Your love life is a vehicle, that vehicle comes with the owner's manual, that owner's manual is the bible, the manufacturer is G O D. Get some. Oh, I got one for you today, friends. We going, we, oh, I got something for you today. Are you looking for a spouse? Trying to get married? Welcome to No Pills, love fully scripted. No blue pills, no red pills, just the truth. Cheers. Cheers. All right, are you looking for a spouse? This is, this is tailored a little bit for my men, okay, for my, for my fellas out there, all right? It's tailored for my fellas a little bit, but, a lot a bit, but man, there's something here for the ladies. Do not miss out on this. We're talking about Isaac and Rebecca today from the Owner's Manual, oh yeah. When I talk about, I found some heat, I found some gems. I found some gold, some, some purified seven times tried in the fire type silver. I've got it today for you. Friends. Oh man, I have got it today. If you follow the principles we outlined and unpacked today, I guarantee you, you won't find the wrong one. You can't go wrong with the owner's manual man over in Genesis chapter 24. Okay. Let me give you some context. Let me give you a backdrop to what's going on and what we're talking about. Abraham. Okay, Father Abraham, he had many sons, and many sons had Father Abraham. Some of you know what I'm talking about. Not all of you, but some of you know what I'm talking about. Abraham, he's old now, uh, his wife Sarah has died, and he wants to find a wife for his son Isaac. Okay, he's trying to find a wife for Isaac. So he comes up with this idea to send his servant to his homeland to find a suitable wife amongst his kinfolk. All right. It is what it is, friends. I don't have time to unpack all that. Uh, rather than finding some woman, some wife from Canaan, the Canaanites. Now, remember God has promised to give Abraham and his descendants the land of Canaan. So it's the land of promise. So he doesn't want him to find a wife there amongst all the wicked inhabitants that God is going to cast out because of their wicked deeds and the unrighteous acts. He doesn't want his son to be unequally yoked. So he sends him back to his father's house, so to say. Okay, paraphrasing here, giving it to you kind of quick and sweet. All right. Now, he did not want Isaac to go back with the servant on this journey. And some of you might be asking, why? Why couldn't Isaac go with the servant so he could put his eyes on his bride and help his servant? Select the right person for him to marry. Makes sense to me. Something I would've done, I would think if I was Isaac, but not gonna happen. No, no, no, no. So Abraham says no. If Isaac goes back, he may be tempted to stay. Mm-hmm . And never return back to the promised land that God has promised us. So he didn't want him to go back and meet the Zos. Yo Zo, what's going on? Where you been? What's going on? We having a barbecue later, man. We barbecuing some lamb stick around, fat cast from the stall. We don't want you to leave. So good to see you. You look like your daddy. You know how it goes down and you never leave, man. The goodbye that never happens. So he says, no, no, I don't want to risk my son being tempted to go back and live with my kinfolk and never come back to receive the promises that God has intended in promised him. There's a lesson here, friends. Oh, there's some heat right here. You have to be. Where God tells you to be when he tells you to be there in order to receive the blessings if there are any for you. Somebody needed that today. You hear what I'm telling you? You gotta be where God wants you to be. You need to be there at the appointed time or you're gonna miss the blessings. Okay, let's go over some more notes, some other things to note about Isaac that are important as we unpack this. Now remember, we're delving into the owner's manual to give us the tips to how to find what to look for when it comes to the perfect spouse for you, okay? To find your Rebecca. Alright? Isaac was 40 years old when he got married. Let that sink in some of y'all are like praise the Lord is not over for me yet You know me I got I got I got quite a few views when I say quite a few I mean a little views compared to everyone else on the internet besides myself. Okay, my little podcast channel will be here Shout out to those of you who are watching this man who are listening to this in your car Monday morning Shout out to you family I love you, man. I appreciate you, and I pray that this podcast has been a blessing to you in the way of your romantic relationships as a Christian. That is my prayer. And if you're not a Christian, I pray it's still been a blessing to you because I'm dealing with the truth from the owner's manual. You can't go wrong from the individual, the person who created relationships, God. Isaac was 40 years old, beloved, and then he got married to Rebecca. Shout out to him. All right, there's hope for some of us. I didn't say a lot of hope. I didn't say, I didn't say the probability was on our side, but he got married at 40. He trusted his father's decision making, his father's direction, his instruction, his counsel, to the point that he allowed his father to carry out what seems to me to be a crazy plan. Talk about a nail biter to send his servant to go find him a wife. Yo, I said Isaac trusted his father's plan in regards to his relationship. Fellas. Are you trusting God's plan for your relationships? Are you getting ahead of God? Come on. He trusted his father to find him a wife. Are you trusting your father, your heavenly father, to find you a wife? Oh, it's chock full today, friends. He didn't marry anybody from Canaan, alright? He could have. 40 year old man is taking the advice, he's a grown, he's a grown man, saying, okay, I'm gonna hold my horses, I'm not gonna go to all these beautiful women in Canaan, cause I'm sure there was a many beautiful women in Canaan, mm hmm. Wicked, but beautiful. I tell you, man, sometimes the beauty be a curse. I be saying this to y'all all the time, like, man, it's like the better a female look, a man look, the more trouble it is. More beauty, more problems, okay? More beauty, more problems. Tell me I'm lying. Anyway, he, this grown man followed the counsel of his father, didn't get ahead of him, and didn't go marry some woman in Canaan. Therefore, so he wouldn't, so he would not be unequally yoked, he took that counsel. Some of us is 40 plus years old, and we don't want to take that counsel. You still dating people outside of the church. Come on, I'm talking to you. Not, not your same denomination, not your same faith. You are a mess, and wonder why your love life is the way it is. Not gonna find your wife like that, Bro ham. Come on, my brothers. You're not gonna find your wife not following the owner's manual. Be obedient to the instruction given us. Isaac was protected. I got, oh, some more heat for you. Isaac was protected from being taken. With the woman's eyes. In other words, by him not going he was not able to be deceived by the beauty of a woman. Mmm. You know how it be sometimes, friends? It don't be love at first sight, it be lust at first sight. I'm talking to you. You know, you know what I'm saying? So he was protected from that, he's guarded from that, so now he's, by allowing God through his father to choose his wife, he's not even having to be tempted with the, am I just lusting over her? Or is this, is this a thing, or is this a thing from God? Some of y'all can relate to what I'm saying. Mmm. Isaac went out to meditate. In the field at eventide. You say, what are you talking about, brother? Listen, while the servant is away going to find his wife, my brother was back home praying. Alright? He was back there on his knees, even inside, like, Lord, don't let this servant pick the wrong woman for me. Oh, Lord. You know, if it was me, oh Lord, don't let her have one big eye and one small eye. Oh, Father. Oh, Lord. You know, that's how we'd be praying. Oh, Lord. Oh, I hope she has nice feet. Oh, Father. God. Oh, Lord. You know, we'd be praying, friends. I can only imagine what Isaac was praying. I pray he was praying the right prayers in the selection for his wife, but he was praying is what I want to drive home right now. He did not simply just leave it to his father and to the servant, but he himself was praying. To the god of heaven. All right. So then the servant, you know, he ends up right outside the city of Nahor You know, he's there and what does he do the service like man? I don't know what i'm doing I don't know what i'm doing. So he prays to god for help He prays that god would help him identify the right woman for his master's son. This prayer is recorded in a genesis 24 Specifically, verse 14, the servant asked for a specific sign to confirm that God has chosen the right woman. Y'all didn't hear what I said. Come on, man, I'm talking to you. Where my brother's at? He prayed for a specific sign that he could see to let him know that he had chosen the right, that God had chosen the right woman for his master servant. Let's note a few things about this servant. One, the servant went to a place where the type of women he was looking for would be at. at the specific time. So he goes to a well of water at the time of the evening, in the evening time, when women went out to draw water, in the right town. Other words, some of you might need it in subtitles right now. Men, talking to you my brothers. In other words, he wasn't at the bar looking for a wife. Hmm, there we go. Get some of that. Yeah. He wasn't at the club looking for Uh, a traditional woman. Some of these apps you on, you know, you know what apps you don't need to be on? You know, some of these apps are just nothing more than hookup apps. Get off those apps, beloved. Then you up in there complaining about, oh, there's no righteous woman. No righteous women to be found in all the land. Oh, there's no one holy. Oh, these modern women. Why you looking? Why are you in the wrong ponds looking for the wrong type of fish? Or why are you in the wrong ponds expecting a different type of fish that doesn't even reside in that pond? I said the servant came. Come on, man. I'm talking to somebody today. The servant went to the right well, at the right time, in the right town, looking for the right type of woman. Mmm. He had faith in the words of Abraham. His master Abraham told him, Hey, God will send his angel before thee, so don't be afraid to go. Don't be afraid to go looking, because you're not looking alone. God is going to send his, my God is going to send his angel to go before thee. And thou shalt find a wife for my son. He had faith in the words of Abraham. He had faith that God would send his angel. You know, you can't approach looking for a wife, if you're looking for one, with no faith that God can't do it. My God can do all things, and if he wants you to be married, if he wants you to find a wife that you, that is suitable for you, that is your wife, your partner, your spouse, my God's gonna do it. My God's gonna do it. Apart from, let me, let me, let me Little side note here, little sidebar, apart from you not being a mess, you know, brushing your teeth, being clean, looking in the right places, not being arrogant, not being nasty, not, you know what I'm saying? If you are the problem, you are the problem, all right? God can only do so much because some of us are working against God, and our brokenness and our attitudes. You get what I'm saying? Sorry. I've got to put that out there. I don't want, I don't want us to just think, Oh, blanket statement, gosh, let's go and unite people who are all jacked up, easy. I didn't say that. Don't, don't do that to me. All right. Now, Abraham tells the servant, and if the woman will not be willing to follow thee, then you are free from this covenant between you and I. What? She has to be willing to follow. If she's not willing to follow thee, leave. You're off the hook. So even if you found the right woman, But in her heart, she's not willing to be led. She's not willing to follow. Keep it moving. Ooh, that's some, somebody needed that too. You in that relationship trying to force it right now. Like man, this woman is stiff necked and hard headed. Well, what you with her for then? Wants to be the man, wants to wear the pants. Get out of there. Get out of there. Get out of there, then. Come on. The servant prayed. Isaac was praying. Servant was praying. Come on, friends. A lot of folks praying. Listen, if you're in a place where you're looking for a spouse and you're accustomed to praying three times a day, you need to start praying six times a day. It's like that, friends. It's like that. Mm hmm. Double up that prayer life. Double up that prayer game. You married the wrong person, man, you're gonna be kept out of the kingdom. Potentially. Potentially. Keep, keepin it real. Keepin it a buck with you, as they say. Keepin it real with you. The servant prayed that God would choose for him. I said the servant prayed a prayer so that God would do the choosing. He didn't trust his own selection. And his prayer said, and let it come to pass that the damsel to whom I shall say, let down by picture, I pray thee that I may drink. So I'm going to approach a damsel, a woman, you know, a virgin say, Hey, can you let down that picture of water and give me something to drink and shall say, and she shall say, drink, and I will give thy camels also. Now he's saying, Lord, I want to know this is the woman you've selected for my master, for my master's son, and I'm going to say these words, and she needs to respond this way, offer me, give me, say yes to giving me water, and then offer to give my camels water also, drink also. Let the same be she that thou has appointed for thy servant Isaac. Let that be an indication to me that this is the woman of your choosing, God. Father Yahweh, let this be, let this be indication to me that this is the wife that you have chosen. This is not of any human selection process. And thereby shall I know that thou hast showed kindness unto my master. The servant sets a specific test for the woman. He sets a test for the woman. Don't miss this. The servant sets a test for the woman. She's being tested. He prays that the woman he asked for the drink of water will be willing to offer him a drink, not only for himself, But for the camels, and it would come from her picture. Now, she would have taken the energy, the time, to go down to the well, to lower it, to fill the well, however long that took, put it on her shoulder, and now he's saying, Hey, that, that, I want some water from that picture that you just drew. All that work you just did, and you're bringing that back to your family, I, I want some of that water. Which means you may have to go back to that well again to fill it up. No, you're gonna have to go back to the well again and fill it up. And he says, Before he had done speaking this prayer request in his heart, behold, he saw Rebecca come forth with her picture on her shoulder. He makes the request, and she gave him something to drink, even though that would have been an inconvenience to her. Then she goes on to not only give the servant something to drink, but offers to also give the camels drink. Now, not only is the servant asking, friends, for a simple act of kindness, which I would even still argue, in my flesh, it could not have been simple for the right person. Alright? Or for the wrong person. But he prays For a woman who is willing to go above and beyond just offering or allowing him to have water But to offer to give his camels water now I did some research and I did not realize this friends This was not a small task in giving the camels water. Do you know how much camels drink friends? Mm hmm. I'll give you a second to think about that. Pop quiz. How much water does a camel drink, on average ish? A camel's, camels drink about 20 to 30 gallons of water per camel. This servant shows up with 10 camels. That's 300 gallons of water, 300 gallons. How many trips is that to the well and back? Listen, ladies, let me talk to my ladies that are listening right now. Some of y'all don't want to cook. Some of y'all don't want to clean. Some of y'all don't want to vacuum. Some of y'all want to do Uber Eats all day, all night. This woman gave this man something to drink from her picture and went back and filled it up enough time to feed 10 camels, which could have been 300 gallons of water. Some of y'all don't want to get in the car to go do a task. We don't even know how hot it was outside. And this man asking for this water that she don't even know a man. She don't even know she's offering. Let me go feed your camels. We don't know how hot, listen, some of y'all, y'all start sweating. Y'all out. Y'all like brother. I can't husband, honey, love. I can't do it. I'm sweating. I can't sweat. Oh no. I got, I got cosmetics on. I got nails. I can't, can't do that. I have nails. I can't, no, can't do anything. Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. Can't be me. Listen, not Rebecca. Not Rebecca. Mmm. Ooh, this, this some heating here, boy, today. This act would show a level of generosity, diligence, Hard work, work ethic, come on, and hospitality beyond that which might be expected from an average woman or from a person of that day, especially at the well with the women. And the Bible says, the owner's manual says, she hasted, she didn't just do it, she did it quickly. Oh, you know how you be, sometimes you don't want to do something, man, you folding those clothes so slow. Man, you making that meal social. You barely get the meal done before he gets to the door. Come on kids I mean, you just so tired you just go but this she hasted and let down her picture. Come on She was quick about getting up soon as he asked boom off her shoulder quickly giving him water ASAP She wasn't sitting there. She wasn't sitting there debating if she didn't need a man. She wasn't saying man. No, I'm a feminist I can't give you any water. I'm not your servant. I'm not your maid quickly off the shoulder boom Cup filled. He's drinking water. And then when she goes to draw the, come on friends, when she goes to draw the water for the camels, she says, I'm going to give your camels drink until they're done drinking. This man has 10 camels. Some of y'all ladies would have looked at those 10 camels and said, not me, not today. They're going to be thirsty. It's hot out here. They camels, they got water in their backs. Anyway, that's what some of y'all would have said. Ladies, come on. Don't lie. It is a 10 camels. 30 gallons per camel. You bugging. I ain't doing that. Y'all tripping. Some of you might have been like that's diabolical work that 10 camels You'd have been counting one, two, three, four, five. Not Rebecca She says I'm gonna go and give them water until they're done and then she does that hastily. Then she does that with haste She does that quickly. It says she ran. Oh, the modern woman is hating this story right now She ran To get these camels water and she drew water for all these camels and make sure all the camels were good The servant simply asked Lord if she responds this way Then he would know that she is the one that God has chosen. Come on. Come on. This was his way of seeking divine Confirmation, let me talk to you men you in a relationship. Let me talk to you ladies My sister's in Christ, my brother's in Christ, my brother's, my sister's. You're in relationships that you have not received divine confirmation on. And you wonder why it's not, Hmm, why it's going as bad as it's going. Wonder why it just don't feel right. Why he hasn't proposed. Why you don't want to propose because you're in a relationship. Have you received divine confirmation for that relationship you're in? I'm asking you right now. Have you received divine confirmation in the relationship you're in, and if you have not, then why are you in it? Why are you wasting somebody's time? Why are you wasting another child of God's time being in a relationship that you have not received divine confirmation for? Like the attention? Is that what it is? You don't like being alone? So you're willing to play with someone else's heart? So you don't feel lonely? Come on, man. He's not merely relying on his own judgment. Men, listen to me. He is not merely relying on his own judgment, but looking for a sign that God has guided the process. There's a process in place. Do you trust the process and are you, are you not satisfied until you know that God, the Almighty, Yahweh, is guiding the process. The servant acknowledges that if the woman does this, It will be evidence that God, that God has been leading him to the right person. It was his way of expressing trust that God's providence, friends, yes, the providences of God have been guiding him to the right match. You men we have to get in tune with being able to discern the providences of God. This is important This is crucial when we're talking about Spousal selection if you think you're wise enough to do it. You're a fool. You better open that owner's manual You better get that guidance You better set some prayers out where you can be some testing and so you can see the providence of God leading Let me give you some give me some more. Let me give you some facts some more notes about Rebecca here, okay? Rebecca means to tie, to bind, to bear, to capture, to ensnare. I think with her beauty because she was fair to look upon. She was bad, friends. She was a 10, okay? She was so bad, Isaac was scared he might get killed over this woman because of her beauty. All right? She was coming from a two family household. Come on. Her family was inviting. Her family was welcoming. Her family was hospitable. Come on. You got your eye on a lady? Man, meet that family. Where my men at? You better meet her dad, meet her mom, meet her brothers, meet her sisters. At the family ain't right. Ooh Hold tight might have to hold tight. The family's not right man the whole tight home pump the brakes. Hey, hold on Hey sis, love you, but hey, you look nice, but whoa, you seem kind But man, your family's not nice and you've come from these folks her family believed in God. Check me out I'm just giving you the facts about Rebecca, okay? Her family believed in God. They believed the testament of the servant and they believed that God was in it. These were God fearing people. Mmm. She was tested and she passed the test. She was tested and she passed the test. Rebecca was a modest woman. You hear what I said? Men, women, I said Rebecca was a modest woman. She took a veil to cover her face when she saw Isaac. Come on. She's a modest woman. Rebecca was willing to follow. She was willing to go. She was willing to follow and to be led and to be obedient to the will of God. That's the type of woman you need. Listen, before my wife passed away, in our younger days, we had been married five years, and I felt impressed that the Lord was leading us to move from New York City to Northern Idaho. You heard me right. New York City to Northern Idaho with this level of melanin you see on the camera. That's right. K? You dig me. You see me. And my wife, who had only lived in the Bronx her entire life, believed that God was leading me and leading us. And she made that move, almost 3, 000 miles away from her family. Sounds a lot like Rebecca. Friends, that, men, gentlemen, that's the type of wife you need. That is a wife who believes, doesn't trust you, but trusts you that you're trusting God. And she can trust that. She knows that you're humble enough to realize you don't have any wisdom of your own, and you're looking to God for direction, and she can, she can submit to that, friends. She can submit to God leading you. Come on, am I talking to somebody? Be that type of woman. Oh, so the Rebecca's of the land. They're out there, gentlemen. Can you be an Abraham? Come on, man. Can we be Abrahams? Led by the providences and the voice and the words of God. I want to hit you with three points here. Three takeaways. When it comes to, from this, from this passage, from this account, out of the owner's menu, three takeaways for you in finding a spouse. Three takeaways for you in finding a husband. In finding the wife. Your wife. The loyal wife. The faithful wife. The godly wife. The virtuous wife. Come on. What was she being tested on, friends? Some of y'all listen to this and the women are thinking like, Oh, she was being tested if she could be a servant or not, if she was gonna be a maid, a housewife. No, no, no, no, you missed it. You missed it if you think that's it. Men, what was he, what was he testing her on? What was the servant of Abraham testing her on? He was testing her character. So often we're so focused on the outward appearance, we forget all about character. He was testing her character. The service request isn't just about finding someone who is willing to help him, come on. It's about finding someone who is not only kind, but also generous and thoughtful in a way that would benefit both him and his camels. The act of offering the water to the camels, in particular, would reveal character traits like kindness, hospitality, and a willingness to go the extra mile. He was testing her character. Let that sink in. Fellas, are you testing her character? Ladies, are you testing his character? Oh, he has money. Well, how's his character? Mmm. Oh, she's beautiful, but how is her character? He's got followers, she's got followers, but how is the character, France? Second takeaway. The trust in divine guidance cannot be overlooked in this account. The servant's prayer demonstrates his deep trust in God's ability to guide him. Yes. He set up a very specific sign that he believes will confirm God is doing the choosing for him. Do you have trust in divine guidance? Come on. You want to be married, you want to be, oh, but do you have trust in divine guidance? Do you trust God? Virtue, friends. Third, third takeaway. Virtue. See, the hospitality in the ancient culture would display and reveal virtue. Highly valued virtue was hospitality. It's seen in her, it's seen in her family. Oh, we've got one. We found one. All right, let's reel her in. Offering water to travelers and their animals was a significant and gracious act in a desert country, in a desert land, friends, symbolizing a generous and open spirit. Yes. Yes, listen, if you are And they don't treat their family right, they don't treat their mama right, their daddy right. They don't treat the waiter or waitress right when you're out? Mm mm. Spirit ain't right with that one. Spirit ain't right with that one, friend. How, how did they treat the help? Mm. How did they treat people that they don't think can do anything for them? That they don't need? Yeah, friends. What was the outcome? Isaac found a wife. Rebecca, a virtuous woman. He found a virtuous woman doing it God's way men. I said he found a virtuous woman, not doing it his way, not doing it the way of the world, but doing it God's way by calling on the God of heaven. Well, let me give you the conclusion friends in case you missed it. Here's the conclusion. This account from scripture highlights a beautiful moment of faith in divine guidance, showing how God can lead his people in important decisions. Even today, friends. The Servant's Prayer is a clear example of seeking God's will with a specific request, trusting that God will provide the right signs to confirm the path forward. It also underscores the significance of character, generosity, virtue, and hospitality in finding a partner, which ultimately leads to Rebekah being chosen as Isaac's wife. My brothers, My sisters, family, I pray that God leads you to your Rebecca, men. And my sisters, I pray you will be at the well, at the right time, with the right character. I'm Gordon McGee. This is the No Pills Podcast. Love fully scripted. And I'm signing off, and I will catch you next week.
