From a young age, little girls are told to quiet down, be polite, and stop being “too much.” We trade their sparkle for “appropriate” and their freedom for approval.

In this episode I share my own story of rebelling against those expectations — goth phase, purple phase, pink phase, burlesque stages and all — and the quiet grief so many of us carry when we realize the wild girl we used to be has been buried under years of “shoulds.”

The good news? The Maiden isn’t gone. She’s just waiting for permission to come out and play again.

If you’ve been feeling the pull to bring more joy and silliness back into midlife, this one’s for you.

What’s one way your inner wild girl wants to come out and play right now? Send me a voice note — I read every single one.
