everything we hear? Have any gifts ceased? What exactly are tongues? Perseverance of the saints - a doctrine that states when someone comes to salvation they are eternally secured and that salvation can not be taken away or lost. This week's episode of the It Stands Written Podcast includes Justin and Braden who will take you into the details and intricacies of this topic. As we form our theology we must do so by the Word of God. This is what the guys stay faithful to do as they discuss. Furthermore, they will explain how this holding and securing of believers is solely the work and ministry of the Holy Spirit. He puts a seal on us that no one can break. If you have questions about the loss of salvation or may know somebody you were sure was saved but fell away, let this episode shine some light on your situation. This is the Holy Spirit's work and He will be faithful to do so.

In this episode of the It Stands Written Podcast, the guys continue their conversation from the previous episode where they talked about the promised Holy Spirit. This episode now looks at that promise fulfilled in the New Testament. Justin and Braden also examine the Pentecost event and define what the Holy Spirit was doing. With so many views of Pentecost and what the Holy Spirit does, we must look carefully at what Scripture tells us. Were there multiple Pentecosts? What is speaking in tongues? Should we have a Pentecost every church service? These are the questions the guys will address in this episode. Open up your Bible and follow along with the conversation.

This week's edition of the It Stands Written Podcast puts you in the perspective of Old Testament believers and their longing for the promised Holy Spirit. Justin and Braden look at passages that promise the Holy Spirit would come to earth and indwell Christians. They also explain selective indwelling where the Holy Spirit would come on people for a specific time and purpose. Even nonbelievers had the Holy Spirit. Old Testament believers longed for the Spirit to come because they saw His ministry and the work in their lives. When we look back and see their longing we must also look in the present to see this promise fulfilled in us and cause us to worship.
