We have guests who share their experiences. We also have a lot of professionals that give us some advice and we do, you know, extensive research on this to provide all the resources to you and advice to you guys to help you get through this moment. You know this period in your life exactly so mark your calendars.
Speaker 1:So for Mondays, 9 am to 10 am on 99.1 FM, put us on P1 on your dial in your car, but whether you're, you know, at home in the car taking a morning walk, we want to be there with you to kickstart your week and hopefully provide some inspiration week and hopefully provide some inspiration, maybe a little empowerment and, of course, as always, plenty of laughs. Let's just take a snapshot of what we're going to be airing in Atlanta during the month of August. We've got some exciting stuff coming up. Monday, as we talked about next Monday is our first episode and we are going to be talking about youthful skin with one of our favorite estheticians, Paige, and guest speakers. So that's going to be a very exciting episode.
Speaker 2:Yeah, she's going to help, you know, teach us how to unveil the secrets of youth. Um, things that you can do to, you know, take care of yourself while you're in the sun. Um, you know, regimens that you can keep up on, right, or?
Speaker 1:even Some tips and tricks, like using a silk pillowcase, which was an aha moment for me for skincare and, as I learned most recently, it also has a great impact on your eyelashes as well. So, which isn't a big deal, you might think, until I was recently told that I pretty much don't have any bottom eyelashes on the left side of my face and she's like so you sleep on the left side? Huh, I was like, how do you know that? But anyways, and she also recommended using a silk pillowcase and I said I've heard of that but I just haven't done it. I don't know why, I don't like it, but I don't.
Speaker 2:But anyways, just little little things like that that might be able to, you know, help change something for you, right, and it's also I think she mentioned too it's good for your hair, because hair breakage, yes, is also very common. Yes, yeah, just a lot of really cool little tips and tricks. The next episode that we'll go into is midlife, more focused on midlife skin care. So anything that you're experiencing once you start going through these hormonal changes um page really offers a lot of education and insight on some of the things that happen to us once we get into those hormonal changes and things that we can do to treat it, um, hopefully prevent it from happening yes um, but it's.
Speaker 2:That was one of my favorite episodes.
Speaker 1:I really liked that one and then we also have midlife dating. Oh my gosh. So ashley has a partner. Tracy is single. Um, I tried this new thing called pear ring p-e-a-r-r-i-n-g, so it's kind of an irl, which is funny.
Speaker 1:I'm like in real life I had to look up an acronym. The other day somebody was at work was like all capitals o-f-c. Exclamation point. I'm thinking what the hell is that? So many of them, of course, but anyways. Irl for dating. But it's a ring that you sign up and they send you this ring. It's like a plastic ring and you wear it. It's really cute though.
Speaker 2:It is kind of cute.
Speaker 1:It's cute and the purpose is that when you're out, you're supposed to wear it all the time Oops, I'm not wearing mine right now, but you're supposed to wear it all the time and then you'll see other individuals. The goal is to see other people that are also wearing the ring, so you know that they're open and perhaps approachable. And then they also do events local events in various markets. But that was kind of a funny one, I love the dating episode.
Speaker 1:I think that was probably one of our most downloaded episodes I think it's fun to talk about dating.
Speaker 2:No, no matter what your age is you know, like it's just, but midlife is definitely more interesting, it's definitely interesting, so that's coming your way.
Speaker 1:Um, we have all kinds of things like manifestation, unleashing your power of manifestation.
Speaker 2:Yes, that was one of my favorites as well I like that.
Speaker 1:we actually have a couple of episodes because we liked it so much and there was so much to talk about, right, and I had a revelation, yeah, during one of those episodes, when I had pulled back um vision board, if you will, that I had from years ago and looked at it today and it was quite amazing because so many things have come true.
Speaker 2:I didn't even remember it.
Speaker 1:I did I manifested it and didn't even remember Just in August. So another exciting topic Mind mapping, mind mapping.
Speaker 2:Decluttering your brain. That was an interesting technique that I read about and really wanted to share with everybody. It kind of goes hand in hand with manifestation in some ways, but it really helps you to kind of you know you can get really overwhelmed with everything that's going on in your life because you're going through so many physical changes and a lot of times you're going through other changes, such as career or relationship or empty nesting, and so it can be really overwhelming to have all of this on your mind, and so this episode really helps you kind of separate these things and deal with them individually and not feel so overwhelmed. So, yeah, I really liked that.
Speaker 1:Yeah it was a great episode um a lot of things that helped me. You know just from um us talking about it. Oh, self-awareness was another good one that we talked about, because you go through so many changes in midlife.
Speaker 2:Well, and I think you know, up until you know midlife, you're taking care of everybody else, right, and you're focused on your career and your kids and your partner, possibly, and you know just where your your path, where you want it to take you, and then suddenly, you hit this point where you really start to think differently. You think about your past a lot more. You think about mortality more yes, things like that and so it's really important, as you go through these you know milestones in your life of maybe your kids moving out or your career changing and your body changing to really be self-aware and understand what your needs are and what you're experiencing and have that support group to help you through it.
Speaker 1:Yeah, very, very powerful episode and our most recent episode that we're going to start you off with, because it's one of my favorites already and we're super excited to have her back on with us very soon.
Speaker 2:But we journey through midlife with Belinda who found hiking to be healing and provide new horizons for her in her midlife. Yeah, and we're not just talking. Like you know, go to your local trail. And I mean she's going to Greenland and Iceland and all over the place, all over the United States, but, you know, also internationally. She does some amazing hikes and she has her own website. We'll share all of that with you on the episode. But she was very, very fun to talk with. She was fun.
Speaker 1:And she's from Australia so I love accent south southern people, any accent, it's southern, hispanic, australian, yeah, european, you know English accents all of them I love. But she was just such a delight and so energetic and so much fun. And she's just releasing a book a lot, a lot to talk about. She really has come into this and it's all been since COVID, you know. It was one of those moments where she looked in the mirror, wanted to change her life and wanted to change her life. So, yeah, join us for the journey. Very inspirational, very inspirational, very inspirational, and we're super excited to have her back on. But that's just kind of a snapshot of what we're looking at through the month of August and we have exciting episodes that we haven't yet recorded. On.
Speaker 1:Now is a new app for mental health therapy called Be Twixt B-E-T-W-I-X-T. It's a new app for mental health. There is a fee. There's a one-time fee. It's around $20. It depends on where you live, but it's a new direction in mental health and it's kind of an interactive adventure through a dream-like world that responds to your thoughts and feelings. It's highly recommended and if you're struggling with therapy you can't afford it, you can't open up, etc. This might be something for you. It doesn't feel like you're burdening anyone or anything with any of your problems and no one is there to judge you. So, basically, this app is designed to help you master your thoughts and emotions, which will improve your mental health, relieve stress and anxiety. I just feel like everybody could use something like that today.
Speaker 1:Another great one is 12 Alternatives to Botox for Smoother, wrinkle-free Skin, and it's based on an article that was published in Women's Health Magazine, and I don't know about you guys, I've actually never had Botox, but I'm excited to find out what these 12 alternatives are, and we're going to have multiple episodes on relationships, so one that's going to be pretty steamy is 20 relationship red flags to watch out for. Need I say more on that one? Another episode will be on taking a couple's quiz to see how well you know your partner. Now, of course, we're not going to forget about those single folks out there like myself, and we have a very special episode 131 questions to ask your crush if you want to get to know them better. I can't wait to dive into this one, and I also think it's going to give some good talking points for single people Maybe having a hard time keeping the conversation going and avoiding those awkward silences in a new relationship, which I personally believe that when you can sit there with someone and be silent and not feel no-transcript, that is golden.
Speaker 1:And the last spoiler that we're going to give you today is another episode on dating. We're going to have a special guest, nina, with us, and we're going to talk about worst dates ever. This is an episode that I'll have a lot to contribute, but we're always open to new ideas, our amazing community of listeners. If you are going through something right now, share it with us Letstalkmidlifecrisiscom or on any of our social channels.
Speaker 2:We wanted to thank you all once again for being such an amazing community. We couldn't have reached this milestone without you, and and all of our listeners and all your support.
