Episode 110: PMDD Support Group
[00:00:00] Hello, this is the Living Well with PMDD podcast. I'm your host, Heidi Bradford, certified life coach, mom of five, and PMDD survivor. Happy to have you here. This podcast is for informational and educational purposes only and should not be considered health advice.
Hello, friends. How is your fall starting? I know we walked to school this morning, and my daughter said, "Oh, I like this. I like this weather." It was just a, a little bit cooler this morning.
If you're new to me, I'm Heidi. I'm a mom and a life coach. Also, a , health and wellness coach.
Today I want to share with you a new endeavor I'm gonna be doing, and it is a PMDD support group, and I wanna invite you to join the support group that I'm [00:01:00] creating.
This group is not professional mental health services. I'm not qualified to do that, and it is not past-focused, and it is not twenty-four/seven support. So what I'm hoping to create is a support group where we have, classes and coaching live.
This support group is different from other ones in that... Well, for one, it's obvious. It's a focus on PMDD, living well with PMDD. But then those groups are generally super huge, the person that answers you, you don't know who they are. You don't know their background. You don't know their experience. They can answer anonymously, and people can post questions anonymously. So I want this to be a little more intimate and getting help in real [00:02:00] time I think the value it brings is hearing and being heard, and then also brainstorming and problem-solving.
We're gonna have an area of growth each month that we'll focus on, and those four areas are intellectual growth, growing socially, physical growth, or growing spiritually. The class or the discussion I host at the beginning of our meetups will focus in that area. The rest of the time when you ask your questions, get coached, that's open topic. You can ask about SSRIs or about supplements or about a relationship issue you're having. So it's focused, but it's also open in that way. I hope that makes sense.
This is once a week live call on Zoom from [00:03:00] October through the end of January. We'll do all the holidays together and get you into the new year. Along with the live Zoom option, there is an optional online community just for people in this support group.
That's where you can take questions outside of the Zoom time to where other people in the group can answer those questions, and I will be there too.
There will be replays available. The live calls will be on Tuesdays at twelve PM Central Time. So ten AM Pacific, eleven AM Mountain Time, twelve Central Time, one Eastern Time.
I really hope you'll join me. I find that women with PMDD often have, kind of a competing interest. We have this creative dreamer part of us that needs to be nourished, and we really do need to give [00:04:00] it time and attention. But then we also have this very grounded, organized part of us. We wanna be able to plan, we wanna count on ourself to follow through.
Those two things can feel like they're competing. But when you have good support and when you learn to support yourself, those can come into alignment. They can become balanced.
The content of these four months, I think I mentioned it, but it's four pillars of growth: intellectual, social, physical, and spiritual. The church programs that my children participate in focus in these four areas, and I just think that they're so brilliant that I just wanted to bring those in.
Then beyond that overall wellness. Meditation, lifestyle, mindset. We might even talk about SSRIs.
The cost of this four-month support group is four hundred and twenty-five dollars, [00:05:00] and the payment link is in the notes. I invite you to join. Come on this little four-month journey with me. It will be awesome.
We will take breaks for the holidays so you don't have to worry about doing this while you're also doing family and friend things in that time. If you have any questions about the group, please send me an email at heidi@heidibradfordcoaching.com.
Next week, I'm going to share with you a new dinner planning idea that's really helped me.
