The Silver Mind Podcast
Welcome to the Silver Mind Podcast, where we unearth priceless wisdom from our silver-haired elders.
In a generation hyper-focused on shiny new things and youthful influencers, we often neglect the troves of timeless wisdom just waiting to be mined with the right questions from those who have already walked the path before us. By unraveling the captivating stories, invaluable life lessons, and enduring insights of those who have weathered the storms of life, we'll add them to our list of mentors, profit from their hard-won perspectives, and enable ourselves to finally stop reinventing the wheel. Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
On today’s episode we have George Durgin, a first generation college graduate who went on to become a Marine, aircraft maintenance officer, and distinguisehd aerospace engineer for some of the industry giants, whose career culminated in 12-15 patents on cutting-edge turbine components. Despite these achivements you’ll note that George is a very humble man, whose story starts in modest beginnings in Maine and features a more recent near-death experience that left him with only a 10% chance of survival.
If you have a relative or mentor over the age of 70 that you feel would have valuable perspectives for all of us, please submit their name and contact information in the link below, and we'll work to get them on the show!
