22. Status Update

Season 1 Episode 22

What are your TRU thoughts?

It's been a while, but we're still here!

Struggle is real, but not insurmountable. It is important not to be blind to the effects your season has on not just how you are but also who. "Square one here I come!" It'll soon be time for me to start from scratch on certain aspects of my identity, which tends to be pretty unsettling. #Relatable? Nonetheless, just like for me- as uncomfortable as it can get at times- it is a necessary step in your journey of eventually living as the TRU-U! Just know you're not alone.

Speaker 1:

you. Greetings, hi and hello everyone. My name is jason pizzi flair. I'm a speaker, I'm a podcaster and my life's work is centered around allowing the world to meet the true you by helping you think, speak and eventually live better than yesterday. We do this, first, by establishing a good reason why, a strong and powerful motivation to keep going when the going gets rough. Second, we need awareness and acknowledgement of what's holding us back. And third, we need scalable steps forward as a reliable bridge between who we are right now and who we need to be tomorrow and the day after that, and the day after that and the day after that.

Speaker 1:

This, my friends, is how you go from stuck to thinking as, speaking as and living as the true you the True you a while and I'm pretty sure in my last episode I did say that I am. I have no plans to stop for the time being, and that is accurate. So don't let this backtrack fool you. I mainly picked it because it's it's really how I feel right now and, as much as I believe that there are times in my life where I need to compartmentalize and just execute right now, I find that very hard to do. Very hard to do, and I don't want to lie to myself and think that another year or two of just putting my head down and pushing through the emotions is going to be good for me. That might have worked to a certain degree while I was in the military, but right now it's not what's healthy. And so I'm laying this to bear for those of you listening, because I know that you, in some way, shape or form, are dealing with a lot as well. And I like to say this if there's one thing that connects us all as human beings that we can 100 relate to whatever you know, we're connecting with each other that word is struggle, and I'm not saying that to be overly negative, as in oh, that's the only way we can relate to each other. No, it's not the only way, but it's one of the most consistent avenues or channels through which we can connect with each other.

Speaker 1:

It's the fact that we all go through struggle, and right now, my struggle is figuring out where I belong in this world. My struggle is finding my path. My struggle is rediscovering myself, getting to the place where I'm comfortable with myself or confident in myself, because, quite frankly, in my life right, there's just too many voices stripping me of that confidence, and most of them are my own. That's the issue too. So, again, I'm sure, the public speaking business and launching the brand and all that. I've encountered much great, like many mountains and many valleys, and right now I feel very much so that I'm in quite the valley, but nonetheless I believe that there is value in sharing this leg of the race for your benefit, for your edification, for your encouragement. Just know that I'm not quitting, I'm not stopping. There are some adjustments that I'm having to make in my life right now. I just went through one heck of a grueling season with school, and that's a whole other story that I may or may not recount in the future.

Speaker 1:

But I wanted to read you these three quotes that I picked out. I'll start with number one, by Henry Ford. He says when everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it. Number five out of a crazy long list. I'm just saying that. No, well, I'll just say, for your sake. Number two this is the second quote by winona ryder. When you finally accept that it's okay to not have answers and it's okay to not be perfect, you realize that feeling confused is a normal part of what it is to be a human being. Ah, man, before I go on to the third one, that one right there resonates with me, even like I resonate with the first one, obviously because I'm going through just the wind absolutely bludgeoning me right now as I try to take off.

Speaker 1:

But with this next quote it's, I feel like, in essence, the spirit of this quote is reminding us to have grace for ourselves, not to make excuses for being stagnant, but to remember that you will struggle, not could struggle. You will Struggle is a part of the journey. My biggest hang-up right now is just okay. So the reason I'm laughing right now is because my brain is telling me all these things about, like, what's holding me back and what my hang-ups are, as if it's unique to me. But as I think of it quote unquote out loud I'm also telling myself, yeah, everybody deals with this too, so why make the burden that much heavier by emphasizing just how intense all of this is? And Well, yeah, I just want to be careful also not to downplay the difficulty of what I'm going through. That's highly important as well. Play the difficulty of what I'm going through, that's highly important as well, but nonetheless, let me just move right on to the third quote. All right, oh, I'm a little further down. There we go. This is a quote by um and hopefully I can pronounce this correctly masaru imoto.

Speaker 1:

They said if you feel lost, disappointed, hesitant or weak, return to yourself to who you are, here and now. And when you get there, you will discover yourself like a lotus flower in full bloom, even in a muddy pond, beautiful and strong and strong. I want to read that one more time because yeah, no deep reason, just just for me. I need to read that one more time. If you feel lost, disappointed, hesitant or weak, return to yourself to who you are, here and now. And when you get there, you will discover yourself like a lotus flower in full bloom, even in a muddy pond, beautiful and strong, even in a muddy pond, beautiful and strong. A lotus flower in full bloom. Discover yourself. It's a big charge, my friends. Discovering yourself isn't easy. It's even harder to refine yourself, because when you discover yourself, you still gotta do something with that. It's not over. As the mamba himself says job's not finished, job's not done.

Speaker 1:

The whole true you brand is centered around having inspiring someone like yourself to find and and manifest, and and exist in the essence of the true you who you truly are. The essence of the true you who you truly are. And for that you need a good reason why. Why are you trying to find the true you? Secondarily, you need to know what is exactly holding you back from walking in the true you. And, lastly, scalable steps, a plan of attack, a strategy. You don't exactly need clairvoyance, you don't need to know what is going to happen tomorrow, but you do need to know what you're going to do about tomorrow. Plan for tomorrow in as much as it is possible to plan. Well, not in as much as it is possible, but in as much as it makes sense to plan, in as much as it is reasonable to plan, because there is such a thing as overplanning. But that's just me covering my basis here. You get the point.

Speaker 1:

But for those of you that already have a motivation and you've already done enough introspection to figure out what's holding you back, it's planning time. And then, when you wake up in the morning, execute, get to it, hop to it. That full bloom lotus flower of yourself in that muddy pond that is this world or your life, it's right around the corner. Keep going, don't stop. And for those of you like myself because these seasons come and go sometimes, like myself, because these seasons come and go sometimes, for those of you Like myself that find yourself Right back at square one, square one, for some reason, without a good reason why.

Speaker 1:

Here's what I have to say to that. There's a point to all this. There's gotta be, there's a reason for your breath, there's gotta be. It's just gotta dig deep, gotta search, find that. Why create that? Why? If you must, but rely on trustworthy voices around you, as well as the God that created you, to anchor yourself in the why that will take you towards discovering yourself, then, you know, grab steps two and three and then that'll be it. That's, honestly all I got right now, and I think this is a good place to stop.

Speaker 1:

I would very much like for next week to be the same thing as in. You know, posting at 7 o'clock again on Friday. I don't know if the schedule is going to change. I don't even know if I'm going to be posting next week. I just know that I am still discovering where the heck I'm supposed to sit my butt down Like. Where's my place? Where's my seat? Where's a safe place for me to lay my head.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, peace is something I'm very much hoping to find soon. So, if you're like me, yeah, don't stop, because there's nothing more demoralizing and senseless than pointless pain. So find a reason for which you're going through what you're going through, even if it doesn't make sense right now. Find a reason, all right, for which you're going through what you're going through, even if it doesn't make sense right now. Find a reason All right. I think, yeah, I think, that's all I have to say. Thank you so much for coming back and listening and I hope that this has been valuable to you and, if it has, share it with someone. And, yeah, have a good one Until the next time, whenever that is, and at some point I'll be back on an actual, legitimate groove. So look forward to that. I love you and thanks for listening. Bye-bye.
