Today on the no pills podcast today, we're talking about cosmetic surgeries. for men. Uh, muscle enhancements, they're injecting fat into their deltoids, biceps and upper chest. I've even seen folks online who are injecting bodybuilders, who are injecting oil into their, into these areas and they're getting swole. And this, this is mental illness, friends. Let's get into it. You're podcast, your best resource for cultivating meaningful. Healthy, long lasting, romantic relationships that bloom into strong marriages. Welcome to No Pills. Welcome to No Pills. Your guide through love, relationships, and all of the above. Yes, friends. Today, your love life is a vehicle. It is. That vehicle comes with the owner's manual. That's the Bible. Mm hmm. Mm hmm. And the Bible's manufacturer is G O D, friends. Now listen, you know, I understand that I'm, um, you know, I know that I'm not for everybody, but friends, here's one thing we're going to do. We're going to keep standing on the word of God. We're going to keep referencing the owner's manual. We're not out here trying to chase trends, report on all the gossip. Eh? I'm going to continue to give you clear instruction from the owner's manual that will put you in a healthy marriage that's not going to fall apart, friends. I pray that this podcast is adding value to your thought processes when it comes to thinking about relationships or being involved in a marriage, courtship. Because that's why we're here, friends. I could easily, I could easily chase whatever's trending online, friends. Easily I could do that. And whatever million, whatever thing out there is getting a million, two million views, we could just go behind it, follow the wave, and report on it, and just become another news outlet. Another gossip, gossip, boss up type, Hollywood type chasing, you know what I mean, like it just, why? Who needs that? Don't you want real, listen friends, don't you want real advice that's gonna work? Don't you want real principle, real instruction, so you don't end up in a failed relationship, in a failed marriage? Today we're talking about cosmetic surgeries for men, friends. Now you rarely, you rarely hear anybody talk about this because women are 90 percent of the consumers for cosmetic surgeries. So that other 10%, which is men, we rarely talk about. But we want to keep the standards equal across the board. You know, if you get online, you know, women will, you know, we'll give women a hard time about being fake, being plastic, uh, deception, deceiving us. Who are you really under that makeup catfishing you need to cut that out and sometimes I hear you about men catfishing women and So forth and so on but because the market is so big the beauty industry is so Massive it's a behemoth of a thing and women are just Just consuming, sucking down all the product and have all these beauty channels and you can get in where you fit in. Men are selling eyelashes, friends. I mean, it's crazy. Follow the money. Okay. Follow the money. So what about men? Is it okay for men? To get cosmetic surgeries. If women can put on wigs or if they should, maybe they should not be putting on wigs, but if we say they can, if we say it's okay, as a culture, as a group, then what about the short Kings that got to, you know, we don't have to, the short Kings that choose to put lifts in their shoes was good for the goose is good for the gander, right? Is, is it, is it, is it, is there a, uh, a double standard at play here? Does anyone care? Did the women care about. Men with cosmetic alterations that he care of a short king puts inserts in his shoes. Ladies, let me know down in the comment section where we even delve deep and deeper into this topic today. This discussion today. Let me let me know in the comment section right now. How do you feel before you hear anything? How do you feel? Don't cheat before you hear the podcast. How do you feel about men participating, getting cosmetic surgeries? Is that turn on, turn off? Do you think is he feminine? Do you care if a short king puts wedges lifts in his shoes? Let me know. Do you feel like there's a double standard? Do you feel like it's all about what women are doing to beautify themselves, but when men do it, it's completely okay, or we just don't talk about it? Let me know. In 2025, men are expected to get cosmetic procedures to enhance their physique, define their jaw lines. And rejuvenate their eyes, friends, and rejuvenate their eyes, okay? Those, uh, physical procedures that are gonna focus on the physique of the male anatomy. Liposuction. Men are getting liposuction. Man, it sounds crazy, wild to even say that. It just, it sounds strange in my ears. Liposuction. Okay, now for those of you who don't know what that is at all, okay, it removes the fat from those stubborn areas, you know, like the abdomen or chest. Friends, fat cells are removed. Now here's an interesting thing I learned. First of all, in preparation for this podcast, I'm, I have, I'm over here watching Dr. Miami. I'm like, having to find out what all these medical procedures, cosmetic procedures are and so forth and so on. I feel like I've, I feel like I've taken a trip to Florida or something. Uh, I've, I've gone to the Dominican Republic. I've gone on a, I don't know if I have, I'm like, I'm questioning myself. Like, do I have any cosmetic surgeries? It's like crazy. Um, I've been to Miami and back, friends, uh, online, that is. Fat cells, okay? So here's what I learned while I'm looking this stuff up. Fat cells. You don't get new fat cells, friends. Once you remove fat cells, they don't come back. Alright, so fat cells either increase in size or decrease in size based upon your lifestyle habits. And I guess maybe suppose if there was some genetic disorder. I'm not sure if that is even real, if that exists. But if it were, They just shrink and enlarge, shrink and enlarge, shrink and enlarge, okay? But when you remove them, they're gone forever. Now here's my thought with that, just off the rip. Man, God gave me the fat cells because I need the fat cells. Come on, talk to me. The, the manufacturer says, hey, you need fat cells in case you find yourself in a cold area. You know what I mean? You need the fat. Do not remove things from my body that I need. That's just common sense to me. That's one on one. So when I found out these fat cells do not regenerate, and they are removed permanently by liposuction, I'm like, mm mm, eh, wrong answer. Mm mm, mm mm, that's not good. I don't like the way that sounds. Now, there have been some occasions where folks have died from liposuction. Now usually when we talk about someone dying from a cosmetic procedure, we're talking about infections. Right? Infections happen. Loss of blood, etc. But mostly I think infections happen. And that infection spreads, gets to the heart, brain, etc. You know, you go septic, you outta here. God have mercy. Keep that in mind. Death can occur. Death. Death, I said, can occur with cosmetic procedures. Abdominal etching, you don't want to go to the gym, don't want to put in that work for that six pack, don't want to put in the core, that's alright. We'll just remove some fat and we'll just etch in your abdomen for you, okay? We'll give you the abs that you've always desired, alright? We'll get it down so you can get busy. If you have, uh, you know, male boobies. We can take care of those for you too. We'll get that all done for you. Which, listen, I, I can understand, you know, a heterosexual man does not want to appear to look like a woman in any shape, form, or fashion. Okay? I don't know how much work needs to be done to remove the male boobies, but I could see that really getting under a brother's skin. Mentally, I could see that wearing, wearing a man down like, man, I got these breasts on my chest. That's not what I want. So I didn't take time to drill down on if you could naturally get that all removed, that fat that's, you know, Around the nipple there, you know, and I want to assume that good healthy lifestyle and some hard time at the gym could But potentially maybe you would have to be stuck with that but muscle enhancements They're injecting fat into their deltoids biceps and upper chest I've even seen folks online who are injecting bodybuilders who are injecting oil into their, into these areas and they're getting swole. And this, this is mental illness friends and walk around looking like this disfigured marshmallow man. Like I'm just keeping it honest. I'm keeping it real here. What else can you call that? Like you look fine the way all right. Jawline and chin definition. You can get injectable fillers. Men are getting injectable fillers, friends. These are all men we're talking about right now. Okay, so let's go back. Men are getting liposuction. Men are getting abdominal etching. Men are getting surgery to remove the boobies. Uh, muscle enhancements are going on. They're injecting oil and fats into biceps and upper chest. They're injectable fillers. They're putting it inside their jaw lines. And then there's chin surgery, where they insert a fake chin in your, uh, chin augmentation. Okay? Now, I'm gonna say this. This stuff all works, like, if we're on the female side and we're talking about getting your eyebrows done, getting fake eyelashes put on, makeup, jawline, liposuction, it all works as far as aesthetically making you more appealing to the opposite sex. Okay, I mean, unless it's done, it's botched, whatever, and you don't end up losing your life, it, it has an impact. Like, I mean, the reality is, usually a person who's a little thinner looks a little better normally, right? So, anything that's making your face look thinner, contouring this, contouring that, abs, a person who is fit is seen to be attractive. So these things, you will get the desired outcome and effect, um, just at what risk? Mentally, physically, spiritually, morally. That's the question. Eyelid rejuvenation. Okay. Men are getting excess skin removed around. This is usually older, older men would do this upper and lower eyelids. Uh, neck lifts, hair transplants. Do you know? Men, that there have been men that have died from hair transplants, I found out. I'm like, what? Infections, right? Hair transplants. Could you imagine losing your life for some liposuction or a hair transplant, and you out of here, and you gone. Adios, amigos. Men have leg lengthening surgeries now. They insert rods into their thighs and their lower leg bones to become taller. Guy out there named Denzel spent 80, 000 to have this done. To go from 5'6 to 6'2 I think or something like that. Said it was super painful. Wouldn't suggest anybody else to do it. Mentally he said he was trying because he was, his recovery process, he was alone during the recovery process. He's, you're in pain every day because your bones have been sawn in half and rods have been placed in your legs. He's like, super painful, mentally challenging, but he seemed fairly happy about it, I guess. Crazy. Okay? Probably some of you already are listening to this and going like, nah, I'm good. Uh, the risk of death. I don't care what the percentage is, friend. I don't care if it was 0. 1001%. I'm like, yeah, I don't want to go out like that though. Like, what do you get, what, what do you say around the throne? What do you tell God? Hey, Lord, I, uh, you know, wasn't really feeling, you know, so I got this and then that, yeah, I got septic and died, like, you know, or I got some type of crazy infection and left here. I don't know if we can really justify that. Does that make sense? Can you? Mm. That's wild, friends. That's a little crazy. Pain, it can go botch, it can go awry. Um, when is enough enough? Do you stop? And I wonder, what is driving men to this place? What do you think, friends? What do you think is driving men to this place to go get cosmetic surgeries? And I wonder, over the next few years, will we see a steady increase? Will, will it go up for more than 10 percent of the cosmetic surgeries? Are are gonna be men, will it increase? Because I, I, I think social media is playing a great, great role in this. Like, you know, people go post, Instagrams, write Instagram photos on their gram, they go post on the gram and they're bodybuilders or their physical, physical trainers or whatever, but it's like, okay, you took these pictures and you were like on a three day fast. You know what I mean? So you're all thinned down, sucked down, no water in your body, and you take these pictures and you're just like, oh, I want to be like that. And the average Joe is struggling, like, man, why can't I get that done? Why can't I get this? I get it. You know, if we're comparing ourselves, you're like, oh man, I just hate these love handles. No matter what I seem to do, I can't get rid of these love handles. Hey man, maybe you need some fat there. You know, it's a cold world outside. Cold world out there. You know what I'm saying? God's trying to keep your brother warm. All right. But is it the comparison dilemma? Is it the comparison dilemma? Uh, where are we getting these, uh, beauty standards from, men? Talking to you, men. Is it from God? Well, the owner's manual does not explicitly mention cosmetic surgeries. Okay. But it does provide us with some principles, friends. Some good guiding principles. What do you say? Our bodies are God's temple. The first principle I want to lay on you today. You find this over in 1 Corinthians chapter 6 verses 19 through 20. Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you? Come on. Your body is not your own for you are bought with the price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit which are God's. Your body first belongs to God and then when you're married it belongs to your spouse and then you have the Responsibility to be a good steward over it, okay? We need to treat our bodies with respect. We need to honor our temples. Take care of our temples. Mentally, physically, emotionally. Spiritually. A sit is not your own. So first thing you need to do before you go make any alterations, before you go make any changes, you need to ask the owner of your body, is it okay? Hey God, just coming to you in prayer now asking you, is this procedure something you would have me to do with your resources and with your body? You want to be avoiding vanity. Come on, second principle. You want to be avoiding vanity and pride. By what? Focusing on the inner beauty. A lot of times, we have no problem giving these verses to the women, but they are applicable to the men as well. 1 Peter 3 verses 3 and 4. Who's adorning, let it not be of the outward adorning of the plating of the hair and the braiding and the wearing of gold, no foretension of putting on of apparel or expensive apparel, but let it be of the hidden man of the heart, come on, the, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which in the sight of God is of great peace, inner beauty. Men that provide, men that are masculine, men that love, men that protect. Yeah, that's that inner beauty that a, that a, that a woman is attracted to. Where she feels safe and protected and loved and knows that this man loves God above everything else. Insecurities, friends. Are we trying to overcome insecurities? Are we being led to these things, men, through vanity? Have we now, too, been bitten with the vanity bug? With, with the serpent of deception? Are we out here looking for human approval? You know, there's something, there was something in my spirit growing up. It was like, hey man, if a female didn't want me, for me, within reason, if I'm living, if I'm healthy, if I'm not, you know, Then she's just not the one for me, man, you know? I think if you've ever had anybody of the opposite sex ever show interest in you, then you kind of understand that, like, okay I'm not for everybody. I am for somebody, right? But maybe if you've never had anyone ever show any interest in you, you maybe could start to think like, hey I'm broken, but I bet you a lot of that are things that you can fix without surgery. Your attitude, your outlook on life, getting locked in with God, getting locked into a small group, getting, belonging to a church, finding community, getting into the gym, eating healthy, being more outgoing, you can do a huge pick me up without going to see Dr. Miami. Number three. Contentment with God is great gain. In other words, we need to be content with God's design. What does Psalms 139 say? Verse 14. I will praise thee, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are thy works, and that my soul knoweth it right well. Now listen, we live in a fallen world. Some people are born with deformities and so forth and so on. And we might be tempted even in those cases to be like, Oh man, like, you know, you need to be changed. Listen, some people's lives Have been blessed has led to them being able to inspire other people and encourage people to travel the world into. And to rake in all type of funds and monies and resources because of their said deformities. I've seen it. There is a gentleman online that I ran into, I'm sure many of you have seen him before. No arms, no legs, and he goes around preaching the gospel. Now I'm sure that's not an easy life to live. But in that, man, he's found a work. He's found an identity. It's amazing. It's amazing. So to trust God's design, to trust God's purpose for our life, even in a fallen world, just what a thought, man. What a thought. And that just blows my mind because, you know, instinctively we want to fix everything that does not come out to what we would consider normal in this lifetime. And we can't see that there might be a blessing in the abnormal. Does that make sense? But godliness with contentment is great gain. That was 1st Timothy 6 verse 6, and that was Psalms 139 verse 14. Okay? The danger of vanity, friends, and worldly influence. Let's check the motives. Okay, Romans 12 verse 2 says and be not conformed to this world who listen ladies. Oh my goodness If one more of you look like Kim Kardashian, I'm gonna throw up in my mouth This is out of control like all look the same cookie cutter all goodness And it seems like the men we're catching it too. We all want to be six foot now We all got to be six two. We all got it. Like yo, this Variation is beauty and variation You know, there's beauty in variation. Romans 12 verse 2, And be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. If you're desiring these physical changes, men, because you've been watching all these street interviews and all this pressure from women that you don't want or you shouldn't want anyway. Let me talk to you. Why would you want a vain, empty, shallow, woman's attention Anyway, can I talk to you men? Why why are you out here trying to get a gold digger's attention? Oh, I want the gold digger to choose me Oh, I want I want the girl with the fake body to choose me in order to make her choose me I got I have to go get a fake body too so we can be fake body bodying together Get out of here. You dig me you hear what i'm saying to you friend? My brothers, come on, come on. Who you trying to impress? Who you trying to get? Listen, people like that not going to stay with you anyway. People like that are only there for what they can get. Only there so they can build themselves up. They're going to leave you, friends. Okay? If your desire for cosmetic surgery, friends, is being influenced by worldly beauty standards, you need to check that. Because that may lead to pride, materialism, come on, and dissatisfaction. You won't be satisfied. Right? All the females will tell you. Well, not all of them. Some of the females have come forth over the years and let us know, like, yeah, man, once you start getting alterations, one plastic surgery leads to another plastic surgery leads to another plastic surgery, which leads to another pla addictive. Now you're getting surgeries to fix the past surgeries, and you're never satisfied, friends. As Christians, as believers, we are called to seek transformation of character, not just transformation in our appearance. When God met the demoniacs and he cured them, healed them, delivered them from demonic possession, they were naked when he found them, cutting themselves with a rock. I'm cutting themselves with stones and rocks, but when Jesus got done with them, they were sitting there at the foot of Christ clothed and in their right mind no longer naked. I'm not saying God is not involved or cares about your outward appearance at all, but we should be worried about transforming the character as Christians. The motive matters, friends. 1 Samuel 16 verse 7 But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord seeth not as man seeth, for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart of a man. Let us not forget this, friends. Why do you want the plastic surgery? Why do you want the cosmetic surgery? Why? Is it of, is it of, is it of a medical necessity? Now we're having a different discussion. If it's for a medical necessity reconstruction after an accident or an illness. Hey, what do you want to say? Our identity should be bound up in God. Hey, you're a hard working man. You take care of yourself. You eat, right? Stay active. You're honest. Stay groomed. Stay clean. Stay kept. All right, fellas. You'll be okay. I didn't say it would be easy. I'm not saying that women are just gonna be falling off of trees at your feet, but Your self confidence and your self identity will be locked into a healthy place and you won't be chasing these unrealistic expectations of the world. And please don't overlook this stewardship principle that I mentioned earlier. When we're talking about the responsibility in stewardship, you're spending excessive money, you're being irresponsible with the finances, and are you participating in something that is harmful to your body? 80, 000 to be six inches taller. I don't know, friend. That's God's money. 80, 000 to make myself billion, billion, billion dollar industry is the cosmetic industry, friends. Ooh, people starving in the world. Nothin to eat. Going to bed hungry, we're spending thousands of dollars on wigs, eyelashes, abdominal, etching, liposuction, mmm, BBLs, men are out here too, didn't mention this, but getting calf inserts, putting calf, fake calves in their legs. How many women have come out in recent years and said, man, Man, I had these breast implants and they were making me sick. Mm. Putting these foreign objects in your body. You won't be long with the calves in Surge 2 and everything else, I'm sure. The oil that men are injecting into themselves. You're harming the body of Christ. You are supposed to be protecting the temple of God, not destroying the temple of God, friends. You are a steward over this body that does not belong to you, but you're poisoning it, you're killing it. Romans 12, 1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, come on, wholly acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. Here's some other concerns for you. You marry somebody, you'd like to know what your kids are gonna look like. If you and your wife both have all this cosmetic surgeries done, you don't even know what your kids are gonna look like, man. You're gonna be like, whose baby is that when it comes out? Like, that's not our baby, we don't look like that. Pretty privilege is a real thing, friends. People who are seen as more attractive do get treated differently in this world. So if you've grown up as the ugly duckling, and then you go and get this cosmetic surgery, and now you become this beautiful swan, that might mess you up mentally, man. Like, it may just jade you and harden you to society and people. You may be like, man, you might, you might start feeling like, man, I hate, I hate humanity because when I was ugly, you didn't love me, but now that I'm beautiful, it might just throw you into a tailspin, man, might send you off your rocker. Might, you might just get you to do something you don't want to do. There is a mental, there are mental implications to altering your, your physical, the outward. There are inward implications to modifying the outward. I want you just to consider that, friends. And men, let me remind you, as I always remind the women, Satan, okay, male cherubim, male angelic being, that's how angels are usually presented. They present in the, in the, in the, in the male, in the masculine. He fell because of his beauty. That was a part of the reason that Satan fell, because of vanity, because of how good looking he thought he was, because of how beautiful he was. That started with a, with a male mind. Man, are you following Christ? Or are you following Satan when you're looking to have cosmetic surgery? So let's recap. If it's medically necessary, burn victims, reconstruction surgery, birth defects, etc. There's likely no chance for that to be a sinful activity, okay? But, my brothers, if you're out here doing this for vanity, if it's pride, if it's discontentment, If it's excessive focus on the appearance, if it's from deception, if you want to be deceptive, if you are getting cosmetic surgery to be deceptive, to promote a lie, to promote something that is not true. If you're getting cosmetic surgery because you're lazy and just don't want to put in the work, just to be liked for the female gaze, seeking approval from others and from the world. This, this could lead you into sin by fostering your insecurities, materialism, and idolatry. Mm hmm. So I think one of the keys, or the main key, friends, only you, male or female alike, the main key that you have to do that I can't answer for you, you go to the Bible, you read, and then you need to check your heart with God. Ask yourself why. Am I wanting to do what I want to do because God is leading me to it or because I see the rest of the world doing it? Why, why do I think that my current weight, if I'm not obese and I'm like, why isn't going to the gym enough? Why isn't eating healthy enough? Does this decision glorify God or is it self serving? I'm Gordon McGee. This is the No Pills Podcast, love fully scripted, and I'm signing off and I will catch you next week.
