This is Soul Therapy. I'm your host, Jen Hully, a professional intuitive guide, therapeutic coach, and photographer obsessed with helping others to live authentically fulfilling lives. This week we are talking about conspirituality, what it is, how to spot it, and what fear and freedom have to do with it. Now, why are we talking about conspirituality? It sounds spooky, right? It is a little spooky, and we're talking about it because a couple things have been coming up in my day-to-day where I just find myself getting like fired up in this not like anger energy, but like mama bear energy, where I'm like, oh, don't you dare do that to my people. And by my people, I just mean like the general human race or like audience on TikTok. And it started with a TikTok creator, to be honest. There is this TikTok creator whose content has been kind of like in my awareness probably for like at least a year. I would say maybe like last summer around this time. He sort of popped up into my for you feed. And every time I see their content, I find myself getting like outraged and wanting to like scream things from the roof. And instead of screaming from my roof, because that might make me, you know, get bylaw police called on me, I'm gonna scream it into my podcast. But we're not gonna scream it. We're actually gonna have a conversation about it because so there's this TikTok creator, one, right? But I also finally, like late to the party, a year later, watched that Escaping Twin Flames documentary on Netflix. And that shit is fucked up. And it made me mad. Again, mad, enraged, not with like a destructive anger, but this mama bear energy of like, don't you hurt my people. Like, how dare you do that to somebody that I care about, even though I'm not connected to these people in the document or by any shape or form in the real world or in the 3D, but I think it just goes to show that there are these energetic threads that connect all of us because what they were going through and the pain that they're feeling is my pain, right? Like it's it's connected. It's all we're all connected on a grid of energy. And both of these things that I've watched, okay, they have a similar talking point. They're a little bit different. The TikTok creator talks a lot about um spiritual ascension and like healing and moving yourself up from the 3D to the 5D reality. And we can kind of get into that a little bit, um, just to give you a gist of what that means if you're not familiar with those concepts. But he talks about how, you know, we're shifting into a space of like higher spiritual awareness, you know, stripping away things that aren't working anymore. But he speaks that the road to experiencing this altered state of being is through self-healing. Like heal yourself enough, be in love and light enough so that you can experience this good thing. And it was the same with the twin flames. It was like heal your shit enough so that somebody will love you. And both of these pieces of content had that story in the nucleus of it that you have to heal yourself enough in order to reach some altered state of being. And there's this like contrived polarity between something that's good and something that's bad, something that's desired, something that's undesired, right? And basically it's like a complete shit show wrapped up in pretty paper to make you think that it's all about healing and love and spirituality, but really it is so, so toxic and so, so harmful. And why are we having this conversation today? What is the intention behind this episode? And the intention is to have a critical conversation about the role of spirituality, coaching, self-healing, boundaries, and love so that we can really step into our personal power and become very critical consumers of everything that's in front of us, all the content, all the groups, all the resources, etc., all those things that are within our, you know, our reality that we have access to at our fingertips. Because I believe that the purpose of a spiritual journey is to bring you back home to yourself. Okay. It's to get you to a space where you're really aligned with who you are at your core, who you were when you came into this world before you were like taught certain things, before you learned to be afraid of certain things. It's who you are underneath like societal conditioning, fear, and disconnection. It is a place of wholeness and peace, but where there's this concept of like toxic spirituality or toxic posity or toxic healing journeys, as in the Twin Flames documentary and this dude on TikTok, who I'm not going to name FYI because I don't want to give him any more of a platform than he has. But when you get into these spaces that have this toxic spirituality, where we get the term conspirituality, the exact opposite happens. And instead of coming home to yourself and stepping into your power and feeling peace and love and acceptance of who you are and support, you end up feeling fear, disconnection. You are completely powerless because you begin to shift your internal locus of control and power onto this other person. It moves from within you to outside you. And that's no good for anybody, right? We have to be critical, consumers. There's so much shit in front of our face every day. Like I said, podcasts, book, books, social media, coaching programs, groups that you can join, Facebook things, everything that we have to really be able to critically assess like, is this really standing in a space of like self-love and growth, or is it actually from a perspective or a purpose of like control and control to feed somebody else's fear or to like placate someone else's fear or need for certain things? And before we dive into it, I just want to give you an update and remind you that June and July calendar, my June and July calendar, is live on my booking link. The link is in the show notes here. You can see sessions for soul therapy sessions, which are coaching sessions. There are intuitive readings. And I want you to go and I want you to tap that link that's in the show notes, and I want you to choose a time slot for yourself, even if you don't know what you're looking for, because that's what these free taster sessions are for. And you'll notice when you click on that link, yes, you can go and book your intuitive reading, you can book your soul therapy session right away, but you can also book a free 30-minute taster session, which is a chance for you and I to connect online. We will have a chat and we'll try out some of the strategies and modalities that I use to guide you to sort of see what kind of support might be beneficial for you. It's not a sales call. I'm not gonna get you on there and be like, welcome to my seven-week program. If you listened to the episode last week, you know that that's not what this is. This is just an opportunity to connect with people who may not feel like they're completely ready to step into an intuitive reading or step into a therapeutic coaching session, or people who aren't sure what it is that they want, but like they know, okay, I know I'm supposed to reach out, but I'm not there yet, or I'm a little bit confused. It is fun and it is free, and it just gives you that chance to like play out and dabble in and play with and you know, try on some of the work and some of the modalities that are available to you, but in a way that's gonna benefit you immediately, right? Like I said, they're not sales calls, they're a chance to just give you a little taste or session of what it's like to work together, but also help you in that space. So click the link, grab your session, and I will see you there. Now, for this week, I I'm not gonna pull a card. Funny enough, I don't feel I don't know why. I don't feel compelled to pull a card for this conversation. And maybe I don't know why. I'm just going with my intuition. It says don't pull, don't pull a card this week. So we're not pulling a card this week. I do have card readings up on Instagram. Should you want to um dive into something deep. It was like a 25-minute uh collective reading that I did live on Instagram. You can go watch it on my uh, it's on my grid. I put it up there. And there's also been some mini readings on TikTok. So if you're looking for a collective message, go over there and check it out. Because right now, what we're gonna dive into is just the nitty-gritty of this like complete shit show that is conspirituality. So as we dive into this, I want to like, let's get a little bit of background information about, I guess, where this fire came up in me and this need to be like, we have to talk about this. We have to, have to, have to talk about this. Yes, this TikTok creator. I would say they're an influencer, to be honest, a spiritual influencer, if you can call anyone that. But the term influencer feels so, so appropriate here because that is really an accurate representation of what their content is created to do. It's literally created to influence the audience's thoughts, feelings, and actions. Um, I've never liked the term influencer because it sounds like mind control, but this is kind of what's playing out over there. So it feels appropriate. And most of this content is about, like I said, ascending to a 5D reality, how we will get there, what we need to do, which he says is like you need to release your fears, you need to embrace love, and you need to reject some of these societal institutions that he feels are part of an agenda of control and like dimming our light. Like he talks a lot about um a shared digital economy and other things. He has a lot of opinions about world events and whatnot. And I started watching his stuff because A, I found his thoughts interesting initially. I find anybody's thoughts interesting. I tend to approach most content uh with neutrality in the beginning and just be like, let me just hear because I'm interested to hear other people's perspectives, right? I'm always seeking new perspectives and I'm just fascinated by what other people see, perceive, experience, what they put out there. And around um last year, I think it was like October, I noticed that he started posting a lot of content that was very, very specific, um, very specific about a worldwide event that was going to take place on a specific day in October. Like it started the beginning of October and it was like, this is the date. Like he was saying, this is the date. And he was saying, like, you need to be prepared, make sure you've got money because you're not gonna be able to access money. Get your money out of the bank, make sure you've got some food set up. Uh, he was even telling people to like consider purchasing land collaboratively. Like he was like, maybe we all need to pool our money together and start buying land so that we can, you know, begin our new community, our 5D community when this happens. And I when he started that, I was like, what? I was like, is this because I like I engage with a lot of spiritual content. I listen to like channelers, psychics, mediums. I do my own meditative practice, receive intuitive messages and whatnot. And the thing that I've come to learn is like often things are really not really generic, but are fairly generic. There's a lot of themes and stuff. It's really rare that you get something that's like, on this date, this is going to happen. Um, that has happened for me before where I'm like on that, like this is what has is happening right now. Uh, and that's because it was tied to something like that I needed to attend to. It was, it was very important. Um, but for the most part, a lot of it is so it's a little more open because there's elements of like free will in things, right? Like you think of the butterfly effect, one small action can kick off another thing and another thing, and a whole new timeline reality sort of unfolds. So for someone to come down and be like, this is going to happen, I'm always like, I find it fascinating. Maybe because I don't have the courage to do that, right? Like one of the things I'm still working on is like, is putting out there the things that I receive. Um, and maybe the fact that he was just like, this is happening was like triggering to me or like caught my attention because I don't feel comfortable doing that, right? And so I was watching it and I was like, okay, I was like, and like I'll say, very spiritual. I am very, I think everything is spiritual. I am quite intuitive. Like I said, I have conversations with my own guides, I believe, in a lot of stuff that maybe some people, hopefully, none of you that are listening to this podcast, because I think if you're listening to this podcast, you believe in the same things that I do. Um, you know, I'm always I have that open mind, but there's this, there's this like mythbuster vein in me that's like, mmm, that sounds like bullshit. Let me prove. Like, I always want to prove that something is right by proving that it isn't wrong. Do you know what I mean? John Edward talks about this a lot, actually. I listened to him on a podcast, and it was a really eye-opening interview to hear him talk about how I don't know if he used the term skeptic or, but he said that he's one of those people that like he goes out to prove his intuition wrong because he that's how he validates it. Like he goes out to prove that this is wrong, right? And I'm kind of the same way. So, like when this guy was talking, I was like, mmm, I'm gonna check back on that date because I don't think this is pot, like this is wild what you're saying, right? So I'm I kept a note of him, I was like, I didn't follow him, but I was like, I'm just gonna go back and check on this date. Also, because he was like, let's buy, let's buy um property together. I was like, that's kind of weird, right? Like he wasn't outwardly asking people to send money, but he was like setting up the plate. Like he was setting the table to be like, I could see him one day being like, you know, venmo me the venmo this the I'll say PayPal, PayPal me the money, blah, blah, blah. Right. And I was just like, okay, what's going on here? So I started watching, paying more attention to him. And um he kept saying, you know, this is coming, it's happening, it's this date, and people would be freaking the fuck out in the comments. Oh my god, am I gonna be okay? What's gonna happen to my family? Is everything gonna be destroyed? Am I gonna lose my job? Do I need to worry about school? Do I need to pay my mortgage? Like all this crap. And he just kept saying, you know, you're gonna be okay. You've chosen a path of love and healing. And if you're all if you're interacting with my content, you're seeing this content, you're part of this 5D timeline, and you will ascend to this new earth. And those who are stuck here in the 3D reality, like Earth is gonna split into two realities. One will be stuck in a space of pain and fear, and everything will stay as it is, but actually get worse. But the rest of us will be challenged with moving forward and making this new earth. And like I said, he talked about this specific event. He went down to the date. He's like, it's happening on this date. Two realities are gonna happen. One is about love and kindness and peace, and one is about control, fear, pain, and suffering. And the comments were, like I said, on fucking fire. Like I spent more time reading the comments because I believe there's so much responsibility we have when we post online, especially to like maintain your comment section, right? To like establish a culture around your community and like boundaries of what is allowed and what is not allowed. And the comments were just like, What's gonna happen to my family? What if I'm healed and I'm in the light, but they're not? Am I gonna lose my son? My son's on a trajectory to this. I can't live without him. Are my kids gonna be able to come with me? And people even saying, like, get me off this earth. I'm so fucking sick of this place. I'm ready for it to ascend. Bring it on, bring it on. I'm so done. And he just, you know, he would just respond, like, get your water, have food on hand, withdraw cash, and be ready to congregate together in love. And so, like, I was watching this like a hawk because part of me was like, is this for real? Like, I'm not gonna lie, there's part of me was like, damn, like, I don't know that I don't know that I'd want to go through that, but let's see. And so I kept watching, and you know what, the day came. I had told my friend about it. I was like, let's just keep an eye out. I was like waiting for every like the sky to fall. Nothing happened. Nothing fucking happened. So I went back to his comment section because there were people that were like, I'm coming back for you on the day that this doesn't happen to call you out on your shit. Because there were a few people that were chirping him and being like, you're just creating fear, you're whipping up fear. There's absolutely you're not doing anything to help. You're creating more of what you say we don't want. And so I was like, I want to see what's happening. Like, kind of like when, like, you know, like the cops show up to someone's house on the street and you're like, ooh, what'd they do? And you want to like peek on them, you know. I was like, okay, get my popcorn, let's see what's happening. And the fucking video was gone. All the videos were gone. He had deleted every single video that said this was happening. And I was like, so many questions. So many questions where I was like, did you delete it because you knew you were consciously trying and intentionally trying to manipulate people and now you're like you're gonna get brought down for it? So you're deleting it, or are you deleting it because you're embarrassed? Like maybe you were so led by your intuition and you felt you were doing a service, and now you're like having to deal with this. Like, what does it mean to be wrong? And like, you know, again, holding space for all the possibilities. But I was like, that's really interesting that he deleted it. Um, and you know what? Like, I kind of forgot about this guy. He went away for a while, like he wasn't on my for you page, but TikTok brought him back on my for you page a couple months ago, and he was telling a new story, similar vein, of a global event that was set to take place. He keeps saying, or kept saying, late summer, early fall, overshoots. You know, it's not July and August, it's like September, October. And he said it's gonna be an event that has people back inside their home for three weeks. It's gonna be like a similar state to the pandemic, meaning everything's shut down, we're at home. He said, again, this is the splitting of timelines. One's going to 5D, one's going to 3D. You got to be prepared. Don't be scared. Know that if you're seeing my content, you're on your path to 5D, you know, blah, blah, blah. Wouldn't give specifics, wouldn't say when, just was giving like a timeline, like it's going to happen in the early fall. Um, and kept saying it's not about war and it's not a biological event, like it's not another illness or war. Like you don't have to worry about that. And people were like, Why won't you tell us? And he kept saying, I don't want to, you know, ignite panic. And they're like, You are igniting panic because you're dangling a carrot of like destruction and fear and saying bad things are happening, but don't worry about it, right? And again, comments on fire. People like, when is this happening? What do I need to do to prepare? What about my partner? What about my husband? What about my kids? They don't believe in this. They're they're not spiritual. Am I gonna have to leave them? Are they gonna be okay? Are they gonna be in pain? I can't live with myself if I know I leave my, you know, mom and she's not with me. And he's just like, stay in love, stay in peace, you'll be fine. Just in, you know, go home, be with your family, and everything will be fine in the end. And again, more chaos, people being like, give me the details. And he kept saying, I don't want to disclose because I don't want to create the mass panic of people like stockpiling toilet paper like during the pandemic. And just kept saying, like, it's big, it's gonna be like the pandemic, it's not the pandemic, relax. But he kept saying, everything's gonna shut down, communication worldwide will go down, money will cease to exist, governments will cease to exist, schooling will not happen. And he was like, it's this birthing of a new earth. Those who are ready for the new earth will be granted access. There's that story again: Us versus them, desired reality versus undesired reality, suffering versus love, light versus dark. And the ticket to this good place was keeping your vibration high enough so that you would be granted access and you would be included in this group of chosen ones to ascend to a new reality to start the new earth. And I was just like, that's when Mama Bear came out, and I was like, oh, you gotta be fucking kidding me. I was like, here we go again, because what I heard in my heart was this is division and segregation. This is not unity, this is not love energy, this is not healing and guidance, this is control and fear and ego and toxic desires for power, attention, and whatever else was feeding their motives. And it is absolute bullshit. Absolute bullshit. Now the Twin Flames documentary had a similar story, right? I'm not sure if you've watched it. If you haven't, go watch it. It's only three episodes, it's fascinating. But the story was if you were unblocked enough and healed enough, you would meet your true love, you would meet your twin flame. And it was something that was really desired, like that was how you were ascending to a higher, you know, spiritual existence. And those who are healed enough are going to be granted access to this ascended state of being through this other person. Now, how did you heal yourself and unblock yourself? It was this acceptance that all pain and all suffering and all hardship that you were experiencing on your journey to meeting this person or in being with this person was a reflection of your own pain and your own issues that needed to be resolved. They used something called the mirroring, like a mirror, I can't think what they called it, the mirror exercise. Um, and you were like if you were being abused, you were also the abuser of the cell yourself. So you were like prompted to look back and be like, well, how do I harm myself? Any pain or suffering or hardship became your creation and your responsibility to heal and transcend, or you would not experience this love. And again, like this TikTok content whipped up a whirlwind fear of panic, blame, doubt, just sheer horror, and like this, it created this energetic momentum through the actions of other people that were motivated by these forces to escape, you know, perceived hellfire or to be relieved of this pain, to be saved, to be safe. And these actions that people were taking to air quotes, heal themselves, were no longer coming from a space of self-love and alignment and self-belief. They became a tool to escape an unwanted reality. This, you know, the Twin Flames thing goes so much deeper because there was a lot of coaching sessions. I am using big air quotes on coaching, um, because it's nothing of the sort. If you're familiar with any kind of coaching or therapeutic relationship or um modality, and you watch this, you will realize that what this person called coaching was actually like a narcissistic abuse tactic, and there was So much abuse of power control and like direct harm caused to these people under the guise of coaching. Made me really fucking mad as well because coaching gets a bad rap, you know, out there. People think like anyone can be a life coach. It's true. Anyone can be a coach. You don't need credentials. I have credentials because I chose to get credentials in certain things like therapeutic art, uh, leadership, stuff like that. But you can just decide to be a coach. And I don't think everybody needs, I don't think you need credentials, to be honest. I think some people like it is their gift, but the danger in that is like literally anyone can be like, I'm a coach, you know. And so for that reason, the coaching industry gets a lot of flack because there's a there's people like this that get so much attention and then it discredits the entire industry and it just it pisses me off. Um, because it's an abuse of power, it's an abuse of title as well. You know what I mean? Like part of me is like, how dare you use the term coaching to label what you do? Um because, you know, it the TikTok guy, to go back to him, he wasn't calling himself a coach. But in a way, his content was indirect coaching, right? It's this same thread. He was looking, putting himself as like a spiritual leader. Like, if you're suffering, listen to me and I will show you the light, right? And his story was like, if you're suffering now, you're gonna continue continue to suffer and you need to heal yourself and you need to reject 3D reality and 3D pain so that you can get out of this place. And oh man, like I'm already like fired up because breathe. Uh the coaching industry, yes, getting such flack, but also out in the world, spirituality can be looked at by people, like there's a reason we use the term woo-woo because like we haven't really accepted that it's truth, right? There's part of us that feels like embarrassed to be like, oh, I believe in you know, magical things, magical thinking. But the the world is a magical place, and I believe it's spirituality, whatever shape or form that takes for you is your truth. And things like this, conspirituality or the twin flames, you know, narcissistic abuse dynamic. For people who haven't built a relationship with spiritual practices or haven't educated themselves and are really distanced from it, they will look at it and be like, yeah, all that stuff is fucked. You know what I mean? Like it just adds fuel to the fire for people that believe that that spirituality is a bunch of like cult leaders. You know what I mean? And it's not, and it's so unfortunate because that is the complete opposite. It's toxicity, it's control, it's narcissistic narcissism wrapped up in wrapping paper that looks like it's spiritual so that you'll be feel safe enough to unwrap it. It's that wolf. I'm seeing like and hearing a wolf in sheep's clothing, right? That's what it is. And that's where we have to train our bullshit radar, and we have to your bullshit radar is your intuition. It's your gut. And you have to be so connected to your gut and your bullshit radar and your intuition so that you can sniff out these wolves in sheep's clothing, right? That you can have the discernment to be like, that's not for me. Because what happens, I find often people approach spirituality or spiritual practices or even coaching. We approach these things when we're in a space of hurt or pain or discomfort and we're wanting things to get better. You know, it's not often that people are like, everything's amazing. I'm living my best fucking life. I have everything that I want. Let me go get a coach. Or, you know, like it's not often that that happens. There's always some path of or journey of not fixing, but moving out of something and we're seeking something, right? And we're seeking something usually to like alleviate pain or to have us feel more confident or to feel love. And that is usually what draws people into coaching realms or into spirituality. And we're so vulnerable in that space. And that's why we, the people that you work with have to have such strong ethics, and you have to have, as like the consumer, you have to have that bullshit radar. And you have to, even though you're seeking, it's not seeking answers, you're seeking a guide, right? Someone to hold your hand and go through this journey with you. And you've got to be able to sniff out the people that can do that and tune out the ones that are trying to detract you and keep you small or worse, make you smaller, make you less powerful, right? So the bullshit raider that was like going off in my head was this like this story that both of these things were spewing out was that you must be fully healed in order to experience something. Like that belief, anyone who tells you that in order to have what you want, in order to experience love, in order to be happy, you have to be fully healed. That belief sets the stage for a lot of self-abuse to happen. Because the reality is we will never be fully healed. Nobody will. You will never be fully healed. I will never be fully healed. Because we are always gonna go through things that are painful, that are there in our lives to help us grow. You think of a muscle when you're building muscle and lifting weights, the muscle tears a little bit, it's painful, but that's in order to make it stronger. So, this idea that like I will fully heal myself and then I will have everything I ever wanted is not true. And what it does, like I said, it can just set the stage for you to be punitive in your practices with yourself. Because there's no state of perfection, there's no state of purity, there's no state of ascension that you must have. And if you don't, you're gonna be cast into this lifetime of loneliness, pain, and hardship. Right? We're all human. We're all a work in progress. We're all tapped into our own free will and the free will of others. And we're always gonna be on the receiving end, other people's free will, right? Nothing is ever that within our control. And if we believe that when I fully heal this or fully unblock this, then everything's gonna come rolling in. We're believing that we have more control over everything than we actually do, right? And that's our egoic mind. That's the mind that wants to keep us alive, the part of your brain that's like, I got you, you're not gonna die. I like to think I'm in the driver's seat. And we like to believe that, like, if we just set everything perfectly, then we're not gonna be in pain. And what happens is it doesn't go that way. You know what I mean? It doesn't. And like I said, we're there's so many moving parts. And if we're growing and shifting and changing, there will be pain, there will be hardship, and there can still be good things along the way. We can still experience joy and love and connection while we work through those things, while we're on the highs and the lows. Our journey as humans and our journey as people, like it, you know, it is about self-love and it is about coming home to ourselves, seeing ourselves for who we are, supporting ourselves with the things that we need. And quite often that means we need to like speak out and stop something by placing a boundary, right? And with content like this or influences like this, we have a responsibility to stop it, to hold that boundary, be like, mm-mm, not in my universe. You're not coming in. You know, I feel like we can't continue to strip away our boundaries. We can't continue to put power outside of ourselves on this quest to be high vibe. That's self-abandonment. That's saying, like, I don't know what's best for me, and I'm just gonna like put all my power and all of my energy and my life force into this other person. We never ever do that. Where it's all about, like I said, coming home to yourself, holding yourself, supporting yourself, seeing yourself. I think, I fully believe. Nobody has it figured out like what the purpose of life is, but my best guess is that the purpose of life and why we come here is to fully return home metaphorically to ourselves. Like I said, to keep growing. Life is a journey of learning more about who you are and developing ways to support your growth and to support yourself. Life is a journey of learning to see yourself from this lens of like radical self-acceptance and self-love in the highs and the lows and the things we're proud of and the things that we're ashamed of. It's a journey of learning to discern, to learn to look fear in the eye and say, like, nope, not today. To be human is to do the work that's needed to grow and change, but also embrace this ultimate act of self-love and embody this notion that even if nothing changes, that we are still worthy of our experience, that we are still good and we are still whole, and that this experience of air quotes negative emotions and energies, it's just part of being here. We are just here to be human. We are not here to be this perfectly ascended, out-of-body being. Right? I, like I've said, I am spiritual as fuck. I believe everything is spiritual. I really do. But I acknowledge that I'm a human, I'm having a human experience, and that spirituality is a practice that helps me connect to my humanness. It's not a practice that I use as an effort to connect with or embody some spiritual existence that's like on another plane, right? Like we're here on earth for a reason. This is earth school, some people call it. We chose to come here. We chose to be human. We chose to be imperfect, we chose to experience fear and anxiety and love and connection and hardship because to be human is to make mistakes. It's to fuck up. To be human is to be scared, to be human is to cry. To be human is to love and to grow, right? To be humans is to just live in this constant state of polarities and hold space for this contrast that we're experiencing. And when we engage with spiritual content, coaching, or like self-help resources, we've got to be critical, critical consumers so that the things we choose to support our journey actually support us and support us in growth, in developing confidence, in developing our voice, in connecting with our heart and connecting with the things that we actually desire, not getting smaller and smaller. And if you go watch the Twin Flames documentary, you'll see this. These people started as whole humans who had, you know, dynamic lives who were seeking love, and their their world got smaller and smaller and smaller and smaller. And they rooted down more in fear. I'm not enough. I need to do this. This is my fault. You know, it became very, very obviously very toxic, very harmful. And this conspirituality content that I'm talking about, this dude on TikTok, he's not the only one. There's a lot, you know. I see a because the way TikTok is, you know, you watch one video and they're like, ooh, you like this. Let me send you more. And that's when I'm like, no, I gotta like go watch some dog videos for a while to sort of reset the algorithm. But there's so much out there that is trying to scare you and control you and make you believe that you have to jump through certain hoops in order to have what you want and to feel safe and to feel loved. And you can have those things now. You can have those things as you're imperfect, right? It's not this, you're not seeking a key to unlock some door that is invisible, like it's all around you right now. And when we come across content, when we come across resources, whether it's like a podcast, and even do this with like my podcast that you're listening to, when you come across emails or books or TikTok or whatever, ask yourself what is the agenda behind what I'm receiving? Like what purpose or purposes could exist behind this content that I'm engaging with? Is it to support my humanness? Is the agenda to move me or help keep me in a state of love and acceptance? Does it feel empowering? Does this content hold space for everything that I am, everything that I experience, and it values the lessons and the knowledge that reside in all of that? These are important things to ask ourselves as we're consuming stuff. If it's not, if it's not supporting your humanness, and it's not supporting that you're gonna fuck up, you're gonna experience pain, it's gonna be hard. Really question what is it trying to tell you? What is the purpose behind it? If it's not to help you do that, is it serving a purpose for them? Is it serving a purpose for them to feel special, to feel like they have a gift, or that they have power, or that they just feel validated? There's a lot of ego. We all have ego. We're like the goal is not to get rid of the ego, the goal is to work productively and in partnership with your ego. But quite often with conspirituality, what we see is the ego taking a toxic leadership position and almost controlling everything, right? And again, when we're looking at this content, ask yourself those questions like what's the hidden agenda? Is it supporting my humanness? Is it coming from a space of love and acceptance? Is it empowering? Is it holding space for everything that I am, everything that I experience? And does it value that? Does it value all that I am and all that I have and all that I live through? But the big question for me is is this creator or presenter or guide demonstrating ethical responsibility for what they're putting out there? Are they demonstrating emotional responsibility? Like, are they showing an indication that the words and the content they put out there might trigger somebody, might um lead somebody down a certain thought path? Are they recognizing the power that they have in their platform, in their space, and demonstrating a sense of responsibility and psychologically? Like, are they demonstrating ethical responsibility, emotional responsibility, and psychological responsibility? And above all else, I would question, not question, sorry, I would prompt you or guide you to ask yourself: does this make me feel powerful? Does it make me feel curious? Does it make me feel expansive, like there's possibility? Or does this make me feel small? Do I feel like I want to hide? Is it causing me to ruminate? Is it like cueing up looping thoughts about something? Am I feeling worse after doing the work? If you sit with those questions, whether in meditation or as like a talking point to yourself or a journal prompt, they should be able to guide you to make that decision as to whether this content is aligned for you. Spirituality, man. I would love to know if you've had any instances or any interaction with content like this. If you've come across stuff that maybe felt good but then led you down a path where like this is no longer appropriate for me or it doesn't feel like it's empowering, I'd love to hear your stories. Um, because I think it's important that we share this. You know, it's important that we share what we experienced or the things that we went through, not from a place of like to not harbor shame, to not harbor fear, but to just to really, I guess, build our own power, right? In our own voice and to remember that we are the best judge of our situation. And I'm gonna leave you with that. You got a lot to think about. I would really encourage you to keep those questions in the back of your mind as you engage with content and engage with people and engage with different opportunities and things that are in front of you at all hours of the day, because we are we have an infinite number of like choose your own adventure paths in front of us. And we get to choose our reality and we get to choose the path that we go down and the things that we will learn, the lessons. And if we keep grounded in those questions of is this empowering? Does this feel good? It will help guide us onto the path that feels most true for us. And now I want you to tune in on Instagram this week, next week, every week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, because I host free live events.
